<><>Ash's POV<><>

It worked. They're here. This is it.

The darkness has finally found us. And we need to repel it with light.

I call on my powers, remembering the advice Serena had given me. Limitless strength surges throughout every fiber in my body.

The aura shines brightly in the palms of my hands, floating in front of them. Right now, I control this space. Aura is my weapon, and is all around me!

Instead of a straight beam, however, I shift my arm to the side and gradually release the aura as I swipe my arm in front of me. This creates a wide arc, so they can only dodge by jumping or going under.

I had experimented the different ways I could potentially use aura, and found a variety of them. They could be utilized as platforms rather than for battling, in some cases.

What I did during the battle with Wolvarak was only one of the many uses possible. I'm more than enough prepared, to say the least.

Back to the fight.

Shadow Primia, with a dark energy surrounding it, is no longer an elegant gold and white color. Where the gold would be is now purple, and where the white would be is now black.

The orb floating near its tail has turned ominous. The normally bright shades of the rainbow shards are dull, almost as if they're tainted by darkness. Which, most likely, they are.

With a swipe of its serpentine tail, Primia cuts through the aura, protecting Darkrai and itself from the attack.

"We need to separate them," I breathe. "I can take Darkrai. You take down Primia, or at least render it vulnerable."

This is why you humans are so... naïve. We are all-powerful. You are not. Do you honestly think you are able to defeat us?

I growl. "We beat Wolvarak. We can beat you, too."

Darkrai laughs, a sound like nails scraping against a chalkboard. In theory, Primia is supposed to be of equal strength with Wolvarak. It's even stronger when Shadowed. And now, you're also facing another me.

I grimly smile. "Don't underestimate us."

With that, I shout, "Serena! Let's go!" I create an aura line straight between Darkrai and Shadow Primia. "Right now," I say, "your opponent is me."

Keeping up with Darkrai consumes a lot of energy. I'm constantly having to dodge and attack, dodge and attack. There's no time to see how Serena's holding up on her side.

Anyways, I trust her. There's definitely no way she'll lose now.

You, boy, are a persistent one, aren't you? Even when faced with death, you do not falter.

I stay concentrated, trying not to let its words get into my head too much. It'll trick me. I need to stay focused.

A Dark Pulse is unleashed directly my way, fast. Without thinking, I create a barrier directly in front of me, blocking the attack and canceling both moves.

Whilst recovering, I summon aura at the bottom of my feet and suddenly jerk it upwards, causing me to jump extremely high. Midair, I fire a bolt of the pure force at Darkrai's head, but it evades.

Is this all you've got? Though I must admit, you are more skillful since the last time we had crossed paths.

I clench my teeth, falling through the air as the wind roars in my ears. I create a line of aura- which I grab- and command it to tie around Darkrai's arm.

What the-

With all of my might, I yell out a determined shout as I swing the Pokémon around and smash it into the earth.

Whew, glad I trained.

I roll when I hit the ground, thus thankfully breaking the fall. Instantly, I dodge my enemy's Night Slash just as it arises.

Good, but my recovery abilities are far superior than the likes of a human's. Give up!

I will the aura to form a sword.

I admit, when I was younger, I used to fantasize many things, including wielding a sword alike a Gallade.

Well, Younger Ash, your dream has come true.

I had practiced with Serena as she transformed into Leafeon and used her Leaf Blade. It was fairly dangerous, and we learned that the hard way. But the results were still amazing.

I had become fitter, faster, stronger. I felt like I could do anything.

Oh? My, my, what is this? Are you sure you can handle that?

I charge at my opponent, the lightness of the aura making it easy to wield the weapon. The legendary counterattacks with Night Slash.

But its strength is overwhelming. There's only so much a human can do, after all. I'll have to resort to cleverness, rather than brute force.

Clashing swords with Darkrai, my sword horizontal and Darkrai's move vertical, I quickly shift to the left side, bringing my blade with me as the Night Slash swings downward. I use the opportunity and cut Darkrai's side, with a safe jump backwards following.

Hah... hah... That was unexpected. Truly.

But...

Unfortunately, I had originally though it was injured, so it would take a little bit of time to regain its former health. During this, I had slightly let my guard down, and the Pokémon zoomed forward, knocking me yards back.

The impact of the landing knocked the breath out of me, and I wheeze and cough for a few moments.

You're still not fit for fighting, it says. Unlike the girl, who I undoubtedly commend her for her natural talent.

I sit up, completely vulnerable. Darkrai stands before me, menacing. The creature of nightmares charges its power, and at point blank range, it'll be near possible for me to survive.

Even so... "Don't..." I mutter. "Don't... underestimate me!"

Though my strength is sapped from the blow, I give one, last effort with the remaining energy I have to attack. I thrust my sword out, and it digs into Darkrai's chest.

GROHHHHH!

The Pokémon roars in pain, stumbling backwards. Still trying to catch my breath, I pant and wait for my senses to return.

Though I dealt a heavy toll on Darkrai, I have the same level of injuries as it does. And what's worse is it's right. In one sense, anyways. I can't recover as fast as Darkrai.

"All-powerful, huh?" I murmur. "That's not true. You... you can be stronger than someone else... but there will always be something that brings... brings you down a notch."

Still seething with pain and rage, Darkrai manages to question, how... how so?

"Wolvarak told me itself," I say, louder this time as I regain my voice. "And... they were wise words to follow by, even for the Pokémon of the End."

What are you going on about, human?

"It was only completing its task. It doesn't mean it wanted to be evil. I guess I understand that now."

What's your point?

"Well, that doesn't mean everything it says is wrong, too, right? So I can follow its words."

"And those were..."

"Every being in this world possess a fatal flaw. And that... that includes you, too."

====================

Bleh, sorry if you're not into sword fighting. I'm a total fan of it. (Yes, I watch shounen anime.) I just that Ash needed something cool, so there you go.

If you think the fight's near over 'cause of all that talk, you're wrong! There's much more to it! So stay tuned for the next couple chapters!

Btw, thank you very much for 2.5k reads! And (VERY CLOSE) 200 votes! (Like, I'm 1 vote off. WHO SHALL BE THE 200TH VOTER?!)

Hope you enjoyed! :)
