"Lin? You're fostering me?" I was dumbfounded, he had enough on his plate, what with Hamilton and Moana and he had a kid, he couldn't take in a 15 year old.
"Well, not me personally, come on, it will be easier if I just show you, do you have everything packed?" He asked looking into the Walters house.
"Yeah!" I said holding up my suitcase, "I'm good to go!"
"Seriously? I've never met a 15 year old who could fit all of her clothes into one suitcase." I giggle a little, "man the girls are going to have a field day with you, come on."
"Um, excuse me." Mrs. Walter appeared, "just a fair warning, kids a handful." She gripped my arm. "We couldn't even keep her for 6 months without her throwing a giant party, getting drunk and wreaking the house." Lin half stepped inside.
"That weird, I got a call from DHS saying that I needed to pick her up due to unsafe living conditions. Abigail, are you drunk?"
"No. I've never had alcohol."
"Yep, that's what I thought."
"Of course she would say that, she still wreaked the house." I rolled my eyes.
"I highly doubt that, probably because your son is obviously quite drunk, there's a broken vodka bottle on the ground, also, wait." he moved my face to face him, "which one of you hit her?" I looked down, but his hand still held my head up. " We should go, I have some people for you to meet." He motioned to the black town car parked in front of the Walters house. As I walked out, I looked behind me, to see Lin flip Mrs. Walter off, she deserved that. I walked to the car and got in, I couldn't believe what was happening to me, this was something that I never could of imagined in my wildest dreams.
We pulled up in front of the Richard Rodgers 15 minutes later, and I was a little confused, I turned to Lin and asked, "what are we doing at the theatre? It's like midnight." He didn't say anything, he just smiled and led me through backstage, and up 3 flights of stairs. We finally landed in a room painted blue and white, with a twin bed, and a kitchen counter with cabinets and a fridge, there was an adjoined bathroom and closet. In the room, there was a small black keyboard and a little love seat sofa.
"This is where you'll be staying, it's an old dressing room that we don't need, the fridge and cabinets are stocked, and it's perfectly safe, your door locks as does the theatre, before you go to bed though, there is something that I have to explain to you." He said leading me downstairs, we arrived in the house of the theatre where the entire lead cast of Hamilton sat up on the stage. I'm going to be honest that I almost fainted. This was a dream come true and I couldn't believe I was living it. "Ok, I'm going to assume that you know who they are, but they want to meet you, come on!" He led me onstage and had me sit down in between him and Jasmine. "Alright guys you know what to do!" Lin said.
"I'm Jasmine, I play Peggy and Maria. You can call me Jazzy"
"I'm Anthony, I play John Laurens and Phillip, so I get to die a lot."
"I'm Daveed , I play Lafayette and Jefferson."
"Hi! I play Angelica and my names Renée."
"I'm King George the 3rd and I play Jonathan." A look of confusion passed over Jonathans face but Chris was already introducing himself.
"I'm Chris, and I play George Washington"
"I'm Leslie, I play Aaron Burr."
"Ok so my names Okieriete, but no one calls me that, so please refer to me as Oak, oh and I play Madison and Mulligan."
"I'm Phillipa, but I go by Pippa, and I'm Eliza!" Lin nudged me obviously with his elbow, meaning for me to introduce myself.
"Umm... Hi! My name is Abigail, I'm 15, I'm a sophomore at Beacon I like to sing?" What am I supposed to be doing? It's been a crazy day, "guys thank you this is the greatest moment of my life, thank you so much." I broke down crying after getting that out. Leslie walked one and sat next to me, hugging me.
"Don't cry, there isn't a reason to cry anymore, you don't live in an abusive home, all of us love you, don't be sad, you have a family now, you're a Hamilton now. Abigail Hamilton.
"Tomorrow we're going to have a press conference, we're going to left everyone know that we're adopting!" Pippa chimed in.
"You're also taking her shopping." Lin told Pippa, "she has one suitcase of clothes."
"Yeah, we're definetly going shopping tomorrow."
A half hour later, they had all left and for the 1st time in 2 years, I slept knowing that I was safe.
