I do not own any of the characters apart from Florence, her family and everyone else that we do not see in the original story of Divergent. All the credit goes to Veronica Roth and her amazing writing skills.
BTW if you see '_____' it means to put more meaning to the word, you know, instead of putting it sideways, I put it in '___' since I'm writing this on my IPod.

I got awaken by Peter's alarm clock.
He groaned and turned around to turn off the alarm. It was then that I realized that my head was on his chest, and his arms encircled my body. Also that our legs were intertwined and still are. I barley felt the pain now. I guess I just got used to it over the years.
When Peter turned back to look at me, he smiled. And I returned the smile.
"Did you sleep well?" he asked in a sleepy voice which made a heart beat faster.
"Yes, you?"
"Yes, since I was holding you." he then leaned down and kissed me. At first, it was just a small kiss on the lips, but it turned more passionate.
His lips moved against mine and that's when the kiss became even hungrier. Both of us wanting more. So I wrapped my legs around his waist and rolled on top of him. My hands made there way across his bare chest, feeling his muscles until my hands were knotted in his hair, making him growl with pleasure. His hands made there way across my back until they rested on the back of my thighs.
He then rolled me onto my back and got on top of me. His hands now resting on my hips. Both of us wanting more that both our bodies crashed together, trying to get as close to the other as possible.
Until there was a knock at the door. We both separated and untangled ourselves from the other. And I couldn't help the heat rushing into my cheeks. So that's what it was like to really kiss someone. It felt good. It felt more than good, more than words could express.
"Peter?" his mom's soft voice asked once she opened the door so she could put her head in the room.
"Yeah mom?"
She looked at both of us, and I could see suspicion in her eyes, but it left as soon as it came so it could have been my imagination.
"Your dad and I won't be here tonight. We have to go to Erudite for work and we won't be back until tomorrow night. Though Florence? You are free to stay the night. You can also invite Molly and Drew, since you don't have school tomorrow."
I was about to say no, because if I did stay, my parents would get pissed off again. So what was the point. I could go back to my house and get beat up like every other day and get an even more bruised jaw then I had now or stay with Peter and invite Molly and Drew and just have fun. So I knew what I'd choose.
"Thank you very much, ma'am, I would love to stay here tonight." I answered politely.
"Please, Florence, call me Margret. And you are welcome to come here whenever you like."
I gave her a warm smile and she left the room, leaving me with Peter.
"Your mom is nice, I wish mine was just like yours." I stated. Which was true, my mom was as mean as my dad, she hurts me physically too when my dad isn't there.
"Yeah, she is nice. But you don't have to stay tonight if you don't want to, I mean, I'd like you to stay, but it's your decision." he sat up and rubbed the back of his neck.
"No, honestly, I want to stay here. I like it way better than my house. And your moms right, we should invite Molly and Drew. It'd be fun."
He smiled and kissed my cheek.
"Alright, I'll go take a shower. I'm disgusting. Could you put the extra clothes on your bed so that when I'm done I can change?" I asked.
"Of course. I'll be downstairs making breakfast. And don't take too long, we don't have a lot of hot water here."
I nodded, got out of bed even though all I wanted to do was lie back down with Peter, and went into the bathroom.
I closed the door before taking off my clothes. But before I opened the shower curtain, I saw my reflection in the mirror. And that girl was not me. She did exactly what I did, but she didn't look like me. She had a huge bruise on the side of her left cheek, cut eyebrow, a cut on her collarbone and a bandage on her arm. How could someone hurt me so bad I looked like this most of the days? It wasn't fair!
I stared at my reflection a little longer. Taking in all the scars from the past, and the new cuts and bruises on my body.
After taking a deep breath, I turned away from the mirror, opened the shower curtain, opened the water to hot and got in.
The water felt good running down my skin. Though the soap didn't feel as good on my cuts, stinging ever so often. I looked down at my injured arm from the day I first met Peter. I'd have to take off the bandage to clean the wound.
Come on, do it. I kept telling myself. I sucked in my breath, and carefully took off the bandage.
My first thought was to cover it up again and never look at the wound again. My second thought was to throw up. It was the most disturbing and disgusting thing I had ever seen. All the dried blood surrounded it like a frame, brown, black and red spots were on my arm around the cut. But luckily, it wasn't infected. At least, I hoped it wasn't.
After 5 minutes, I washed my hair and body, the only part I didn't dare touch was my arm. I just didn't want to make it worse by putting soap on it.
After closing the water and wrapping myself in a towel, I headed to Peter's room. On his bed, I found a short black skirt, a white blouse that covered my arms, thank god, and fishnet tights.
Was this actually his mothers clothes?
I changed quickly in the clothes that he provided me and went to his mirror. Instead of leaving my brown hair down, I decided to tie them up in a high ponytail on the back of my head. Only leaving a lock of hair dangling on one side of my face. Unfortunately, we could still see my bruise on my cheek even if my hair was down. And since there weren't enough buttons on the shirt to cover my collarbone, we could see the cut on it.
He must of picked these clothes in particular on purpose.
After being sure I looked okay, I went downstairs.
"Good morning- Wow!" he started but then stopped, looking at me as if he had never seen anyone looking like I did, which caused me to blush.
"Uh," he snapped out of his daze and turned around to pick up a plate, "Here, I made pancakes. Well, actually, my dad did, but still, here, take them."
Pancakes, I never tasted them before. They were small, circular shaped things that seemed good. I stared at them long enough for Peter to realize.
"You never had a pancake before, or are you just fascinated by them." he raised his eyebrows at the question, but added, "I'm going to go with my first choice."
"And you're right, I've never had a pancake before. My parents said that I wasn't allowed to bake or eat them. I don't know why though."
"Well, bring your plate at the table, sit down, cut your pancake in pieces, but maple syrup on it and taste it. It's delicious, trust me."
I did exactly what he told me and he was right, it was delicious.
Once we were done, we put our plates in the sink and rinsed them.
"So, what did you think? Their good, huh?"
"Oh yes. They are. You need to teach me how to make them one day."
He chuckled, but before I could ask why, a knock came on the door and Molly and Drew came in.
"Yo!" Drew yelled, "Anyone there? Peter?"
We both came out of the kitchen, Peter first, then me, both holding hands.
Molly's eyes drifted down to our joined hands and she smirked. But it took a little longer for Drew to realize.
"Hope we didn't interrupt anything, if you know what I mean." Molly said, elbowing Drew, and she started to laugh, which was kind of like a snort.
"No, don't worry, you didn't. Anyways, ready to go to school? Can't wait to bug Christina." Peter sounded eager.
"Me too, or maybe a Stiff, that could also be fun." Drew remarked.
As we all made our way to the bus stop, I asked, "Hey Drew, Molly, wanna hang out with me and Peter after school? It would just be the 4 of us, his parents aren't there."
"Sure." they both said in harmony.
When we arrived at school, Drew, Molly and Peter would go one way, to their lockers, and I'd go the other direction, to my locker.
"Hey, see you in Math class." I told them.
"Okay, perfect." Peter answered, leaning down and placing a small kiss on my lips.
As I made my way to my locker, 2 Dauntless guys walked up beside me, one on either side. The one on my right was a head taller then me and had jet black hair with blue eyes, and 2 piercings in his left eyebrow. The one on my left was as tall as Peter, maybe even taller, with brown hair and brown eyes. I could also see a tattoo of a scorpion peeking out of the collar of his shirt.
They both smiled at me, a flirty smile. The guy with the black hair eyes lingered up and down my body, taking me in, which put me in an uncomfortable mood.
"Never saw a Candor girl look so sexy even with a bruise on her cheek." the guy on my right said, he then extended his hand, for a second I wondered why, but quickly realized it was because they shook hands as a way of greeting. So I shook it, not sure if I was doing it right.
"My names Thomas, and my friend is William, but call him Will." the other boy, Thomas, said, indicating to the boy with the black hair who had called me sexy.
"I'm Florence, pleasure to meet you both." not really. I added silently.
"You always wear clothes like the ones you're wearing now?" Will asked, with a smirk on his face. All I wanted to do was slap that smirk right off.
"No, my boyfriend gave them to me. And I have to go, sorry." I tried to walk away but Will grabbed my arm and pulled me back to his side. What was wrong with this guy? I swallowed my nervousness away, I couldn't show him I was scared. What would he think of me then?
"A boyfriend, is that it? What a lucky guy he is. Who is he, maybe I know him."
"Will, let go of her, she's clearly uncomfortable." Thomas told his friend, almost sounding bored.
But before he could answer, I heard a voice behind me.
"Hey, dude, let go of her. Now." Peter's voice.
"Oh, what are you gonna do about it huh?" Will asked turning around to see who had talked. I took that moment of distracting to yank free from his grip on my arm and go to Peter. Once I was at his side, he wrapped his arm around me and looked at the Dauntless boy who had grabbed me. A look of pure hatred. Instantly, I felt safe.
Peter took one step toward them and Will put his hands up in surrender.
"Wow dude, didn't mean to make you angry." he slowly started walking backwards, tapping his friend on the shoulder, indicating they both go. As they walked away, Peter turned towards me, concern in his eyes.
"You okay? Did he hurt you or anything. Cause I swear, if he did, he'll-"
"It's okay Peter, he did nothing." nothing yet at least, "Thank you for saving me though."
He gave me a tight smile, and grabbed my hand, "Come on, let's go get your books before class."
We walked toward my locker, hand in hand, and I felt good, no one had ever stood up for me except Peter, and I was thankful for that.
After I had my books, I closed me locker. When I turned around, Peter put his hand on my cheek, and gently pushed me against my locker, kissing me perfectly on the mouth.
I knew people were starring, because it wasn't usual to see two people kissing in the halls like this. The pressure of his mouth on mine made heat bubble up in me, like a flame lighting me up.
Everything was perfect.
Once we arrived in class, I sat in my regular seat, third row and Peter sat at the very back of the room, with some big Candor dude who always slept. Peter had fun throwing spitballs at his head and acting like it wasn't him every time the guy looked up.
Then Christina sat down beside me and blurted out, "What happened to your face. It looks like you got hit really hard." couldn't she keep her stupid Candor mouth shut!
"It's non of your business." I snapped.
She then lifted her gaze above me and hatred replaced the curiosity in her eyes. Confused, I looked up myself. And Molly, Drew and Peter were standing behind me.
I then looked back down at Christina and smirked.
"I see you probably know my friends, don't you?"
"Don't tell me you're friends with, them." she said the last word like if it was the most disgusting thing on earth.
"Oh, you want proof? I'll give you some." I looked up at Peter, arching my neck back to look up, and he got what I meant, he got closer to me, put both hands on my cheeks and kissed me. His lips lingering on mine a bit longer at the end.
When he pulled away, he smiled and I smiled back at him.
Then I looked at Christina, who was looking at me with a disgusted look on her face, and I shrugged.
The first two periods past by quickly. And by the time it was lunch, I was starving. Peter came and got me at my locker to bring me to the cafeteria with him, Molly and Drew.
The whole lunch, we all laughed our heads off, Molly telling us what she did to this Erudite guy in her Faction History Class, which involved glue and his pants ripping. It was mean, but funny.
When the final bell rang, signaling the end of the day, all 4 of us got off at the same bus stop. But as we were walking to Peter's house, I saw someone very familiar, but I had to squint to be sure who it was.
My dad.
I froze and Peter realized it, he looked at me with a questioning look.
All I could do was point a shaky finger at the direction where my dad was.
"Who's that?" Drew asked, clearly confused.
"No one, just some dude who really doesn't like Florence, just cover her and walk to my house, don't let him see her. And try not to attract to much attention okay?"
Drew and Molly nodded, but they still seemed confused.
They formed a V around me, Molly in front of me, Peter beside me, blocking my dads view, and Drew behind me.
We were able to get into his house without being caught. Once we were inside and Peter locked the door behind us, I finally calmed down.
Peter turned toward Molly and Drew and said, "Molly, get us some beer, and Drew, get the chips, we're gonna play a game." they both nodded and walked toward the kitchen, pushing each other in a friendly way.
He then turned back towards me and stared into my eyes, and I stared back. After a couple seconds of silence-except for the noise Molly and Drew were making-,he finally decided to break it.
"Who was that? Was that your father? Is that why you got scared?"
I nodded.
"Why didn't you say anything?"
"I didn't want them," I indicated toward the kitchen, meaning Molly and Drew, "to know. No one except your family, mine, Eric, you and me know who really does this to me. And I don't want anyone else to know."
He nodded, and took my hand to bring me to the couch. Once we were seated, Peter with his arm around me and I put my head on his shoulder, Molly came back in with 4 beers in her hands. Drew following her with a bucket if chips. I could already smell the vinegar chips.
When we were all seated, Peter explained the rules of the game, which was very simple. Someone would ask you truth or dare, you'd tell them which one you chose. If you picked dare, they'd give you 3 choices of doing something and you'd choose one to do. If you chose truth, they'd ask you a question and you'd have to answer truthfully, pretty much like a real Candor should do.
"Okay, I start." Molly looked at the 3 of us, and her eyes stopped on Drew, a wicked smile playing on her lips.
"Drew. Truth, or dare?"
He took a while before answering with dare.
Molly's smile drew larger.
"I dare you to..."
