It's September 2nd, and I'm still suffering from nightmares. Drinking tea doesn't work; the only thing that helped two weeks ago was Satoru. That morning I woke up alone in my room, but I had rested enough to continue my routine.
Training has continued, and I've been fighting curses with the first and second-year students. Satoru, who often travels a couple of times a week, leaves me in charge of them along with Ijichi or Nitta on some missions.
It makes me feel confident that Satoru already knows about the events of October 31st; I know he'll take action. Plus, my hard training has paid off, so I'm more efficient with the sword and using my technique: reality manipulation.
I try to maintain an active and positive attitude in front of the boys, so even if they see my dark circles, they don't think it's because of poor sleep... right? It might just be because I simply stay up late.
Ash, I don't even believe that myself.
Anyway, we're in the car with Ijichi driving, the kids in the backseat, and me in the passenger seat. We received a mission; apparently, a group of curses has gathered in an abandoned school, causing trouble for nearby houses.
When I get out of the car, I receive a call from Satoru.
"Moshi moshi" I answer. I hear his voice responding enthusiastically. I smile.
"I'll be arriving at your location in a few minutes" he informs "I know you'll have everything covered by the time I arrive~~ I laugh at his words.
- Alright, see you soon~
"Y/n~, shall we have lunch together today? he asks, and I feel my heart racing "I miss going out with you~"
"Of course, darling" I reply, and then I realize what I just said. Satoru chuckles softly on the other end of the line. My cheeks start to flush, and I'm left speechless.
We end the call, hearing his voice lifts my spirits a bit. I sigh. Our relationship, if it can be called that, still doesn't have a name.
Satoru takes care of me, and by his side, I feel protected. However, beyond kisses, hugs, or caresses, we haven't really been able to talk and put a name to this relationship. He's away most of the time, putting in too much effort when he dedicates a couple of hours to me. And I'm also very busy.
A yawn escapes my lips, and I stretch a bit before approaching the boys who are talking to Ijichi.
"What happened, Y/n?" Panda asks.
"Satoru called" I reply, and I see Ijichi tense with fear but quickly compose himself "he said he'll be here in a few minutes."
The students nod.
"Ijichi, can you put up the curtain?"
The man nods at my words as I head to the school with the boys.
Instantly, several curses start to appear and attack us. Maki and Panda start taking care of the first three curses.
"They're not a big deal" Maki says aloud as she finishes off one.
"Yeah, they're at least third-grade" Panda warns.
"Then Toge and I will enter this part of the school" I comment "if we manage to get the first-grade curse, the first round of sushi it's on you guys!"
"Shake!
Toge nods at the challenge along with Maki and Panda, so we split up.
Inside the school, a chill runs through me, and I share a look with Toge. Ah, he felt it too.
I think we're in the right building. We run through the hallways and enter the classrooms without finding anything; that's when we decide to go upstairs.
When we reach the top floor, we find it.
"Ikura" I hear Toge cursing beside me.
Oh yes, this is going to be difficult.
It's a huge curse with sharp tentacles at the tips, it has a bunch of small eyes on what seems to be its face. Disgusting, and it has a dark color that shines, giving it a slimy appearance.
The curse sees us and immediately launches its sharp tentacles at us. We split up, Toge to one side and me to the other.
Something tells me this isn't a first-grade curse; this curse is special grade.
It throws a burst of the dark liquid it secretes from its body that we dodge again. My attention goes to the ground where the liquid has fallen: it's steaming...
Oh, it's acid.
We have to get out of this room; this curse is too big, and we don't have much room to fight in this classroom.
"Toge, I don't want it to move!" I warn, and the boy understands my words.
"Don't move!" he shouts, and as soon as I see the curse still, I place my hands on the floor.
A clear trail surrounded by a soft lilac tone covers the floor beneath us and the curse. I concentrate and close my eyes.
When I open them, we're downstairs in the central courtyard of this school, outdoors.
Much better.
I stand up, and suddenly, I feel dizzy. Oh, fatigue from lack of good sleep. I exhale; I have to endure this.
I draw my sword and lunge at one of its tentacles. I cut one with my sword, being careful not to let the viscous acid it secretes touch me.
I stumble back a bit; the curse goes for my attack, taking advantage of my slip, but Toge shouts:
"Explode!" and several tentacles burst, including the one that was going to attack me, leaving an explosion of liquid all around.
I cover my face with my forearm, and several drops hit my arms and legs. Tch, it hurts.
I hear Toge cough, and I see a trickle of blood running from his lips to his neck.
"Wait, Toge!" I ask, attacking the curse again, getting rid of two tentacles.
My breathing has become heavier; the use of my cursed energy with my technique and transportation has exhausted me a lot due to my lack of rest. However, I don't stop, and I aim towards its head, my sword wielded with all my strength.
My scream for the attack I was making is interrupted by a lash from one of the tentacles, throwing me into the air, and instantly, I feel a sharp pain in my side, so strong that my breath stops.
"Y/n!" I hear someone shout my name as I fall.
I squeeze my eyes shut, expecting to crash into the ground.
I didn't think this would be my end.
Haa~ I'm tired.
I seem to hear Maki and Panda's voices in the distance. I don't know if I'm losing consciousness from the pain. My whole body burns from the acid I've been exposed to.
Instead of falling onto a hard surface, something soft, very soft, cushions my fall.
"Y/n, react!" it's Panda; I open my eyes heavily.
"It's... it's special grade" I murmur weakly and emit a groan from the effort "b-be careful."
"We know!" he exclaims, shaking me a bit when I close my eyes. "Try to hold on!"
I barely nod my head when I feel Panda turning with the intention of putting me aside:
"What do we have here~~? Mmm" Satoru has arrived; his voice shows his characteristic enthusiasm and a hint of mockery "Huh? Y/n?"
My eyes open, and in a blurry way, I see his figure, it must be because of the blood I've lost and the pain... I feel... so cold.
I know Panda murmurs something to the albino; Satoru's voice sounds alarmed but distant. I see him closer, and I suppose I'm in his arms when I lose consciousness.

I'm sorry for the late update. I was studying, 😄 now I was looking some posts in my IG and I saw a post about Satoru going with Geto, Nanami, Haibara, Amanai and Kuroi into the airplane.

I was so hopeless, and right now I'm not even sure if that was a fanart. The point is Gege updated JJK manga with a new chapter and Satoru did appear in a flashback... but that's all.
I mean, I'm so tired of Gege playing with me about Satoru. It's so unfair 😫😫😡😡😤😤😤😓😭😭😭🤧🤧
