"Hey baby." Lani pecks my lips and hands me a plate. "Thanks." I tell her. She was smiling at me a little too hard. I said my prayer over my food twice just in case. After dinner, she took me to the couch, and handed me a envelope with a card in it. 'Made With Love...' It read on the front. When I opened it, an ultrasound picture fell out. 'So am I! Hi daddy!' The inside read. I look at Lani,I hug her. "Wow." I say looking at the ultrasound. "You see it? Still tiny." I smile then kiss her lips. "Shit's crazy." I say still looking at it. "You not upset?" She ask. "Nah man.I'm kinda happy. I want a family with you baby." I kiss her temple and stare at the ultrasound.
Lani fell asleep on my chest that night. I put my hand on her stomach. I can't believe she pregnant. Her itty bitty ass. This shit is gonna be funny when her stomach get big, she gone look like a lil kid with a basketball under her shirt. I laugh a little. Lani might be the shortest girl I know. She 5'0, Lonnie 5'4, My mama 5'6 and Kae is 6'. Ole tall ass.
Next morning, Lani was up throwing up. Ew. She came out the bathroom with her toothbrush still hanging out her mouth. "Good morning Quincy." She walks in the closet. I'm glad we don't have to move. This house is perfect for a million kids. We live in a big ass estate on the outside of the city. Lani came out the closet in a dress. Oh shit, that's different for her. She looked beautiful. She had her hair curly, no make up, just pink lipstick. "You look beautiful babe." I tell her. "Thank you." She smiles. "I'm leaving with your mother in a few. I'll be home in a few hours." She tells me. "Alright baby. I'm going back to sleep so lock up." I tell her. She nods and grabs her phone and purse walking out the bedroom. I fall back asleep.

"These are too cute." Q's mom says showing me booties. "Yes. I wish I knew what the baby was!" I tell her. "You have the ultrasound pics with you?" She ask. I nod. "Okay, it looks to be a boy. You can tell by which side the placenta is on. But I'm not saying it is." She says. I nod. "I hope it's a boy." I smile. "Wow. I wanted girls. I got three boys in return." She laughs. "You have a name for a boy?" She ask. "MaJor Quentin James." I tell her. "That's cute. How you gonna spell MaJor?" She ask. "Normal. But capital J." I say. "Girl name?" She ask. "Madison Blu Marie James." I respond. "That's really pretty Lani." She tells me. "I just don't want my kids to have a ghetto name like mines. LeLani may be the most ghetto name ever!" I say. "No. Not really." She says. "I think it is. So is there anything I should buy now?" I ask her. "I started buying bottles, white or neutral oncies. Also things to organize with. So like baskets things like that. Also, bedroom furniture." She tells me. "Okay. Let me ask Quincy how much to spend." I say. "Girl, if he say something, tell me. I will get his ass." I smile and look at the crib. "I want to do cherry wood, is that kind of neutral?" I ask. "Yeah. It's really pretty. Lord that price though." I look to see it's $500 I really want it. "Oh, he'll be fine." I check out with only $510. I smile. I usually spend way more at the mall a day.
"Le Mother fucking Lani! What the fuck!?" Quincy comes downstairs. "Yes?" I look at him. "$500 damn dollars? Seriously?" He ask. "Mama, he's yelling at me." Mama Q comes in. "Quincy Jones, she spent the money on the baby." I smile. "Alright then. This child gone be the death of me." Quincy says. "Gone empty yo damn bank account." Mama Q says. "No the hell it's not." Quincy responds. "Watch your mouth DADDY." I say. "Oh yeah. I don't know how you expect me to stop cussing. I'm Quincy." Q says. "You need to stop. Unless you want the baby walking around cussing and stuff. Talking about F this F dat. B this B that." I tell him. "If I can stop, you can." I say walking in the living room. "Take the crib upstairs. We have to put it together later. The other furniture will be here tomorrow." I tell him. "Okay boss lady."
"What you want Quincy?" I ask. "It doesn't even matter. As long as it's healthy." He tells me smiling. "Man, I love you Quincy."He laughs. "Love you too LeLani." He says kissing my forehead.
