We where done taking the pictures and were on our way to the Dream Palace Banquet Hall with Krist, Frances, Meredith and Kurt in our limo. We where slightly behind schedule but we didn't really care. We had amazing sex and we didn't care if that made us late. It was our wedding.
"I still can't believe you guys couldn't wait until after the reception," Frances said as she rolled her eyes.
"All my idea," Dave said as we pulled up outside the building.
"Shelby will have you dress ready after you guys dance. You'll be introduced and then you'll dance," Frances said as her and Krist started unbuckling the twins.
"Whose taking the twins while we're gone?" I asked.
"Jimmy, Chantal and myself," Frances replied as Krist got out of the car with Kurt and Dave.
"Ok good. If Jordyn wants to bring the girls by," I started but she cut me off.
"I will let them see them at any time. Don't worry Jordyn and I got this worked out," Frances replied as she got out of the car with Meredith. The door beside me opened and a hand was out for me to take it. I grabbed it and got out of the limo. It was Pat.
"Thanks Pat," I replied as we all stood outside.
"You're welcome Mrs. Grohl. How weird is it being called that?" Pat asked with a smile on his face.
"Like a dream come true," I replied with a small laugh.
Dave and I waited outside while everyone else walked inside. We where waiting for Hunter and Tyler to introduce us. We made them the m.c.'s for the night. We where listening to them go through the script they had come up with and I knew when they would introduce us.
"Get ready," I whispered as I heard Tyler say his last line.
"We'd like to finally introduce to everyone Mr and Mrs Dave Grohl," Hunter and Tyler said together and the doors opened in front of us.
We walked in and everyone started clapping as we walked into the middle of the dance floor. We got ready to dance and the song I picked started. Forever by Jesse and the Rippers, the wedding version. Once the song was done, Dave and I walked over to the wedding party table and he sat down while Shelby and Frances came with me to the bathroom to change into my second dress, put on my flats and take my hair out. Once I was changed we headed back out and I sat down between Frances and Dave. Hunter and Tyler went through another little script before a video of pictures of Dave and I as kids and growing up and together played to the song Tiny Dancer, the song Dave proposed to me with. After that, we ate. There's was lots of different things to choose from. I had gone with a buffet style dinner so everyone would be happy. After we ate it was time for the speeches. Taylor, Krist, Frances and Carrie would be giving speeches along with Dave and myself.
"Ok so it's that time of night where we make the bride cry with all the sappy speeches. I'd like to ask Brittany's oldest friend Carrie to come up to the mic and say a few words," Tyler said and started clapping as Carrie stood up and walked over to the mic.
"Hey. I'm Carrie. I've known Brittany since a few years after high school ended. We've been through so much together. Drug addiction, break ups, depression, but we also had good times like going to fish creek for fires, going shoppign at the mall or just hanging out and talking. I knew Brittany was a true friend when she did everything she could to try and help me before I went on my last downward spiral. I will forever be thankful for what she tried to do. Dave over the past month I have seen how youa nd Brittanya re together and you let her be herself and that's all she's ever wanted. You take amazing care of her and treat her like the ueen she is. I'm glad she found you. Brittany I'm happy you found your happy ever after and I'm glad I'm here to celebrate with you," Carrie said. I was tearing up as she walked back over to table as everyone clapped. I stood up and hugged her as Taylor stood up and walked over to the mic where Hunter was now standing. She hugged Dave as well before sitting back down.
"Thank you Carrie. Now up next we have Dave's best friend and band mate Taylor Hawkins who has become best friends with the bride as well. Please give the Hawk a big round of applause," Hunter said and stepped aside so Taylor could stand there.
"Hello ladies and gentlemen. I've known Dave for years. He's my brother, best friend and like my identical twin almost, I'm better looking though. Dave and I have always had our ups and downs but we've always gotten through it. When I first met Brittany, she was sitting int he front seat of Dave's van with Hunter in the backseat. Hunter and I unintentionally called her bitch. Anyway that's beside the point. That night was also the first night Dave met her and I noticed that all night Dave couldn't stop looking at her. If she left the room, he would look around the room for her or he would go off to find her. He kissed her that night and she freaked and came to me to talk. She trusted me enough to talk to me and I knew she was gonna be my new bestest friend in the whole world. I've gotten to know her over the past two years and Britt, you're just amazing. You treat my boy the way you have been and you will be happy for the rest of your life. I love you both. Thanks everyone," Taylor said as people started clapping. He walked back up to table and him and Dave hugged. Taylor and I hugged as Tyler went back up to the mic.
"Thanks Taylor. Now I'd like to introduce the next man even though he needs no introduction. I also had to fight Hunter tooth and nail to introduce him. Please give a huge round of applause for Mr. Krist Novoselic," Tyler said as Krist stood up and walked to the mic. I let out a small woo as Krist got up to the mic.
"Thanks everyone. I've known Dave since he was 21. I've known Britt since she was 27. I'm gonna pull on everyone's heart strings a bit but first I just want to say that I'm happy for the two of you. You guys have such a incredible bond and connection. It's rare to find one like yours. You guys get each other without trying. Taylor and I where talking and he said you guys just fit together like two pieces of a puzzle and he's right. Britt I know you didn't know him but I feel like Kurt would have liked you. Dave talked to me about him and you one night and we think he really would have liked you. You knwo him a differeny way then us and you've said we changed your life and I'm grateful for that. I'm happy to say you are my friend and I wish you both many years of happiness," Krist said. Everyone started clapping as he walked back to the table. Dave and I both hugged him before he sat back down.
"Only Krist could make everyone tear up like that including me. Now please give it up for Britt's awesome best friend. The beautiful Frances Cobain," Hunter said as Frances walked over to the mic.
"Thank you. I met Brittany by accidentally walking into her and dumping her coffee on her on the day she started her fittings for Father of the Bride 3. I felt terrible and bought her another one. We exchanged numbers and hung out at lunch and later that night when she met the guys that would become her bandmates. She's been there for me through my divorce and a recent break up and get back together with my mom. I've also been there for her through her loss of two friends, a break up and the birth of my god children Kurt and Meredith. You two made beautiful and handsome babies. Dave you made her blossom and you've given her the ability to spread her wings and fly. Brittany you're like the sister I've never had and I love you to the moon and back. Thank you for being there for me and I'll always be here for you. You're the Quinn to my Daria but you are also my Jane. My mom also wanted me to tell you that she's proud of you and loves you as well. Thanks guys," Frances said as everyone started clapping and she came back to the table. Dave stood up to hug her and she hugged him. Once Dave sat down I stood up and hugged her.
"Ok everyone. It's that time that we ask the bride to come up and say something. It's best we ask her to go first because I know Dave's gonna make her cry. Please give it up for Mrs. Brittany Grohl," Tyler said as I stood up and walked over tot he mic.
"Ok so everyone has made me cry tonight. I might even make myself cry because I'm an over sensitive person. When I came to LA, I had a dream to make it. I did and it was with the help of this amazing man. I came here for a movie and Frances helped me find the band. When I went to audition I followed the sound of drums and walked into Dave's rehearsal space. I tried to walk out quietly but he caught me. From that moment on, my life was changed. He made my band mates Gavin, Garrett, Kyle, Tyler and Kevin's dreams come true as well as mine. I wish Kevin could be here today as do I wish that Kurt, Jimmy and Lemmy could as well. Dave you have changed my life for the better. You've given me the two most beautiful kids ever. I also now have 3 beautiful step daughters who I love and adore, Violet, Harper and Ophelia. I also just want to say a huge thank you to Jordyn for coming today and being apart of this. You are apart fo this family and always will be. I respect you with with every piece of me. That sounds weird but it's the only way I can describe it. Hunter and Tyler, thank you for doing and amazing job tonight and I'd liek to thank you both and Kyle, Gavin and Garrett for being our band for the first part of the night. Ok I'm gonna shut up now and let Dave talk so we can all get to drinking and dancing and cake. Thank you all for coming. I love you all and Dave I love you the most," I finished and walked back to the table. Dave stood up and kissed me before he hugged me tightly. He walked over to the mic as Hunter stood up and walked to the mic as well.
"Brittany thank you for changing my life. I'm honored to introduce the man of the evening. The hero of many and the king of foos Mr. Dave Grohl," Hunter said. Dave walked over to Hunter and hugged him before he walked away.
"I just want to start off by saying I've always said I was liek Duckie from Pretty In Pink. Well I foudn my Andie with Brittany. Except in this version Duckie gets Andie, not Blaine. From the moment I laid eyes on Britt, I knew she would change my life. She says I changed hers but she changed mine. I always knew I would do this three times. I remember when I gave Jordyn my phone number, I wrote on the napkin you're my future ex wife along with my number. I never thought it would happen but that changed when I saw Britt. Britt you see the beauty in everything. You believe in magic, fairytales, and cute little things that help you cope with things like Robin Williams is stuck in a game of Jumanji and someone needs to roll a 5 or 8 or that David Bowie is an owl like the one from The Labyrinth. You treat my girls liek your own and you're amazing with them. You've opened my eyes to so much and I can't wait to share the rest of my life with you. I love all of you but I love that beautiful girl right there the most. Thank you all for coming. Enjoy the rest of the evening," Dave said and he walked back over tot he table. I stood up and hugged him before I kissed him.
"Ok everyone we're gonna get the happy couple to cut the cake and then we'll do the throwing of the bouquet and the garder toss. So Dave and Britt please ehad over to the cake and we can get the rest of the night going," Tyler said as Dave and I stood back up and headed over to the cake. Dave picked up the knife and handed it to me. I grabbed it and waited as everyone gathered around us.
"Ok you two ready to cut that cake? On the count of three. Everybody join me. 1 2 3" Hunter said into the mic and everyone counted with him and on 3 Dave put his ahnd on mine and we cut the cake.
Next came the garter toss. I sat in a chair as Dave lifted the bottom of my dress up and stuck his head up there and pulled it off with his teeth. I covered my face and peeked through my hands the whole time. When Dave threw it behind him, Taylor caught it. Now it was my turn to toss the bouquet. I stood up on the stage and tossed it behind me. I heard a scuffle and turned around to see Frances had caught it. After that we did the father daughter dance and Dave danced with his mom and then we danced the rest of the night awy and had a good old time. My band performed for the first bit and I sang on a couple of songs but I mainly danced with Dave and drank lots of champagne. Eventually Dave and the guys took voer the stage and did a few songs before the dj took over. Dave and I snuck outside for some alone time and some fresh air. I was happy and tipsy as I leaned against the side of the building.
"I love you," I said as Dave lit a smoke and came over to me.
"You're drunk," he replied as he leaned against the wall beside me.
"Love drunk," I replied with a giggle.
"No you're drunk drunk but I love you too," he replied as he leaned over to me. I looked at him as he put the smoke between us, offering it to me. I took it and had couple of puffs before handing it back. We did this a few more times.
"I can't believe we're married," I said as he finished the smoke and put it out.
"I can. Now we can start trying for baby number three. Two weeks of never leaving the bedroom except to eat and maybe show you around a bit. I can't wait," Dave replied as he put both hands on either side of me on the wall.
"Two weeks in Virginia sounds like heaven," I said as I put my arms around hsi neck. He leaned and we kissed. Our first kiss alone since we got married. I was officially Mrs Grohl and I couldn't be happier.
