We were hiding behind a tree, a patrol led by Kikimora was entering the tunnels to Eclipse Lake.
"Why're we hiding?" I asked "And why's her patrol here already?"
"Heh I might have some explaining to do" Y/N chuckled softly "So we've just gotta get the blood before Kiki, then Belos will think I'm useful, and my work won't have amounted to nothing!"
Her eye twitched a bit.
"...right" I said
Suddenly something fired at the tree we were hiding behind, and we slid our scout masks back on. A heard a scout ask Kikimora if everything was alright. She answered with, 'I thought I heard an annoying voice'. Kiki never liked me. Y/N grabbed my hand, I felt my face go hot, and she started to run.
"Where are we going?" I asked as we ran
"To find another way in, clearly Kiki isn't gonna let us slip by" Y/N explained
We paused behind another tree, which stood over the ditch. I saw three figures walking through it.
"The owl lady, her dog, and the....youngest Blight?" Y/N murmured
I could hear the owl lady talking about the titan blood. So they were looking for it too, Y/N and I just had to get to it first. The Blight said something about the human, so was that who they were collecting it for?
Y/N leaned forward to get a closer look, but lost her balance and fell. Our hands were still linked, so I plummeted down with her. The snow blanketing the ground broke our fall, but only a bit.
"Ow-" I muttered, sitting up
I realized that we'd fallen right in front of the owl lady's group.
"Two coven scouts!" Amity, I think that was her name, said, making a spell circle with her hand and summoning a purple flame.
Y/N put her hands up, and nudged me to do the same, which I did.
"Yep, we are but humble scouts, and we surrender" Y/N said, she didn't sound all that convincing
"Well that was easy" The dog said, sounding almost surprised
The owl lady pointed her staff at us "Not so fast, King" she said "Don't you recognize that annoying voice?"
Y/N glanced to me "Why does everyone say that...?" I murmured
"Don't worry, I don't think your voice is annoying" Y/N spoke so that only I could hear "Also, run."
She started booking it in the other direction, I stumbled to my feet and dashed after her.
"Don't let them get away!" I heard the owl lady behind us
I felt abomination goo wrap around the both of us, pulling us awfully close to eachother. My face went hot. The owl lady's group caught up with us, and took our masks from our faces.
"This is none other than the golden guard and-" the owl lady was cut off my Amity
"She's a lot....younger.....than I'd imagined" Amity commented
Y/N stuck her tongue out at Amity in annoyance
"And her little boiling sea buddy too?" King chimed in
"It was one time!" I protested
"Anyways, you're coming with us." the owl lady said, and pushed us to our feet with her staff
"We're tied together how are we supposed to...?" Y/N commented
Amity growled and shifted the goo a bit so we were more side-by-side, and able to walk.

We walked through the caves, it was the third time the owl lady had screamed 'hoot' and ran into a wall at top speed. It was getting on my nerves, and by her face, it was getting on Y/N's too. We walked through the hole in the broken wall.
"Did I do it? Did I go harpy mode?" the owl lady asked eagerly
King narrowed his eyes. "Nope, you just screamed 'hoot' and ran headfirst into a wall of ice. "Pretty funny actually"
Amity had her staff pointed at Y/N and I, her eyes cold and narrow, even though we were tied up.
"You can put down the staff, we won't run, I mean, how can we?" Y/N said sarcastically
"Too bad, I don't trust you two" Amity said, her tone not betraying any emotion but frustration, and some sort of worry.
The owl lady and King walked ahead, looking at old mining equipment, I'd read about it before. "Huh. This stuff is old" the owl lady said, looking around.
"Ancient witches used to mine the veins for titan blood-" I began, but was interrupted by Amity
"They're not paying attention" she said flatly
I looked back to the owl lady and King. King stood on a drill, the owl lady in front of it
"Go on, fire it!" she said to king "Maybe the adrenaline will kick in, and bam, harpy Eda!"
That woman was out of her mind.
"Sounds perfectly safe!" King said, as he aimed the drill
He prepared to fire, "Wait no-" I said, but it was too late.
The laser beam missed Eda by an inch, and bounced off the wall, then another wall, then another, it kept bouncing around the caves, which didn't absorb it because they were made from the veins of the titan.
The laserbeam approached Amity, but she took more abomination goo and wrapped it inside.
"This isn't a normal cave!" I said to Eda and King
"The walls are made from the veins of the titan!" Y/N finished my sentence, and shot me a light smile, it made my face go hot again.
"Any magic you shoot will bounce right back at you!" I finished
The owl lady grinned "You two must be fun at parties." she commented, then turned back to King "Hey King how about you use your new powers to echolocate the lake?"
So the dog had powers. Strange.
"Okay!" King said, then jumped from the drill and walked in front of another tunnel, took a deep breath in and screeched "WEH"
I flinched at the loud sound, as the sound waves around him seemed to bend almost.
King turned and shrugged.
"Those two are definitely gonna get us caught" Y/N muttered
Amity nudged Y/N and I with her staff "There is no us, now keep walking"
Y/N shrugged and we continued to walk.

"At least I'm not delusional enough to think I can turn into a harpy" Y/N muttered, Eda had decided to voice her opinions on her and I.
Eda turned and hissed.
"Come on, give it a rest you three" King said, with narrowed eyes
"Yeah, listen to your rat" Y/N said
King jumped onto her head and started to yank at her hair, she screeched.
Amity reached out a hand and quieted the two of them, King stopped yanking her hair, and returned to Eda's shoulder. We all walked forward to see a ledge, below was Kiki's patrol. I turned to Y/N her hair was ruffled, but she looked cute.
The patrol stopped.
"Why have we stopped?" Kiki said, if any voice was annoying, it was hers "Is it the golden guard and her little boyfriend?"
My face went hot, and I could see Y/N's face looking as red as a strawberry.
"Boyfriendddd?" Eda grinned, looking to Y/N and I
"Shutup, or I swear to the titan I'll tell the emperor where you live-" Y/N was interrupted by Amity pointing a staff to her throat
"Try me" Amity growled
Y/N shrugged, and turned back to the cave "Kiki's blocking the way."
"We could create a distraction" I suggested
"WE SHOULD CREATE A DISTRACTION" Eda said, loudly, like the idea was her own
She dashed off in the other direction "You kids wait for my signal"
She was gone, leaving Y/N and I with Amity.
"Huh that was easy" Y/N said, sitting down and dragging me with her since we were bound by the abomination goo still. "When they're caught, we can all take the titan blood for ourselves."
Amity turned to face us, angry "Stop talking like we're a team!"
"We might as well be" Y/N continued "The owl lady and her pet have nothing at stake, unlike all of us."
"You have no idea what your talk--" Amity was interrupted by a sound that sounded like a cat mewing. "I was going to say you have no--" the sound went off again
She pulled a yellow cat shaped device out of her pocket.
Y/N stood up and walked up behind her, dragging me with her. "Oof...that doesn't look good" I said, looking over Amity's shoulder
"Stay back!" Amity said, before hesitating as we stepped back, then saying "But what doesn't look good."
I shrugged "It seems clear to me. 'Come back with results or else...' you can figure out the rest"
Amity turned "No. Luz wouldn't make that kind of threat." So it was the human she was talking to. "I'm an awesome girlfriend" she continued, she sounded almost unsure of herself
"Has she ever told you that?" Y/N commented "We have a lot in common, Blight. We're both trying to show what we can bring to the table. And we can't fail because there's nothing worse than disappointing someone who thinks you're special."
I'd never seen Y/N like this. She was usually sweet, and encouraging towards everyone. But since the reveal that her days as golden guard were numbered it seemed like she was being cold towards everyone but me. It worried me, I wondered if she was alright.
Amity was looking at the ground, then fired into the cave where Kiki's patrol was, and signaled for us to run. She made a dash for another cave, followed by Y/N and I. Soon we were met by Eda and King running by our side.
"Why didn't you wait for our signal?" Eda asked asked as we ran
"We don't have time to play around" Amity said. I could tell that Y/N's words had gotten to her. "We are getting that titan blood"
As we ran I noticed the yellow device slip from Amity's pocket, and drop to the ground, but we continued running. We reached a tunnel, which led to a clearing full of fools blood.
"Is this titan's blood?" Amity thought aloud "But eclipse lake is farther ahead..."
King jumped off of Eda's shoulder "Who cares? We did it!" he said sounding excited
"Stop!" I yelled "Thats fools blood! Don't touch it."
"Oh so you can keep it all for yourself?" Eda said with a grin "Hard pass!"
She whacked a vein of fools blood with her staff. A large chasm opened in the ground, and King and Eda plummeted inside.
