Same bed but it feels just a little bit bigger now
Our song on the radio but it don't sound the same
When our friends talk about you, all it does is just tear me down
'Cause my heart breaks a little when I hear your name
Mark's breath was sharp as he flipped through his and Jack's old photo album, tears fell from his eyes, he looked at his phone seeing the lock screen which he'd never changed. Jack had a giant grin on his face and his lips pressed against the redhead's cheek. He felt his heart pounding, he looked down ashamed by being a baby. The wedding was today naturally Mark didn't want to go but he knew the Irish male would hate him if he didn't and he couldn't deal with the image of the man he loved hating him. He had nothing against Wiishu he was just jealous he wanted to be in her place, he once had and he wasted his chance.
"Stop crying man up Fishbach," Mark snapped to himself shutting the photo album with a bang, he took a deep breath. He was the best man... was Jack just trying to rub his relationship in Mark's face? The gamer sighed getting to his feet and looking at himself in the mirror. In his opinion he looked a mess, his hair was plastered to his face, his eyes bloodshot and lips dry and chapped.
"Fuck, I can't go to Seán's wedding looking like this," He sighed, he couldn't call the engaged male Jack, despite that being what his fans called him and everyone else it somehow still felt personal to Mark, like a secret between the two.
The gamer hopped into the shower in an attempt to freshen himself up - and not be caught crying as his tears blended in perfectly with the flowing water. He sat against the wall allowing the water to pool on his head and around his naked body.
"Why does this have to be so difficult... he's still my best friend I have to be happy for him," He paused and punched himself, "DAMNIT BE HAPPY FOR HIM!"
When you truly love someone you'd do anything for them - even if it meant watching them fall in love with someone else, Mark was learning this lesson as he felt his heart finally shatter. He was sick of lying, sick of hiding his emotions, the male finally accepted he was broken but for Jack he would smile and pretend everything was okay just like the good days. Wiishu didn't know how much Mark envied her, nobody knew and that's how the gamer wanted it to stay. His heart was broken but despite everything Mark plastered a fake smile across his lips refusing to allow the pain to win. No more crying.
It all just sounds like oooooh...
Mmm, too young, too dumb to realize
That I should've bought you flowers
And held your hand
Should've gave you all my hours
When I had the chance
Take you to every party
'Cause all you wanted to do was dance
Now my baby's dancing
But she's dancing with another man
Mark rubbed his bloodshot eyes and looked down at himself taking in his appearance, he was wearing a suit. He chuckled to himself lightly remembering when Jack had forced him to wear a tux for their date. The redhead nodded at himself in the mirror making sure the false smile was intact, he pulled his phone out ignoring the numerous texts from Seán saying how much he was stressed. The gamer knew it was selfish to only think about himself on his best friend's wedding day with a sharp breath he waited for Bob and Wade to come and collect him.
"Heyy it's the best man," Wade smirked knocking on the door with three brash knocks. Mark opened the door a giant smile on his face, nobody knew about Jack and Mark's relationship besides the two males. The group made their way up to the engaged male's room yelling stupid insults getting annoyed yells from the people staying in the hotel. The Irish male opened the door and he looked worse than Mark from earlier only he was dressed and he was shaking.
"Seán are you alright?" Mark asked concerned and Jack wrapped his arms around the redhead. The gamer put his hands on Seán's waist lifting him up and hugging him close before whispering encouraging in his friend's ear,
"You'll be fine, you and Wiishu were made for each other." The words although they helped cheer the male up, broke Mark even more. Wade and Bob looked at each other confused and looked at Mark and Jack even more confused.
"Let's get you to your wedding."
My pride, my ego, my needs, and my selfish ways
Caused a good strong woman like you to walk out my life
Now I never, never get to clean up the mess I made, ohh...
And it haunts me every time I close my eyes
"You may now kiss the bride," the priest smiled fondly at the couple's loving glances. Seàn dipped Wiishu and kissed his wife lovingly as she wrapped her arms around his neck.
"I love you," Jack whispered softly in her ear. The best man pretended to be happy for the newly weds. The two headed through to the dinning room for the wedding speeches and such like.
Mark sat at the top table along side Jack, he gently hut the side of his champagne glass with his fork.
"As the best man, I believe I should do my wedding speech," Mark chuckled as he caught sight of Jack nodding,
"Now as a lot of you know Seàn and I have been close friends for a long time now Wiishu you're a lucky girl you know that? Take care of Seán he's a fantastic guy, there's obviously a lot of things he didn't tell you... so I shouldn't either but if the groom will allow it, I would like to share something he never told anyone." The groom frowned knowing exactly what Mark meant however he knew that if he didn't let him people would talk, he wasn't a complete bumbum after all, the Irish male sighed and nodded allowing Mark to continue.
"Thank you Seán. Previously before Wiishu and him got together, Seán and I were dating. You heard me correctly septiplier was cannon, it was selfish and stupid of me to bring that up at your wedding and I know that of course I do but I just want Wiishu to understand how lucky she truly is." The redhead paused fighting back tears that threatened to spill from his eyes. Jack looked like he was struggling not to cry at the memory flooding into his brain.
It all just sounds like oooooh...
Mmm, too young, too dumb to realize
That I should've bought you flowers
And held your hand
Should've gave you all my hours
When I had the chance
Take you to every party
'Cause all you wanted to do was dance
Now my baby's dancing
But she's dancing with another man
The bride glanced at Mark sympathetically and even with a hint of guilt. She nodded at the best man urging him to go on. The gamer smiled softly at her before speaking again,
"I'm stupid - we all know that but with J- Seán it was different, he was everything but I was selfish and I lost him. I told him I didn't need him in my life, that he just made it worse, that I wanted to be alone... of course I was lying but that was the last time Seán and I were together and honestly I don't blame him at all, I would have broken up with me too. He found you Wiishu, someone who made him smile and someone he barely fought with and I'm not going to lie I'm jealous of you sitting there."
He choked up on his next words, he couldn't stop the tears from falling and at this point he'd given up with the 'I don't care' image,
"But Wiishu if he's ever upset cuddle him close to you and tell him everything's okay that he means everything to you. If you forget anniversaries just pretend you didn't cause no doubt Seán will have prepared incase. His loud screams from gaming can be annoying but trust me it's worth in the end because he looks adorable frustrated. But despite everything if he treats you badly come to me and I'll sort him out, I hope you two are happy together for many years to come. To Seán and Wiishu."
He held his glass mocking a toast but everyone sat there was too surprised to join in, nobody knew about their relationship and everyone was kind of touched by what Mark had said. Jack had his head on the table trying not to cry and awkwardly Mark just sat back down in his seat waiting for someone else to talk but the whole room was silent. Mark let out a few sobs but try to hide them, he knew he shouldn't have done that but he couldn't help himself.
Although it hurts
I'll be the first to say that I was wrong
Oh, I know I'm probably much too late
To try and apologize for my mistakes
But I just want you to know
The wife looked at Jack with glaring eyes as he went into to plant a small kiss on her lips, as if to show her, she was the one he loved but the female three her champagne all over him instead hissing sharply,
"Your ex and best friend is crying so instead of trying to kiss me go over and talk to him! He's important to you. I get that. Now go!" The male couldn't help but smile at his wife, she was right. Sharply he jumped up and made his way over to Mark nervously.
"Hey Mark mind if we speak somewhere else?" Jack asked and the redhead sighed and followed.
When they were out of the sight of all the guests Jack slapped Mark,
"That's for putting me in a position I obviously couldn't escape from." Then he pressed his lips against the redheads,
"And that's for what you said." The groom blushes lightly and wiped away Mark's tears and was away to speak when a voice interrupted them,
"Ah, forbidden love I use to be like that." A sliver haired female came into sight one that neither of the two recognised.
"Oh how rude of me you don't know who I am, I'm Levy call me Lev and I'll be happy to distract your wife while you two run into the sunset or whatever." A smirk spread across her lips as she saw the reaction of the two males.
"What? Anything for my fellow LGBTQA+ members," She grinned looking through a window into a different wedding. She sighed heavily before attracting her attention back to the two,
"So you in or what?"
"Mark I wish I could but I'm now a married man, I can't just leave Wiishu, you don't understand. I'm sorry." Those words stabbed through the redhead like a knife as the groom walked back into the wedding. The best man just stood there feeling his heart snap more more and more, tears spilled from his eyes.
He felt a hand on his shoulder and looked back and saw the sliver haired female with a soft sympathetic smile on her face,
"I understand what it's like - I'm in love with someone who's now married." She gestured to a sad looking female outside. Levy gave him a quick hug slipping something in his pocket before walking off muttering to Mark,
"You still have a chance - he still cares about you. You're lucky dickhead don't wear it out."
When she left he put his hand in his pocket and pulled out a card,
Good luck buster call me if you need advice - Levy
xx - xxx - xxx
Mark with a heavy sigh walked back into the room but nobody paid any mind to him everyone was lost in there own conversations and the gamer was grateful for that.
I hope he buys you flowers
I hope he holds your hand
Give you all his hours
When he has the chance
Take you to every party
'Cause I remember how much you loved to dance
Do all the things I should have done
When I was your man
Do all the things I should have done
Jack refused to speak to Mark for the rest of the wedding afraid he would break down and start crying, he couldn't let the gamer see he still had feelings for him not when he had a wife. Wiishu however knew that something was wrong with her husband and tried her best while dancing to get him to tell her,
"Seán what's wrong? And don't lie and tell me there's nothing." He didn't say anything but planted a kiss on the side of her face. The bride frowned annoyed but allowed him to do it. Meanwhile Mark was speaking to Wade and Bob finally telling them the truth.
"We always kind of knew Mark," Bob chuckled giving his friend a squeeze. Wade nodded but couldn't bring himself to say anything to his friend scared of making him cry. The gamer left and went back to his hotel room deciding he couldn't make through the whole wedding, it was too much.
The photo album for earlier that day sat on the bed, he tossed it into his suitcase and threw himself onto the bed before sending a text to Levy informing the girl that he'd left the wedding. Her reply seemed annoyed but tried to convince him to come back, only she couldn't so instead she opted to leave him alone in peace.
When I was your man
That night there was a brash knock on Mark's hotel room, he opened the door to find Jack with his eyes bloodshot and his hair messy.
"Wiishu doesn't know I'm here but... I'm sorry Mark... I just had to see you and say I'm sorry about today," He greeted.
"Hello to you too." The redhead allowed the groom to enter.
"I'm sorry for breaking your heart Mark. I do love you but we can't be together you know that but for tonight maybe we can pretend my wife doesn't have to know," Seán whispered pressing his lips against Mark's running his hand through his hair. The gamer pushed Jack away from him,
"No J- Seán I do love you but this is wrong. I'm sorry go live your life with Wiishu."
Mark and Jack after that night only ever crossed paths at meet ups but ignored each other, both males truly broken but they couldn't act on their feelings. Not when one was married, Mark sighed as he saw Seán again.
"I love you... I hope you're happy."
