Y/n's POV
After cuddling all last night with Danielle, I decided to wake her up for school.
"Good morning," I said.
"Good morning!" She said back, stretching and getting up.
We held hands on our way to school, and when we met up with the rest of the group, I noticed Haerin stopped looking upset when we did that.
Instead, she looked happy and excited for the day this time.
When I got to class, I hugged Dani like normal before going to my seat.
I saw the new kid sitting at his desk, drifting off in thoughts.
I thought I should thank him for yesterday.
"Thank you for helping me and my friends yesterday," I said as I bowed.
And to my surprise, he stood up and bowed back..
I sat down in my seat and wondered what that was about.
My thoughts were interrupted when Haerin suddenly got out of her seat and shyly gave the new kid a snack.
He cautiously accepted it and Haerin excitedly ran back to her seat with a big smile on her face.
Danielle looked back at me and we shared a look that said "There's definetly something going on."
I was about to ask the new kid if he liked Haerin but when I turned around he was already asleep.
Time went by fast and lunchtime was here.
I saw down next to Dani and we saw Haerin more eager than before, but also nervous.
She kept playing with her hands and shaking her leg.
"Something wrong Haerin?" Hyein asked.
"N-nope!" She said.
That's when the new kid came to sit at our table in front of Haerin, and she got even more nervous.
The whole group looked at each other as we all came to the realisation of what was going on.
We all chose to stay quiet for now as the new kid ate his food in silence and Haerin kept staring at him.
Haerin's POV
I couldn't stop myself from constantly looking at the new student when he was right in front of me.
I felt so warm and comfy when I looked at him.
He must've seen me looking at him when he looked up and our eyes met.
My heart started fluttering and I froze as he looked back down.
"So! New kid!" Hanni said, breaking the awkwardness. "Can you tell us your name?"
"Kim Cheol." He responded after a moment, not even looking up.
"How come you chose to help us?" Minji asked.
He didn't say anything and shot Y/n a quick look.
"How come you transferred to this school?" Danielle added.
I saw on Cheol's face that he didn't like that question.
"Guys give him some space!" I said. "Let's all just eat and be friends!"
"Says the one constantly staring at him," Hyein said.
I nudged her under the table and reached into my bag to grab my lunch.
I started fumbling around my bag but I couldn't find my lunch and I realised I forgot it at home.
"Haerin? Why aren't you eating?" Danielle said.
"I-I forgot my lunch at home," I said, sulking.
Suddenly, Cheol slid his lunchbox over.
"You can have the rest of that," He said, handing me his chopsticks.
"Oooouuu," Everyone on the table quietly but collectively teased.
"Cheol, how old are you?" Y/n asked.
"Thirteen, 14 in 9 days," he answered.
Everyone turned to look at one another and at me.
"How come you're in our class instead of Hyein's?" Minji said.
"No idea. Probably because they think I'll attack people in Hyein's year and not people older than me." He said.
"What got you expelled?" Danielle asked.
"Violence," he said.
We were about to dig in deeper when the bell rang.
"Back to classes!" The loudspeaker announced.
Hyein's POV
Seeing Haerin and Cheol interact like that made me kind of jealous.
But I decided to think nothing of it and let them be.
I separated from the others to get to my class and sat down.
Classes would always go normally for me, no one would really bother me.
Until now.
An older girl and her group of friends came in with a donation box and started taking money from people.
When they got to me, I told them I don't bring money to school, she clearly had bad intentions.
"What are you talking about? Of course you carry money!" She said. "Come on, we haven't got all day."
"I told you I'm not giving you any mone-" before I could finish, one of the girls slapped me.
"Do you know who Hansol-nim is? Do you know who her parents are?!" Another girl said.
"No, and I don't care!" I answered.
"That's it, come to the back of the school with us," they said as they started pulling me.
"What do you think you're doing? Get off me!" I said, struggling.
They managed to drag me to the incineration plant, where there was no one around.
"You think you have authority?" The leader said, kicking me down. "Teach her a lesson. And aim for her face, it pisses me off."
"You won't get away with-" were my last words before they started beating me into submission.
I was hopeless. No one was coming to save me.
Y/n's POV
I was just happy the bullies were gone.
I turned to look at Cheol and found that he wasn't sleeping, only staring out the window.
"What's so interesting it interferes with your slumber?" I joked, getting up to look out the window.
I saw Hyein getting beaten up by a group of girls.
"Guys!" I yelled. "We have to go help her!"
They rushed over and took a quick glance out the window before we ran out to help her.
When we got there, Minji was pissed.
"HEY! WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?" She shouted.
There were about 10 of them and 5 of us.
"Great," the leader said. "Squash them all,"
They all rushed towards us and I managed to stop one of them.
I checked to see how the others were doing, and it wasn't great.
Haerin was already on the floor but Hanni and Minji seemed to be having no problems.
I went to help Dani get them off of Haerin.
We were able to fend all of them off and went to help Hyein, but we were stopped.
The leader swung at Minji, and Minji collapsed.
The leader seemed to know what she was doing.
She fought the rest of us off like we were nothing.
When she got to me, I was able to hold up for a second but got beaten.
Her friends were starting to recover and get up.
"Get Y/n," the leader ordered. "They're a feisty one."
They were about to make sure I never walked again, when Cheol appeared out of no where.
"Who are you?" The leader said. "Doesn't matter, you'll die anyways,"
Cheol ran through them with no difficulty.
"What the.." the leader said.
"Last warning," Cheol said to her coldly.
"Be careful Cheol!" Hanni warned
She charged at Cheol, she was quick but Cheol was faster and punched her in the throat, ending it in an instant.
Cheol came to help me up and we helped the rest of the girls up.
He bowed to me for some reason and left.
"Do they know me?" I thought. "I have to find out."
We went to help Hyein. Her face was all bruised and bleeding.
"Hyein! Can you hear us?" Dani said.
"She needs to get to a hospital," Minji said.
