I travels pretty slow as I went down south to see what I can find in California.
I left the motel earlier today when the sun was rising. Now I'm looking around as I enter San Francisco I'll stay here for today and maybe travel to Los Angeles tomorrow morning.
I stop at a small restaurant and go eat. I take a seat and order my food. I ended up getting a coffee and blue berry muffin like Leah would when she would come to the Café. Along with a dish if pancakes, eggs, sausage and bacon.
I eat slowly, I'm not in a rush to go anywhere. I observe the different people walking in and out of the restaurant. When I finally finish my food I get back in the truck and drive around exploring the area. I walk on the Piers, and places that most people come to walk through.
I don't know what I did wrong. Leah didn't even tell me the reason for why we were breaking up. She just said we were over. I sit down on a bench facing the bay. It's chilly. The windows is blowing and it's cloudy.
Even still people are wearing shorts and a t-shirt. Or shorts and a t-shirt with a sweatshirt over it. Jeans, sweatshirts, sneakers. The tourists are pretty easy to spot.
My phone rings and I look to see who it is. Mateo. I haven't heard from that fool in a while. I answers.
"Listen if your going to tell me to come back it was a waist of your time to call me." I tell him.
"Fine in that case I'll try not to bring that up." Mateo says.
"What do you want?" I ask him annoyed.
"Where are you?! Are you okay?! Why on earth did you leave?! You could have stayed! And you know that but no you left! What about your mom. Think about your mom!" Mateo shouts.
I move the phone away from my ear a little. People passing by stare at me and I only give them a smile.
"Lower your voice will yu. I know what I did. I'm aware I've what I'm doing Mateo. Know, if anything happens you call me and I head back there as soon as possible." I tell him.
"How far are you?" He asks.
"Across the country." I respond.
"What way, south, east, southeast?" Mateo asks.
"That my best friend I'm not telling you." I reply standing up and heading back to the truck.
"Well then am I even your best friend?" Mateo asks.
"Yeah, it's just that if I tell you you will tell Leah, or my mom and then they will come." I tell him.
"Understandable." He replies.
"Anyway, how are you and your girl?" I ask him.
"Incredible. I gave her the song and wrote if she would be my girlfriend and then the next time I saw her she said yes. Now she is my girlfriend." Mateo says.
"I'm glad. Man spoil her with your talent. She likes your music so just keep making music which you dedicate to her." I tell him.
"That sounds like a good idea." He agrees.
I hear movement and I think Mateo's phone fall. Not sure I'm not very familiar with that sound. It gets picked up I guess and there is rustling and yelling.
"Danny? Danilo is that you? I'm so sorry please come back we have to talk." I hear Leah plead desperately from Mateo's phone. She sounds like she is saying the truth but why.
Why would she want me to return when she was the one that told me to leave. I did take it a little far. When she told me to stay away from her life. I kinda left the state. I'm pretty sure that isn't what she ment. But whatever I'm already where I am.
"Leah."
"Danny, listen to me. Come home, please. We need to talk and it's really important and necessary." Leah interupts me.
"Leah! I'm not going back. Not soon. You want to talk? Isn't that what we are doing. Tell me what you want to tell me then." I reply.
"I can't because you won't believe me." She replies.
"I can't won't believe you. I believed everything you said. So if you don't think I'll believe you then. Bye Leah." I pull the phone away and hang up.
I feel bad but she doesn't trust me. Trust is key. I trust her alot more then anyone else. Her part over what I hear, what someone else tells me.
I starts the truck up and head back to the main part of the city looking for a place to stay the night.
Leah's P.o.v
He hung up on me. I give the phone back to Mateo and walk out with my head done. I begin walking to Sam's. There isn't many places to go that don't remind me of Danny or my dad. Why did I have to lose them both.
I hear a wolf howl and I steer into the woods. I shift and run to where we meet. I jump off a pile of logs beside Seth.
Jacob is standing infront where Sam usally stands to talk to us all. Sam jumps out and lands beside him.
Tell them Jacob. Sam says. We all look at Jacob to see what is happening.
There is an army of leeches coming. They want a fight and I was speaking with Sam earlier. We are going to fight along side the Cullen's.
Why? It's not our battle to fight. The should fight their ownm battles. I speak.
We are fighting with them because if they loose those vampires will attack our people. To avoid that from happening we must fight with them. Sam tells me. I snarl lightly.
So when is this happening and what are we gonna do until that day? Quil asks.
There is a day we will meat up with them to get info on these vampires. Which is tomorrow. Then 2 days after we expect to meet them. And get rid of them. Jacob announces to all of us.
I don't like this. This is because of that leech lover.
I'll see you at home Seth. I tell my brother as I turn away and leave. I shift back when I begin to bear the beach. I walk on the trail and Rembert again the day Danny saw me and Seth as wolves but didn't now.
When I heard that he had made love with someone the night before. It hurt when I heard him speak those words in the phone. He was probably talking with the girl. By the way he yelled, and because he didn't know that I was the wolf. I somewhat believed what he was saying.
What he said was possible, but who was that girl anyways. Someone from school, some random girl, or one F the girls that went to his house the day that we were having dinner together with Embry.
So when I saw him at the beach and was telling him that we were breaking up like Sam told me too. My heart was telling me not, but was hurting when I saw his face.
His brown eyes, black hair. But when he was speaking the words, half related and father came up. Family problems.
I hug my self with my arms across my chest to keep me warm with Danny's hoodie. I sit down and pull my legs close to my body and rest my head on my knees. I close my eyes and hear the waves, the wind blowing.
"Leah?!" I hear someone yell. I look up and I feel like I'm seeing the impossible.
I stand confused, "Danny?"
When the person is much closer I see that I was wrong.
"Oh, sorry I thought you were Danny." I apologize to Gabriel.
"It's okay, your not the first that does that." Gabriel replies.
"What you doing here." I ask him.
"Getting a break from my sister's and dad." He answers. "You?"
"Same, kinda. Getting a break from my friends and all that's happening in life." I reply.
"Hey, I have an idea come on." He grabs my arm and pulls me with him.
"Where are we going?" I ask him.
"To forget everything happening in our lives." Gabriel answers. Not the answer I was looking for but I'm going to go with it.
We reach a motorcycle and he hands me a helmet while he searches for another one. I pull it on. I've never done this, ride a motorcycle so this is going to be fun.
Gabriel puts on a helmet and gets on first. I get on after him and wrap my arms around him to secure myself. This should be fun but I don't want to die and have it be Gabriel's fault.
My head is pressed against his back feeling the breeze and wondering when we will stop. He pulls out into a small town full of tourists. I get off and hand the helmet back to him while I stand observing this place. So many restaurants and shops.
"What do you want to eat?" Gabriel asks.
"Not sure, everything seems good." I answer.
"Done." He grabs my arm again and pulls me to a close restaurant. We sit down and very soon after a waitress comes.
"What can I get this young couple?" She asks. I was going to object, that we aren't a couple but Gabriel takes my hand in his.
"My wife and I would like your special dish." Gabriel says.
"It will be here soon." She smiles and leaves.
"Why did you do that?" I ask Gabriel.
"We are forgetting our problems by becoming different people. Something we aren't." Gabriel says. We get a bowl of soup and water. After we finish he pays and we go to an ice cream shop.
I get strawberry and he gets bubble gum. We walk around looking around to see where to go next. We go into a shop and look around. One of the people that works there comes over to us.
"Welcome and do you need any help?" He asks.
"Yes, we are looking for pregnancy tests. My sister here might be pregnant but we aren't sure." Gabriel says and the guys face is priceless.
I try to keep my face straight and not to laugh.
"They are right here." He grabs one and gives it to Gabe. He takes it and gives it to me. "Um... did you guys...." He asks.
"Yeah, I couldn't contain myself." Gabriel says with a smirk.
The guy ends up leaving us alone and we leave the test where it was and leave the store. I burst out laughing what I had contained inside.
I see a group of girls and pull Gabriel over to them.
"Hey, girls. I was wondering if any of you girls were by any chance needing a guy. He is goofy, a mess, sweet, nice, helpless, likes girls, single and looking for a girl to call his." I tell them.
They stare at me for a while. I see a group of guys leave a store and walk over. They each hug one of the girls or hold their hands.
"Oops." I turn around and pull Gabriel. "That didn't work out well."
"You think I'm goofy, a mess, sweet, nice, helpless, I like girls, I'm single and I'm looking for a girl to call mine?" Gabriel repeats everything I said before.
"Somethings." I reply.
"Let's go back it's getting dark." Gabe says and we go back to the motorcycle. The ride back had my stomach full with butterflies just like when we were heading to the small town. I had a good time and I did forget like Gabriel intended. It was super fun and I wish that time could not have ended cause now I'm thinking of
Danilo Martinez again.
