Mike woke up with the worst hangover imaginable. He couldn't recall much from the night before. After Doll dragged him to the bar, everything was a blur. His head pounded and nausea filled his body. He groaned and sat up, going to use the bathroom. He glanced at himself in the mirror and turned pale at the sight of a hickey.
"Shit.." He mumbled, trying to wipe it away as if that would work. "God, fuuuuck me!" He knew Jeremy would kill him if he saw. Especially after he promised him that she wouldn't lay a finger on either of them.
"Damnit, damnit, damnit!" Mike growled, pushing something off the sink in rage. Doll would pull some shit like this. His mood switched from extreme anger to guilt and depression. There was no way Jeremy would stay with him after this. He looked into his eyes and immediately hated himself. He saw a stray tear fall from his eye. He wiped it away quickly as he heard the doorbell ring. His heart leaped as he rang to see who it was.
Jeremy.
He held a hand over the mark in hope that Jeremy wouldn't notice. He opened the door slowly to be greeted with a truly devastating sight.
Jeremy, puffy eyes that were bagged with purple liner. His hair was messier than usual and his red face showed that he'd been crying.
"Jere, what's wrong?" Mike went to hug him.
"Y-You promised.." Jeremy whimpered.
"Wha-"
"You fucking promised you wouldn't let her touch you!" Jeremy yelled, grabbing the attention of neighbors. Mike was in complete shock. He had no clue as to how he knew.
"B-Buddy and Scott saw you last night.." Jeremy sniffed, "You promised.."
Mike took his hand off his neck, knowing Jeremy probably knew already. "I'm sorry, Jere. I-I was drunk and I.. You know I didn't mean it."
"Then why didn't you stop her! You let her give you a fucking hickey, and you both know damn well you're in a relationship! That's not okay, Mike!" Jeremy screamed.
Mike tried to stay calm. "I know it's not and I'm sorry but if you just listen to me-"
"What is there to listen to? Your lies? Your sneaky little tactics? Your drunk ass excuses?! We're done, Mike!" Jeremy began to walk away.
"Jeremy please just hear me out!" Mike followed him.
"What the fuck do you want?" Jeremy growled.
"I'm sorry." Mike was now crying. "You're right. You're so fucking right. I shouldn't have let her buy me anything and I'm so sorry. I did it for you.. She threatened to kill you if I didn't."
Jeremy suddenly felt pity. He knew he had overreacted a bit, but he didn't know anything about the threat.
"I-I didn't know.." Jeremy stuttered out.
"I should've told you but I didn't want to scare you." Mike admitted. Jeremy reached up, kissing Mike passionately. Mike kissed back. It was no secret that this was what they both needed.
