Darren POV:
Thought wanting a desire to even allow a sound out, the only sound that came out of my mouth was hoarse panting. With so much tension and excitement, running through my body, all I could do allow my mind to collapse. My legs slightly trembled, before falling onto the ground.
Shoto: MY LIEGE!
Kirito: Are you alright? My liege?
Subsequently, the shadows soldiers that surrounded me could only issue out voices of anxious concern and questions.
Yuji: When will mistress be coming back home?
Kirito: Call Yuko and Lucas first. They can help the most!
I gave out a few coughs which covered my hand with blood before I stood up.
Darren: I'm fine. No need to worry,
I stood inside my house while the girls and my friends were all outside except Mukuro and Kurumi who was sleeping inside their respective rooms. I looked down on my murky shadow, while stepping down on the shadow, I didn't mean to attack, or summon my undead soldiers. Heck, I didn't even mean to wake the others up. This was merely just a safeguard against the spirit I caught a while ago. With the codename <Phantom>, or to even call the Spirit Queen was more accurate. I kept it a secret from everyone that I had caught Mio Takamiya, who was Phantom. From everyone except Yuko, Lucas and my girlfriends.
Kurumi: I heard stomping what happened?
I was currently holding down my head while even though I couldn't tell. My face was probably pale and my hands were also pale.
Darren: I'll be fine.
Suddenly, my shadow and my shadow soldiers was swallowed up by my shadow, Kurumi and Mukuro just had their eyes wide open in shock as I fell into this endless void.
Darren: Mio Takamiya, why did you summon me here?
Mio: I love seeing that distorted face of yours. Keep making that face.
Darren: WHY DID YOU TURN KURUMI INTO A SPIRIT?!
Mio: I wanted to make a world full of Spirit and where I can live with my darling, Shinji Takamiya for eternity!
Her face now represented that of a crazy woman, who would do anything for someone she loves.
Darren: Then, why are you here? Captured by me?
Mio: The you back then and the you now, is significantly different. I was of course, captured with my guard down. But, my clone would find you.
Darren: You mean Reine Murasame right?
Her expressions suddenly turned into one of shock.
Mio: How do you...
Darren: Manipulation, deception, anticipation. Those are all part of the human tactics, of course. I never thought that it would work this well. I used deception and manipulation pretty well didn't I?
Mio: How?
Her face suddenly turned into one of fear again.
Darren: Didn't I say. Anticipation? You never thought that I would use it so well didn't I? I noticed that Reine was one of your clones from the start so I cloned her, not actually clone her. I fused her essence, or your essence I should say into my shadow soldier. Wasn't my acting well?
Mio: Your acting sure is well, if I didn't notice it in the first place.
Darren: What?
Mio: Of course I knew, why did you think I allowed you to capture me? Why would I allow my own powers to weaken to increase the number of spirits in this world? Why did I think i allowed you to capture me?
Darren: ...
Mio: SEE?! YOU ARE NOTHING BUT A FOOL!
I remained silent while Mio Takamiya just silently laughed at me.
Mio: No wonder why you were a big fool.
I was suddenly sent out of my shadows while Mio still stayed there while being chained up by the shadow chains.
Darren: I was defeated...
Kurumi: Darren-chan! What happened?!
Mukuro: MISTER!
Darren: I was defeated in a battle of mind by Mio Takamiya...
Their eyes widened as I teleported somewhere else.
-In the fraxinus-
Darren POV:
I was teleported inside of the commander room with Lucas and Yuko while someone was yelling their lungs out.
???: COMMANDER! SHIDO'S RESPONSE HAS BEEN CAUGHT! ALONG WITH THE SPIRIT WAVES OF KURUMI TOKISAKI AND MUKURO-
Darren: No need to yell. I know.
Kotori: Darren...
Darren: Kotori... I know that you want to hunt down as many spirits as possible for the succession, but are you really sure that would be the best choice?
Kotori: I didn't expect you to visit us, Darren. But let me just say this, no matter what happened with Shido. I will not allow you to interfere with our mission. You understand?
Darren: I never expected to interfere. I just thought that our opponent is Issac, I would lend a helping hand.
Yuko: Are you sure?
Lucas: You sure we can trust them?
Darren: Not sure, but what can we do except trust them?
Darren: Now then, commander Itsuka... I hope that we work well together!
Everyone in the Fraxinus expressed a feeling of horror when I showed my true personality towards them.
Yuko: Darren, calm.
I returned back to my usual face as the ship started flying towards Shido.
Kotori: Darren, what happened?
Darren: You can find out when you ask Shido, and what i have endured for so long.
Lucas: Darren, you are losing it. Come on, you should get home.
Darren: No.
Lucas: I'll call Kurumi and Mukuro here then.
Before I could even mutter a no, Kurumi and Mukuro suddenly appeared in front of me while crying and hugging me.
Kurumi: What happened to you?
Mukuro: Mister, why did you suddenly run away? I thought that you hated Mukuro for a second.
Darren: Hate you? Mukuro. I would nev-
I choked on my words as I coughed out blood once more.
Darren: (What?)
Mio: (See, I have control over this dimension. You, a monarch's vessel. Borrowing the power of a spirit, isn't that ironic?)
Darren: (Just shut up...)
She giggled before I was caught by Kurumi and Mukuro.
Kotori: Retrieve Shido as soon as possible! NOW!
Darren: (It's weird how no generals attacked us, when they knew a commander was defeated.)
Lucas: DARREN! WE HAVE TO GO! NOW!
Darren: Why?
Lucas: Teleport us to Shido. Yuko, allow him to borrow your mana!
yuko: why?
Lucas: WE DON'T HAVE TIME! HURRY!
Yuko: Alright.
The three of us instant teleported towards Shido, who was sitting on a bench, it seemed like he never left for home. And was sitting there for quite some time, as well as my spirit powers working on him.
Kotori: SHIDO!
Shido: Kotori...
The five of us was suddenly transported towards the Fraxinus where I just laid on the ground with Kurumi and Mukuro supporting me.
Kotori: What happened? What exactly...
Shido: Darren... Thank you...
Kotori: WHY ARE YOU THANKING HIM?!
Shido: He saved me more times than I can count...
Kotori: What-
Shido: Just gather everyone right now. I have to tell everyone, everything. Right now, no- what has happened to me until now. What Darren did in order to save me as well as what he did for me.
I could tell that there was a mountain of questions that she wanted to ask both Shido and I. Moreover, since my condition wasn't in the best state, that was another piece of information that they need to know about. One of the best fighters that they have, was in this situation. If it was the usual Kotori, she wouldn't have stopped asking him questions and forced him to keep on talking. However, she decided not to press the matter. One can suspect it is because of the momentum of the conversation, but right now the current Shido looked so fill with misery that he would break down into tiny fragments if agitated further.
Kotori: I- I understand.
Mukuro: What exactly did you tell Shido?
Darren: Just the reason why I saved him.
Kotori: Reine contact Ma-
My eyes widened in fear as I knew that Reine was the clone of Mio Takamiya, I attempted to say something but I just puked out blood.
Lucas: DARREN!
Yuko: Get him to the Ratatoskr medic right now.
Kotori: It is currently being occupied by Shido.
Kurumi: Is there no other way to heal him?
Kotori: None...
Darren: Zaphkiel. Dalletto.
I shot myself with the fourth bullet and I was rewinded back 10 minutes ago. I almost collapsed, but at least I can say something without coughing out blood now.
Darren: Lucas, Yuko. I need to speak to you.
Lucas: Right.
Yuko: Ok.
We headed to another room where I almost coughed out blood had Yuko and Lucas not caught me.
Darren: What I am about to tell you two now. Should not be told to anyone, not even people that you can trust the most.
Lucas: Spill.
Yuko: Now.
Darren: There's a traitor who's been working with Mio Takamiya and the Light Monarch.
Lucas: Impossible.
Yuko: Who is the traitor?
Darren: I cannot tell, but right now. This traitor has been leaking information about our new upgrades to them. Such as my forms evolving into Duos Angels, your ice armour and Yuko's new servants as well as Saber Alter.
Yuko: This traitor, is extremely smart and manipulative. To be able to even deceive you without a second thought.
Darren: Deception, Manipulation and Anticipation. Those three are all it takes to read the human hearts. Who do you think has the capability to do all three? No, not more like deceive me more like he/she deceived someone close to me.
Yuko: Kurumi.
Lucas: Kurumi. Her ability to play and seduce human emotions are inexcusable to being a traitor with Mio Takamiya.
Darren: Exactly.
Lucas: Normally I thought you would be protecting her.
Darren: I would, but her ability to do all three tactics are inexcusable, shall I remind you that there's a chance to have more than one traitors in this war?
Mio: (Smart. Really smart, I hope you can find out who the traitor is, before all goes to waste you know.)
Lucas: (Mio Takamiya)
Ciel :(Master, you need to release her from your shadows before everything goes wrong.)
Darren: (How long can I hold her for?)
Ciel: (unknown)
Yuko: (I'll give you my mana. Hold on)
Yuko placed his hand on my chest and started transferring mana to me which in creased the capability of my angels. Chaining down Mio Takamiya even further.
Yuko: Right now, the possibility of a traitor is Kurumi Tokisaki. Who else?
Darren: Three options for the traitors.
Lucas: I'm listening.
Darren: Kurumi Tokisaki, Shido Itsuka and... Artoria (Saber).
Yuko: Shido cannot possibly be the traitor, he hasn't seen anything besides Lucas' armour and Saber alter. He wasn't at the ice castle fight.
Darren: But the chances of him not leaving for his house and was instead at a random bench, seemed really suspicious to me.
Lucas: Why do you think that Saber is the traitor?
Darren: 1. Her ability to think as a king.
Yuko: Gilgamesh said that she is a naive king, so we can eliminate that thought.
Darren: 2. What happened to her after the betrayal.
Darren: 3. Jean's words of there being a possible woman that would've been saved by the Undead Monarch had he not died to the light Monarch.
Yuko: Those are all possibilities that Artoria could be the traitor. But-
Darren: Shut up.
I started to have sweat beads down my face as Yuko and Lucas looked worried and carried me out of the room. Towards the meeting room.
In addition to Shidou Lucas, Yuko and I, there were 17 people in this room. Tohka, Origami, Kotori, Yoshino, Kaguya, Yuzuru, Miku, Natsumi, Nia, Kurumi, Mukuro, and Reine and Mana alongside these Spirits. In addition, Maria, the management AI of <Fraxinus>, should have been watching this situation through the monitor screen. No one could believe at how, I, the person who hated Shido the most. Would go out of my way to save him even though he could be dead.
Darren: (So they haven't even noticed a traitor within us.)
I passed out in the midst of the meeting.
