Alison's pov
To say I was nervous is an understatement. I've only been back for a month now and it hasn't gone so smoothly, Spencer and Hanna are really skeptical but who can blame them? Aria is still messed up from what happened in New York, and Emily and I have had some "moments" here and there. So when my mom asked me to invite her over for dinner I was surprised, "Does she know something?" Is the first question that came to my mind. But when Emily said "yes" in such a simple way I figured I was over reacting. But here I am standing in front of my mirror panicking that something might go wrong tonight. Emily could be here any minute, what if my mom does know something? I mean why would she ask me to invite Emily and none of the other girls? "Ding!" My thoughts were interrupted by the door bell, "Ill get it!" I yelled as I rushed downstairs. I opened the door to see Emily wearing a black sweatshirt, some denim skinny jeans, and her black and white converse. "Even in a simple outfit she looks hot." I thought to myself, "Hey Ali." She said smiling as I smiled lightly. "Hey Em, come in. Dinner should be ready in a couple of minutes." I said as she nodded and walked in, I shut the front door and we both took a seat on my couch. "So Jason and your dad are now living together?" She asked as I nodded, "Yeah with the divorce my mom got to keep the house and my dad got his apartment. Jason decided to move with him." I said simply as she nodded. "How have you been?" She asked hinting about the other night that I almost got strangled to death. "Uh I'm fine, the bruises are gone." I said showing her my neck as she chuckled lightly, "Good." She said as I smiled at her. "Em I'm really sorry about almost leaving town, it's just I-" I tried to explain and she cut me off. "I get it Ali, you don't need to apologize. It's hard being back, I'm just glad I got to you before you did leave." She said as I sighed, "I'm glad you got to me in general. God I probably would've been six feet under right now if you didn't." I tried to joke as she frowned. "Don't say that Ali." She said as I opened my mouth to say something, "Girls dinners ready!" My mother said from the kitchen and all my nerves were back. "Oh hello Emily!" My mom said happily as Emily smiled, "Hi Ms. dilaurentis." Emily said sweetly as my mom rolled her eyes playfully. "How many times do I have to tell you, call me Jessica!" She said as Em and I both went to go sit at the table. "I hope you like chicken salad Emily." My mom said as she served us both, "Oh my mom makes the best chicken salad!" I said as Emily smiled. "Oh yeah I've tried it once before, it was great." She said as I furrowed my eyebrows. "Oh yes I do remember when you stayed with me for awhile Emily." My mom said as I got more confused, I decided to just talk to Emily about it later. "So how's your mother sweetheart?" My mom asked as Emily smiled, "She's fine, she's been going to see my father a lot more lately." She explained as my mother smiled at her. "Well you're welcome to stay here anytime you want. Oh Ali was just so nervous for you to come here tonight." She said as I glared at her and Emily giggled, "Aww that's so cute." She said as I felt my face flush a bit. "How have you been Ms- I mean Jessica?" Emily asked as my mom smiled, "Oh I've just been so much happier knowing Ali's back." My mom said as I couldn't help but smile at her, "I know how you feel." Emily said smiling and I blushed. That didn't go unnoticed by my mom, "So Emily are you seeing anyone?" She asked as I glared at her. "Mom." I said warningly and she rolled her eyes, "What Alison it's just a question." My mom said as Emily chuckled a bit. "Uh, no actually, I'm not seeing anyone." Emily said as my mother smiled, "So no lucky girl you have your eye on huh?" She asked as I covered my face with my hands. "Mom please stop talking now." I said with my hands still on my face, "Ali I'm just talking God." My mom said. "Well I wouldn't say that." Emily said as I quickly looked at her, "This is amazing chicken salad Jessica." Emily added changing the subject. "Oh thank you sweetheart. Next time you can try my chicken pot pie." My mom said smiling as Emily smiled, "I wouldn't miss it." She said as I couldn't help but smile at how Emily and my mom got along. I mean my mom doesn't get along with anyone, "Well I'm stuffed." I said as I finished my chicken salad and Emily nodded. "Me too." She said as my mom smiled, "Well you two can just run along upstairs while I wash these dishes." My mom said as we stood up. "Let me help you with the dishes." Emily said as my mother shook her head, "No thank you sweetheart, you go along to Alison's room." My mom said as Emily smiled. "Thank you for the lovely dinner Jessica." Emily said smiling, "No problem honey, it was lovely having your company." My mom said as Emily and I went upstairs. "Gosh my moms so embarrassing." I said as I plopped myself on my bed, "She's sweet." Emily said as she sat next to me. "I think she knows I like you." I said as Emily stared at me, "Y-You like me?" Emily asked as I sat up. "Isn't it obvious? Emily I've been giving you so many hints, God you're so oblivious." I said as she blushed, "Well your mom already knows I have the biggest crush on you." She said as I furrowed my eyebrows. "How the hell does my mom know?" I asked as Emily chuckled, "Well when "A" drove their car through my living room I stayed here for a month. And your mom said and I quote "I know how you felt about Alison, I just wish she could've returned those feelings."." Emily said as I sat there shocked. "My mom knew you liked me before I went on the run?" I asked shocked as Emily nodded. "God moms do know everything." I said, "And I can't believe you lived with her for like a month." I said groaning and leaning my head on Emily's shoulder as she giggled. "Hey your mom isn't as bad as everyone makes her seem." Emily said as I smiled a bit, "So you like me?" Emily asked shyly as I sat up and smiled at her. "Oh shut up and kiss me fields." I said as she smirked, "You don't gotta tell me twice."
