The log cabin was quaint, looking like it could be mural and set upon a wall above a mantle. Snow had fallen onto the roof, it covered the land around the small building. Smoke rose from the chimney and as I drew closer to the cabin, the door opened for me.

I'd found the seer.

I held little faith in myself that I possessed the ability to find someone that didn't want to be found but the devil reminded me that I had found Brannon and he definitely did not want to be found. So with the reassurance from the devil, I found confidence and set out to find the man that might have answers. I was praying that he did.

Stepping up the few steps, I crossed the porch and walked into the darkness.

"Good afternoon Emily. I was wondering how you would cope with the snow."

The door closed behind me, sealing me into the darkness. A soft glow from the low fire lit the room a little, the seer was sitting on his chair by it for warmth. I could see he suffered the cold, the thick blanket over his lap was enough to tell me that he wasn't used to this place yet.

"Hello. You're Elstrach?"

"I am indeed. You have many questions and I suppose that maybe I could answer them."

"The devil sent me."

"And didn't bother with a visit himself? I am crushed. Please, sit with me and warm yourself."

I sat on the chair opposite him, already warm.

"How come you're here if you can't handle the cold?"

"It is all about the visions Emily. I cannot suffer a heat filled environment and be able to see well. I knew that it was important to ensure that my visions were not hindered in any way. It is imperative that things go well, otherwise we will have many issues."

Which I guess made sense, I knew little about seers other than the fact that they were rare. I'd heard whispers that they weren't meant to be roaming the earth, that they were meant to be ready to answer the questions of the angels. I guess if they were meant to be a bunch of fortune tellers for heaven's occupants then they wouldn't be on earth.

"So Emily, what would you like to know?"

"I'd like to know if it is possible to break a purity spell that has been cast."

"Of course it is. Any spell can be broken. How you do it, that is the question that you should ask."

"Okay, so how do I break a purity spell?"

The seer smiled at me, the whites of his eyes lit up by the flames from the fire place. It cast a golden hue over the young man that was huddled in blankets.

"Tell me something Emily. If you were able to break the spell, would you want to live in hell with Brannon?"

"Of course I would."

"And not in heaven with that delectable angel you were frolicking with in the club?"

Oh dear.

"How did I know that? I am a seer Emily; I see a lot of things. For the record, your indiscretion could be overlooked by comparison to Brannon's."

"Great, thanks for that."

The seer laughed, amused at my suffering. Jerk.

"What would you expect Emily? After everything that he did to get you back, it was natural for him to feel hurt and betrayed. I'm not here to play relationship counsellor but you cannot hold anything against him nor can he against you. Consider it a break in the relationship and what went on in each other's lives is no one's business."

In his hand was what looked like rocks, he moved them around on his palm as if they had a therapeutic benefit. I'd not seen them before; I couldn't say if they were in his hand or not.

"And what of life in hell? Won't you miss the perks of heaven? What did Michael offer? A top level deus, my what an achievement."

"It means little when I feel hollow without Brannon."

He threw the rocks out, they skittered through the air as if there was a table for them to land on. When they stopped, they were suspended in the air. The seer stretched forward and looked at them, smiling at the view.

"There is a positive life there Emily. It is within your grasp, you just need to reach into your mind and find the answer."

"So I will be in hell?"

"If that is where you truly want to be then yes you will be."

That wasn't much of an answer.

"I do want to be in hell with Brannon. It means that I will break the spell, I will find a path to our life together."

"And how will you stop those that wish to interfere from doing so?"

"Michael said that heaven doesn't care if Bran and I are together."

Elstrach looked at me, his eyebrow raising. Okay so maybe heaven did care about what Brannon did. As for their love and caring for me, well I doubted it. All of their words about how important infras were was out the window, all of their offers and that damned breeding program were gone. I knew it was just a ploy to make me more compliant to their greater plan. Stupidly, I had fallen for it.

I had to be smarter. I was smarter than this. I wasn't going to fall for their devious plans again. But how was I going to break the spell?

"Okay, so I'll negotiate a deal with them."

The seer continued to look at me, the slight smile on his face said to push. Push harder and find that which is sitting just at the surface.

"I can negotiate with them to break the spell."

He shook his head. Try again Emily.

"I can negotiate."

I gasped as it finally fell into place. Elstrach smiled at me and the door opened.

"Well done Emily. Have a happy life."

With a bright smile and a sense of optimism for the future, I stood from the chair.

"Thank you Elstrach."

"My pleasure." He said with a knowing smile.

I turned to the door, ready to find Brannon and tell him how good the future was going to be.
