I don't know if I structured this chapter all that well, but it's your opinions I care about, not mine xD Please vote and comment; tell me what you think! :D

**

Unlike earlier on in the daytime, my wait seemed to fly by.

I guess it was because I spent my whole time thinking of what I was suppose to say, if I actually got as far as being able to see my dad.

I stayed close to the arena, but quickly found within the first half hour of my wait that I wouldn’t be able to just sit and do nothing, so I ended up walking in circles. The back doors were my target, as I knew they were probably the closest doors to where my dad was. As I passed them on my walk, I glanced at the two overly-muscular bouncers, dressed in all black with their arms crossed over their chests.

I’d expected there to be security, but it was then that it me how hard it was going to be. They didn’t look like they were going to back down to anything, even if I explained my situation to them. Granted, it didn’t sound like a realistic situation, but I needed to get in there.

I let my hair fall past my shoulder, hiding my face as I scuttled past them and tried to ignore their harsh gazes that watched me walk. I knew they were just doing their job, but I didn’t think it was necessary for them to stare at everyone like that. I’d not even tried to get past them yet.

I then realised that it was my bag they were suspiciously eyeing. It probably had something to do with the fact that I’d now walked past them at least two times, my duffel bag clutched tightly to my side. They could look through it if they wanted, but they’d only find clothes and makeup and my toothbrush and toothpaste.

I’d kept the birth certificate and photograph in my jacket pocket ever since I’d gotten to the arena. I kept taking it out and looking at it, each time, I’d handle it with care. Nothing was going to jeopardise my chances of getting in there and talking to my dad.

I seemed to be lighting up the screen of my phone every few minutes, sighing when I realised that time was ticking away a lot quicker than I thought it would’ve done. What was I supposed to say to him?

“Hey, this may come as a shock to you, but I’m the kid that your girlfriend ran off with nearly seventeen years ago...”

Inside my head, it sounded absolutely ridiculous.

But then again, I kind of had proof. Surely, he wouldn’t turn me away when he saw that.

I was stunned out of my thoughts when people started leaving the arena. I couldn’t believe that those hours had already passed.

With my experience from the gigs I’d been to, some people chose to stay in the arena for ages afterwards, others would come out and just go home, and then there were the ones that came out and waited for the band to come out.

Which meant that I didn’t have much time before people started going to the back of the arena to see if anyone was around there.

I abruptly stood up, almost losing my balance when my shaky legs wobbled slightly. It was like they didn’t want to move, but I was trying my absolute hardest to coach myself in my mind and tell myself I could do this.

My legs began numbly walking, without me even properly realising it. It was like they wouldn’t stop, and quickly, I found myself at the back again, facing the two security guards.

I was relieved, however, that no one else was yet back here. The back door was open for some reason, which made me wonder if anyone was planning on coming out any time soon.

“Can we help you, miss?” The security guard on the left asked, making my gaze divert from the door to him.

“Uh...” I began to reply, then remembering to stay as sweet as possible. It probably wouldn’t work, but it was worth a try. “You might be able to, actually.”

“Oh, yeah?” The security guard on the right then spoke. “You lost or something? Need help finding your way?”

“No...No, I’m not lost.” I shook my head. “I actually need to get in there.”

Amused smirks of some sort felt onto their faces as I nodded my head towards the back door, still smiling sweetly at them.

“Do you have a pass?” The one on the left questioned.

I merely shook my head, pursing my lips as I knew what was coming next.

“Well then, we can’t let you in.” The one on the right chuckled. “Sorry.”

“Yeah, well, you must be able to do something.” I said rather harshly, a little put out by his sarcastic tone. “It’s important.”

“Like I haven’t heard that before.” The same one scoffed. “I’m sure you’ll be able to meet your favourite band some other time, but tonight’s not that time.”

“My dad’s in there.” I glared.

“Your dad?” The one on the left gasped sarcastically, making the other one laugh. “Whatever is he doing, keeping his daughter outside while he’s in there?”

“Look, you have no idea. I need to see him.” I narrowed my eyes even more, growing impatient.

“Listen, girly, you should just leave before we take action.” The one on the right threatened. “You’re not getting in there.”

“You’re being deliberately stubborn, just—‘’

“Leave.” He repeated.

I couldn’t quite believe that they’d be this rude. Not only was I getting impatient, but I was getting angry, too.”

“No.” I snapped. “I’m going to see my dad.”

“Pfft. Not here you’re not. I’m warning you, kid, I’m gonna count down from fiv—‘’

“Ah, man, I think my eardrum has burst.” A different voice interrupted the security guard.

All three of our gazes snapped round to see the two guys that were approaching the back door, cigarettes in their hands as they were obviously coming out for a smoke.

But my breath caught in my throat when I realised the guy on the left of the two was Jason. My dad.

Sure, he’d obviously grown up, but there was no mistaking it was him. Not in the slightest.

“Okay, you really have to leave now.” The security guard on the left told me.

Jason and the other guy had heard, as they were now in the doorway, looking from the security guards to me.

I couldn’t say anything.

“I mean it.” The security guard repeated.

“I—‘’

“Is there a problem?” Jason asked.

“Yeah. This girl thinks she’s getting in there.” The one on the right smirked. “Think she wants to meet the band.”

Jason and the guy looked at me interestedly, obviously not as stubborn as the security were.

“I’m sure we can sort something, you guys.” The guy stood with Jason said. “It’s really not that much of a problem. Avenged love meeting their fans.”

I was literally shaking. I wanted to say something, but every time I opened my mouth, my mind went blank.

“Are you okay?” The same guy then asked.

“I-I’m not here to see the band.” I finally stammered, taking a deep breath. I looked at Jason, studying his frown as he stared back at me. He was obviously confused. “I’m here to see you.”

It was silent for a couple of moments, before his frown got deeper.

“Me?” He questioned, a slight laugh in his tone. “Why? I mean, I’m just the roadie.”

“Yeah, but um...” I continued, slightly more confident this time. I got the birth certificate and photo out of my pocket, but his eyes stayed on my face. “According to the writing on the back of this photo...you’re more than that...to me.”

His eyes glanced down at the photo for a split second. I stepped forward, starting to hand it towards him, but the security guard stepped in my way. However, Jason forcefully pushed past him and took the photo in his hands, staring down at it in complete shock.

It seemed like absolutely ages that he was looking at it. His hands seemed to be shaking now, and I watched in anticipation as his eyes slowly widened, and he looked up to meet my gaze.

“Where did you get this?” He asked through clenched teeth.

I gulped, not knowing how to explain it to him. I knew I had to say something soon.

“I found it.” I told him truthfully. “In my house.”

I could tell that he didn’t understand, but I spoke again before he could question it.

“ And it came as bit of a shock to me, because that’s you in that photo. And that baby that you’re holding...is me.” I knew I sounded absolutely insane, but he didn’t seem to notice.

He said absolutely nothing, but I could see his mouth open slightly as he stared at me more obviously.

“And if you don’t believe me, here’s my birth certificate.” I shoved it towards him, not letting go until he clasped it in his hands. “Apparently, you’re my dad.”

Still, he said nothing. His breathing got heavier as he looked between the photo and my face, obviously unsure of what to do or say.

And after what seemed liked moments and moments of anxious waiting, he finally spoke.

Just the one word.

“Jasmine?”
