When Courtney found out about Tina's break up, she cried almost as much as my sister did. You would've thought that Tina was her best friend, not me. Then, when she found out I'd dumped Riley, she didn't cry any harder, because she saw it coming. Wasn't it weird, though? How Tina and I both broke up with our boyfriends on the same day. Alina was worried that it was a Blakeslee thing, that she would too break up with Blake, too. But Dad convinced her it would only happen to Tina and I, since we were sisters and Alina was only our cousin. So, basically, he was telling her that his two daughters had crappy luck. Great, right?

Courtney thought that visiting mom and the devil would cheer us up. But, I didn't want to see her, especially if she had the devil's spawn inside her. It was like. . .Like Jacob visiting Bella when she was pregnant with Edward's baby! Damn. I need to seriously cut it out with the Twilight references. It's scaring me.

I'd tried arguing with her, but there's no use arguing with Courtney. She wouldn't take no for an answer. Stubborn girl. But, I couldn't stay mad at her, since she was one of the best people in the world. And one of the few people who could handle me.

So there we were, Alina, Courtney, Tina and I, in my car, driving to my mommy's house. Freaking Alina had insisted on driving, because I should be 'heartbroken and in no shape for driving,' or crap like that. Yeah, because a broken heart totally messed with your ability to drive. I knew she secretly only wanted to because my car was awesome.

Tina had stopped crying. She was just staring out the window beside me silently. Yes, Courtney sat in the passenger seat instead of me, too. But, that, I volunteered for. I wanted to sit next to my baby sister.

I poked her in the arm. "Hi." And again. "Hi." Then again. "Hi." I did it about five more times until she sighed and looked over at me.

"What?" She asked.

"What," I frowned, "I can't say hello to my fellow sister? What kind of world is this now? Now, people have to have a reason for saying hi? Why is that? It's messed up. Messed up, I tell you."

Courtney turned in her seat, smirking at me. "Yeah. My dad says that employees can't share their phone numbers with each other - or at least, let people know they did - unless they want the other employees to assume they're bed buddies or taking drugs together. Unless that was a really weird, pointless dream. But, isn't that messed up?"

Alina glanced at Courtney and then me in the rearview mirror before looking back at the streets, "And then - I don't know. I can't think of anything." She pouted.

Tina looked at us all. "You're all so weird."

"And what?" I snorted. "You think you're normal? Nuh-huh. I taught you well. You shall never be normal again, thanks to me. And why would you want to be? Being like everyone else would suck."

"But hey," Alina piped in. "Isn't everyone unique in their own way?"

I shrugged. "If we're all unique, then aren't we all the same?"

Courtney took a moment to think about it. "I don't know. Good question! But, probably not. Because everyone's unique in their own way, not the same way."

The rest of the drive was silent, because I think we all confused each other. Four strange, confusing people put together is like. . .Well, like all the Toziers together. Arguing over forks and such.

Mom seemed surprised when we knocked on her door. Obviously, no one had warned her of our arrival. God, how stupid we were.

Before I stepped inside, I asked. "Is your hubby here?"

"Nope. Work." Mom answered. Automatically, I seemed more eager to come inside. "You guys hungry?" She asked.

We all shook our heads, but I held my index finger up. "Correction, mother: we're not guys." She should've know. I mean, didn't she change our diapers when we were younger? Well, not Courtney's, unless she was a really creepy woman, but three out of four is still good.

We plopped down on the couch. I yawned into my arm. Tina sniffed, like she was about to cry again. Oh God. When we tell Mom about Tina, the waterworks would start again, wouldn't they?

Mom nodded slowly, sitting down. "Uh-huh. So, how are you guys?"

I stretched, accidentally hitting Courtney in the face, "Single. Again. It's depressing."

"You broke up with that Colby kid?" She asked.

I smacked my forehead, sinking down on the couch. "I was dating Riley. Not Colby. Riley." Ugh, why did everyone assume I was dating Colby.

Courtney, who was still rubbing her face a little from when I accidentally hit her, said. "Kat, usually, people don't answer that question with 'single.'"

Everyone else ignored us. It was awkwardly silent for a little before Tina broke the silence. "Skyler cheated on me."

Mom's jaw dropped, while tears filled Tina's eyes. Mom held her arms open for her, and my little sister climbed into her lap like we were still kids. Well, we did act like children most of the time, anyway. Tina cried into my mother's shoulder while Mom just patted her back and did that weird 'shh' thing moms do to babies.

Mom whispered. "He's stupid. You deserve better."

"But, there'll never be anyone better than him," Tina cried. "I loved him."

Courtney, probably feeling like it was her job to mention this, said, "There's Conan. He'll rather die than hurt on you. Trust me. If you read his diary-"

A weak laugh escaped Tina's lips. "He seriously keeps a diary?"

"He calls it a journal. But it's totally a diary." Courtney grinned.

Mom furrowed her eyebrows. "Who's Conan, again?"

Alina answered. "My boyfriend's brother." And my soon-to-be boyfriend's brother. Stupid voice. "And the guy that Katherine really likes' brother."

Courtney's phone started ringing, so she frowned and checked the screen. "It's Jake." She said, sighing. She answered, putting it on speaker. "What do you want?"

"Dude!" Jake said, his tone all happy and crap. "Guess what?!"

Courtney sighed again, "What?" Jake would probably say something really perverted or something, which would be so weird in front of my mom. But, she had to have some kind of perverted, messed up mind, right?

"Some guy in Degrassi has the same name as me! Jake Martin! How amazing is that?! I'm famous!" I could imagine him grinning or jumping around his room. "Famous, I tell you!"

I asked. "Um, why are you watching Degrassi. Even though that Drew guy is hot."

Jake was silent for a little. "Pfft, no reason. Good-bye!" He hung up, leaving all of us staring at the phone.

Alina asked flatly. "He called us for that?"

Tina sniffed, sitting back down on the couch. "He's so weird. Probably got it from Colby. At least he cheered me up a little."

Alina's eyes widened. "Holy crap! We forgot!"

We all turned to her, raising our eyebrows. Probably looked weird or something, but we were all a bunch of weirdos.

"Prom's next week!"

Great.
