"MOTHERFUCKER!" Akshara yelled, pulling on Abhimanyu's collar and putting her nose up against his. She paused as the pain from the contraction subdued before she fell back against the bed.
Akshara took a few deep breaths, trying to huff and puff her way through the agonizing pain.
"Baby!" Abhimanyu exclaimed, looking up nervously at the doctor and nurses assisting in Akshara's delivery of the Gynecology department of Birla Hospital.
They looked away from Abhimanyu, avoiding eye contact with him but he could tell from their demeanor that they were snickering at him. Yeah, his respect and stature as CEO of the Birla Hospital was about to about to take a nosedive.
"What?!" Akshara growled like the big bad wolf just as she felt another contraction oncoming.
"Language, baby!" Abhimanyu tried to play it calm, trying it to rile Akshara up more than she already was. He knew she was in an immense amount of pain and he knew there wasn't much he could do to help her other then offer her words of affirmation and support.
"DON'T CALL ME BABY! THE ONLY BABY HERE IS THE ONE I AM TRYING TO PUSH OUT OF ME. AND DON'T LANGUAGE ME YOU MOTHERFUCKER!" Akshara stopped mid sentence and took a few more deep breaths trying to breathe through the mini contractions rocking through her body. "I am your baby's mother, and you fucked me to get me into this position, so yes, you are a MOTHERFUCKER!" Akshara explained as she took deep breaths waiting for the onset of another contraction.
Abhimanyu sighed, "Do you ever stop being logical?"
"Really? You want to fight about that —now?!"
Before Abhimanyu could muster a response, Akshara closed her eyes and yelled in agony again, gripping and squeezing on Abhimanyu's hands tightly.
"It hurts so much, Abhi." Akshara's voice broke and she felt exhausted having been in labour for the past 20 hours.
"I know baby, I know." Abhimanyu's eyes softened as she sat beside her. "Just a few more pushes, baby. You are doing great." He willed her, kissing her hand.
"I just want to see our baby." She cried.
"I know, me too. Me too." He kissed her forehead just as another contraction hit her.
"Ooh! One more push, Mama, I see the head! He's crowning! One more push and he will be all yours!" The doctor exclaimed, preparing Abhimanyu and Akshara for the arrival of their baby boy.
"Come on, Akshu, you can do it!" Abhimanyu kissed the top of her forehead.
"Don't call me that you, Dumdum!" She growled, tears rolling down her helpless eyes.
"Sorry, sorry, sorry!" Abhimanyu apologized.
"Akshara. Push, baby. Push." He pressed her on, supportingly.
"Ahhhh! I swear to God, if you come near me after this, I will cut your dick off, chop it into a million pieces and shove it up your AAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!" Akshara closed her eyes, give one large cry of pain just before she heard the soft cries of their baby.
Akshara let out a sigh of relief as she fell back against the hospital bed. Abhimanyu went to go see his baby boy as the nurses were cleaning him up.
"Here you go, Daddy. Cut the umbilical cord." The doctor informed Abhimanyu.
Abhimanyu looked at Akshara before looking back at the baby they both created. Tears of happiness prickled his eyes as his shaky hands took a hold of the scissors.
Wiping away his tears, he snipped the umbilical cord before the nurses took the baby away to check his vitals.
Abhimanyu went back to his wife, holding her hand. He kissed her on the lips, unwilling to get go of her hand. He wiped her damp hair away from her forehead before pressing his lips to hers again, overwhelmed with emotion.
"You did it, Baby. You did it." He whispered, pride and respect shining in his eyes.
"How does he look?"
"Beautiful." His eyes sparkled with admiration, and affection as he stared at the strongest woman in front of him.
"I am sorry about what I said about chopping your dick off..." Akshara apologized.
"Oh, it's okay. I know you can't live without sex, you sexual deviant. I had a hard time keeping up with your hormones during these nine months as it was." He teased.
"Shut up." Akshara's cheeks flushed.
Just then, a nurse brought out their baby boy and handed him over to Akshara. Akshara placed the baby boy next to her bare chest, holding him close. Abhimanyu and her kissed the top of his head, in utter awe of the tiny little human being.
"He has 10 fingers." Akshara whispered, looking at Abhimanyu joyously as she held onto his tiny fingers.
"And 10 toes." Abhimanyu counted, kissing their baby's toes, looking at the two most important people in his life.
"I can't believe we made this." Akshara had barely whispered, those words out of her mouth when she felt another sharp pain rise in her belly which seemingly felt like another contraction.
"Ahhhhh!" She screamed, making Abhimanyu panicked.
"Akshara! Akshara!" He then turned around to look at the doctor for explanations. "What is going on?" He demanded.
The doctor looked down under the covers to see another round head crowning along Akshara's lining.
"Another baby! You both are having another baby." The doctor announced.
Akshara and Abhimanyu looked at each other confused as Abhimanyu pulled their baby out of Akshara's arms and handing him over to the nurse so they could attend to the matter at hand.
"What do you mean by another baby?" Abhimanyu asked.
"Twins! I guess the ultrasound must have missed the baby hiding behind the other one. It rare but it happens. Congratulations Mommy, Daddy, you are going to having another baby. Get ready to push, Akshara." The doctor announced.
Abhimanyu turned to Akshara, unable to believe their luck or contain their happiness.
"Another baby!" He pondered, gleefully.
"Another baby." Akshara cried, feeling overwhelmed.
"I knew you were looking too fat to only carrying one baby." Abhimanyu pointed out.
"Shut up, Abhi." Akshara scolded, glaring at him and slapping him playfully as he rested his head against hers, making him laugh.
"2 babies huh? Guess you could call my swimmers, Super swimmers." He chuckled pridefully.
Just then another contract hit Akshara. "You bastard! I am in pain and you are out here boasting about your super swimmers?" Akshara growled, her mood gradually shifting.
Abhimanyu stopped boasting and went closer to Akshara, holding her hand. "Push, baby."
"I. Am. Not. Your. Baby!" She yelled, as she pushed just as another baby's wail was heard. Akshara fell back against the bed, body limp from all the hard work just as Abhimanyu pulled his hand away, withering in silent pain. Which he knew was nothing compared to the pain Akshara had just handled like a lioness.
"For a petite woman, you have the strength of a bear." Abhimanyu pointed out, making Akshara smile.
"Thank you. I know you said it because of how hard I squeezed your hand but I'll take it as a compliment." She smiled drowsily, coming down from her adrenaline rush of having to push out two babies.
"That's like my girl." Abhimanyu smiled, kissing her on the forehead.
"Congratulations Mommy, Daddy, it's a baby girl." The doctor announced as she called Abhimanyu over to cut their daughter's umbilical cord.
Daughter. He was a baby girl. His two girls. And a son. Abhimanyu felt like he was going to faint. 2 kids!
For the first time Abhimanyu held his daughter in his arms, he felt a strange feeling clog up his chest, making him choke. He was a father.
Abhimanyu carried the babies to Akshara. Akshara held the baby boy against her chest just like Abhimanyu held the baby girl against his. The symbol of their love. Their little mini-me's who would have the best of both their parents.
"She has your eyes." Abhimanyu pointed out, looking down at his daughter in awe.
"He has your nose." Akshara replied, her eyes darting between their two little munchkins.
"He has your lips." Abhimanyu smiled.
"She has your smile." Akshara kissed their daughter's feet.
"She is not allowed to leave the house till she is 30." Abhimanyu growled, feeling over protective over his daughter making Akshara roll her eyes.
"He will be a heart breaker."
"But too bad he will only be a one woman man." Abhimanyu retorted making Akshara smile.
"I can't wait Taco to meet them." Akshara sighed.
"Tomorrow. Dad, Taco and Richa can't wait to welcome you and the babies home." Abhimanyu informed her.
They had shifted to a house with a backyard garden and pool 2 years ago as Taco had began growing. Abhimanyu and Akshara had decided it was best for their family to grow in a place where Thor kids and Taco had space to play and run around.
So Abhimanyu had decided to say goodbye to his bachelor pad turned first home with the love of his life to say hello to new beginnings.
They had even renewed their vows in a private ceremony in Greece on the first wedding anniversary of their court marriage. It had been a spur of the moment decision. It had been, small, private affair near the Mediterranean Sea.
And life...life had been good to them.
"What about the names?" Akshara asked Abhimanyu.
"Ayaan." Abhimanyu offered. "Like we decided."
"And Anaira?" Akshara added, pitching in the wildcard name they had planned on using for their daughter. And now they were going to be able to use both.
"Ayaan and Anaira." Abhimanyu confirmed. "Perfect."
"Just like them." She replied, brushing her lips against Abhimanyu's for a kiss.
"Just like you." He wrapped his arm around Akshara and sat down on the side of her bed, holding his little world of happiness in his arms. His babies, his wife, the woman he loved and their little puppy waiting for them at home.
"Just like us." Akshara corrected.
"Just like us." He reaffirmed.
And that is how, Abhimanyu and Akshara's little family was completed. With the arrival of their babies to complete the already wacky and crazy family they had.
