"Kaki look!! Look what I found!!" I hear Sofi yell before she runs into my room holding a little black and white puppy.
"Where did you get that? And why is it here?" I ask her watching as she sets the dog down and closes my door. She doesn't say anything, we just watch as the little animal walks around my room sniffing everything. Getting a good look at it, I see it's not really small but it's definitely a puppy and it kind of looks like a husky. The cute fluffy tail, eyebrows that make them look mean, one blue eye and one brown eye. It's solid black except the very tips of it's toes and tail are white along with a tiny strip of white fur right under it's chin.
It's absolutely adorable but i'm not exactly sure that it's a husky. It kind of looks like a wolf the more I keep looking at it and it's paws are huge so it's definitely gonna be big. I chuckle when it finds one of my socks under my bed and starts throwing it around while growling and barking at it.
"Sofi, where did you get it?" I ask her again.
"It, is a her and I found her on my way here from the bus stop. I'm so glad mommy didn't pick me up today." She says beaming at me.
"Where exactly was she though?" I ask wanting to know as much as I can.
"Well she was in someones yard playing in there little flower bed and when they saw her they made her leave and she came running to me so I brought her home." She says. At first I was thinking it was there dog but you don't kick your own dog out of your house. "Isn't she so cute Kaki?" She asks smiling at me.
"Yea she's adorable Sof but you know we can't keep her." I tell her sadly.
"Why not? We can keep a secret right Kaki?" She asks me. Of course but mom and dad will eventually find out and then we'll get in trouble. They really don't like animals at all, pretty much the main reason why we don't have one.
"This is a big secret Sofi and how long are we supposed to pretend were not hiding a dog? I mean what if she barks? Or growls? She's doing it right now and she's just playing with a sock, imagine what she'd be like if she saw someone or heard something she didn't like. We'd be so screwed. And what do we feed her? We don't have dog food and it'd be weird if we just randomly asked mama to buy some. Oh my god where does she sleep? We don't have a dog bed or anything like that. And-"
"Camila calm down please." Sofi says putting her hands on my shoulders. I'm glad she stopped me. At that point I was kind of just asking myself all of those questions out loud.
"We can't keep her Sofi." I tell her seriously.
"But we can figure it out. We can find a way to keep her." She says hopefully.
"How? There gonna find out eventually and we'll be in so much trouble." I say already starting to worry about the outcome.
"Look at her." She says pointing to the puppy. I look at it and see she's just sitting there looking back and forth between me and Sofi with her tongue hanging out. She looks so cute. "Please Kaki, can we try to keep her?" Sofi begs.
"Tonight we can but that's it. I don't wanna get in trouble over this Sofi. I'm sorry but tomorrow we should take her to a shelter or see if anyone around here is interested in buying her from us. Maybe we could split the money if you want." I say trying to make the situation a little better.
"I don't want money, I want my puppy." She says sitting down next to the dog, frowning. "We can take care of her and maybe we can convince mommy and daddy to let us keep her." She says smiling a little. I don't want to keep saying no, well I just can't keep saying no. She looks so happy and hopeful that we might be able to keep it. I just watch as they both roll around on the floor playing tug of war with my sock and Sofi giggling as the puppy licks her ears and her face.
"Huh ok we can try to convince them to let us keep her." I say smiling a little. "But we do it tomorrow ok? I just want to at least keep her for tonight." I say watching her smile get bigger with each word.
"Oh thank you, thank you, thank you Kaki! Your the best!" She says hugging me as tight as she can. I smile at her nodding my head.
"So uh what's her name?" I ask curiously.
"Oh when I saw her the first name that came to me was Y/N. So that's what i've been calling her. I think she likes it because she would listen to me on the way home. See watch." She says picking the dog up and setting it down in front of my door. She walks over to my window that's across the room and stands there looking at the dog. I mean Y/N.
When she see's that Y/N isn't paying attention she says her name and we both watch as Y/N's little ears perk up at the sound of her name being called. Maybe she does like it. "Watch Kaki." Sofi says motioning for Y/N to come to her. Once there standing in front of each other, Sofi gives her a string of commands and Y/N does all of them. Sit, lay down, stand, roll over, fetch, speak, she shakes with both paws. She's very well behaved and maybe when mama and papa see her tomorrow they'll consider keeping her.
"That's amazing Sofi. They have to let us keep her if we show them that." I say excitedly.
We play with Y/N until our parents get home and we decide to make her stay in my room until it's time for bed so they don't find out about her. After we eat dinner and take our showers me and Sofi go back to my room to give Y/N our leftovers that we didn't eat. Table food probably isn't good for her but we don't have dog food so this will have to do for tonight. We watch as she devours the food and goes through her whole bowl of water within minutes. Aww she must've been starving.
She starts whining after a while so we very sneakily take her out to the backyard so that she can do her business.
"I'm not picking that up." Sofi says as she watches Y/N poop with a disgusted look on her face.
"Seriously Sofi? This is all part of having a dog. This is part of taking care of them. Go get a bag you goofball, i'll pick it up." I say playfully rolling my eyes at her. She runs inside and comes back out with a small bag and hands it to me. I pick up the poop and put it in the garbage can. "See that wasn't hard at all." I say as we go back inside.
I wash my hands and go back upstairs to see Sofi and Y/N all cuddled up in my bed. "Sofi it's time for bed sweetheart, you have school tomorrow." I hear mom say as she gets closer to my room. Sofi quickly hides Y/N under the covers and mom pokes her head in the door motioning for Sofi to go to her own room so that she can get tucked in for bed.
"Hold on mama. I have to say goodnight to Kaki." Sofi says. Mom nods her head and we exchange our goodnights before she goes to Sofi's room waiting for her. "Ok can Y/N/N stay with you tonight because mama will see her when she wakes me up in the morning and she doesn't wake you up so we won't get in trouble." She says petting Y/N's head.
"Good idea. I'll take care of her until you get home tomorrow and then we'll tell mom and dad when they get home from work. Sound good?" I ask. She nods her head hugging me. We say our goodnights as well and she shuts my door on her way out leaving me alone with Y/N. I watch the puppy walk around in a circle up by my pillows before she flops down curling herself in a little ball. She's so cute, I really hope we can keep her. Just playing with her all day and seeing her little personality, i'm already in love with her and I don't wanna have to give her up. I know I shouldn't have gotten attached so quickly but I couldn't help it. She's just so sweet and adorable and she has puppy breath and she smells like a puppy and ugh we have to keep her.
I lay down next to her smiling as I listen to her little snores. I wrap her up in my arms holding her tight and slowly fall asleep as well.

I think i'm gonna start writing one shots. I have ideas that don't need to be books because I don't really have anywhere for them to go but there fine as short stories so I hope you guys like these. And there will also be a part two for this story.
