The Nanny...
" Are you sure about this?" Amber asked while helping her to put her stuff to the car. She contacted her yesterday right after she got home and told her everything.
Amber the androgynous girl is her bestfriend since grade school. They always updated each other about anything and support each other in every possible way.
" Yes.. there's nothing wrong with this right? I mean becoming a Nanny isn't a bad start?" Sulli said to Amber but much more to herself.
" Who do you convince?.." Amber almost mumbled shooking her head.
" Oh Amber.. please, not from you." Sulli said pleading. She doesn't wanna hear it from her bestfriend or anyone close to her. Knowing everyone around her wants the best for her.
" Ssul, how about Auntie? do you have any plans of telling her the truth?" asked Amber in grimaced.
" No, not yet. Atleast for now." Sulli said looking away at her bestfriends stare.
" But she's your Mom, she would understand that your not perfect."
" Amber.. you don't know my Mom too well." she said giving her a stern look.
Amber rolled her eyes. She knew her bestfriend too well to not notice that this idea is ridiculous for her. Like hello, she was a consistent deans lister back in college and now she's applying to become a Nanny?
" Oh speaking of.. here's Auntie." Amber said giving her a signal look before excusing herself and carried all her stuff to the car.
" Here, I bought this for you." her Mom smiling at her giving her a pretty box. She was about to open it when her Mom stops her.
" What is this Mom?" she asked wondering.
" That's my gift for you. Open it later. Congratulations to your new job, baby." her Mom smiled at her. There was a bit pinch of guilt inside her with her Mom's thoughtfulness.
" Mom.. this is too much. You don't have to buy me a gift." she said hugging her Mom.
" Oh dear, that is nothing compared to your achievements." her Mom hug her back and kiss her cheek. She closed her eyes. Her Mom has no idea on how she's killing her with so much guilt.
" But baby do you really have to move out? Is it really hard for you to travel from here to the City?" her Mom asked loosing herself from her hug and intently look at her with scrutiny.
" Uhm.. yes, I guess it is much convenient this way Mom. Me, living in a new apartment in the city. Besides I can always visit you once a week." she said smiling weakly. She can't hardly look at her Mom her guilt feeling was eating her inside.
" Is that so? I can also visit you once in awhile, right? I wanna see of what kind of life your supposed to live there." her Mom said while hands were stroking her hair.
" Ha? ahh.. of course Mom, you uhm.. you can visit the city once in awhile." she stutteringly answered as they walk towards Amber's car.
" Okay.. you have to go now, before I change my mind. I might not allow you to leave the house." her Mom said when they were
completely in front of the waiting car.
" I'm sorry Mom. I have to go, I still have a meeting to attend to." she agreeingly said. But of course that was a lie. It's her first day of being a Nanny. It's just 6am in the morning and she should be there exactly at 8 o'clock as to what the lady instructed her. They only have more than an hour to find the address given to her.
" My baby is all grown up now. Look on how dedicated she's into her work." her Mom proudly said towards Amber who's leaning on the door of the car.
Amber just smile awkwardly to what her Mom said.
" Right Amber?" her Mom asked for the latter's agreement.
" Ah yes.. Auntie, of course Sulli is always dedicated with her works." said Amber emphasizing the word dedicated. Sulli give her a scowling look.
" Mom we have to go.. you take care of yourself too, okay?" she said and take a peak on her Mom's cheek.
" You too.. Don't forget to eat luch on time, okay! I love you baby." her Mom said giving her a hug.
" I love you too, Mom!" she said hugging her Mom back and immediately releasing herself to it. After a few seconds of goodbyes with her Mom. She finally get in Amber's car.
" For the second time Ssul, are you really sure of this?" Amber side glance at her.
Letting out a sigh she answered. " Yes, there's no turning back." she firmly said.
" Okay, then.. give me the address." Amber extended her right hand. She give the piece of paper to her. She didn't even bother to read it once.
Choi Minho,
#11833 Pyeongchang-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul Korea
" So this Choi Minho is your boss? I wonder how old is he? I think both parents of that kid were always out of the country since that lady named Victoria as you said, is the one who's temporarily taking care of the kid." said Amber.
" I think so.." she said mindlessly. " Just start the engine and let's go, we only have one and a half hour to find the house before eight."
" Okay.. you said so." Amber shrugged before she started the engine and drove off way to the city.
While on their way...
" What if your Mom visits you one day?" Amber asked while driving.
" How's your rommie doing?" she asked instead of answering her question.
She's not ready to talk about the question Amber asked since she doesn't know how to deal with it either, she will just cross the bridge when she gets there.. for now she'll enjoy her freedom. If freedom is what you called of being away from there abode.
" Why do I have this feeling that you don't want to answer my question?" Amber glance at her side.
" Because I don't want to. How about if you answer my question, instead? How you and your roommate doing?" she asked again.
" Oh well, he's doing his own thing. We really don't give much attention towards each others businesses, in short we don't like each other." Amber just shrugged.
She laugh at her statement.
" Beware of what your saying, you might fall for her in the long run." she said arching both her eyebrows.
" Pssh.. hell no, I even see him as a girl. Too much vain for a man. He's too feminine." Amber said with annoyance in her tone.
" Ohw.. really? Well.. come to think of it. Don't you think your match made in heaven. You the boyish one and his feminine side. Perfect!" she said trying to tease Amber. The latter just rolled her eyes.
" If you were not my bestfriend at all I will drop you off here, I swear!" Amber said with warning.
She just laugh at her. Her bestfriend is too sensitive when it comes to love or any topic related to relationships. She's not open to talk about that matter.
" I know you won't do that." she said beaming.
" Yeah, unfortunately." Amber said.
" If only I won't start today I might celebrate this freedom from home, you know." she suddenly said.
" Freedom?" Amber asked.
" Yeah.. freedom." she shrugged with the word.
" Huh, your calling it freedom when your just going to stay at home taking care of a child?" Amber rolled her eyes.
" Why do you have to make it sound so bad?" she said sulking.
" It's not that.. you know you deserve more Ssul. This isn't supposed to be your world. I prefer to see you in a suit rather wearing a dress with apron." Amber said with full of grimaced.
She felt mixed-up. Amber was right. This isn't her world.
Amber nudged her. " Yah Ssul, you know I love you right. We all do.. at the end of the day it's your decision. We're just here to support you. If you find yourself back on track.. that would be good. But be sure you'll be happy."
She nod and smiled at her. " Thank you!" she mouthed. Amber slightly pinch her on the cheek.
After an hour and a half Amber parked the car in front of a Villa.
" Maybe this is the house." Amber said after parking. She peep on the car windows and look for the address written on the wall.
" Is that the address stated on the business card?" she asked.
" Yes.. Choi Residence #11833, unless there are a lot of Choi in the village?" Amber said.
She heaved a sigh turning her glance to Amber.
" So I guess this is it. Thank you as always Amber." she moved forward and take a peak on her cheek.
" Anytime Ssul, and hey! update me okay, tell me if your boss is a perve and make advances of you. I will surely kill him with my own bare hands." Amber said with wide eyed.
She laugh at her.
" Yah.. yah! I won't allow it of course." she said opening the car door on her side and get herself out.
" You okay here? Call me, if your not busy." Amber said after helping her with her stuff. She just nodded and give her a hug.
" I will be, okay. You go now.." she said between the hug, she tapped Amber's back before letting her go.
" Okay bye.. Ssul be good." Amber said and get herself back in the car. She waved her goodbye before totally deserting the place and leave her there standing at the front gate of Choi Residence.
