(Timeskip - 6 months into the future)
The tragic death of Kim Cheol had affected many.
School violence died down since the disappearance of the top dogs, Jungwon, Taehyun and Yunjin occurred.
This gave the girls time to focus on their music, and they became world famous.
Ever since Hong Eunchae found out about Cheol's death, she tries to keep her mind off of it by often listening and being supportive of NewJeans' music, and focusing on school and studying, as it reminded her of her memories with Cheol and Changho.
Y/n became a 24/7 bodyguard for NewJeans, taking after Cheol's job, and broke up with Minji on mutual terms. The fans often catch Y/n in the backgrounds of NewJeans YouTube videos and Phoning lives flirting with the members.
Kang Haerin took it the worst. She still sometimes has chain-thoughts about Cheol and cries herself to sleep. She carries the stuffed frog around dorms with her, or keeps it in her backpack for when she doesn't feel comfortable. Over time, she grew more quiet and talked to the other members less and less, having an observant cat-like personality.
Kim Chaewon transferred to Eunchae's school and often hangs out with her, they get along really well.
Bangchan now seeks a professional wrestling career.

Y/n's POV
I watch from backstage as the girls finish up their OMG performance.

So I can't sleep at night ♪
They wave as the fans go mad.
I finish my coffee and throw the cup away, preparing to get the girls through the airport past all the flashing cameras and loud fans.
The girls come running in, cheering to themselves.
"Hey, Y/n!" Danielle said happily.
"You were all great out there," I said.
"We've got a Phoning Live to host later on tonight, and one more show tomorrow, and then we can have a break!" Minji said, as we cheered.
At the airport, we were swarmed by media, as per usual.
I made sure they kept their distance, until something unusual happened.
A random guy rushed through the crowd, charging at Haerin with a weapon.
I heard her let out a little squeal before I grabbed him by the shirt and pushed him away, as the other bodyguards pin him down.
Later, during the phoning live, the girls were eating food while speaking to the fans.

"Y/n-ah, come eat!" Dani yelled over to me.
I sat down in between Dani and Haerin, and grabbed a bowl of noodles and started eating.
I was eating too fast and started choking, and Haerin turned to me and started patting me on the back.
"Don't eat so fast," She said.

Danielle then grabbed a tissue and started wiping my mouth with it.

"Guys! Eunchae is watching! Hi Eunchae!!" Hyein said.
I quickly finished up my noodles and returned to the dorms.
Dani, Haerin and I shared a dorm whereas Minji, Hanni, and Hyein shared the other.
I noticed a piece of paper on Haerin's bed.
Out of curiousity, I opened the paper.
In red writing:
"DO NOT PERFORM AT YOUR SHOW TOMORROW, STAY WHERE YOU FOUND THIS PAPER AND WARN THE OTHER MEMBERS."
I thought it was probably the girls playing pranks on each other, so I just left it where I found it.
Soon after, I heard the girls end the live and come toward the rooms.
"Aaaaaaahhh, I am so ready to go to bed!" Danielle said.
I figured I should get ready for bed too.
Before we were about to shut the lights off, Haerin saw the paper on her bed and read it.
A confused look took over her face and she left to hand it to Minji.
I shut the lights off and we all got into bed.
I was getting comfortable when I felt someone shuffle into my bed.
It was Haerin. I figured she just couldn't see in the dark.
"Haerin, you're in the wrong bed," I whispered.
"No, this is the correct bed." She said.
I didn't want to question her so I just let her sleep in my bed.
"What do you guys wanna do when we get our break?" Dani whispered to us.
"I have no idea, maybe go to fun places? Like amusement parks," I whispered back.
"Ooh! How about we go to a different country?" Danielle quietly suggested. "Performances and everything is too exhausting, when we get a break, it's going to be great!"
"Wait.. why's Haerin's bed empty? Where'd she go?" Dani whispered.
I felt a tug at my shirt, I guess it was a signal not to say anything.
The next morning, everyone was getting ready to go to the next show when I remembered that paper.
"Probably just a silly little joke," I reassured myself.
During the performance, I watched in admiration as they performed. I couldn't help but stare at Haerin the whole time for some reason.

My ears started ringing like crazy.
The crowd erupted into screams of terror as the music stopped.
I rushed out from the curtains to see that an explosion had gone off.
NewJeans had a fair share of haters, but I never expected this.
Each member was frozen in spot, so I dragged them all backstage to hide while I went back out.
"WHAT THE FUCK JUST HAPPENED???" Hanni shouted among all the noise.
"STAY HERE!!! I'M GOING TO FIND OUT!!" I yelled.
I opened the curtains and caught a glimpse of a bunch of other bodyguards dead on the floor and bullets came flying in my direction.
"OKAY!! NOPE! OUT WE GO!! THIS WAY!!" I shouted, as they followed.
We got into the car and drove off back to the dorm building.
"HOLY SHITT!!!!" Hanni screamed.
We entered the dorm building and tried to calm ourselves down.
"OKAY, okay, let's all calm down." I said.
I looked at each member, and they were shaking and trembling uncontrollably.
"That note.." Haerin mumbled. "That note.."
"Wait, yeah, the note!!" Minji said. "Which one of you wrote that note?"
Nobody answered.
"It wasn't any of us!" Hyein said.
"So you're saying that there's an anonymous guardian angel here?" Minji said.
I suddenly got a call from the manager.
"Yeoboseyo?"
"Are any of the members hurt?" He asked.
"No, they're all fine," I said.
"Good, from now on make sure you do not leave them no matter what."
"Sir, whats going on?" I asked.
"I believe the girls are being targeted by an unknown organisation." He said.
"Okay, will do, sir. Bye."
Just then we heard a knock on the front door.
"Who's that?" Danielle asked.
"We don't know, but everyone go into Haerin's room. Now." I said.
They all went and peeked out the door crack.
I looked through the peephole and saw a human, dressed in a mask and hood.
I think he saw me look through the peephole and broke the door down.
The girls screamed before shutting the door.
The masked person tried to shoot me, but I remembered my training and knocked the gun out of his hand.
He then pulled out a small knife, and tried to stab me, but I blocked and hit him across the face, followed by a left to the torso and a kick to his knee.
He kneels down, but springs back up, pressing the knife against my throat.
I shove him away, and he tries slashing at me but I dodge his slashes and disarm him.
I thought that would be the last of his weapons, but he reaches into his pocket and pulls out 2 pens.
He jabs me in the elbows, numbing my arms.
"WHO ARE YOU!?" I shouted.
He quickly kicked me down, and went over to Haerin's room.
I heard screams as I tried shaking sense back into my arms.
"COME ON!!" I screamed.
I got up, and sprinted over to the room.
All the girls were unharmed, except one.
Hyein was missing.
"THEY TOOK HYEIN!" Dani screamed. "HE LEFT THROUGH THAT WINDOW."
I sprint over to the window, and I see an unconscious Hyein being dragged into a car as it sped off.
"LET'S CHASE THEM!" Hanni yelled.
"No, we must stay put, let police handle it!" I said.
"BUT-"
"Not now!" I yelled.
