There was once a little girl at school, who bragged about her bravery and skill almost every second of the day. One day the other kids grew tired of her bragging, so they decided to give her an impossible task to prove her bravery.
"If you're so brave, go to the graveyard and stand in front of the grave of Mr Jenkins. It is said that every night a bony hand grabs the ankle of anyone standing close to that grave. And to prove that you did it, you must stick a knife in the ground," one boy said.
She couldn't refuse, or it would be an act of cowardice. So, that night she went to the graveyard and stood in front of the gravestone. Her long dress billowed around her ankles as the cold wind hit her neck sending chills up her spine. She decided to make it quick. She stuck the knife in the ground, even though she couldn't make out her hand because it was so dark, and quickly turned. But something held her back. She eventually tore herself away from the graveyard screaming. She scampered over the gate and ran home. The next morning she told her friends.
But what prohibited her from leaving?
