“You serious Lissa?” Quise asked her as he stopped hugging her. She shook her head yes. He sighed and smiled.
“Imma be a daddy. ”
“I was thinking of abort-” Melissa started to say.
“No!” Quise snapped around and yelled at the top of his lungs. He always wanted to have kids of his own and give them the world unlike his parents. He just wished it was with someone he could love.
Quise cared Melissa. Everyday, he got closer and closer to her. He started to feel like she completed him. But he also remembered all the things she had done. She deceived her best friend and slept with Athens's boyfriend which meant Melissa cheat on him. And he also knew his first intention with her wasn't to fall in love, it was to get back at Athena.
“So you want this baby?” Melissa asked him seriously. He snapped back to reality. He nodded his head which meant yes. She smiled. “I always dreamed of having a family with you.”
Quise have her a kiss on her cheek and then her stomach. “Hey. I'm your daddy.” he chuckled as he talked to her stomach.
“Lame ass.” Melissa rolled her eyes and laughed. Quise kissed her again.
“I'm bout to go and tell a couple of my boys, I'll be right back.” Quise told her. It was the first time since Athena and him broke up that he felt back to him old self. He dialed up Sean's number. “Man guess what?”
“Nigga why yo ass so happy?” Sean laughed. “ But forreal what's up?”
“My girl pregnant.” he said in excitement. Sean sighed and stopped talking for a second. “Where you go?”
“I was just thinking bout it. Ain't you still on that stuff?”
Yes, Quise was still using cocaine. He loved the way it made him feel. It was his getaway from the real world. But he realized that he didn't want his children growing up with a crackhead for a father. “I'm done man. I ain't gone use it no more.”
“You know it's easier just to say you done right?”
“Man I'm seriously done. No more.” Usually Quise would've got upset that someone doubted him, but he knew Sean was only trying to help.
“Just know I'm here for you man. I know how hard that stuff is to get off of and I don't want you to end up like my-”
“Stop with the emotional shit.” Quise laughed. “But what's going on with you and that girl? What's her name 'Tootsie roll'?”
“Yo ass so lame man. Candy. And I'm thinking bout getting with her. We been talking everyday since.”
“I know I told you that you shouldn't get with nobody but I was sick. ” Quise laughed. “I say go for her. ”
“Thanks for the advice man. ” Sean looked at his phone and saw Candy was calling him. “Aye man imma call you back. ”
“Coo'.” Quise said. The phone hung up.

[The next day..]
“You gone do it today? ” Marcus asked Sean in shock. They walked to the school.
“Yeah. I'm ready. I gotta get her before somebody else do.” Sean told him.
“What if she already with somebody? ”
“She not. And if she was he be dead by tonight. ” he joked.
“What made you want to do it today? ” Marcus asked him. Just the night before Sean was going to stay single and fuck around but now he's ready for a whole girlfriend.
“Some enlightenment.”
“From who?” Marcus asked him.
“Quise. ” Sean told him.
Marcus bubbled over with anger. He couldn't stand the thought of Quise. He just wouldn't accept that Athena has a new boyfriend and that she's happy. Plus Quise was always trying to fight him. “Fuck you was talking to him for?”
“Nigga what? Am I wit' you or something? Nah but just because you got something with him don't mean I do too. You know I'm friends with everybody. ” Sean told him.
Marcus sighed. Everything that he was saying was true. Sean was friendly to everyone and never got into it with anyone. Even though Sean was a bigger hoe than him, no one hated him. “Well just know I'm yo wingman on that but what else he say?”
“His girl pregnant.”he confessed. By now they were sitting on a bench outside.
Marcus' eyes bulged out of his head. “Who his girl?”
“Melissa. They been together for a couple weeks now.”
“Damn.. Thena gone be mad.”he said. Marcus didn't know what else to say about the subject so he changed it. He still was worried about getting shot again so he asked Sean to look into it. “You get any info bout the shooter? ”
Sean shook his head no. He had been asking a few of his boys on streets and they knew nothing about it. “Nah but I know somebody who got a lot of people working for him. ”
“Who Mark? ”
“Yeah. How you know him? ” Sean asked in shock.
“Man everybody know Mark!” he laughed, “You wanna go meet him right now?”
Sean looked at the school building. He had two test today and he didn't want to take them at all. “Yeah I'm cool with that.”
They walked back to Marcus' Benz. They got inside and started driving towards Mark's house. It was 30 minutes away and Sean fell asleep on the way.
Marcus shook him awake. “Let's go nigga.” Sean got up and walked to the front door with him. They knocked and Mark came to the door. “Sup Mark. ”
Mark shook his hand and looked at Sean. “Wassup Marcus. Yo daddy still owe me some money. ” he laughed.
“I'll just sign a check.” he chuckled.
“Nah I like my money in cash and upfront. Just tell him I want my money. Don't want nothing to happen to you.”
Marcus laughed. He thought Mark was just playing with him, but he was so serious. There was no telling what Mark would do for his money. Sean felt that but kept quiet.
They walked to the couch and sat down. Mark picked up his blunt from the table and started smoking. “So what bring y'all here?”
“So um.. a couple weeks ago me and my girl was out on a date, and then it was a drive by. I was just wondering if you know anything bout it. ” Marcus told him.
“Dang I used to love going on dates as a teenager. Now all I do is just mess around. ” Mark laughed.
Sean and Marcus looked at each other. “Can you just answer the question? ”
“Dang why y'all teenagers so impatient! I would of got my ass beat back in my day.”
Sean stood up.“I'm bout to go to the bathroom. ”
“Okay. It's the third door on the left.” Sean walked away. Mark and Marcus sat staring at each other. Marcus was getting angrier and angrier by this man by the second. He knew he knew something because he kept dodging his questions.
“Can you just answer my question! ” Marcus yelled.
Mark's mood changed. His warm smile turned serious and cold. “Now listen here little nigga. I'll kill yo ass myself if you ever talk to me like that again. I ain't telling yo ass shit till I get my money from yo daddy.”
Marcus groaned and stood up. “Fuck you.” he mumbled. He walked out the door and back to his car. He texted Sean that he was leaving and soon Sean came outside.
I'm almost at 4k on Sexual Choices! Can't believe it. When I say you guys inspire me, I truly mean that. You guys make me want to spend hours racking my brain about what to do next.
