"Hurry !" I said as I drag Brandon away from the mirror. "You look good, and I bet you've been watching yourself longer than the bride would."
"Sorry I'm just nervous." He said.
I chuckled. "Brandon Walter? Nervous?"
He rolled his eyes. "Don't worry, I will have my revenge on your own wedding day too." He said.
Yup. Today is the most awaited wedding of Brandon Walter and Devon Mcknight. Devon is my EX-GIRLFRIEND and Brandon is my BESTFRIEND. I know it sucks, but what else can I do? They have proven their love for each other, and it hurts to admit but, their love for each other is much stronger than the love I felt for her. Sure I did love her... so much, but I still wouldn't miss their wedding and locked myself into my room. Looking pathetic would be the last thing I would do.
"Hey, what are you thinking?" Brandon said, we were now on the car going to the church.
"Nothing, you should mind your own business, specially your wedding."
He got serious. "Thanks man." He said.
"You owe me big time." I said honestly. Brandon is a jerk, but I can't bring myself to hate him completely.
"I know, but always remember that I will always be here for you." He said, turning his body faced to mine. I saw the driver peaked from the rear view mirror.
I laughed. "don't say it like that. Your driver might think that we're gay." The driver chuckled and put his eyes back on the road.
Brandon laughed too. "I'm just saying that I love you." He said teasingly.
"But seriously... do I look good?"He asked.
I rolled my eyes. "Do you really want me to say that you look gorgeous?" I said raising an eyebrow.
"We're here, sir." The driver said.
Brandon exhaled loudly. "Why am I being so nervous?" he questioned himself.
We entered the sanctuary. Guests are already there. The parents of the bride and groom are chatting. All of the other people who witnessed their love story are present as well.
The girls greeted me with their smiles. When I say girls I meant the three pretty ladies that are Devon's best friends. Mizzy, Edhen and Pat together with their boyfriends, I guess.
Now all we need to do is to wait for the bride to arrive.
We are all waiting but Brandon on the other hand is getting on my nerves for walking back and forth.
"Would you stop that?" I said.
"What if... she backs out?" he asked.
I rolled my eyes and punched on the side.
"OW!"
"Serves you right, now stop being a jerk and sit down."
He did and it's like a cue cause loud whispers filled the place.
"The bride is here." The wedding coordinator informed us. By the way, I'm the best man.
Brandon sighed in relief. The music started when they saw the bride. Her gown fits her perfectly. It was simple but elegant. Showing off some curves. Her veil covers slightly her beautiful face. The entourage walked in slowly and finally Devon.
The music continued as the bride walks towards us. She is smiling looking at her groom. Brandon is doing the same with her Bride. She finally arrived below the altar where we were waiting. Brandon and her father shook hands as Dave gave her hands to Brandon.
"If you hurt her, I will kill you." Dave said.
"Dad!" Devon said pouting and raising an eyebrow to her father. Brandon and I both chuckled.
The wedding went on smoothly or should I say... romantically. We went on to the reception, dancing and chatting with others. The three girls took turns on dancing with me. They said I looked so pitiful having no date, so they took the liberty on dancing with me.
The music changed.
"Can I have this dance?" I jerked my head back, it's Devon. I looked at Brandon and he nodded. "don't worry." She said and wrapped her arms around my neck and so I did on her waist.
She smiled at me. "Thanks."
"For what?" I said as we dance with the music.
"For everything... for being here."
"No big." I said and patted her head.
We danced until Brandon took her away from me, but this time there is no hurt.
The newly weds now left for their honeymoon and the guests are slowly departing from the venue. I bid my goodbyes to my three favorite girls.
I didn't went back to my apartment, instead I traveled to another town, much farther away.I need to unwind, time for myself and refreshed.
