Before we start off, a few words from your author. First of all, I want to thank you for your patience. It has taken way to long to create this chapter and I'm most grateful for everyone who still reads this book, who keeps voting and most of all commenting. Reading all those positive comments makes my day more than any of you could ever know and fills me with happiness.

And for the second note. For now, I'm changing up to 1 upload a week to get back into the rhythm of things. I know, this isn't what you'd like to hear but I feel it is necessary. This means that Friday will be the upload day for new chapters. Now, without further a do, I present you chapter 100, enjoy!
_______________________________________

Voice of an elderly woman: Long, long ago when life on earth was simple. Farmers worked together with species they called Beasts, tilling the lands. Fishermen fishing in the seas and rivers with the help of their water type beasts. Explores who explored the many lands the world had to offer, along the help of beasts which made them to trek greater distances. These species coexisted along the many people who lived on the land, villages and others who roamed the forest, mountains or seas. Some called them friends, others called them their proporties and then there were the ones who hunted them.

One day, a group of explorers encountered a large cave. The cave was known as the cave of Origin. The explorers entered the cave along with a large fire type beast which provided them light in the darkness.

It wasn't long as the group explorers reached the deepest part of the cave where they stumbled on an overwhelming sight. A large lake was infront of them, filled with beasts they had never seen before. The walls of this part of the cave were muddy but it still stood strong. The roof of the cave was covered in a glowing substance which provided the light inside the cave.

As one of the explorers made his way closer to the lake, something caught his eye. In the middle of the lake was a large altar like structure, holding a blue coloured ball in the middle of it.

"What's that?" One of the explorers commented.

"I don't know but it surely looks valuable. This is an amazing discovery!" The other spoke.

The group of explorers were thrilled with their finds. However, what they found was no ordinary thing. The thing they found was way more dangerous they expected.

Then, one of the explorers made its way over to the small piece of land the altar was on. His eyes sparkled as his eyes locked with the blue crystal like ball. He reached out to the ball and touched it. But then... greed overtook his mind. The explorer became possessed by the ball and markings covered his body, markings that represented something ancient.

Then, on an island, miles, miles away, a group of hunters hunted for beasts near the base of a vulcano. They climbed the vulcano and soon reached its peak. As they reached the peak, a large altar came into view. The group of hunters closed in on it and gasped on what they saw. A crystal like, round object was sitting in the middle. It was red by colour and shined brightly. One of the hunters reached out for it. They thought that they found something valuable but soon, everything changed for the worst. Once the hunter touched it, his fate was the same as the explorer who touched the blue object. He became obsessed with greed and he became covered in markings, but different markings compared to the explorer.

Both groups of explorers and hunters became engulfed in fear as their comrade was chanting something in a demonic voice. But then, when everything seemed to be as bad as it could, two gigantic beasts emerged from the water and magma.

These beasts were called the beast of the sea and the beast of the land. They were arch enemies and whenever one of them appeared, the other would too, resulting into the clash of legends.

This time however, the stones that were found by the explorer and the hunter merged with their respective beast, changing them into completely different forms. As the change finished, they looked more powerful, powerful enough to destroy everything on their path. Both faced the the ones with a look of hatred. Some tried to escape but it was to no avail as the two beasts erased them from existence.

The beast of the sea roared loudly, summoning large, dark grey thunder clouds. From those clouds, rain started to poor down and the beast of the sea started its trek. Its trek to face his enemy once and for all.

At the vulcano, the beast of the land also roared loudly, causing the sun to burn hotter and hotter. Then, it also left its home with one thing in mind. To finish it's enemy.

The beast of the land and the beast of the sea clashed. The beast of the sea tried to make the sea bigger while the beast of the land created more land. The clash was powerful, something anyone didn't witness ever before.

Close to the clash between the two giants, there was a small island. An island which had one large tower on it. The tower reached into the clouds. It was so high, no flying type pokemon was able to get to the top as the air current would push them back down again.

On the top of the tower was a man standing, overlooking the battle with a serious expression. He was believed to be the first of the Draconid people. Then, the man held up his hand, holding a large Meteorite like stone with a strange symbol on it.

Then, golden rays of light shined through the clouds, stopping the rain. The two ancient beasts looked up, knowing what was coming. The one thing they hated more than eachother. It was the snake of the air.

A large green snake like beast cut its way through the clouds, revealing itself.

Then, with the glowing lights of the Meteorite, it started to become engulfed in a green light and changed in form. A form strong enough to counter the special forms the other two beasts possessed. This form later became known as Mega Evolution and is known as one of the first times this phenomenon happened.

The snake of the skies defeated the giant of the land and the giant of the seas, sending them back to their homes. The red and the blue stones that offered these two giants to change in their origin forms dissapeared for good.

The snake of the sky changed back into its original form, which was for people who never witnessed Mega Evolution never thought was possible. Then, also the snake of the sky dissapeared, flying up high into the clouds.

The people wanted to thank the man who summoned the beast that saved their world but the man was never seen again. In order of their gratitude, the ancient people build a large statue of the man and the snake of the sky on top of the large tower.

Therefore, the Prophecy foretells. Whenever the beast of the land and the beast of the sea clash, the snake of the sky will be summoned and will put order to the chaos. But... Even if it fails, only the chosen one is to seek for a way to calm down the disruption.

Note* Sorry for the quality of the video. Due to some circumstances, I couldn't get it how I wanted it to be and had to use this what I found on YouTube.

Night time, 10pm, airspace of the Kalos Region.

A large flying object flew through the air, covering everything that itnflew past in it's shadows. The structure had engines that kept it flying in the four corners it contained. It had a pointed roof aswell. It was the battle pyramid.

Brandon stood on the battlefield with his Solrock, Dusknoir and Ninjask. The lights were dimmed, he stood motionless on the ground, just like his pokemon. He was deep in thought and his mind repeated the words of Champion Steven in his head over and over again.

Make sure you keep the Meteorite safe. If you need any help, don't hesitate but whatever you do, protect it no matter what.

"Protect the Meteorite from Team Rocket. No matter what." Brandon mumbled before he looked up. A small smirk crept onto his face. "I hope its worth it to go all this way for you... After all... You're the first ever person to beat me."

Ash, Pikachu, Lucario and Serena, together with their friends Gary, Shauna, Brock and Misty were walking through the streets of Vaniville Town. Today was the day of the towns festival.

"Look at the beautiful women!" Brock exclaimed with hearts in his eyes, turning his head back and forth.

Everyone sweatdropped while Misty sighed. "Shut up Brock, all of them will reject you anyway." Misty stated as she grabbed his ear and pulled him away, followed by Croagunk who's hand was covered in a purple glow.

Ash, Serena, Gary and Shauna laughed it off as they continued walking. "This is amazing! Vaniville's festivals are the best!" Serena stated smilingly. She walked next to Ash, holding his hand with their fingers intertwined. Shauna and Gary walked behind them, holding hands aswell.

Everywhere they looked were market stalls, everyone of them offering something different. There were food stalls, souvenir stalls, stalls with clothes and some with accessories such as hand bags or even bracelets and necklaces. There were even stalls that had mini games in them, such as Magikarp fishing, target shooting and many, many other games.

On the end of the street was a large open field which was filled with various theme park attractions. There were rollercoasters, slides, a large Ferris wheel and many other things.

The street was decorated with various props, giving it the right vibe for the festival while garlands were hanging from stall to stall, house to house, covering the streets.

Ash smiled at Serena. She had begged him to come with her to the festival but for Ash it wasn't hard to be convinced. He loved festivals like these but seeing the smile on his girlfriends face made him even happier.

"It sure looks loads of fun!" Ash commented, looking over at Serena. She let out a happy laugh in return, smiling brightly as she enjoyed it more than ever.

"Hey Brock! Let's do some Magikarp fishing!" Misty said, pointing over to where the stall was. The stall contained a large tube, filled to the brim with Magikarp swimming around. Behind the tube stood a salesman, yelling around the place in order to advertise his merchandise.

"Sure! What makes things better is that girl standing next to it!" Brock stated in a joyful tone. Misty sighed and turned to the others. "Let's split up and meet at the battlefield in two hours, okay?" Misty suggested.

"Sure! Sounds good to me!" Shauna agreed, taking Gary's hand and pulling him onto the direction of the ferris wheel. "I guess I'll see you guys later!" Gary tried to shout as the others sweatdropped.

Now, Misty and Brock also left for the fishing games, leaving Ash, Serena, Pikachu and Lucario alone.

Serena looked into the distance. Her eyes were fixated on the large Ferris wheel that stood off in the distance. A small blush formed on her cheeks as she stole a peek at Ash. "Ash... do you mind if we..."

*GRHRBRBGGG*

Ash's eyes widened as he immediately grabbed his stomach. "Sorry..." Ash sweatdropped in embarrassement. "What were you saying?" He asked curiously.

Serena giggled. "It doesn't matter really, I guess we'll get some food first before doing something else."

"Hehe... I guess you're right." Ash chuckled as Serena grabbed his hand and pulled him behind her to one of the nearest food stands. There, Ash ordered a hamburger while Serena ordered some fries. Together, they sat down by a set of picnic tables.

Then, Ash realised something. "Hey Serena, how about we release the rest of our pokemon aswell? That way, they can have some fun too!" Ash suggested all of a sudden.

"Oh my!! How could I forget! Come on out everyone!" Serena yelled as she threw her pokeballs up into the air. Ash followed her example as the duo released their pokemon. Within moments, Altaria, Delphox, Sylveon, Pancham, Deerling, Absol, Beldum, Squirtle, Bulbasaur and Greninja landed next to Lucario and Pikachu.

"Here." Ash said, putting a small pouch with some money inside around Pikachu's neck. "Alright, make sure you don't lose it wherever you go." Ash instructed as Pikachu nodded, listening carefully. "Now go and have fun!" Ash smiled.

Absol was a bit hesitantly which was quickly noticed by Serena. She bend down next to her and placed her hand in its head. "Come on Absol, don't you wanna have fun with them?" She asked.

Absol looked a bit back and forth between the group and Serena. It didn't know if it rather stay with Serena or play with their friends. Suddenly Beldum came up to her side and nudged it. "Bel-beldum!" Beldum encouraged Absol. Absol turned to her brother figure with a small smile before nodding to Serena, following Beldum towards the rest of the pokemon as they walked off.

"Be back at the battlefield in two hours okay guys!" Ash yelled. "Pika-pika!!" Pikachu replied with its thumbs up before turning towards Sylveon. He grabbed one of her feelers, causing both to blush slightly. But it didn't matter to them, they felt happy to spend time with one another.

"They're cute." Serena commented, watching the two.

"What do you mean?" Ash asked her, slightly confused. Serena shook her head gently. "You still have your dense moments, don't you. Anyway, I meant Pikachu and Sylveon together, aswell as Delphox and Greninja. It's obvious they like eachother but they're nervous to talk about it." Serena explained.

Ash scratched his cheek nervously. "I guess I'm still not that good at seeing love." He uttered. Serena giggled. "Don't worry Ash, it'll come in time."

"Yeah... I guess you're right." Ash smiled back. "Now let's eat our food and get back on the road! Now everyone is on their own, we can have some fun together, just me and you!" Ash grinned widely before he started to chow down on his hamburger.

Serena smiled, liking the thought. Only the two of them together and no one who would be bothering them. "I like that idea!" Serena said with much excitement.

After a few minutes, the two of them finished their food and stood up from their seats. "That tasted great!" Ash said, petting his belly in satisfaction.

"Mmhmm, it sure did! I didn't expect the people who organised the festival to bring such good food!" Serena happily agreed as she stretched her arms.

Ash stepped behind her and wrapped his arms around her stomach while leaning in for a kiss on the cheek. "You're really cute when you do that. It's becoming irresistible." Ash said, showing Serena the affection he had for her.

Serena turned around in his arms, facing him while placing her hands on his chest and cheek. "Now you know how I feel whenever I see you." Serena replied gleefully before placing her lips on his. "I love you." Serena wispered, brushing her lips against Ash's with much desired affection.

Then, Ash grabbed her hand. "Come on, let's have some fun!" He said in a cheerful tone as excitement was about to take control of him.

"I was just having fun..." Serena pouted.

"We can have some of that fun later! Now, let's go around and see whats going on!" Ash said excited, pulling her into another quick kiss.

"That's enough for now. Okay, let's have some fun!" Serena said with a big smile.

Together, they walked past several stands, where Serena checked out some clothes and handbags. Ash on the other hand was more interested in the souvenirs. As Serena was checking out some handbags, Ash stood infront of a stall next to her.

"What's this?" He mumbled, looking at a small wooden Pikachu statue.

"Ah young man!" The salesman said, gaining Ash's attention. "What you see there is my latest work! This piece of art is created from the trees that only grow in the forests in Kanto, near the town of Pallet!" He explained.

"Pallet Town?" Ash frowned. Thinking back of his hometown let memories flood through is mind as subconsciously a smile appeared on his face.

"And to make it even better, I can engrave something on it if you want!" The salesman said, causing Ash to get excited. "Really!? Alright I'll buy it!" Ash said.

"Perfect choice young man! Now what do you want to be engraved on it?" He asked. "I want this on it." Ash said, explaining the salesman what he exacly wanted on it.

Soon, Ash got a small bag with a special engraved Pikachu in it from the salesman. "There you go son!" He greeted with a smile.

"Thank you so much sir!" Ash smiled, taking the bag from the man. Serena is really gonna like this! Ash thought smilingly.

"Hey Ash! What do you have in that bag?" Serena asked, walking up from behind as she tried to steal a peek inside.

"Nothing!" Ash flinched, closing the bag and putting it on the other side of him, away from Serena.

"Okay..." Serena replied with suspicion but shrugged it off. Then Ash turned to her and noticed something new. "You've gotten a new handbag?" He asked curiously.

Immediately Serena smiled widely. "Yeah! Do you like it? I really am in love with it!" She said gleefully as she moved her body sideways in order to give Ash a better look.

The handbag was completely pink but it had a small, cute heart like button on it in order to open it.

"It's pretty and cute, just like you. It fits amazing and compliments you really well." Ash said in a soothing tone as he placed his hands on her hips.

"Aw... Thanks Ash." Serena said in the sweetest voice she could. Then, she leaned in for a passionate kiss.

After separating from the kiss, Ash and Serena continued walking past the many stalls that were located on both sides of the streets. Every now and then, they went over to a stall and looked at various things but nothing really caught their attention. Everything was peaceful and they had a blast of a time with the two of them together.

Then, all of a sudden, Serena saw the ferris wheel again. A blush crept onto her face of the thought of the two of them being together in one of the wagons. "Hey Ash?" She asked to gain his attention. "Mind if we..." She said nervously as she pointed to the ferris wheel in the distance.

"You want to have a ride in the ferris wheel? Sure, why not." Ash said, giving her a nonchalant smile.

They walked several blocks until they finally reached the ferris wheel. There were people in line, waiting for their chance to enter it but the line wasn't that long. Soon, Ash and Serena finally reached the front of the line as the man who worked there opened up the cord. Ash and Serena passed and entered one of the cabins.

As they were going up, Serena looked to the ground that was getting further and further away from them and realised something, causing her tk start shaking nervously.

"Something wrong?" Ash asked, noticing her nervous behaviour.

"I-I'm a-afraid of h-heights!" Serena shuddered.

"How come? You never seemed to have any problems when we flew on Pidgeot, Charizard or a few days ago on Dragonite." Ash asked in confusion.

"That's because I held you as tight as I could and closed my eyes until we landed." Serena tried to come up with an answer. Truth was, she never liked heights but was able to endure it as long Ash was with her.

"Hey-" Ash said, putting an arm around her shoulder and pull her closer. "Try to think of something else. Try to enjoy the view or even look at me, as long as you distract yourself from your fears. But even so, you could see it as a challenge to try to get over it." Ash said in understanding, giving her a small smile.

Serena looked at him lovingly. Then, she gave him a confident nod. "Right!"

As they went higher and higher, they reached the top where the cart stopped. Serena's eyes sparkled as she enjoyed the view. She could see all of Vaniville Town and it was more beautiful from this angle than she anticipated.

Ash smiled at her. He knew that she didn't like heights but now she seemed happy which resulted in giving him a happy feeling aswell. He still had his arm around her shoulder and pulled her slightly closer so he could rest his head on her shoulder. He smiled as he watched the view together with her.

"You know Ash... if we confessed here, it would be so romantic..." Serena said all of a sudden, smiling as she watched a flock of Fletching flying in the distance.

"Huh?" Ash said in confusion. He thought that she didn't like how things went and that she rather preferred something like this instead.

Serena turned her head to his side, seeing the confusion in his eyes. "Oh, sorry! It wasn't meant as anything bad." Serena said as she waved her hands infront of her. "Our date was more than perfect and that night was even better. It was truly a dream come true and it will remain the best day of my life." She defended herself, trying to correct her words from earlier. She turned her head back to watch through the glass of the cabin. "It's just, I once read this in a novel and it just seems so romantic." Serena said, smiling slightly.

Ash looked at her and nodded to himself. Then, he took her by surprise and grabbed both of her hands, sitting down on one knee as she gave him a shocked expression.

"Ash--- what are you doing?" Serena almost yelled as she was internally in panic. Was Ash really gonna ask her what she thought?

"Serena, ever since we met. You're special to me. At first, I couldn't really tell what it was and kinda shrugged the feeling off and tried to distract myself with training, food and battling." Serena giggled at the last part as Ash continued.

"But everything changed when you kissed me at the airport. Many new and other feelings appeared inside of me which I never felt before or knew of. That made me realise what it was. You showed that you loved me for the person I am today. Despite all your nervousness back then, you did it. Only to get a weird look from an oblivious guy. But... When I returned, I learned more. More about the concept of love. I started developing feelings for you. Feelings that you probably were walking with since the start of our journey. No, maybe even since summercamp. I needed to show you how I felt about you but I was scared."

"Scared?" Serena asked surprised.

"Yes, scared. Scared that I missed my chance and that you didn't love me anymore." Ash said with a sad smile. Then he faced her again.

"But when you asked me to go on a date, internally, I was over the moon. I spend days to prepare and make sure I was as presentable as I could. That night was the night I needed to muster up all the courage so I could finally tell you how I felt about you." Ash smiled widely.

"Now Serena, what I want to say with this is... You've made some space inside of my heart, only reserved for you. Serena... I love you. I love you more than anything in the world." Ash said as he felt like he poured his heart out.

Serena was genuinely taken aback by this. "But Ash... I know that. You know I love you too!" Serena stated but Ash wasn't taking that as if it was enough. "Serena, now it's your turn." Ash said.

"My turn?" Serena asked in confusion, raising an eyebrow.

"Yes. You said this place was so romantic and perfect for a confession. Now, it's your turn." Ash gave her a toothy grin.

Serena finally understood what he was getting at. A smile formed on her face. "Okay then, here I go!" She stated ecstatically.

"Ash Ketchum, ever since you saved me at the summercamp, I can't help to think about you all the time. You changed my life in so many ways, you can't even imagine. Only the phrase 'never give up untill its over' is something I live by. Even right now, those words give me courage, inspires me to do better and show the best side of me. Most of all, it reminds me of how important you are to me, Ash." Serena said as she continued.

"You're right, ever since I summercamp, I had a crush in you. That crush developed into something more when I saw you on the news. It made my heart race, seeing you so close by, yet so far away. And when I saw you in person, I knew that I somehow had to tell you what I felt for you. But I couldn't. Whenever we talked and I thought I build up enough courage, I would get flustered."

"It started to frustrate me, even irritate at times that I couldn't tell you what I felt for you, throughout our whole journey. But then, when I had to leave for Hoenn, I needed to do something. Something quick and smooth which would show you as clear as daylight how I felt about you. On that moment, nothing, not even Arceus himself could stop me from running up those steps and press my lips against yours. After I kissed you, I felt flustered but I was satisfied. Satisfied that you were my first kiss and that I finally was able to do what took me our whole journey to do."

"Ash, when you left for so long. I thought that I would grow over it and I was about to give up on you until I saw you on that, god blessed day. My heart stopped pounding as it shot right into my throat. It felt like Arceus gave me eternal happiness." Serena spoke truthfully as she wiped a tear from her eye.

"But, there was one moment that brought me even more happiness. The moment after the date where you had set everything up and confessed to me. Ash, what I want to say is..."

"I love you and never want to live without you."

As soon as the words left Serena's mouth, she closed her eyes and both crashed their lips into eachother, kissing eachother with passion, giving everything they felt into it.

As soon as they broke, Ash spoke up, forming a small smirk on his face. "Was that as romantic as you hoped it would be?"

Serena shook her head. "It was even better than I could've imagined." She stated. Then, she leaned back in, pressing her lips back on his as they continued kissing, before proceeding into a make out session.

When they stopped for air, the cabin was almost back at the ground. It was time for Ash and Serena to get out so other couples could get in aswell.

"I think we should head over to the battlefield now. It is almost time for the annual tournament. They say that there is a strong trainer that you can battle if you win the tournament." Serena said, looking at the information she got from the small guide book.

"Really?" Ash said as his eyes lit up in excitement. "What are we waiting for then, let's go!" He took Serena's hand and try to pull her after him but he felt resistance. He turned around with a confused look.

"There's enough time Ash. The tournament registration won't start for atleast 30 minutes. After registration is complete, they'll announce who this person is so let's take some time." Serena said as she walked over to him and hooked her arm in his.

Ash gave her a smile, knowing that she was right. "Sure. Sorry, whenever there's a battle, my excitement tends to take over my thought process." Ash apologised.

"I know Ash. We're together for months now, do you think I don't know my boyfriend?" Serena giggled with a playful smirk.

Ash chuckled at her responds. There was no way of denying it. If anyone knew him better than himself, it would be Serena.

"Now, let's go and get some ice cream first before we go to the battlefield." Serena smiled at him. "In a normal pace." She added, earning a smiling nod from Ash. He liked the idea of getting an ice cream and spending some more time with his girlfriend before the tournament started which he was really excited for.

The two walked together, past the many market stalls they walked past earlier. They quickly reached the ice cream stand and got what they wanted. Ash had a ball of Chocolate, a ball of vanilla and one of strawberry. Serena had two balls of strawberry and one of vanilla to change up the taste. She didn't really like the chocolate as it had a negative effect on her figure which she was really proud off. After getting their ice cream, both of them joined the time together, alone with not even their pokemon around. They laughed, smiled and joked around as they walked towards the battlefield where the tournament would be held.

It wasn't long until they reached the battlefield. Next to it was a small market stall with a large sign on it. "Register here!!" We're the words placed on the sign.

"I'll go and register quickly, ok?" Ash said as he gave Serena a quick kiss on the cheek took off running to the registration stand. Serena stood on the place where Ash left her, shaking her head as she giggled. "I didn't even get a chance to reply."

"Hey Serena! It's been a while, hasn't it?!"

"Huh?" Serena said, turning to the source of the voice. Her eyes widened in recognition. "Lucas!" She yelled with a wide smile as she ran over to him.
(---)

Ash just had registered for the tournament and walked away from the registration stand. As he did, he couldn't help but wonder who this trainer was that was going to be facing the winner of the tournament.

As he was lost in his thoughts, someone ran from the other side, unknowingly in Ash's direction.

"Out of the way, out of the way, out of the way!"

Ash looked up, hearing the voice only for him to realise it was too late.

*CRASH!*

Both Ash and this other person landed on their but. "Ahh... that hurt.." Ash said, rubbing his forehead.

"What's the big idea of running into me Mister? You better pay this fine for hurting me!" The person yelled, immediately standing up and aggressively pointing his finger to Ash.

"Huh?" Ash said, looking up only to see Barry standing infront of him. "Barry? What are you doing here?" Ash asked curiously.

"Huh.... Oh! Hey Ash!" Barry said as his once angry look turned into a confident smile. "For your information, I'm here to win that tournament and battle that trainer." He said in a proud manner as he puffed up his chest.

"We'll see Barry." Ash said, standing up and dusting off his clothes. "Anyways, I'm going back in search for Serena. See you during the tournament okay?" Ash said as he waved at him with a smile.

"Yeah! But this time, I'm gonna beat you. Count on it!" Barry said as Ash started walking away.

(---)

"Hmm... She should be around here..." Ash said to no one in particular as he looked around the crowds of people infront of him.

"Ah! There she is!" Ash smiled as he was about to run to her. But then, his eyes widened. "What the..." Ash said to himself as Serena hugged someone he didn't know.

The person seemed to be a guy, wearing a blue shirt with a white stripe in the middle. He wore a red scarf, matching his red barret with a blue pokeball symbol on it.

"Mind telling me what is going on here?" Ash asked with a serious expression. He didn't know what was going and and didn't believe it was nothing. That was showing as his knuckles popped white.

"Huh? Ash!" Serena smiled widely as she wrapped her arms around him in a hug. "All set for the tournament?" She asked as she broke the hug.

"Yeah, mind telling what this is?" He glared at Lucas, holding his arms around Serena defensively.

"Oh, yeah! Ash, this is Lucas. My cousin from Sinnoh." Serena replied with a smile, turning around in Ash's arms to face Lucas. "And Lucas, this is Ash. My boyfriend." She introduced the two to one another.

Ash sighed in relief, learing that it wasn't anything that could endanger his relationship with Serena. "Hi Lucas, nice to meet you." Ash smiled as he extended his hand.

"Likewise." Lucas smiled. Learning that Ash was Serena's boyfriend made him understand why Ash glared at him at first. But seeing him relax as Serena introduced him, showed him only that Ash was protective about her. "It's good to see that you're in good hands, Serena." Lucas said.

"Mmm." Serena nodded smilingly as she placed her hand on Ash's cheek and kissed the other cheek. "I wouldn't want anyone else instead of him." Serena chimed in.

As they started talking, Ash learned that Lucas also competed in the Sinnoh League when he entered, only to lose against Tobias in the 3rd round.

Soon though, as they talked, one of the elders of the town walked onto the battlefield.

"Greetings everyone!" The old man started. "This week, we're celebrating our annual town festival. Together, with a lot of people who put some hard work in, I can tell you we've made sure that everything is there to make it a total success. And one of those things to make it a success, we need a special someone. Someone who's known across the region who attracts attention. Someone who makes this festival even more excited. Someone to battle against." He said, smirking at the last part.

"And this special someone has come here today to battle against the winner of our special pokemon tournament! Everyone, let me introduce you to our own elite four member, Siebold!" The man yelled as the crowd started cheering. From behind the man walked a blond haired man, wearing white clothing, making him look like a chef cook. Siebold was known throughout whole Kalos to have one of the most prestigious restaurants and not to forget the massive battlefield it housed.

"Greetings people of Vaniville Town. Today, we have something special on the menu. But, only for one of you. The winner of the tournament will be battling me and my partner Blastoise as a prize." Siebold explained with his arms wide, smiling proudly as Blastoise emerged from behind him and stood firmly next to him, making the ground shake to announce his presence.

"Alright! I'm so battle Siebold and win!" Ash cheered loudly.

"Won't be happening Ash, because iii'm gonna battle him!" Barry said confidently, puffing up his chest as he pointed to it.

"No way you guys think you have a chance. Everyone knows it's me who's gonna beat him." Gary stated proudly.

Ash smiled as Gary and Barry started bickering about who's gonna battle Siebold. He turned to her to see her smiling, looking towards the battlefield.

He walked up behind her and wrapped his arms over her shoulders, closing his eyes as he relaxed himself. "Who do you think is gonna win?" He asked casually.

Serena spun her head around to face him. "What kind of question is that? You know that I believe in you." Serena replied with a soft smile.

Ash gave her a soft smile aswell before he gently nuzzled her cheek. "You're the best. You know that?"

"Because I'm supporting you?" Serena giggled jokingly.

"Kind of... it's more like that you always know what to say and you're so sweet." Ash replied.

Serena turned around in his arms, facing him while wrapping her arms around Ash's back. "If this is how you tell me that you love me, let me say it then in this way." Serena said, closing her eyes and leaning in for a loving kiss.

"People, let me announce our first battle. Ash Ketchum against Darren Willow!" The elder said. Soon Darren walked into the battlefield, waiting for Ash to get on it. He released his Growlithe who took battlestance infront of him.

"I guess that's your cue. Here," Serena said, leaning in for another kiss. "That one is for good luck."

"Now I'm positive, I can't lose!" Ash grinned as he released himself from Serena's arms and walked onto the battlefield. "Let's do this Beldum!" Ash yelled enthusiastically, releasing Beldum from its pokeball.

Meanwhile in the Hoenn Region - coastline of Slateport City.

"Are you sure this is it Archer?" A muscular looking man said, looking at the executive standing next to him. The man named Archer had light blue hai, combined with a white outfit, finishing it off with a rather large, red R on his chest.

"Yes Gozu, patience. There is no doubt about it. This here, is the cave of Origin." Archer replied to the man named Gozu. Gozu wore a black team Rocket uniform with a black barret and an eye patch infront of his left eye.

"Let's get the plan into action." Archer stated. He had a large silver coloured briefcase in his hands. Two groups of ten grunts each ran inside the cave while Archer and Gozu stayed behind. "If the boss is correct, then this very same blue orb should summon Kyogre. And if Petrel and Proton, along with those other three do the same at the vulcano near Sootopolis City with the red orb, then Groudon should awaken aswell. The two will noticed one another's presence and will start to battle. That's where we come in." Archer stated as he narrowed his eyes and smirked slyly.

Archer and Gozu continued their way into the cave. They through the lighted tunnels the two groups of grunts placed down already. Soon, they arrived at a rather large lake, deep inside the cave.

"It should be here." Archer stated as he put down his suitcase and opened it up, revealing the blue orb. "Perfect! Now let's head over to fase two." Archer placed the orb inside a small container of a large looking laser machine.

"Is it targeted at the correct coordinates?" Archer asked one of the grunts who were working on the laser.

"Yes sir, all you need to do is to press that button." The grunt replied, pointing to a red button on the dashboard of the laser.

"Good. Now let's do what team Aqua and team Magma failed to do." Archer smirked as he pressed the button. Right after he pressed it, a red beam shot from the laser, right onto the lake. The lake started to glow in a bright red colour.

"Everyone, aim your guns at the lake and soon as Kyogre appears, fire!" Gozu instructed. And just like instructed, they did.

Soon, the ground started to shake violently but the men held on, waiting patiently. A thunderous roar was hurt as suddenly, water shot up into the sky.

"KKKRRRGGGGGG---!" A large wale like pokemon roared as it surfaced, it looked angry as its slumber was disturbed.

"Now!" Gozu ordered. And immediately, the grunts fired their guns, releasing a blue kind of laser. Kyogre roared in pain as the laser hit it.

"Kyogre! Hear my voice! There is no way to resist this. As soon as we will bring you under our control, you will obey our commands and do as we please!" Archer yelled.

Soon, Kyogre calmed down and its eyes glowed red, indicating that it was under their control.

"Good." Archer said as he took the blue orb out of the laser. He walked up to Kyogre and held the orb up high. "Now Kyogre! Evolve back into your ancient form and get out there to cause havoc!" Archer ordered. Just then, the blue orb started to glow brightly. The lights connected with Kyogre as it started to change in form. As soon as it was over, Kyogre let out another thunderous roar, revealing itself in it's Origin form. It immediately dived back under water.

"Did it work?" Gozu asked in a stern voice.

"Just as planned." Archer said as he started making his way out of the cave. Gozu and the grunts followed him and as soon as they were outside, they noticed that rain was pouring down from the sky, covered in dark clouds. Then, Kyogre jumped out of the water, levitating in mid air. Suddenly, the water from the depths of the sea started to pull towards Kyogre in a strong current. It shot up in the sky in four different whirlpool tornadoes and surrounded Kyogre. Thunder rained down from the skies, ginormous waves were created on the water, a hurricane was created.

Then, Kyogre's eyes pointed to something. Something it couldn't resist as it sped off in the direction where it was looking at, leaving a trail of massive ice pillars behind it.

(---)

There was an island, a few miles away from Sootopolis City. The island wasn't big but had one large vulcano on it. Suddenly, out of nothing, the vulcano started to erupt. A large pokemon emerged from the fire. It was non other than Groudon, the Continent Pokemon who was in its origin form. It was extremely angry as it also was awakened from its deep slumber and it noticed something. Something it hated with passion and wanted to deal with now once and for all. The sun shined brightly and it was way hotter than normal as Groudon started to move. As it made its way through the water, it left a trail of molten rocks which were still smoking, creating new land as it went. Next to the island, a helicopter was flying in the air with a few men on board. Between the grunts, there were two men in black clothing with large, red R on the chest. One of them had blue hair while the other had purple.

"It seems our work is done Petrel, and seeing that Groudon is moving east, which means that it's heading towards Slateport City proves that Archer and Gozu did their job aswell" the blue man named Proton said to his partner with purple hair, Petrel.

"And so it seems." Petrel grinned before he cocked his head sideways, towards a grunt. "Make contact with the boss immediately."

"Right Sir!" The grunt replied as he took out a phone and started to type in the number.

*BOOM*

"Venusaur is unable to battle, Bulbasaur wins and the winner of our tournament is Ash Ketchum!" The referee announced as a strong looking Venusaur was on the ground with swirly eyes.

"Alright!" Ash celebrated as he ran to Bulbasaur, hugging his first ever grass type.

"It's so unfair! If it wasn't for that Greninja, I would've easily won this tournament!" Gary wined as he took a bite from a meatball he had on a stick.

"Come on, I clearly would've won if that Lucario wasn't in my way! Now I've got to give Ash a fine!" Barry argued.

"Now Ash, for winning this tournament, we offer you a one year supply of Pokemon food as prize." The elderly man said as he walked onto the battlefield in order to congratulate Ash.

"Thanks!" Ash smiled widely, looking over at pyramid like stacked of blue boxes with a pokeball logo on it.

"And now for your other prize." Another voice said, belonging to Siebold who walked onto the battlefield. "Your battling style is impressive." He praised. "But now, let's see what you've really got."

"Don't worry Siebold! I'm gonna show you how strong we are and win!" Ash said with much confidence, clenching his fist infront of his chest which was mimicked by Pikachu and Lucario.

Ash and Siebold took their places at the sides of the battlefield as the referee made the announcements. "The battle between our elite four member Siebold and tournament winner Ash Ketchum will start now. Siebold has chosen to battle with his Blastoise while Ash has chosen to battle with his Squirtle. The battle will be a 1 on 1 and it is over when either side's pokemon is unable to battle! Now, let the battle begin!" He announced.

"You may have the first move Ash." Siebold gestured.

"You will regret that! Squirtle, let's start things off with Rapid Spin!" Ash commanded confidently.

"Squirtle-squir!" Squirtle cried out as he withdrew itself in it's shell and started spinning rapidly as it soared through the air towards Blastoise.

"Blastoise, take it down with Ice Punch." Siebold spoke calmly.

Blastoise braced itself as its arm became engulfed in ice. Squirtle closed in quickly as Blastoise firmly stood its ground. Squirtle smashed full force into Blastoise's extended fist. A small explosion occurred on impact as the attacks cancelled eachother out while Squirtle retreated back infront of Ash.

"Impressive power." Siebold praised. "But it wont be enough, Blastoise use Hydro Pump." He narrowed his eyes.

"Squirtle dodge it with your own Hydro Pump and follow up with Ice Beam!" Ash countered quickly.

Blastoise aimed its cannons towards Squirtle as an explosive powerful stream of water launched from it towards Squirtle who itself retracted back in its shell and spun rapidly, releasing streams of water from the holes where it's arms and feet used to be. The streams of water went straight for Squirtle who impressively moved around it before shooting up into the air. There, it stopped using Hydro Pump and shot out of its shell, only for it to release multiple beams of ice.

"Blastoise, quick use Dragon Pulse to counter!" Siebold countered as the seriousness of the battle was increasing.

Blastoise released a dragon shaped, multicoloured energy from its cannons but it was to no avail as it was about to place its feet right but his feet froze to the ground as the ice hit.

"Great Squirtle! Now use your momentum to our advantage and finish this with a full power Skull Bash!" Ash punched the air with excitement.

"Squirrrrtleeee!" Squirtle roared as he dived down head first, covered in a white aura.

"Ash actually might win this..." Gary murmured in surprise but loud enough for everyone to hear. Barry looked on in complete astonishment.

Serena had a smile plastered on her face. She knew how strong Ash was but now that he was actually giving Siebold, one of Kalos's own elite four a hard time. She couldn't be more proud than now.

Siebold gritted his teeth as Squirtle closed in fast. "It's been enough fun for now. Blastoise, Mega Evolve!" He yelled as he revealed the keystone in his collar and tapped it.

The lights collided with the ones coming from the Blastoisite on its head, shining brightly. Blastoise transformed and a large cannon came out in the middle of its shell behind its head. On its hands, another set of cannons appeared as the change finished and the helix symbol. Blastoise roared loudly as it was in its new form while it stepped out of the ice.

"Ah!" Ash gasped as Squirtle crashed head first into Blastoise who easily handled the attack.

"Blastoise, finish it off with Dragon Pulse." Siebold said in a commanding tone.

"Squirtle get out of there!" Ash yelled. But it was to no avail as Blastoise aimed its launchers at Squirtle who wide eyed looked on as the Dragon energy left Blastoise's cannons. Squirtle screamed in agony as the boosted attack due to its mega launcher ability hit hard.

"Squirtle!" Ash yelled in panic as Squirtle was slammed into the ground, creating an explosion on impact. A large smoke cloud, full of dust and debris shot up, covering both pokemon in it.

Everything became silent as everyone watched the cloud of smoke carefully, hoping to get a small peek in before anyone else.

Soon though, the smoke dispersed and the result was visible. Squirtle was inside a large crater with swirly eyes.

"Squirtle is unable to battle, Blastoise wins which means the winner of this match is Siebold!" The referee announced and at the same time, Blastoise reverted back to its normal form.

Ash quickly ran over to Squirtle and kneeled down next to him. "You were awesome buddy. We've almost won and that's thanks to your." Ash praised as Squirtle gave Ash a sad look.

Then, Siebold came walking over with Blastoise by his side. "That was some impressive battling out there. We've never been driven this far against a first stage Evolution." Siebold complimented as he and Ash gave eachother a handshake.

"So close..." Barry sighed dramatically. "Squirtle was impressively strong." Gary added.

Serena felt sad for Ash and Squirtle. They did so well but in the end, they couldn't taste victory. "Ash is really strong Serena." Lucas said all of a sudden as he walked up next to her.

Serena turned to him and noticed him. "Oh hey Lucas. Yeah, both Ash and Squirtle are a team for years already." Serena smiled slightly, looking back at Ash who came walking over to them with Pikachu and Lucario as he just had Squirtle returned.

Serena quickly walked up to him and embraced him. "I'm sorry that you lost." She said in a saddened tone. Ash hugged back before breaking the hug but not removing his hands from her shoulders. He flashed a small smile to her. "There's nothing to feel sorry for. We gave it our all and showed how strong we can be! Squirtle was awesome and that's all I care about." Ash said truthfully.

Serena gave a small smile as she placed her hand on top of Ash's which was on her right shoulder in sympathy. "You're right." Serena nodded.

Ash chuckled lightly and flashed his famous toothy grin. "It was an awesome battle!" He stated.

Just then, a large shadow covered the battlefield and everything around it.

"What's that!?" Serena asked, trying to figure it out.

"Huh?" Ash said as he looked up. Then his eyes widened in surprise and a smile formed, knowing what it was. "It's the battle pyramid!" He exclaimed excitedly as the battle pyramid flew off a bit further before it started to descend in a large open field.

As it flew over the open field, it stopped and slowly made its way down. As it touched down, the engine's in the four corners turned off and retracted back into its original shape.

The door in the middle of the pyramid opened as it revealed two men. One in a green and one in a brown explorer kit. While the green one wore a full outfit, the other one wore shorts and a short sleeved shirt, along with a small dark brown coloured scarf.

"Brandon!" Ash yelled excitedly as he, along with Gary, Serena, Barry, Brock, Misty and Lucas came up running.

Brandon looked up. His eyes dilated for a moment before he let out a small smile. "Ash, good to see you." He said.

Everyone came to a halt right infront of Brandon where Ash introduced everyone except for Brock, Gary and Serena. Brandon knew Brock from his travels with Ash and Gary once helped out with a research project near some old ruins in Sinnoh.

"And Brandon, I finally want to introduce you to Serena, my girlfriend." Ash finally introduced Serena, wrapping his arm around her back and pulling her close to him with a big smile.

"Very well. Nice to meet all of you." Brandon said in a calm tone.

"So Brandon, what brings you here?" Ash asked in curiously.

"Actually Ash, the very reason I'm here is that I need to speak to you. I've heard from professor Oak when I visited Pallet Town that you lived here now." Brandon explained himself.

"See me? Why?" Ash asked, sounding confused as he raised his eyebrow. Serena hooked her arm in his, also raising an eyebrow.

"That reason, I can only tell you in private." Brandon said with a serious look on his face. One that wasn't gonna negotiate.

Uh... OK." Ash said, looking over at Serena. "Can Serena c----"

"NOOO!" Brandon yelled sternly, causing everyone to flinch immediately. "This is only for your ears to hear!" He shouted, doubding like he was at the point of anger.

"Fine. If Serena can't know, I won't talk with you. I don't have any secrets for her and I won't keep any for her either." Ash said, closing his eyes, crossing his arms and turning his head sideways, showing that he was completely serious about the situation.

Brandon sighed. "Very well, if you play it that way, fine then. But only her!" He spoke calm but in a stern way. Then, Brandon turned around and walked back into the Battle Pyramid.

"Good." Ash said, gently taking Serena by the arm and following him inside, leaving the others out.

"Ash... you didn't need to do that." Serena wispered to him as they followed Brandon. Though, she was happy that he stood up for her like that.

"Serena..." Ash started as he faced her. "I don't want to do anything in secrecy. You know that I trust you with 100 percent and that I won't lie about anything. I want to hear what he has to say and I want you to be able to hear it aswell. If Brandon came all this way to talk to me, it has to be important." Ash explained himself.

Serena gave him a sweet look, hugging his arm to show some affection and understanding. She knew that he trusted her with her life, just like she did. She wouldn't keep secrets for him either.

"This way." Brandon said as he led them down a hallway, walking up to a door that was at the end of the hallway. He opened it and entered the controll room with Ash and Serena following closely behind.

"Joshua, can you come back a bit later? I need to talk with these two for a moment." Brandon said to his assistant who flew the massive structure.

"Sure! Let me know when I'm needed again sir." Joshua replied before he left the room. Brandon motioned Ash and Serena to sit down on a set of chairs placed in the corner of the room.

"What do you want to talk about Brandon?" Ash asked curiously as they sat down.

Brandon sat down and closed his eyes. He let out a deep breath as he opened them again and faced Ash and Serena. "Ash... I would like to offer you the role of Pyramid King."

"WHAT!?" Serena said as both of them looked at Brandon with shocked expressions. "Why?" Ash asked.

"You are the first ever person to beat the battle frontier and you've shown that you're capable of much more. I have currently my mind set on something else which is currently more important." Brandon explained himself.

"Last time when the role of frontier brain was offered, I declined because I want to be a pokemon master. This is why I will decline again." Ash said.

"It is only temporarily Ash. In a few days, I have a challenger. This trainer beat every brain so far but unfortunately, I can't battle. I have something else to attend to. Therefore, I need a strong replacement and I want you Ash." Brandon said with a serious expression on his face.

Ash looked like he was in deep thought as Serena and Brandon looked at him. "What about school? And for how long?" Ash asked.

"That will all be taken care of. As for how long the trip will be, I expect that you'll return in two weeks. Now, what do you say Ash?" Brandon returned the question.

Ash glanced sideways so that his eyes made contact with Serena's who looked at him in curiosity. "Alright. Under one condition." Ash said in a serious tone, not twitching his eyes.

"Go ahead, name it." Brandon said unimpressed, knowing what the condition already was.

"I want Serena to come along if that's possible." Ash said, causing Serena to look up at him in surprise.

"Absolutely not." Brandon said firmly.

"But---!"

"Noooo!" Brandon roared. "There are things going on with the stakes so high, that you can't even imagine!" Brandon spoke in all seriousness.

"Fine. Then you've got your answer." Ash spat back in the same tone as he stood up and took Serena's hand. "We're done here." Ash added as he opened up the door.

"Think about it carefully Ash. I'll be at this exact place until tomorrow night. If I don't have an answer by then, we'll leave, with or without you." Brandon spoke as Ash left and closed the door behind him.

"If I only could tell him the real reason..." Brandon murmured to himself, looking down at the ground with his teeth gritted and his fists clenched that his knuckles popped white.

"Hey Ash, what did he want from you?" Gary asked as he saw Ash and Serena walking out of the Battle Pyramid. Ash had a troubled look on his face as he held Serena's hand, walking infront of her and leading her.

"Nothing." Ash replied shortly. "We're going home." He added, almost sounding he was pissed off about something.

Gary and the others looked at eachother before watching Ash and Serena leave, along with Lucario and Pikachu.

On their way back, none of them said anything. Serena could see that Ash wasn't happy and she tried to talk to him a few times but had ultimately to agree with him. Although he was over exaggerating things in her opinion. And the fact that he didn't say anything was slowly building up some frustrations.

"We're home!" Ash announced as he opened the door. But to their surprise, there was no response. Not his mom, not even Mr. Mime.

Upon entering the kitchen, they found a note which said that Delia and Mr. Mime were out to get some groceries.

Ash still seemed frustrated and this was the moment for Serena to let him know. "Ash? Say something!" She practically yelled as she grabbed his shoulder and turned him around.

"What do you want me to say?" Ash said in a frustrated tone.

"Anything!" Serena said as her voice became softer and more sweet. "Look, I know you are annoyed by Brandon but you really should consider this." Serena said, much to Ash's surprise.

"But what about you? I don't want to go if you can't come along!" Ash said in his defense.

"That's sweet and all but I can manage." Serena replied sweetly, placing her arms around his neck and taking him into a hug. "You don't have to stop doing what you like for me. I want you to be as happy as you can be." Serena softly wispered in Ash's ear.

"I'll give it a thought later. Just know that... You're more important than my dream of becoming a Pokemon Master." Ash said, taking a step back in order to look Serena into the eyes.

Serena was taken aback by Ash's words. Her battle obsessed boyfriend said that she was more important than his dream. Ofcourse she knew that she meant a lot to him, and the other way around but for him to say that she's more important? She never expected that. But then, She also thought of the goal of becoming Ash's girlfriend was more important than becoming Kalos Queen.

Serena took this moment to lean in and give him a passionate kiss. "Thank you." Serena said after breaking the kiss.

(---)

Later on at night, Ash and Serena were sleeping together. Or actually, Serena was sleeping with her head and arms on Ash's chest while Ash had her arm wrapped around her. He laid on his back and was staring at the ceiling, in deep thought.

Suddenly, he felt some movement. "Huh?" He looked down only to see Serena slightly moving her head up and sleepily looking him into the eyes.

"Can't sleep?" She asked in a sleepy voice.

"I guess... I've just been thinking." Ash said, looking back at the ceiling while he gently stroke his hand over her arm.

"Thinking about Brandon?" Serena continued, moving up a bit in order to come closer.

"Yeah... I just don't know what to do, what his motives are and why he wants me." Ash sighed, moving up so he sat up straight.

Serena smiled sweetly as she she laid down on her back with her head on his lap, looking straight up into his eyes. "Wanna know what I think?"

"What?" Ash curiously looked at her.

"I think you should do it." Serena replied, stroking her hand over Ash's leg in comfort.

"What... why?" Ash asked curiously.

"I think it would be a welcoming experience for you, something you might need in the future. Whenever we stop with our journeys and settle down somewhere..." Serena blushed as she stopped a moment from talking, thinking of living together, their own small family. "...You could take the role of champion and fulfill your duties. Like a real job." Serena explained her reasoning.

Ash gave her a warm smile. "I'd like that." He said with a dreamy look in his eyes, giving her a tight, comfortable hug. But then, he frowned again. "Are you sure that you can live without me for two whole weeks?" He asked.

"I think I can do it." Serena replied with a small nod, burying the sad feeling that she had to miss him for that long.

"But what if I can't?" Ash returned the question.

Serena gave a small kiss on the cheek. "I'm sure you can. Besides, let's make sure we call one another everyday." Serena suggesting, pointing upwards as it came up like a small light bulb moment.

Ash pulled her in close, holding his arms around her while swaying slowly from side to side, almost in a comforting way. But he was happy that she suggested that. The idea of still being with eachother is something he wanted to have.

"You know what?" Ash asked with a smile. "I'm gonna do it!" Ash smiled at her.

Serena crawled up a bit until she sat on Ash's lap. She placer both her hands on Ash's cheeks and kissed him passionately. "Be careful out there." She wispered softly before planting her lips on his again, starting a small make out session.

"I will." Ash replied between the kisses.

(---)

The next morning, Ash was first to wake up. He was about to get up but felt Serena's arms wrapped around him from behind. He carefully turned around to see her still asleep with a peaceful smile on her face. This brought a smile on his own face.

He needed to get off the bed though to make a call to Brandon and inform him that he would be coming along. Aswell as he had to pack his stuff and select the pokemon he wanted to take for the trip.

Carefully he took Serena's hands and gently lifted them off from him. Releasing himself from her grip, Ash slowly snaked his way out of the bed, making sure not to wake her up.

He grabbed his phone and slowly and silently opened the door before walking out and silently closing it again. Then, he walked to the bathroom.

He locket the door and grabbed his phone where he typed in the number. The phone made a beeping noise, indicating that he was calling someone.

Soon, the phone got answered. "Hello?" The voice from the other side spoke.

"Hello Brandon." Ash said in all seriousness.

"Ash." Brandon started, matching his seriousness. "Seeing that you call me, I assume that you've made a decision." Brandon stated.

"That's right." Ash took a deep breath before he exhaled. "I'm joining you for two weeks, not longer."

"Good." Brandon said in a genuine tone. "Once you're here, I'll introduce you to the rest of the team."

"Rest of the team? What are you talking about?" Ash asked. He received no answer and took his phone from his ear and looked at the screen, revealing that Brandon had ended the call. Ash sighed and decided to take a shower.

After taking a shower, he put on his usual outfit, finishing it off with placing his red cap on his head. He brushed his teeth before walking back to his room.

Upon entering his room, he saw that Serena was still asleep with the sheets covering half of her body. Ash smiled as he walked over and took the sheets in his hand before pulling it higher up so that Serena wouldn't feel cold or anything. As he did that, he lowered his head above hers and gently kissed her forehead before he wispered, "Don't worry about me, I'll be just outside with my pokemon. Love you."

While sleeping, a small smile appeared on Serena's face, as if she heard everything. Then, Ash walked outside, placed the bowls of pokemon food on the ground and filled each and everyone with food. Then, he walked over to Bulbasaur.

"Bulbasaur, can you summon everyone?" Ash wispered as he met the seed pokemon on eye level, bend through his knees.

"Bulba-bulbasaur." Bulbasaur nodded as he took a step back and shot a seed into the air, exploding in multiple colours which represented every region Ash had been to. The explosion wasn't loud but the sparkles from the seed were visible from miles away.

Soon, everyone gathered infront of Ash and started eating. After they were done, Pikachu joined them and walked over to Lucario who stood next to Beldum who floated in the air itself. Ash smiled at the large number of pokemon he had collected over the years. With each and everyone of them, lots of memories were made.

"Alright everyone. I'll be leaving tonight for two weeks. Brandon, the Pyramid King asked me to join him for a while and now I went to you guys. I preselected three pokemon I'm taking with me, and for the other three placed, I want you all to train with one another and that's how I'll decide the last three spots on my team, understood?"

Ash had already decided to take his first pick and number one partner Pikachu with him. Furthermore, he decided to take Beldum with him so it could gain more experience. He was still quite young and some experience in a different environment, without his sister Absol would be good for it.

As his third pick, he wanted a powerhouse with him. And who else than his strongest and most trusted pokemon when it came to battles, Charizard. With Charizard on the team, the ability to Mega Evolve, there weren't much chances he was gonna lose any battles.

He wanted to take Lucario at first but later on decided against it. After a small talk with Lucario, it agreed to stay behind. Ash wanted it to be at Serena's side at all times. If something were to happen, he could count on Lucario to protect her, no matter the cost.

Ash looked through the group of pokemon as they were sparring against eachother. He was impressed by the display of power that Tyranitar and Dragonite showed, aswell as the speed Sceptile and Greninja showed.

He was also impressed by the manoeuvrability that Staraptor, Pidgeot, Swellow, Unfezant and Talonflame showed as they turned directions quickly through the air.

"Man... this is more difficult than I thought..." Ash murmured to himself.

Just then, he felt a pair of hands wrap around him and something on his back. He turned around to see Serena, wearing her regular clothes as she hugged him. He smiled and leaned in for a loving kiss, which she happily returned.

"Goodmorning beautiful." Ash smiled warmly.

"Goodmorning. When I woke up, I saw you were gone. Anyway, whatcha doing?" Serena asked, raising her eyebrow as she looked at him curiously.

Ash turned back to see his pokemon, working as hard as ever. "I'm deciding who I'm taking with me." He spoke up. As Ash said those words, Serena looked to the ground. Truth was, she felt sad that he had to leave but she also thought it was good for him. She wanted him to be happy and doing this, it would make him a better trainer, even if it was only for two weeks.

"Does Brandon already know you're coming?" Serena asked in a low voice.

"Yeah, I called him earlier." Ash said. But then he turned around and saw the sadness in her eyes. He cupped her chin and said in a sweet, "Hey, something wrong?"

Serena gave a small smile. "Yeah... it's just that I'm gonna miss you a lot."

Without a warning, Ash pulled her in for a comforting hug as one of his hands was around her waist and the other was slowly stroking her back. "I'm gonna miss you too. But that doesn't mean we're gonna be without eachother." Ash said in almost a questioning tone.

Serena looked up to him, staring in his auburn brown eyes with her mouth slightly open. A small smile appeared on her face. "You're right!" She spoke determinedly before bringing herself up on the top of her toes to give Ash a quick peck on the lips. "Thanks! I needed that."

"Always!" Ash grinned warmly. "Now, would you like to help me choose which three I'm taking with me?" Ash said as Pikachu, Charizard and Beldum walked and floated over to him.

"Isn't Lucario coming?" Serena asked in a puzzling tone.

"Nope. Lucario will be staying here for a special task." Ash spoke in a certain tone.

"And that special task is?" Serena asked in confusion, raising her eyebrow slightly.

"To stay by your side at all times." Ash smiled, placing his hand on her back and gently stroking it.

"You don't need to do that y'know? I can take care of myself." Serena replied, telling him in a certain tone.

"I know. But it's just that I want that. Besides, Lucario doesn't bother. He likes you just as much as we do." Ash said, looking over at all of his pokemon. Just then, Donphan and Gliscor clashed against eachother. Gliscor put his claws around Donphan's tusks but it struggled as Donphan kept pushing hard.

"Good going you guys! Keep it up!" Ash praised as both of them put in some extra effort.

Then, Ash noticed someone else, someone who was always up to battle and on the top if its league. It then shot a powerful stream of water into the sky, trying to hit one of the flying types who successfully dodged.

"Floa-floatzel!" It shouted as it jumped up, spun around its axis in order to swipe its tail powerfully, releasing a wave of energy into the air. Everyone dodged, except for one.

"Unfezant---!" It screeched as it flapped it's wings to release powerful saw like discs which slammed right into the wave of energy, exploding on impact.

"Awesome!" Ash yelled. "Unfezant and Floatzel, come over here please." Ash said. Just as they heard Ash, Floatzel ran over quickly as Unfezant landed infront of him. "You two are doing awesome! So, how about you two joining the team?" Ash asked them.

"Floa-floa!" Floatzel cheered excitedly, clenching it's fin like hand infront of its chest, in a way of saying that it was ready for anything that could be thrown at him.

"Un-unfezant!" Unfezant chirped happily and determinedly. "Good! Now, one more..." Ash said, looking around.

"Ash! Take a look at that!" Serena said all of a sudden, pointing to his left side.

"MOOOOOO!!"

Ash's eyes grew wide as a stampede of thirty Tauros was heading in his direction. Ash worriedly looked over at Serena who froze in place, unable to make any movement. "Serena! Get out of the way! Quick!" Ash yelled bit it was to no avail. He loved his Tauros but the way they showed their affection was always painful.

Just as Ash looked back at the group of Tauros running into his direction, he felt the ground shake. He looked down, only to see a hole growing wider and wider infront of him with a red, black crocodile in it.

"KROOKE--- KROOKODILE!" It yelled. Without thinking, Ash grabbed Serena and jumped into the hole. He covered his head as he dodged the incoming Tauros by inches. The stampede ran right over them and seemed to calm down as they slowed down aswell.

Ash climbed out of the hole, helping Serena to get out there aswell. Then, he turned to Krookodile. "Thanks for the help Krookodile." Ash thanked his ace from his Unova travels.

"Yeah, thank you! I don't know what would've happened if you didn't save us in time." Serena thanked Krookodile aswell.

"Krooko- Krookodile!" It roared happily, pointing his thumb upwards.

"Say what. Krookodile, how about you being my final choice for the team?" Ash asked the intimidation pokemon.

"Dile! Krooko!" Krookodile replied happily to hearing Ash asking to come.

"Then it's settled!" Ash said cheerfully. "Pikachu, Charizard, Beldum, Unfezant, Floatzel and last but not least Krookodile. With a line up like that, nothing can go wrong!" Ash said proudly as he looked directly at each pokemon as he called them out. All of them cheered loudly while all the other pokemon cheered for them.

Serena smiled at the sweet moment between Ash and his pokemon but deep down, she still felt sad. Then, she looked back at Ash and smiled determinedly. This would be a test, a test of how strong their love really was. And when he would come back, she would show him all her affection towards him. But for now, she wanted to enjoy their last day for a while and walked up to him, hugging him from behind again.

"Shall we grab some breakfast, I'm feeling kinda hungry." Serena said in a soft tone, enjoying the feeling of having her hands wrapped around Ash while her head was on his back again. She loved hugging like this. Sometimes it made her feel like they were already together for years.

"Good idea, I could use some food aswell!" Ash replied smilingly before he turned around and lifted Serena up, much to her surprise. "Aaah! Ashh!" She yelled but soon, she melt into it, wrapping her arms around his neck and laying her head on his shoulder. She was still facing him but he hand his arms under her, meaning that she was sitting on it while he still held her. Her legs were spread on each side of his body.

Ash walked inside the house, still holding her before he gently placed her on a barstool which stood next to the kitchen island.

Ash glided himself over the kitchen floor to the other side of the kooking island and rested his arms on it, intertwining his fingers as he looked at Serena. "Now, what do you want to eat? I'll make it for you!" Ash said smilingly.

"Oh really?" Serena replied teasingly, narrowing her eyes. "And what are you gonna make for me then? I don't remember you being a great chef..."

"I--- I--- I can make pancakes, aswell as eggs and bacon!" Ash shouted in his defense, holding his hands in the air.

"You can only make that?" Serena said in an over dramatic manner, holding her hand dramatically infront of her mouth.

"I--- uhhh---" Ash started sweating. "I give up." He sighed, hanging his head in defeat.

"Hahaha!" Serena laughed, tears of joy watering her eyes. Soon though, as she calmed down, she wiped them. "Pancakes is fine Ash, I was only joking." Serena said, recovering from her sudden burst of laughter.

Ash sighed as he turned around, still hanging his head low as he grabbed the baking pan and placed it on the oven. "Here I thought, I spend my last day here for a while with you, yet the day has just begun and you're already making fun of me..."

"Ouch, that hurt..." Serena said, faking a sad look on her face as she placed her hands on her heart.

"What's all this ruckus about?" Delia asked in a sleepy manner as she stood in the down the stairs, leaning against the wall and rubbing her eyes.

"Oh, sorry to wake you up mom." Ash apologised. "Yeah... I was just teasing Ash a little. It was not my intention to wake you up." Serena added.

"It's no problem dear." Delia said as she hung her hands down and formed a small smile. That smile quickly turned into a frown though as she looked at Ash. "Are you gonna cook?"

"Why does everyone think I'm useless I'm the kitchen." Ash sighed, hanging his head down again, causing Serena to giggle.

The following minutes, they continued conversing on a normal note again. Delia helped Ash making the pancakes in order to fasten things up. Meanwhile, Ash told Delia that he was going with Brandon for two weeks which Delia turned to Serena first with a questioning look in her eyes. She agreed with Ash to join Brandon and while he was out, Delia would make sure to have some fun girl nights with Serena which sounded pretty interesting to Serena.

Soon, breakfast was ready as Ash took a plate, placed a few pancakes on it and put it infront of Serena. "Breakfast is served!" He said with a warm and happy smile on his face.

"Thanks Ash!" Serena spoke before she took a bite. "Hmmm, this tastes really good!" Serena said in an impressed manner.

"Told you I can cook." Ash said in a sarcastic manner before he sat down on a barstool next to Serena with a plate infront of him.

"So..." Delia started as she sat down at the other side of them, taking a small sip of her cup of coffee. "What are your plans for the day?"

"I was thinking to just keep it calm for today. Packing my stuff, spending some time with my pokemon and most importantly Serena." Ash replied truthfully.

"I could help you pack your stuff to save some time and then we could take a stroll and go to the park or something?" Serena commented.

"Sounds good to me." Ash agreed before taking another bite of his pancake.

Soon, Gary woke up aswell and entered the kitchen. Ash explained to Gary that he would be leaving for a while to which Gary only shrugged. As soon as Brandon asked to talk with Ash, he knew Ash would somehow end up leaving for a while. After that, they conversed a bit over different topics such as Serena's upcoming performance, Gary's next gym battle and much more.

After breakfast, Ash and Serena headed back up the stairs, to Ash's room. Ash bend down on his knees and pulled out a bag from under his bed. It was a grayish-green bag and as soon as he looked at it, memories started to flood his mind as a smile appeared on his face.

"Isn't that the one you had with you during our journey?" Serena asked, pointing to the bag.

"Jep! And I'm gonna take it with me to Hoenn!" He smiled, looking into her direction. "After all, wearing this bag is when we've reunited!" He added.

"Oh Ash..." Serena smiled cutely before walking up to him and giving him a loving kiss.

As they broke the kiss, Serena said, "Now let's get you set up!" As the words left Serena's mouth, Ash walked over to his closet and opened the sliding doors. As soon as he did, he froze in place, locking his eyes with the top layer, on top of a plank. There were all his hats in order.

He looked at them and took the first one he ever wore, during his journeys through Kanto, the Orange Islands and Jotho. He held it in his hands and looked at it. Then, a determined smile formed on his face. He took his own head off and placed the original one ontop of his head. "Serena?" Ash called out.

"Yeah Ash?" Serena said, not turning around as she was putting some other stuff inside his bag. Ash walked over and placed his hand on her shoulder, causing her to turn her head. As soon as she faced Ash and seeing the other hat on his head, she looked at him confused.

Without saying a word, Ash took Serena's grey hat from her head and placed his cap on her head. "Here, a small reminder of me as long as I'm gone." Ash smiled brightly.

Serena took the cap from her head and looked at it. Then, she looked at Ash with watery eyes. "Owh Ash.." She said as she rushed into his arms, hugging him tightly. "Stop being so sweet. I can't handle this for much longer." She spoke, placing her chin on his shoulder.

Not much later, they broke the hug and continued packing. Around a hour later, they finished and went back downstairs where Ash placed his bag against the wall, next to the door.

"We need to get to my pokemon before we go to the park." Ash said hurriedly as he walked to the backdoor and opened it, followed by Serena. He told Bulbasaur that he needed all of his pokemon here as there was something urgent he had to tell them.

Soon, they all gathered around Ash, including the thirty Tauros who, to Ash's amazement didn't try to trample him to death this time.

"Alright everyone, I want to tell you all something important." Ash started, looking around the group of pokemon, making sure everyone was there. Pikachu was sitting on Lucario's shoulder as all of them listened to what their trainer had to say.

"As I told earlier, I'll be gone for two weeks and I'm taking a few of you with me, rotating every now and then." He said before he glanced over to Serena. "While I'm away, I want all of you to listen and behave yourselves. Serena, my mom and Gary will take care of you all." Ash spoke loud and clear.

They all nodded in understanding as Ash and Serena looked with a satisfied smile around the humongous group of pokemon. Then, Ash's eyes popped. "There is one more thing!" He said, regaining all of their attention, including Serena's. "Whenever Serena calls up on one of you guys for help or whatever, you will obey. I know, not all of you have known her for that long as some others do but do it, okay?" Ash asked around, making they understood him.

All of them we're a bit hesitant but as soon as Dragonite took the lead and hugged Ash and Serena nearly to death, everyone agreed. Even the newer pokemon, like Tyranitar and Gengar who didn't thrust trainers easily accepted reluctantly as they knew their trainer loved her and she was nothing but good to them. All of the pokemon dispersed after Ash made the announcement, going back to what they were doing, except for Pikachu and Lucario who walked over to Ash's side.

As soon as all of them left, Serena turned to Ash. "Ash... that wasn't necessary. I can take care of myself, you know that."

"I know." Ash shrugged as he continued, "But I want them to listen to you as well as they do to me. Afterall, I said that my pokemon were as good as yours." He greeted her with a warm smile.

Serena smiled back gratefully before they walked back to the front door where they said their goodbyes to Delia and Gary before they walked over to the park.

They spend there most of the morning, letting their pokemon 0lay while they spend some quality time with each other. Serena stayed as close as she could to him as she wasn't able to spend time with him during the upcoming time. She still felt anxious about it but didn't want to show it. Therefore, she showed her affection towards him multiple ways like, hugging him once in a while, sudden kisses and hooking her arm in his, wrapping her own around it.

Soon, they sat down for lunch. They had brought a small picnic basket with them. They found a nice clearing where they worked together to put down the blanket and set everything up. Ash filled the bowls for their pokemon with pokemon food as Serena put a pokepuff beside each bowl.

After they were done, they sat down on the blanket, across from eachother. Ash pulled a small box out of the blanket and opened it, revealing some sandwiches. "Here," Ash said, handing over one of the sandwiches while he grabber one for himself.

They ate and drank together while having a laugh as they shared a few stories with one another. As they laughed, they couldn't help but admire eachother and the scenery around them. It felt really romantic and they wanted nothing else than spend it like this.

After their picnic, they cleaned everything up and dropped the basket at Ash's home. Pikachu and Lucario also decided to stay home as they had a pretty good idea of how their trainer and his mate would spend the rest of the day. Then, Ash and Serena left for Lumiose City. They strolled around different shops for a part of the afternoon. Ash was a bit hesitant at first but reluctantly agreed as he really wanted Serena to be happy.

They went past several shops. Serena tried some new dresses and other clothing, some jewelry and other stuff. Ash was really interested in the way she looked, wearing the different sets of clothes and jewelry. Sometimes he even had to calm himself down as the urge to touch her was almost irresistible.

Then, after they were done, they walked past a Pokemart where Ash checked out some stuff. He supplied himself with a few extra pokeballs, potions and other necessities.

As they left the store, with Serena hugging Ash's arm happily, the sun already started to lower. Ash noticed this and spoke up, "I think it's time we should head back."

Serena's mood immediately switched. She knew it was almost time but she didn't want him to leave yet. Ash noticed her sudden change of mood and stepped infront of her, cupping her chin with his hand. "Everything alright?"

"Yeah, why wouldn't I be?" Serena asked, faking a slight smile as she raised her eyebrow.

"Just making sure." Ash smiled warmly before wrapping his arms around her. He knew something was up and he had a pretty good idea what it was.

Almost an hour later, they returned home where Ash grabbed his bag and was about to leave. He was now standing in the doorway with Serena next to him and Gary and Delia on the other side of them.

"Take care honey, I'll miss you." Delia said in a cracking voice, sounding like she was almost crying. At that moment, she took Ash in a bear hug, rubbing her hand over his head.

"Me too mom, I'll miss you too." Ash spoke softly before ending the hug. After that, he looked over at Gary.

"Stay safe bud, make sure no one beats you before I do." Gary smirked as he extended his fist for a fistbump.

"Promise." Ash grinned, bumping his fist. But as he did that, Gary reached out and gave him a bro hug. As he did, he wispered in Ash's ear, "I'll take good care of her. You don't have to worry one bit."

"Thanks Gary." Ash spoke truthfully before they took a step back, smiling at eachother. Then, Ash turned to Serena. "Shall we go?" He asked.

"Yeah..." Serena replied with a hint of sadness. Again, Ash noticed this but he decided to act like he didn't. He took her hand and walked through the fence gates. "Bye mom! Bye Gary, see you in two weeks!" Ash said in a upbeat voice.

They exchanged their goodbyes aswell as waving at eachother. After that, Ash and Serena walked down the street on their way to the place where Brandon had landed the battle pyramid. During the walk, Serena was silent and Ash felt that it was now time to act on it. "Serena?"

"Huh?" Serena looked up, snapping out of her thoughts. "Yeah Ash?"

Ash looked straight forward with a determined face. "Let's have a pokemon battle!"

"What? Why?" Serena replied in shock. "I've seen the way you behaved as soon as one of us mentioned that I'll be źźaving for a while. Therefore, let's have a battle!" Ash grinned widely.

"But what does that help?" Serena sounded slightly annoyed. She knew he was right but she didn't see any purpose in a battle. "And if we do, you'll be late for Brandon.

"He can wait." Ash said nonchalantly before turning to a small clearing beside them. "You coming or not?"

"Fine." Serena grunted before following him and taking stance across from him.

Ash took his place as he looked over to his shoulder. "Pikachu, wanna help me out bud?" Ash smiled warmly, knowing the answer already as he extended his arm.

"Pikapi!" Pikachu cried happily before running over Ash's arm and jumping infront of him, ready to battle.

Serena sighed from the other side as she took out a pokeball. "I don't know why we do this but come on out Delphox!" Serena yelled with some venom in her voice at the last part of her sentence.

"Delphox!" Delphox exclaimed as she took out her branch and stood infront of Serena.

"You can have the first move!" Ash shouted, moving his hand slightly forward to make his point clear.

"Delphox, use Flamethrower!" Serena yelled without hesitation. Delphox immediately grabbed her branch and aimed it towards Pikachu. A stream of flames emerged from it and was sent right in Pikachu's direction.

"Pikachu dodge! Then, follow up with Thunderbolt!" Ash called out quickly as the flames closed in fast. Immediately, Pikachu jumped up, letting the flames hit the ground before dissapearing completely. Then, Pikachu slapped its red cheeks as sparks emerged from it. Pikachu became emerged with Elecrticity before a bolt went straight for Delphox.

"Use Psychic to turn it around!" Serena commanded. Just as commanded, Delphox's eyes glowed blue as the bolt of electricity became outlined in blue aswell. In one swoop, the bolt turned around, heading straight for Pikachu.

"Use this to your advantage! Use quick Attack and follow up with Iron Tail!" Ash countered quickly, pointing his finger towards Delphox.

"Pika!" Pikachu cried out as the thu crashed into the ground where Pikachu stood mere seconds ago. Just as Pikachu dissapeared, it reappeared in the air right above Delphox as it swung around its axis before striking hard its metal coated tail into her. Delphox grunted as it scooted back a few meters.

"Good! Keep up the pressure with Thunderbolt!" Ash continued his assault.

Pikachu leaped into the air once more before releasing another bolt of electricity from its sparking cheeks, engulfing Delphox completely.

"Delphox!" Serena cried in horror as her fateful starter screamed in pain.

"Keep your cool Serena!" Ash shouted firmly. "I know that your mind is occupied with us being separated for a while but that can't stop your thinking! What about your pokemon? They need you aswell! Never give up until the end."

As soon as the words left Ash's mouth, Serena's eyes widened, knowing he was right. Even though she still felt sad about the situation, her pokemon counted on her to bring her A game. And she needed to stay strong for him, like he always did for her. A small smile crept on Serena's face as the fears, the doubts and the insecurity were replaced by a huge boost of confidence.

Ash saw the confident smile. "Yeah, that's what I was looking for." He mumbled to himself as Serena called out her next command. "Delphox, Mystical Fire!"

Delphox swung its branch around in a circle, forming a ring of red-orange fire in front of itself. It then released a red-orange stream of fire from its mouth at Pikachu.

"Jump up to dodge!" Ash called out. Pikachu leaped up, dodging the incoming attack again.

"Gotcha!" Serena said to herself. "Delphox, grab Pikachu with Psychic and follow up with Hidden Power!"

Ash's eyes widened as he knew Pikachu had nowhere to run. Delphox's eyes glowed blue, just Like Pikachu who was trapped in the psychic energy. Delphox moved Pikachu closer to her as she charged up three multicoloured balls and launched them all at once at close range.

*BOOM*

"Pikachu!" Ash yelled in concern as smoke rose up from the explosive impact that surrounded Pikachu.

"Keep up your guard Delphox!" Serena warned in a loud enough voice for Delphox to hear who focused on the smoke cloud.

The cloud eventually faded, revealing a battered Pikachu who was standing on its feet, gritting its teeth as it glared at Delphox.

Serena looked at Pikachu as she started to call out her next attack. "Delphox use---"

"STOP!"

"Huh?" Serena said in surprise as Ash walked over to Pikachu and grabbed him gently. "We've battled enough for now. Besides, I got what I wanted." Ash smiled at Serena as he walked over.

Serena sighed before she let out a small smile and looked at Ash. "You knew you were about to lose, that's why you ended it, didn't you?"

"What? No--- I was just..." Ash started but Serena wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him in a loving bear hug. "Thanks." She wispered softly.

"You're welcome." Ash spoke as he wrapped his arms around her middle, returning the hug and not letting go.

They stayed like that for a while before releasing eachother. "Shall we go? It's not that far anymore." Ash said in a soft tone.

"Yeah." Serena smiled, matching his tone. She felt much better now, knowing that everything will be alright.

They continued walking until the battle pyramid came in sight. Brandon was talking with Joshua. They both were standing infront of the large structure.

"Hi Brandon!" Ash called out in an excited tone, causing Brandon and Joshua to turn their heads towards them.

"Hello Ash." Brandon said before he looked at Serena. "Ash, I've told you, you can't take anyone with you."

"Don't worry, I'm only here to see him off." Serena spoke up directly. Brandon nodded, "very well. Do as you please." He said as he turned around and walked inside of the pyramid, followed by Joshua.

Ash turned to Serena. "I guess this is goodbye for a while." He grinned to keep up the mood. "Yeah..." Serena mumbled. The yellow-orange colours of sun reflected into her eyes, making it look like they glinstered.

Ash gave her a warm smile. "Come here." He spoke gently, opening his arms wide.

Serena shook her head a few times as her eyes started to water while she ran into his arms, hugging as tight as she could, resting her head on his shoulder. "I'll miss you..." She spoke in a cracked voice.

"Me too..." Ash said as he moved his head back to face her. "That's why I've got you a gift." He added, taking out a small something from his pocket.

"Here." Ash said, revealing the inside of his palm. There was a small wooden Pikachu but something was different. There was a small engraving on it. A heart with the letters A and S. "Ash... where did you get this?" Serena said in surprise.

"On the towns festival. I wanted to give you something special and this looked perfect to me." Ash explained. "Oh Ash..." Serena wimpered before tightening her arms around him and leaning in for a loving and passionate kiss which Ash happily returned. The kiss felt like time stopped and that they were kissing for hours.

As soon as they broke the kiss, Ash looked lovingly at her, holding her close. "I'll see you soon." He said in a sweet voice.

Serena nodded, accepting it. "Good luck." She spoke sweetly.

"Thanks. Oh and keep that hat on, it fits you" Ash smiled, causing her to smile aswell. He hugged her once more. After breaking the hug, Ash wispered, "you were right, i didn't want to lose." Serena giggled as Ash turned around and walked into the entrance of the pyramid where he stopped in his tracks to turn his head around. He faced Serena for one last time. "Bye, I'll love you..."

"I love you too Ash!" Serena said with watery eyes. "And don't forget to call!" She added.

"Don't worry, same time, everyday!" Ash smiled at her as the doors started to close. "Bye Ash!" Serena shouted once more. Ash waved his hand as the vision of him became smaller and smaller until the doors completely closed.

The engines turned on as the four corners of the pyramid opened up and the propellers inside of it turned on. Slowly, the large building started to ascent. Serena watched as the gigantic building took into the air before flying away. She kept watching until it was only a small dot into the distance. A single, small tear ran down her face but she smiled. Because next time, she would never leave him again.

(---)

"Follow me Ash." Brandon said as he led Ash through various halls which ended at a door. Brandon opened it, revealing the control room where Joshua was flying the Pyramid.

There was a decent sized sofa over in the corner of the room and Ash noticed there were two people sitting on it which really looked familiar to him.

"Alain? Riley? What are you doing here?" Ash asked in surprise.

"Allow me to explain." Brandon said, walking right beside Ash. "You see Ash. I had to lie a bit to you."

"What!? Why?" Ash asked in shock.

"Let me show you." Brandon said in a serious tone. He walked over to the wall and pressed on it. Then, as he stopped pressing, a small square piece of wall opened, revealing a secret safe. He typed in the code and turned the handle around, opening it up. Then, he grabbed a suitcase out of it.

"I have to correct myself, I partly lied. You will have to battle someone in my place but that isn't the real reason why you're here now." Brandon said as he opened the suitcase, revealing a black rock inside of it.

"Ash, this is the Meteorite. It is believed to have the power to Mega Evolve Rayquaza." Brandon started explaining.

"But what has that to do with me being here?" Ash asked curiously.

"Good question." Brandon started. "I've heard that team Rocket stole the Red Orb from the Lumiose Museum."

"That's right. Serena and I tried to stop them but unfortunately they got away..." Ash said, facing down as everything flashed through his head clearly.

"Hmm. So I've heard." Brandon said, supporting his chin with his hand. "To make matters worse, they also have the blue orb which means they have everything to awaken Groudon and Kyogre and even revert them back to their primal forms."

"What!?" Ash shouted, aswell as Alain and Riley. This information was new to them aswell.

"Yes. Sadly its true. However, our mission is to keep the Meteorite safe at any cost. Steven Stone personally trusted me with this and I'm not gonna let anything happen to it. He also said that if I needed help, I should ask the people I trust with one hundred percent." Brandon said, looking over at Ash.

"Ash, you are the only one who ever defeated me as the current Pyramid King. I know you are ready for this task and considering your past, you've dealt with a lot of situations like this." Brandon said. Ash looked at it and it almost looked like Brandon was begging him to stay.

"Okay... but why for two weeks? That doesn't make much sense." Ash asked.

"That's a good question." Brandon smiled. "And the answer to that is, Steven employed one of Hoenn's top agents to work undercover for team Rocket. He told Steven that they will carry out their mission soon but until they do, we can't do anything."

Ash gritted his teeth. "Team Rocket..." He mumbled in anger.

"Let it go Ash. We can't do much now." Alain said.

"As for why I asked Alain and Riley are here, Alain has proven himself a good help to Steven in the past and remembering how you and Alain managed to take down Lysander, it shows that he is a valuable asset too. As for Riley, you'll find out soon enough." Brandon smirked.

"So that's why Serena couldn't come." Ash mumbled.

"That's right Ash. I want as few people to be involved with this as things could turn ugly and become very dangerous. Knowing you three and your history, I'm willing to bet my whole pyramid that you'll be able to handle yourselves when the time comes." Brandon said.

Ash, Alain and Riley nodded. Brandon nodded too before he turned to Joshua and started discussing other things with him.

Ash then turned to Riley. "Riley! It has been a while, hasn't it? Last time we met was on Iron Island right?"

"Yes Ash, it sure has been a while. That's for helping me to solve the problems there with Team Galactic. You were really a massive help." Riley thanked.

"No sweat, you know I always want to help out when I can." Ash grinned.

"That's right." Riley added with his own smile.

It soon started to get dark and Ash went to the room that was appointed to him. He didn't waste much time before he laid down in bed with Pikachu right beside him, curled up into a ball, sleeping on his pillow.

"I wonder how Serena is doing..." Ash mumbled to himself until he had a light bulb moment. He quickly grabbed his phone and typed in Serena's name. Soon, her picture was on the screen and Ash was dialing her.

(---)

Over in Kalos, in Serena's house.

Serena was just putting a laundry basket down next to the washing machine. Suddenly her phone started vibrating so she took it out of her skirt pocket quickly and as soon as she saw the picture of who was calling, a smile flashed on her face and pressed on the green button, meaning that she was answering the call. She immediately pressed on the camera button so they would be able to see eachothers faces.

"Hey Ash! How is everything going?" Serena asked excitedly, glad to hear the voice of her boyfriend.

"Hey Serena, I'm doing pretty well. Brandon gave us a small tour through the pyramid." Ash said. Serena could see that his face lighted up and that he was laying in bed.

"Us?" Serena asked curiously. "I thought no one was allowed to come?"

"Yeah, it turns out that Alain and someone named Riley, who've I met in Sinnoh are here aswell. Brandon needs their assistance with some archaeological discovery." Ash explained. He didn't want to lie about the real reason he was there but he feared that she might become scared so he decided to keep it silent for now.

The name Riley let off a bell in Serena's head but she couldn't really press the matter on it. So she decided to make a mental note for it and hopefully remember it later.

"Anyway, what are you doing? Do I see the washing machine behind you?" Ash asked smilingly.

"Yeah, I'm helping my mom out with some chores... don't worry though, I'm fine, really." Serena smiled.

"I'm glad to hear that." Ash returned the smile.

"So, have you heard anything of that trainer that will be your challenger?" Serena asked, changing topic.

"Unfortunately not. The only thing I know is that he's strong and pretty much steam rolled his way through the frontier brains." Ash said.

"Hmmm, that sounds impressive." Serena stated. "But don't worry though, I know you're gonna win!" Serena smirked.

"How do you know that?" Ash frowned.

"Because... You're the strongest, greatest, sweetest and the most lovable person I know! " Serena smiled widely as the words of admiration left her mouth. "And besides, you've got Pikachu and Charizard with you. There is no possible way for someone to beat those two." Serena added in a matter of fact tone.

"Hahaha" Ash laughed, scratching the back of his head "I guess you're right." Then, suddenly Lucario walked by in Serena's background. "Hey Lucario! How are you doing buddy?" Ash asked, gaining Lucario's attention.

"Rrah!" Lucario put his paw beside his head in a way of saluting Ash. Ash and Serena laughed at his behaviour. Lucario was ordered by Ash to be by Serena's side and he was going to fulfill his duty to the best of his ability.

"It's good to see you buddy, take care of her for me." Ash smiled. Lucario saluted once more with a smile of his own. Ash was proud to see his fateful pokemon act like that.

"Hey! I can take care of myself you know?" Serena pouted.

"I know." Ash said in a sweet tone. "But with Lucario by your side, I know nobody will do anything to you. Not even Calem if he would return to his old self now I'm gone for a while."

Serena's eyes widened for a moment but then they went back to normal again as she smiled. "I don't think he'll do that. He really seems changed I'm a good way."

"Yeah, I know what you mean. Even though he did a lot of bad things, he still has some good inside of him. Anyway, just making sure that you'll be alright and with Lucario there, it puts my mind on ease.

"Serena! Dinner is ready!" Grace shouted through the house.

"One second Ash." Serena said, holding her index finger up. "Coming mom!" She shouted back before turning back to Ash. "Dinners ready so I've got to go. I love you Ash, and promise me to call again soon! Bye!" Serena said, blowing a kiss to him and waving.

"Alright Serena, love you! Bye!" Ash said, waving back. After that, the call was ended. Ash sighed and put his phone on the charger. "I think it's better I get some rest too buddy." Ash mumbled, looking at his buddy fast asleep.

Ash turned on his side and drifted away to sleep fairly quick.

Right between Slateport City and Sootopolis City, there was a small island, right in the middle. On that island, was a very, very large tower that reached deep into the clouds. It is named Sky Pillar and people believed that is was so high, that if you reached the top, you could touch heaven itself.

On top of the tower though, stood a girl. She had black hair, a black top with red rings around her chest, grey shorts combined with grey sandal like boots, finishing it off with white stocking that reached until her knees. She also wore a white cape with black scales around her neck. The cape resembled a dragons tail and wings.

At her side stood a large blue dragon with sharp, red wings and a white body. It was a large Salamence.

She looked down in the distance, with her hand placed on a crumbled piece of wall next to her as she overlooked the sea. At one side, light was glowing brightly. On the otherside, thunder was striking down fiercely, mixed with heavy rain.

"It looks like the prophecy our ancestors of the Draconid people is starting right here. As the last person of the Draconid people, I need to stop this!" She spoke in a sincere tone.

(---)

A few days passed now as the battle pyramid flew through the airspace of the Hoenn Region. Ash stood on the battlefield inside the large flying building, surrounded by his Unfezant, Charizard, Pikachu, Beldum, Floatzel and Krookodile. It seemed Ash was discussing a few things as they were in the middle of a training session.

"I thought that I might find you here."

Ash turned his head around, like his pokemon to see his old rival standing behind them. "Alain!" Ash smiled as he turned himself around completely to face him.

"Hey Ash." Alain spoke smilingly. "I see you're working hard."

"Yup! I want to make sure all my pokemon are in perfect shape!" Ash smiled proudly.

"Same old Ash..." Alain lowered his had and shook it with a smile on his face. Then, he looked up to Ash and said, "fine then, how about a battle?"

"You're so on!" Ash agreed determinedly.

"I'll be the referee." Riley said, coming out of nowhere. Sure, thanks Riley!" Ash nodded to him.

"Alright Beldum! You're up first!" Ash stated as Beldum floated infront of Ash with the rest of his pokemon standing behind them.

"I've got the perfect match up for this battle." Alain said as he enlarged a pokeball. "Metagross go!"

Meanwhile in Kalos.

Serena was inside her house, preparing to go to school. "It's sure much more quiet around here without Ash..." She said to no one in particular as she brushed her hair.

"Serena! Breakfast is ready!" Grace shouted from downstairs.

"Coming mom!" Serena shouted back as she put down the brush and walked down the stairs. When she entered the kitchen, Grace had already placed a plate on the table that was filled with pancakes.

Serena sat down and conversed with her mom while she was eating. They were talking about various topics. When Grace asked her about Ash, she felt sad for a moment but flashed a smile quickly after, saying that she'd be calling with him tonight.

"I'm going to school mom!" Serena said as she finished breakfast and walked to the front door.

"OK hun, have fun!" Grace replied as Serena left the house and walked outside, opening the fence gate before leaving their houses perimeter.

"Even walking without him feels weird..." Serena mumbled to herself. Suddenly her head shot up, having a light bulb moment. "Hey I know!"

Serena quickly made it across the street and knocked on the door. Delia opened and Serena explained her idea. Delia let her in and Serena immediately walked to the backyard where she asked Bulbasaur to get Dragonite.

In less than a few minutes, Dragonite flew over, hugging her tightly. After Serena urged to release her from the deathly hug, she asked. "Dragonite, could you bring me to school?"

"Burrrr!!" Dragonite nodded happily. "Thank you Dragonite!" Serena thanked gratefully. Serena quickly grabbed Dragonite's pokeball before she mounted her. Soon, Dragonite took off into the sky. Serena used to be a bit scared of heights but thanks to flying with Ash already for a few times, she kinda adapted and got used to it.

It didn't take long before they reached school where Dragonite descended and let Serena climb off it. "Thanks for the ride Dragonite." Serena thanked. Dragonite roared happily before Serena returned it to its pokeball.

"Hi everyone!" Serena smiled excitedly as she approached the group of friends.

"Hey Serena!" Dawn replied quickly, placing her arm around her shoulder as she brought up a toothy grin.

(---)

"Charizard, Flamethrower!" Alain commanded.

"You too Charizard!" Ash countered.

Both orange coloured dragons launched a stream of fire from their mouths at eachother. The score was now one all and the battle between the two Charizards would decide the victor of the battle.

*BOOM*

The moves collided, pushing back and forth but resulting in a draw in the end. Ash smiled, he could feel the excitement coursing through his body and he could feel Charzard's excitement aswell. No matter what, Alain always managed to deliver an amazing battle.

Alain enjoyed the battle too. Never was there any opponent who brought him more joy to battle, other than Ash. The way he interacted with his pokemon, the passion and the power. Not to forget the creativity, Ash always delivered.

"Let's finish this!" Both yelled at the same time.

Right at that moment, the automatic doors opened and Brandon walked in. "Stop the battle!" He exclaimed in all seriousness.

"What? Why?" Ash asked as he relaxed his tensed up body while turning towards Brandon. Charizard snarled as he felt like he was robbed of a victory and felt like Brandon stole his chance to show Alain's Charizard who is the greatest.

"Riley, Alain. We've got some research to do in the ruins near here. Ash I need you to stay here." Brandon stated.

"Right." Alain said as he grabbed his Pokeball. "Charizard return."

"What am I supposed to do then?" Ash asked curiously.

"I told you that you have a challenger right? He'll arrive here in one hour." Brandon said before he left through the automatic doors again. Alain and Riley followed him as Ash sat down on the battlefield, surrounded by all his pokemon.

"Joshua, you've located the cave of Origin?" Brandon asked as he walked into the control room, followed by Alain and Riley.

"Yes sir! Its not that far away from here. I've put all the directions on this tablet. I've also installed a GPS system so if anything happens, we'll be able to find you sir." Joshua explained, handing Brandon a grey coloured tabled with a big protection case around it.

"Good job Joshua." Brandon said before he turned to Alain and Riley. "Let's head out quickly. We might be back on time to see how Ash does as Pyramid King."

"Right." Alain and Riley said as they followed Brandon out of the Battle Pyramid. When they stepped outside, Brandon stopped in his tracks all of a sudden.

"Something wrong Brandon?" Riley asked. Brandon didn't reply as he pointed infront of him. Alain and Riley followed his finger to see a silver haired man in a black suit and a silver ring with a keystone attached to it standing infront of them.

"Steven Stone. The mighty champion of the Hoenn Region. It has been a while since I last saw you." Brandon said in a firm tone.

"You didn't think I'd leave you to have all the fun yourselves right?" Steven joked before he took notice of Alain and Riley. "I see you have two guests? Are they here for you know what?"

"Yes Steven. I've told them about the Meteorite and that it's in my possession right now." Brandon said. "And there is also one more here. But he took a bit more time to be convinced."

"I see. So I guess he will be defending your title as Pyramid King?" Steven asked.

"Right. As the only one who ever beat the battle frontier, I think he's worthy enough to do just that." Brandon said in a tone that almost sounded like he was proud of him.

"Ah interesting. So Ash is the final member of the team. It's quite a figure you've got to present you. After all, Ash is the Alolan Champion." Steven said. He was aware of Ash's talent and that he beat the battle frontier after his journey through Hoenn.

"What!?" Riley said in surprise.

"Yes. He is the first and current champion of Alola. I followed his actions after the battle frontier. He's a more than capable asset to our cause." Brandon said. "Now Mr. Stone, are you joining us on our trip to the cave of Origin?" Brandon raised his eyebrow.

"Unfortunately not." Steven said in an apologising manner. "I do like the idea of exploring it but the real reason I'm here is that my nephew will be battling the Pyramid King."

"So it is your nephew who seemed to have beaten all the frontier brains?" Brandon asked to which Steven nodded. "And who might he be?"

"That's me!" A boy walked from behind Steven with a wide grin on his face. He had brown hair, a white with black cap that had a half circle on it. He wore an orange and black jacket, black shorts with grey lines on it and he wore white and green shoes.

"My name's Brendan and I'm from Little Root town." He introduced himself.

"Hello Brendan." Said Brandon, the Pyramid King. "I see that you're the challenger. Very well, but you will be battling someone else instead of me. Go ahead, he's inside." Brandon mentioned before he, Alain and Riley excused themselves and went to the cave of Origin. Steven and Brendan walked inside the large flying Pyramid, making their way to the battlefield.

(---)

Ash stood in the middle of the battlefield, surrounded by his Pokemon as he explained them a few things about the battle.

Suddenly, the automatic doors opened, grabbing Ash's attention. "Steven!" Ash shouted in excitement upon seeing the Hoenn champion.

"Hello Ash. It has been a while, how are you?" Steven asked with a bit smile.

"I'm doing fine, thanks! I'm waiting here for a challenger that is supposed to be here any moment. But besides that, how are---" Ash said in a respectful manner before he stopped in his tracks. His eyes dilated upon realisation as he pointed his finger to Steven. "Wait... are you...?"

Steven chuckled softly and shook his head. "No Ash, I'm not the challenger. He is." Steven said, gesturing next to him.

"Hi Ash, my name is Brendan!" Brandon said excitedly with a large grin on his face.

"Nice to meet you Brendan! As you already seem to know, I'm Ash Ketchum. The temporary Pyramid King and your opponent today." Ash introduced yourself.

"I only heard your name earlier since Steven mentioned it. But it's nice to meet you too!" Brendan smiled. Then, his face expression turned into a confident smirk. "Are you ready to get things started?"

"Sure!" Ash smirked back. "Let's get the show on the road!"

"Hold on Ash, do you have a referee?" Steven asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Yeah, Joshua will assist me during my time as Pyramid King. He should be here right... now!" Ash said and just as the words left his louth, Joshua entered through the automatic doors.

"Hello Steven, Brendan. We've been expecting you." Joshua flashed a smile.

"Uhh..." Brendan started. "What are the rules actually? Like every frontier brain had different rules." Brendan asked, giving Ash a questioning look. Ash turned to Joshua with the same look.

"It's all up to you Ash. You decide the terms." Joshua said.

"Really!?" Ash asked with sparkles in his eyes. "In that case, let's do it the same as when I won against Brand9n. A four on four with only the challenger allowed to substitute pokemon!" Ash grinned confidently.

"Wait? You've beaten Brandon the Pyramid King?" Brandon asked.

"Yeah! It was a really though challenge but my pokemon and I ultimately managed to win, working as a team." Ash smiled, remembering how things went.

"Awesome..." Brendan stated, clearly impressed.

"But enough talk about me. I've heard that you're quite the trainer. So why don't we get things started?" Ash asked, walking over to his trainers box.

"Thought you'd never ask!" Brendan smirked as he walked to his own.

"Choose your pokemon!" Joshua exclaimed as Steven sat down in the stands. Observing the upcoming battle.

"This pokemon gave every frontier brain a run for their money! Flygon go!" Brendan yelled as he threw the pokeball forward. It opened up and a Pokémon that resembled a slightly insectoid, bipedal dragon. It was primarily light green and had a pair of large rhombus-shaped wings with red trim, toeless hind legs, and skinny arms with three-clawed hands. It's tail has several dark green stripes and three small green rhombus shapes with red trims at the end. It had large eyes and a pair of green antennae that point back. Its eyes have red covers that prevent sand from getting into it.

Ash took out his rotom phone and scanned it.

Flygon, the Mystic Pokémon. A Ground and Dragon type. Flygon has been called "the Desert Spirit." With its powerful wings, it creates sandstorms to hide in.

"Interesting. We've got to be careful of that Sandstorm. But we can also use it to our advantage!" Ash said to no one in particular before he grabbed a pokeball and threw it. "Krookodile, I choose you!" Ash yelled.

As soon as Ash threw the pokeball, Krookodile appeared infront of him. Krookodile used its claws to put its sunglasses just right before he roared loudly and stared viciously at Flygon.

"Battle begin!" Joshua announced.

"Flygon, use Sandstorm!" Brendan called out immediately, using the strategy that always helped him. Without missing a beat, Flygon started flapping it's wings as a powerful gust of sand started swirling around the battlefield, engulfing everything inside it.

"Thanks Brendan! This will help out me and Krookodile perfectly!" Ash grinned. Brandon gave him a confused look as Ash explained himself. "With Krookodile's amazing eyesight, the Sandstorm won't do a thing to it!"

"I should've known that..." Brendan sweatdropped. "Alright Flygon, let's use Dragon Claw!" Flygon's claw started to glow in a green aura as it charged through the Sandstorm at Krookodile.

"Counter it with your own! And follow up with Crunch!" Ash ordered Krookodile. "Krookoo!" Krookodile roared as his claw also turned green while he sped off through the flying sand tornado.

The two pokemon clashed head on, locking their claws into eachothers. Knowing Flygon had nowhere to run, Krookodile smirked as it opened its mouth wide.

"Quick, use Headbutt!" Brendan said, trying to stop Krookodile from getting a powerful hit off.

Flygon immediately launched its head forward, striking Krookodile's mouth with much power, causing it to flinch and release itself from the handbook they were in. Krookodile shook its head before it faced Flygon again, glaring.

He's good. No wonder he managed to take down all the frontier brains. But that won't happen to me! Ash thought to himself. "Krookodile, Aerial Ace!"

"Krookoo!!" Krookodile roared as he widened his arms and suddenly dissapeared before reappearing right above Flygon. He went right past it, damaging it in the process. Flygon cried in pain as it slammed into the ground by the force of Krookodile's attack.

"Flygon! Are you okay!?" Brendan yelled in concern.

"Krookodile, let's give them some more! Use Brutal Swing!" Ash commanded, keeping up the pressure. Krookodile quickly grabbed Flygon's arm and swung him around before slamming him brutally into the ground, only leaving it in a cloud of dust.

"Flygon! Get up and use Dragon Breath!" Brendan commanded in confidence that Flygon was still able to battle. Suddenly, a purple, white beam of energy blasted through the cloud and struck Krookodile who roared in pain, into the chest.

"Krookodile!" Ash worried. But soon, Krookodile stood back on his feet as Ash sighed in relief. "Let's try Aerial Ace once more!" Ash commanded.

"That trick won't work twice! Flygon use Flamethrower to stop it!" Brendan commanded. Flygon immediately followed the command and inhalen deeply before releasing a powerful stream of fire towards Krookodile.

As the flames closed in quickly, Ash smirked as Krookodile, just before the flames consumed it, dissapeared in thin air. "Now, Dragon Claw!" Ash yelled on top of his lungs. Krookodile reappeared right infront of Flygon with its claw engulfed in green. It then slashed its claw across Flygon's chest who itself roared in pain before slamming into the ground, only to be covered in a cloud of dust.

"Flygon!" Brendan yelled in concern. He sweated as never had Flygon, one of his strongest pokemon be handled like that. The cloud slowly dispersed, revealing what was inevitable. Flygon was down and out with swirly eyes.

Brendan sighed as he pulled out his pokeball and recalled Flygon. "Thanks for your hard work buddy. I'll make sure that it won't be in vain." Brendan spoke with sympathy before he put it away and took out his next. "Go Gallade!"

"Gah-lade--!" Gallade exclaimed crossing its sword like arms infront of his chest as he took battle stance.

"Let's get them Krookodile!" Ash yelled excitedly. "Krookodile---!" Krookodile agreed, ready for battle.

Meanwhile in Kalos.

"So Dawn, why did professor Sycamore set up another assembly?" Serena asked curiously.

"Have you forgotten already? He does that every time the holidays." Dawn replied, raising her eyebrow.

"Right..." Serena sweatdropped. "I kinda forgot..." Dawn giggled lightly as they sat down next to Gary and Shauna, in the large hall that was filled with chairs.

At that moment, professor Sycamore walked onto the stage and stood still infront of the microphone. "Hello everyone." He started, getting everyone's attention as everything turned silent.

"As all of you know, were going into our last semester before the summer break. Some of you, will also graduating so to some of you we will say our goodbyes and wish you the best in your futures." He started as everyone listened attentively.

"But all of that will come later. First, I want to show you a small documentary about pokemon, Mega Evolution to be exact." He said as a TV screen that was attached with a beam to the ceiling, lowered behind him.
Everyone watched carefully as the documentary started playing.

(---)

A large helicopter flew high in the sky. It was bright and sunny at its side as it was flying towards a massive storm in the distance. In the helicopter sat a man in a black suit with a red R on his chest and a Persian beside him. Next to them sat two people and a Meowth.

"Jessie, James and Meowth! You all know what to do as soon as it reveals itself?" Giovanni asked, introducing him as the man in the black suit, the boss of Team Rocket.

"Yes Sir!" All three of them saluted him. "We've got multiple lasers set up at different locations which can be controlled at once with this remote." Meowth informed, showing the remote with a red button in his paw as he gave it over to Giovanni.

"Very well." Giovanny replied as he looked out of the window with a devilish smirk on his face, watching as below him, Groudon and Kyogre were closing in rapidly and were now inside of eachother's eyesight. "Soon, you will all be in my possession and then, no one can stop me." Giovanni mumbled as his eyes widened and his pupils dilated while he let out a devilish laugh.

(---)

*BOOM*

Both Floatzel and Metagross fell down on the ground with swirly eyes.

"Both Floatzel and Metagross are unable to battle! This means that both trainers have only one pokemon left!" Joshua called out as Ash and Brendan returned their pokemon.

"I've got to say Ash. You're very strong! But if you're really a champion like my uncle Steven, show me some real power then!" Brendan taunted. Till now, his Metagross, Gallade and Flygon were down. But Brandon was confident. He had his ace left. A pokemon that would always cover him when needed and to say that it was almost invincible would be an understatement. "Let's win this! Let's go Sceptile, I choose you!" Brendan yelled on top of his lungs, releasing his final pokemon.

"Scep---TILE!" Sceptile roared powerfully as it took battlestance infront of Brendan.

"Thanks Floatzel, you were amazing, as always." Ash said putting back his pokeball. He chuckled at the comments that came from Brendan. To taunt back looked to him the best solution to show his confidence he had in his pokemon. Krookodile, Beldum and Unfezant battled amazing so far and he was sure to let it all out in this last choice.

Ash turned to face Steven instead of Brendan. "Watch out Steven! The Pokémon I'm bringing out now is not only gonna win this battle, it is also gonna take you down and get me your title!" Ash shouted. Steven raised his eyebrow with interest, quite eager to see what Ash had in store for them. Brendan also looked on curiously. Steven was still much stronger than him but he was proud of what he had accomplished so far and he thought he had a good shot of taking Ash down.

"Go buddy! Lets win this!" Ash yelled as he threw the pokeball up high into the air, not showing what came out of it as only a light flash appeared.

"Did you just throw an empty pokeball?" Brendan sweatdropped, seeing nothing in the air.

Ash chuckled and pointed up. "Look, it's up there!" Ash laughed. Brendan looked once more, even Steven and Joshua looked up but didn't spot anything out of the ordinary. "You sure? I don't see anything?" Brendan said, not lowering his eyes.

"That's because it's right here infront of me." Ash laughed lightly, smirking as powerful confidence surrounded his appearance. Everyone looked towards Ash and gasped as a large orange monstrosity stood infront of him, roaring as loud and powerful as it could, matching its trainers confidence.

"Is that actually a Charizard?" Brendan sweated, gritting his teeth as Charizard snarled before glaring down at Sceptile who felt pretty nervous facing it. Even Steven felt some nerves by the powerful appearance of Charizard.

But what feared Brendan the most was the small shining stone in the special necklace that was around Charizard's neck.

"No. Its not just a Charizard. What you're looking at is a product of hard work and love, along with the special training it did at the Charicific Valley. I can proudly say that you're facing the strongest Charizard that exists!" Ash narrowed his eyes, facing Brendan. "Now, you wanted me to show my true power? Charizard, let's do it! Mega Evolve!" Ash roared, grabbing his own necklace from under his shirt and opening the pendance, revealing his own Keystone as he pressed it.

Charizard nodded to Ash as blinding lights from Ash's keystone and Charizard's mega stone appeared and merged with one another. As soon as the lights died down, a new pokemon stood infront of Ash, Mega Charizard Y, roaring even louder. So loud, the whole pyramid started to shake due to its incredible power.

(---)

Alain, Riley and Brandon walked through the cave that lead to the large lake where people believed Kyogre would be resting. Brandon walked infront of Riley and Alain, leading them the way down. He used his flashlight to help them see through the thick darkness around them.

Suddenly the ground started shaking violently. The three of them tried to steady their grip and holding the walls in order not to fall.

"What was that!?" Riley exclaimed, uncertain if it was safe to continue.

"I don't know, but we better be more careful from here on. Brandon said, being a bit shaken himself aswell.

Alain nodded. He wasn't sure what it exacly was but he had an idea. An idea that Ash might have to do something with it.

(---)

Brendan tried to compose himself as he was facing his biggest challenge yet. This pokemon looked strong beyond imagination and he knew that with his type advantage, he had to bring more than his A game.

Then, he pressed on the keystone that was inside his wrist bracelet. "Sceptile, Mega Evolve!" He yelled as the Mega Evolution transformation started with Sceptile aswell. As soon as the lights died down, a mega evolved Sceptile stood infront of Brendan, hissing with venom towards Charizard who let out a low grunt.

"Battle begin!" Joshua announced.

"Okay Sceptile, if we want to have a chance on winning, let's use that drought to our advantage and start with Solar Beam!" Brendan commanded, taking the first move.

"Charizard counter with Flamethrower!" Ash commanded quickly.

As Sceptile gathered sunlight on the yellow seed bulbs on his back, Charizard pulled its head back with its long neck before throwing it forward and released a massive, boosted by drought, streak of flames that was ready to consume everything in its way. Sceptile pulled its head back aswell and released a beam of white energy towards the incoming stream of flames.

*BOOM*

Smoke filled the battlefield as Sceptile and Brendan look on. Then, through the smoke, two white glowing eyes appeared and as soon as the smoke started to settle, Charizard stood in the middle of it, smirking as if nothing happened. Brendan gritted his teeth in frustration as he made his next call. "Let's use speed to our advantage, use Dragon Claw!"

"Scep----TILE!" Sceptile cried out as its claws surrounded itself in green before it charged straight for Charizard.

Ash pointed up into the air with loads of confidence, knowing he was controlling the battle. "Charizard, up!"

"Charrrr---!" Charizard growled as he gave one mighty flap and took to the air.

"You can't dodge us that easily! Sceptile jump too!" Brendan ordered as Sceptile leaped up and charged straight at Charizard.

"Good." Ash smirked. "Charizard, dodge and grab it!" He commanded. Sceptile stretched his arm out, trying to strike Charizard in the face who narrowly moved his head out of the way, just in time. Then, it grabbed Sceptile under the armpits, giving it no opportunity to escape.

Brendan gasped as Ash gave the one command he didn't want to hear. "Seismic Toss!"

Charizard roared loudly as it flew up even higher and started circling around, creating an imaginary earth in the middle.

Suddenly, Brendan had a lightbulb moment. "Sceptile! Listen to my voice. You can't use your arms, feet or tail but what you can use is your head. So use Bullet Seed!"

Sceptile grinned in realisation as it opened it's mouth and started firing yellow bullet like seeds, hitting Charizard neck who itself, started growling in annoyance and pain.

"Come on Charizard! That not even close to damaging you! Show me some character!" Ash encouraged.

Charizard's eyes opened up wide as it roared loudly, making the pyramid shake once more. Sceptile stopped using Bullet Seed as it flinched in fear.

Charizard finished circling around and started to dive straight towards the ground. He grabbed Sceptile's arm and swung it down at the last second, with full force.

"Sceptile!" Brendan yelled in concern as he saw Sceptile crash into the ground, surrounded by a massive cloud of smoke that covered Sceptile from anyone to see.

Ash however knew, by observing Brandon's Sceptile that this battle was far from over. He thought of finishing it now in one powerful blow but decided its best to let Charizard take a breather and let things play out as it would.

The smoke dispersed and Sceptile slowly scrambled back up on its feet, glaring at Charizard as it was covered in injury marks but not even close to letting it bother him as it faced Charizard with more determination than ever. Sceptile wanted to take down this monstrosity. Sceptile was a pokemon with pride and taking down Ash's Charizard would mean that it had beaten a champions ace. No, there was no way that Sceptile would give up.

"Let's get on the attack Charizard! Use Slash combined with Dragon Claw!" Ash called out. Brendan's eyes widened at hearing it, even Steven frowned as it was unheard of being able to call out two moves at the same time.

"Charrrr---!" Charizard roared loudly as his left claw extended and glowed brightly as his right turned green before it flew straight for Sceptile.

"Sceptile counter with Frenzy Plant, quick!" Brendan panicked. Sceptile snarled as it punched its fists into the ground and giant roots started to emerge and went straight for Charizard.

"Charizard, spin!" Ash called out as Charizard obeyed as it started spinning like Ash used to do with his Turtwig and Pikachu against that loose Aerodactyl in Oreburg City, right before his gym battle against Roark.

The roots closed in rapidly and started to try and hit Charizard but due it's spinning and his glowing claws, the roots ripped apart before it could even come close. Brendan saw this and sweated. He had to come up with something but Ash seemed to counter everything he threw at him.

Then, his eyes widened. "That's it! Let's use this Frenzy Plant to our advantage, Sceptile use Bullet Seed while it's still distracted!" Brendan yelled.

Sceptile quickly opened its mouth and fired yellow bullet like seeds towards Charizard, aiming it straight for the head. They made contact, causing Charizard's momentum to be disrupted. Then, a large root struck Charizard right into his stomach. His eyes widened and his pupils dilated as he came to a stop and crashed into the ground.

"Charizard!" Ash yelled in concern. Luckily for Ash though, Charizard was back up on its feet quickly and let out a loud roar, indicating that this was far from over. Ash breathed a sigh of relief as he wiped the sweat of his forehead. "You're really something else Brendan!" Ash complimented.

"Thanks! But I'm gonna finish this now Ash! Sceptile, Dragon Pulse!" Brendan yelled on top of his lungs, pumping his fist into the air.

"Charizard, counter with Flamethrower and don't hold back!" Ash countered quickly.

Both pokemon charged their attacks, taking more time to make it stronger and stronger. Then, as both of them were ready, they released their respective attacks towards eachother.

*BOOM*

A massive explosion occurred as a gigantic cloud of thick black smoke covered the field. But Ash wasn't done yet. He felt the heat of the battle coarse through his veins. Then it happened. He closed his eyes and opened them again, looking right through Charizard's eyes. "Charizard, let's finish this with maximum power! Blast Burn!!!"

Charizard knew exacly where Sceptile was as he became engulfed in light orange flames. Then, Charizard punched the ground, sending a wave of energy into the earth which then moved underneath Sceptile. The energy then bursted upwards in a giant explosion of red-orange flames. Brandon looked in horror as Sceptile's screams of agony could be heard throughout the complete pyramid. Joshua felt shivers down his spine, hearing Sceptile's pain.

Explosions could be heard and filled the whole structure, covering everything. It seemed like hours as it didn't disperse by itself. Joshua opened the roof windows, almost at the top of the Pyramid in order to let the smoke escape.

Then, finally the smoke faded, revealing the undeniable result. Sceptile laid on the ground with swirly eyes in its original form with Charizard Y snarling as it towered proudly over it, firing flames into the air as it celebrated another victory by spewing a streak of flames into the air.

"Sceptile is unable to battle as Brendan ran out of usable pokemon. This means that the defender of the Battle Pyramid, Ash Ketchum is the winner!" Joshua called out.

Brendan sighed in defeat as he pulled out Sceptile's pokeball and returned it. 'Thanks Sceptile, you were amazing." He said as he put the pokeball away.

He looked over at Ash and Charizard who just reverted back as Ash had his palm on its lower jaw, praising him for his efforts.

Ash turned to look at Brendan with a small grin on his face as Steven joined Brandon as they walked over to Ash.

"Great battle Brendan!" Ash smiled as they stopped near him and Charizard.

"Thanks Ash. But I can see why you're the Alolan Champion. I must say, that Charizard of yours is impressively strong." Brendan commented, looking over at Charizard.

"Haha thanks!" Ash thanked, rubbing under his nose. "But to be honest with you, it's all on Charizard. Thanks to his hard work, we are able to battle at this level. And ever since Charizard and I reunited during my time in Unova, he's been pretty much unbeatable and currently my star fighter." Ash said, glancing over at Charizard as he petted his belly.

"I don't really agree with that." Steven joined in the conversation. Ash looked at him curiously, raising an eyebrow. "Sure, it might have done some serious and rigorous training in the Charicific Valley but I also believe that the bond between trainer and pokemon is equally important." Steven continued.

"Look at you and your Greninja for example. That evolution thing you've got going in with it, it's called the bond phenomenon right?" Steven asked to which Ash nodded. "Right, so I've learned that you really need a powerful bond in order to pull that off, which you're the only person in the world currently who has achieved that. Together, trainer and pokemon, as long as they are on one wave length, they can achieve so much more and can almost manage in every possible situation. That's why believing in eachother is such an important thing as well as treat your pokemon right for a pokemon trainer." Steven said in a passionate voice as all he said, felt like it came from the hard.

"That's what Steven taught me aswell!" Brendan grinned widely. Steven smiled at his nephew as he placed his hand on Brendan's shoulder. "To see you battling so well against a regional champion shows that you've grown a lot as a trainer over the time you picked that Treecko up at my facility."

Brendan smiled widely at hearing Steven's kind words. Ash then had a saddened look on his face. "Hey Brendan? I'm sorry you didn't win your Brave Symbol."

"What? Are you kidding?" Brendan said with a shocked expression. "Battling you instead of Brandon, the Pyramid King is way cooler! Sure Brandon is amazing but battling a regional champion? I'd take that all day! Besides, I'll rechallenge the Battle Pyramid another time when I've done more training with my pokemon and when we're stronger!" Brendan formed a fist infront of his chest determinedly.

Suddenly, Pikachu perked up while Ash's eyes twitched. "What's that?" He asked in all seriousness, steadying his feet on the ground as he moved his head sideways to listen better.

Silent raindrops could be heard but as soon as it started, it started to rain harder and harder. It started thundering and it wasn't anything like normal. It was going on continuously as lightning bolts flashed through the skies.

"What's going on!?" Ash shouted, trying to hold himself steady on his feet.

Suddenly, the doors busted open and a drenched Brandon stormed inside, followed by Alain and Riley who shared the same fate.

"This is bad!" Brandon yelled in concern.

------------------------------------

"This is bad!" Brandon yelled in a shockingly concerning voice. Ash was confused to say the least. He knew Brandon was a man who was always calm and collected, no matter the circumstances. Even when he was possessed by that evil spirit, Brandon stayed calm and figured out a way to help. But now, now he seemed completely stressed.

"What's bad? What's going on?" Ash asked in concern.

"Its---!" Brandon spoke but then he got interrupted as the ground started shaking violently. Everyone had to hold themselves and dig their feet into the ground in order to stay on their feet.

As the shaking stopped, Ash shouted, "what was that!?"

"I'll explain everything." Brandon said before taking a deep breath. Then, he faced Ash, Steven, Brandon and Joshua. "Joshua, as you know we were exploring the Cave of Origins." He started, looking Joshua straight into the eyes who nodded himself. "We walked into the cave when it happened.

(-Flashback-)

"Where do you think it is?" Alain asked as they followed a small trail that descended further into the cave.

"According to all our Intel and research, it should be right down this way." Brandon said, holding the flashlight as they passed several Zubat, Woobat, Swoobat and even some Golbat.

They continued walking until Brandoj stopped in his tracks. "What is it?" Riley asked in a low voice. Brandon held up his arm while his hand stayed in a fist, telling them to wait and stay silent.

"Hurry up guys! Everything needs to be packed up ASAP! Kyogre is out there and we can't miss the big show!" A heavy voice spoke, coming from a bulky man with an eyepatch on.

"Relax Gozu. I see that Proton and Petrel freed Groudon aswell and that it's coming to meet Kyogre. It will be happening close by so you will be able to see everything once get outside." The other voice said. It seemed more more delicate compared to the hoarse voice which belonged to Gozu.

Brandon carefully peaked around the corner, making sure not to get discovered. Then, his eyes widened as he pulled back behind the wall.

"What is it!?" Alain wispered loudly.

"This is bad. Team Rocket is down here and we need to warn the others immediately. I've got a pretty good idea of what's coming next..." Brandon stated as he started walking in a fast paced manner, towards the exit of the cave.

(-Flashback ends-)

"What!?" Ash uttered in pure shock. Brandon and even Steven had a horrified look on his face. Steven looked at Alain. "This is the same thing that happened a few years ago, remember?"

"Yes." Alain replied as anger filled his eyes. "When we helped Lysandre receive the Mega Evolution energy from Rayquaza."

Everyone gasped at hearing what Alain said, except for Steven. He wasn't proud of what happened back then but in their defense, they never knew what Lysandre was up to.

"We can't sit still now and think of the past! We need to stop then, now!" Ash said in all seriousness. Pikachu and Charizard agreed with Ash, knowing that he was right but they still had to come up with a plan.

"You're right." Steven said as he started thinking of something. "Brandon, do you have more information? Is there anything more you can tell us?" He asked, looking over at the Pyramid King himself.

"No." Brandon said in a little bit annoyed tone. He wanted go resolve thus problem but the fact was that they were no match against the two legendaries.

Suddenly a loud crash could be heard from outside. Everyone turned their heads towards the door, readying themselves for anything that could show up.

"I know how to fix this." Spoke a voice as a large Salamence walked inside the pyramid, followed by a girl.

"Who are you? And what is your business here?" Brandon said in a stern voice.

"I am Zinnia and I am the last of what they call the Draconid People." She said, stopping in her tracks as she stood beside Salamence.

Steven's eyes widened. "The draconid People!? I thought it was a myth, a legend!"

"What are the Draconid people?" Ash asked in curiosity.

"Ash." Brandon spoke to him. "The Draconid People are a group or ancient humans who are to be believed as the only humans ever recorded to be able to control the power of Rayquaza."

"Wait!" Ash said with widened eyes. "So that means that you can control Rayquaza!?"

"It's not that simple unfortunately." Zinnia said, shrugging her shoulders. "I have to summon Rayquaza with some sort of ritual which I can't perform by myself. I need someone else to assist me." Zinnia said.

"Why don't we help?" Brendan said. "Brandon here is the Pyramid King, aswell as one of the biggest explorers in the world and knows a lot about ancient things, with my help aswell, we might be able to pull it off." He suggested.

"That could work..." Zinnia said before she faced Brandon. "What do you say?"

"It's fine with me as long as we can stop those two." He spoke, closing his eyes and crossing his arms.

"But, while we do that, we need to have time. If Groudon or Kyogre notice anyone climbing on top of Sky Pillar, they will attack relentlessly." Zinnia spoke in worry.

"That's where we come in!" Ash grinned, looking over at Steven, Alain, Riley, Pikachu and Charizard.

"Ash, I don't know if you noticed, but last time, Steven and I didn't stand a chance against even one of those two. There is no way we can defeat them." Alain said in all seriousness.

"That's the thing. We don't need to defeat them." Ash said before he continued. "Besides, now Riley and I are here aswell. Together, we might be able to put in some resistance." He smirked.

"Its reckless but it could work. Be careful." Brandon said. "You have no idea how strong they are in their primal forms."

"It sure is reckless but they have no idea what they have coming at them." Ash grinned, ready to face the biggest threat he has faced so far.

Alright everyone, as last thing that I want to tell you about the last semester is---" Sycamore said as held a stick infront of a TV screen with lots of information on it. But suddenly, he got interrupted as the TV suddenly switched to another channel with a news reporter on it.

"Breaking!" The voice of the female reporter said as images behind her were playing. "The Legendary pokemon Groudon and Kyogre awakened from their slumber and are now fighting eachother!" She said as footage played of Groudon slamming the water with his arm, shooting up rocky, magma pillars straight towards Kyogre who itself fired off multiple beams of high concentrated water towards Groudon.

"We have no idea what could have caused this. Right now, there is no way of stopping this!" She spoke in fear. But suddenly a blue and orange Flamethrower, combined with a blue ball of Aura and a Thunderbolt flew straight at the point where Groudon and Kyogre's attacks connected, exploding on impact.

"Wait! What was that!?" The newsreporter said as the camera angle changed to see two mega evolved Charizards, an orange and a black and blue one, followed by a Braviary flew on high speed towards the two legendary pokemon. As they were flying on a low altitude, water shot up into the air behind them, due to the high speed.

"It seems that some trainers are trying to fight them!?" The news reporter spoke in surprise as the camera's closed in on them, showing the trainers faces.

Everyone gasped as Serena yelled in horror. "Ash!?"

Lucario looked on aswell, seeing Ash and Pikachu on top of Charizard as they fired off another attack. They saw that Ash was joined by two others, Alain and someone else who nobody knew, except for Dawn and Brock who had a vague idea who he was but weren't sure of it.

(---)

"That's it guys! Keep it up!" Ash encouraged as Charizard released another streak of flames from its mouth and fired it straight at Groudon.

Suddenly, Groudon faced them and opened its mouth, releasing a white coloured beam, Solar Beam.

"Pikachu, quick use Thunderbolt!" "Charizard Flamethrower!" "Lucario Aura Spere and Braviary, Air Slash!" Ash, Riley and Alain commanded in order to block Groudon's attack.

The attacks merged together with the original Flamethrower Ash's Charizard used and hit the incoming Solar Beam. The moves collided, pushed eachother for a while but eventually exploded.

Steven, Ash, Alain and Riley split up as Ash's Charizard flew right past Groudon on their way to take on Kyogre. They knew that their best way to take them on was longe range attacks and due to Pikachu having no effect on Ground types like Groudon, Ash decided to go straight for Kyogre, along with Riley while Steven and Alain went for Groudon.

"Alright guys! We need to combine our power to have a shot at taking Kyogre down!" Ash said to Pikachu and Charizard who let out their signature cries out in agreement. "Pikachu use Thunderbolt and Charizard let's try out a new move, use Solar Beam!"

Pikachu leaped up as it didn't want to shock Ash and Charizard while it engulfed itself in electricity before releasing a powerful bolt towards Kyogre. Charizard, due to the ability Drought that it and Groudon possesses, was able to immediately fire a whitish beam of energy from its mouth, straight at Kyogre.

*BOOM*

(---)

Zinnia, Brendan and Brandon were climbing the many stairs of the large tower called Sky Pillar.

"Have you heard of the old legend about my people and Rayquaza?" Zinnia asked all of a sudden.

"Honestly, I have no clue." Brendan Said. Zinnia looked over at Brandon. Brandon frowned as he spoke. "I do know a little bit about it." He spoke.

"Fine." Zinnia said. "Let me tell you the tale of the first ever Mega Evolution." Zinnia smiled as she pointed towards a wall with large paintings on it. "Look over there. The paintings you see past down centuries by my ancestors, the Draconids."

"Last millennia, a huge meteoroid impacted on the surface of the planet. The land cracked." Zinnia said as she pressed on the keystone in her right boot. A holographic image appeared as if they were reliving the moment.

A massive, fiery meteorite entered from space and crashed into the earth, creating a massive explosion. When it was over, a massive crater revealed itself from the smoke. From the crater appeared 7 colours of energy. The colours were yellow, orange, red, pink, purple, blue and green.

"Natural energy poured out from deep beneath Hoenn. Thirsting for that bounty of power, two legendary pokemon, Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon fought in a series of endless and furious clashes!"

Brandon and Brendan looked behind them as a massive Primal Groudon stood behind them and from the otherside came a massive Primal Kyogre, going straight through them and crashing into Groudon. Both Brandon's gasped but as Kyogre went through them, they realised it wasn't real, it was a hologram.

Just then, Groudon took a grip of Kyogre and threw it into the air. Kyogre took a deep breath before multiple beams of water shot back at Groudon, firing its Origin Pulse.

Groudon roared loudly as it slammed the ground explosively. Huge rocky, lava like pillars shot up infront of it, aiming straight for the incoming Origin Pulse, using its own special move Precipice Blades. The moves exploded on impact as Zinnia continued the legendary tale.

"My people could only watch as disaster upon disaster swept over them." Zinnia spoke as she took another step, slowly making her way to the top. "So... They made a wish for salvation. That Rayquaza, the legendary pokemon would appear, clad in emerald light."

"This wish was able to bring people and pokemon together, enabling the Legendary pokemon to completely change its appearance!" Zinnia said as she widened her arms an a paining engulfed itself in green.

Rayquaza appeared in its different form and charged right through Zinnia, revealing itself to be a hologram aswell. Zinnia laughed. "Sounds like the first ever recorded Mega Evolution, doesn't it?"

Brandon and Brendan nodded. The holographic Rayquaza came between Groudon and Kyogre, flying high above them as Zinnia continued.

"Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre vanished back into the depths of the land and the sea. And finally, peace returned to the world."

Zinnia looked up to the top. "My people constructed this tower in order to honour Rayquaza but also to protect the rainbow stone that granted Rayquaza its power." Zinnia closed her eyes and smiled as she opened them and looked at the four Keystones in her hand.

"If we have a chance on stopping Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre, this might be our only shot." She said before picking up her pace and making her way to the top of the tower.

Soon, as Zinnia faced the large set of steps, she continued. "But they foretold that a much greater thread would face our world, one that could utterly destroy it."

"I've been thinking. Me, someone with the power and knowledge on how I could protect the people from this disaster. And now, now it's time to finally fulfill my destiny!" Zinnia yelled as she took the last step and stood infront of a large triangular shape.

"And that brings us to the end of the tale. Welcome to the Dragonhark Altar." Zinnia smiled, looking at the massive altar where they were standing on. Both Brandon and Brendan looked around in awe, a place of which they didn't know much about and the place that had been said that it was a legend and only a story for years. But now they were here, they could say that it wasn't, it was true. Everything that happened in the past, this place confirmed everything.

"Each of us needs to stand in one corner." Zinnia ordered. Both Brandon and Brendan listened and walked over to a side. Zinnia walked to the middle and placed her four Keystones there. After that, she walked over to last corner, the one right infront of the set of stairs.

"Everyone, grab you keystone." She instructed as she grabbed her own and held it firmly. Brendan d id the same and was quite surprised when Brandon took one out aswell. But he didn't have time to ask as now was the time to save the world.

All of them held the Keystone up high and the green lighted torches on the three corners started to shine brighter while Zinnia started the ritual to summon Rayquaza. She started chanting, "With Jewel bright and borrowed might! Help us in the deepest darkness and save our world yet again. I summon you Rayquaza!" She yelled on top of her lungs.

Suddenly a beam of bright, green light struck the tower. A loud roar could be heard as a serpent like pokemon flew right through it before stopping right infront of Zinnia. It was glowing, just like the symbols on its body as it waited to hear what Zinnia had to say to it.

Everyone, even Zinnia gasped as Rayquaza floated infront of them. "It actually worked..." Brendan mumbled under his breath, looking in awe at the legendary pokemon that only a small amount of people had the privilege to see it.

"Rayquaza, hear my wish!" Zinnia spoke full of confidence. "Please, show me your true face and help us protect the world from the wrath of Groudon and Kyogre!"

Rayquaza closed its mouth as it looked like it sighed. The lights dissapeared around it and the torches dimmed.

"Hey! What's wrong? Please, we need you!" Zinnia yelled in panic. Zinnia looked at the Keystones in the middle and saw it stopped flashing in green light. Then, realisation hit her. "The one without enough power is you Rayquaza?" She asked as she turned to the large, Sky High pokemon.

Zinnia dropped to her knees and dropped her Keystone. "How can this be..." She mumbled with her eyes closed as it started to water.

Brandon walked from behind her and stopped slightly infront of her, looking at Rayquaza. "Maybe you don't have the power to Mega Evolve, but can you please try and stop Groudon and Kyogre!?"

Rayquaza looked at Brandon. It didn't make a single move as he heard Brandon continue.

"We have powerful trainers, friends who are trying to stop them. But without your help, they will never have a chance. Please, help them Rayquaza!" Brandon pleaded.

Brendan knew Brandon as a stern and most of the time, a cold man but hearing him plead was something knew. Immediately a determined look appeared on his face as he stepped next to Brandon. "Please Rayquaza! Without you, this world is lost!" He pleaded.

Rayquaza looked at the two in understanding. Suddenly, it let out a loud roar before it took to the skies and dived down through the barrier of clouds.

"Did it work?" Brendan asked. Brandon sighed. "Only one way to find out."

(---)

"Charizard Flamethrower, once more!" Ash commanded as Charizard flew right towards Kyogre back as it was distracted as it got hit by Riley's Mega Lucario's Aura Sphere.

Charizard breathed deeply before it blasted another streak of flames. It struck Kyogre straight in its back who let out a low grunt. It surprised Ash, Pikachu and Charizard a bit as they hadn't been able to put a dent into Kyogre. Now, after all those attacks, they finally managed to do a small amount of damage.

Suddenly, Kyogre turned around and took a deep breath before multiple rings appeared and blasted streaks of water from it towards Ash, Pikachu and Charizard.

"Dodge it!" Ash yelled on top of his lungs. Charizard roared as it started moving around as quickly as possible. Charizard kept dodging and dodging as the beams of water kept coming. Suddenly, one of the beams headed straight for Charizard, having no time to dodge it.

"Aura Sphere!"

"Huh!?" Ash mumbled as suddenly a blue ball of aura crashed into the streak of water, exploding it on impact.

Ash looked to his side, seeing Riley on top of Braviary as his mega Lucario charged up another Aura Sphere. "Thanks for the save Riley." Ash sighed in relief.

"No problem Ash!" He winked, giving hin a thumbs up. Ash turned his head in order to face Kyogre. We need to do something to stop it, but what? Everything we've done has been pretty much useless so far. Even Pikachu's electric type moves don't seem to do a thing. Ash thought, gritting his teeth in frustration.

Then, as if it was only cue, a loud, thunderous roar could be heard as the thick layers of clouds finally broke open. Groudon and Kyogre heard it aswell and converted their attention to where the earpiercing sound came from.

Suddenly, a green serpent like snake cut it's way through the clouds and flew steadily above Groudon and Kyogre.

"Rayquaza!" Ash yelled. This caused the others to look up aswell while they looked at Rayquaza.

Groudon and Kyogre looked at Rayquaza with visible anger plastered on their faces. Rayquaza always acted like their leader and stopped them from fighting eachother. The two pokemon hated eachother with passion but they hated Rayquaza more for those sole reasons. They had many, many more reasons to hate Rayquaza but these were the ones that frustrated them the most.

Both glared daggers at the Sky High pokemon. The Sea Basin pokemon and the Continent Pokemon normally didn't really stand a chance against Rayquaza when it was angry but now... now it was in its normal form and both of them were in their primordial forms. They knew, if there was a chance to beat it, this was probably it. And if they did, they only had to beat one another to rise to absolute power and create a new legacy as the strongest pokemon of the weather trio.

Groudon and Kyogre roared angrily as Groudon made the first move. It slammed its arm with an unbelievable force, shooting up rocky magma pillars which headed straight for Rayquaza.

Rayquaza stayed silent as it watched the attack coming its way. He knew that these two pokemon would never stop and calm down without a fight. Now once again, it had to show its superiority over them.

Rayquaza let out a loud roar as it shot up right into the sky, dodging the incoming attack in the nick of time. But as it came to a halt, it suddenly felt something hitting its back. Rayquaza roared in pain as kyogre suddenly was behind it and blasted multiple beams of highly concentrated and compressed water into Rayquaza's back.

(---)

"It appeared, shall we do it boss?" One of the grunts asked as the helicopter just landed on a large cliff. Giovanni overlooked from up top and smirked slyly.

"Not yet. Rayquaza isn't on the level it's supposed to be... yet." He spoke as he watched the pokemon trade blows to one another. Jessie, James and Meowth stood next to Giovanni, acting like his personal body guards.

Another two helicopters landed and as soon as it did, Gozu and Archer stepped out of the first one, followed by a bunch of grunts while Proton and Petrel stepped out of the other, with some grunts aswell.

The four executives walked over to Giovanni, overlooking the battle themselves aswell. "It seems the first two stages of our plan is working." Archer commented with a sinical smirk plastered on his face.

"Yeah, and with those kids summoning Rayquaza, it makes our plan a lot easier. But when its time, I'm happy to show some muscle and beat all of them to a pulp!" Gozu spoke as he flexed his muscles.

"There is no need for that." Giovanni said, earning looks from all of them, including the trio. Some looks were shocked as Giovanni explained his reasoning.

"Once Rayquaza is on its peak of power, we'll do it and then we control three legendary pokemon, the feared weather trio. If all champions in the world would gather, they wouldn't have a single chance, let alone this group of pests. No--- once we control Rayquaza aswell, I'll personally instruct it to get rid of them." He smirked, thinking ahead in his plan.

"Now, Gozu, go to checkpoint A, Archer to checkpoint B, Petrel to checkpoint C and Proton, you go to checkpoint D. Activate the lasers and aim it at Rayquaza. Fire at my command." Giovanni instructed, not looking away from the clashes between the legendary pokemon.

"Right away sir!" The four executives spoke at the same time while putting their hands next to their head in a single motion, like they were soldiers who just got new orders. They left and walked over to the helicopters and got inside of it, each one followed by a team of four grunts.

"Uhh--- boss?" James started. "What do you want us to do?" Jessie continued as Meowth finished. "You haven't forgotten about us right?"

Giovanni turned around to face them and smiled which shocked them. The boss had never smiled at them and was now taking a few steps in their direction. He lowered down through his knees and placed his hand on Meowth's head. Meowth melted into thr affection of his boss that he had been longing for all this time.

Giovanni looked at the trio. "I want you to stay here. You've been more than successful in the last few assignments and now you can enjoy the show by my side. Let the others do the work and when this is over, maybe we can take a look at a small reward for the three of you." With that, giovanni turned back around walked over to the cliff as he folded his arms and watched the battles continue raging on.

Meowth, Jessie and James looked at eachother with shocked expressions. "A reward..." Meowth mumbled in astonishment. "Maybe a--- promotion!" Jessie exclaimed happily as the words started sinking in. Happy tears streamed down the trio's eyes. "Finally, the boss sees us worthy enough, we'll become executives!" James cried out.

"Take that Cassidy and Biff!" Jessie cried out happily. Giovanni ignored the three. He let them have their moment. After all, all these years of failure, they finally started winning for his cause and proved themselves to be worthy Team Rocket members.

(---)

Ash had just regrouped with Steven, Riley and Alain. The four of them looked shocked as Rayquaza suffered from another sneaky blow in the back. But this time it was a Solar Beam from Groudon.

"We've got to do something!" Ash exclaimed in anger and visible worry for Rayquaza's sake. "Right, and we're gonna!" He suddenly heard a voice from behind him. He saw a Salamence, Fearow and Flygon flying towards them. Zinnia was riding Salamance while Brandon and Brendan were riding Fearow and Flygon. Ash never knew that Brandon had caught a Fearow but now it was not the time to think about that. There were bigger problems at stake now.

The three landed next to them. "Rayquaza somehow can't mega Evolve now." Zinnia stated with a saddened expression on her face.

"What!? Why?" Ash exclaimed in shock. Zinnia sighed. "I don't know why. We did the ritual to summon it perfectly and the ancient paintings on the wall in Sky Pillar didn't show us anything why it can't." She explained.

"Hmmm..." Steven said, supporting his chin with his hand. "...And you didn't have a clue either Brandon?" He asked. Both Steven and Brandon had lots of experience as explorers and researchers.

"Unfortunately not." Brandon frowned.

"But last time, it didn't have any problems mega evolving." Alain recalled, thinking back at the time when he and Steven encountered Rayquaza. That was when he still worked with Lysandre, a memory he'd rather forget.

"Wait, you've seen it before!?" Zinnia asked wide eyed, flabbergasted.

"Yes, when we worked with a man to which I have a lot of bad memories." Alain sighed, feeling slightly frustrated.

"I encountered multiple times. Even a black and red one." Ash said in excitement.

"Ash... I don't think this is the time to brag about it." Brendan wispered to him.

"Uhh?" As mumbled as realisation hit him. "Oh right." He sweatdropped.

"We need to come up with a plan to help out Rayquaza." Alain said, not taking his eyes of the objective.

"Right." Brandon said as he closely looked at the three legendary Pokemon.

"What do you think we should do?" Riley asked, looking curiously over at Brandon.

"I don't know but we've got to stop them!" Ash spoke as determined as ever.

"Right with you Ash." Brendan agreed.

"How about we try to distract them?" Steven suggested.

"What do you mean?" Alain asked, frowning towards Steven. "We've tried that until now and it clearly doesn't work. We've done almost to no damage at all!" Alain said in almost a frustrated tone.

"It is true that we don't do a lot of damage to these two legendary pokemon but we can try to make us the target." Steven said in a matter of fact tone.

"Hey! I know what you're getting at. Making us the target, Rayquaza gets the advantage of surprise while they focus all their attention towards us!" Brendan said, understanding what Steven was going for.

"Sounds like a dangerous plan. What if anything goes wrong?" Riley questioned.

"We can only find out then." Steven said in a serious tone.

Everyone hesitated for a moment. "It's a rock solid plan. I love it and I'm in!" Ash smirked confidently.

Alain sweatdropped. "Ofcourse you'd say that.

Ash passed him a toothy grin and laughed, "ofcourse! If it means to help out pokemon and stop this chaos once and for all, I'm willing to put everything on the line!"

Ash then threw two pokeballs into the air. "Krookodile, Floatzel, come on out!" He yelled.

"Krookoo!" "Floa-- Floatzel!" Both exclaimed, ready to interact on any command Ash would give them.

"Krookodile, Floatzel! You two need to try and get close to Groudon and distract it. We will help out aswell, along with focusing our attention towards Kyogre. This way, we might be able to give Rayquaza a chance to win, k?" Ash explained them. As crazy as the plan sounded, the two nodded in approval, ready for the biggest fight yet and ready to faze off with legendary pokemon for the first time ever. Being ready was an understatement for Krookodile and Floatzel.

"Right! Alain, Riley and I will help them out with Groudon." Brandon spoke. "Ash, Brandon, Steven and Zinnia, you make sure you'll give Kyogre your best shot!"

"Right!" All six agreed with Brandon before stepping back on their large, powerful flying types and Steven on his Mega Metagross. Ash and Alain grinned at eachother as they climbed on top of their mega evolved Charizards, ready to go in for round two.

Everyone took to the air except for Floatzel and Krookodile who went straight for Groudon by land and water. As soon as they closed in, Floatzel opened its mouth and blasted a powerful beam of water, using Hydro Pump.

The water hit Groudon right in the side of the face. The Continent pokemon wasn't happy though as it turned its head towards Floatzel, growling viciously. It opened its mouth and fired multiple brown balls, using its mud shot attack.

"Floa!" Floatzel exclaimed as it dived under water, just in the nick of time. Meanwhile, as Floatzel dodged, Krookodile showed itself right next to Groudon, jumping out of a hole it buried itself in earlier. Krookodile roared loudly before opening its mouth wide and releasing a powerful, orange coloured Hyper Beam.

*BOOM*

The attack hit Groudon in the back and for the first time so far, shocking everyone who was focused on Groudon, it did some damage as Groudon groaned while scratching the spot that was hit.

They couldn't celebrate for long however as Groudon slammed the ground with its arm in frustration, shooting up rocky pillars of magma.

Krookodile looked on wide eyed as it was unable to move. It flinched in place as the power and energy it used to produce its strongest Hyper Beam so far leaved it wide open.

"Got you!" Alain exclaimed as Charizard swooped down and in the nick of time grabbed an hold of Krookodile. Krookodile looked back as mere seconds ago, the place where it stood, was now a massive Pillar of molten rock combined with magma.

"Krooko!" Krookodile thanked Alain and Charizard.

"No need to thank us yet! We've got more work to do!" Alain smiled at Krookodile as Charizard flew low by the ground in order to get Krookodile back on the ground again.

Meanwhile, Ash, Brendan, Steven and Zinnia flew on their respective Charizard, Flygon, Metagross and Salamence who were all mega evolved except for Brendan's Flygon.

"I've got a plan!" Ash announced. "Maybe if we combine our attacks, we can deal some big damage to Kyogre!"

"That might work, let's give it a shot!" Steven agreed. "Metagross, Flash Cannon!"

"Flygon, Dragon Pulse!"

"Salamence, Hyper Beam!"

"Charizard, Solar Beam! Pikachu, Thunderbolt!"

Everyone called out their attacks and just as ordered, everyone released their attacks. The attacks merged into one large whitish, dragon shaped beam, surrounded by electricity.

Kyogre was focused at Rayquaza as it was about to unleash another Origin Pulse but suddenly the attack cancelled as it roared in pain, getting hit by the powerful, merged attack.

"Yes!" Everyone celebrated after delivering a powerful blow to Kyogre. Soon however, their expressions turned from happiness to fear as Kyogre turned to them with not an amused look on its face. It was more a look of rage as it formed multiple beams of compressed water around it, aiming it at them.

Kyogre focused its energy as it was about to release. Then, suddenly a loud roar could be heard and a green flash launched right into Kyogre who roared in pain once more, cancelling the attack as the green flash came to a halt, revealing it was Rayquaza using Dragon Ascent.

Alain rubbed the sweat of his forehead as they just got saved in the nick of time. Taking down one or two of those streaks of water would be possible but not all of them.

"Thanks Rayquaza!" Ash thanked. Even though Rayquaza didn't do anything in confirmation, Ash knew that it heard his gratitude as it opened its mouth wide and released a beam of orange energy, using Hyper Beam at Groudon.

*BOOM*

A cloud of smoke surrounded Groudon as the attack hit hard. Everyone let out a few cheers but as the smoke dissapeared, Groudon stood there, almost unharmed and angrier than ever. Just then, as things didn't seem that it couldn't be worse, Kyogre emerged from the water, also blinded by rage. Both of them released their ultimate attacks, Origin Pulse and Precipice Blades and fired them straight at Rayquaza who didn't have a chance to dodge.

*BOOM*

Everyone was shocked as the two attacks hit the spot where Rayquaza once floated. It was now completely covered in thick black smoke and worst of it all, Groudon and Kyogre weren't done yet as they charged up another Origin Pulse and Precipice Blades, launching it at the same time again. The attacks exploded in the cloud of smoke, making everyone worry even more.

"No Rayquaza!" Zinnia cried out, being the first one to break the silence as she saw Rayquaza drop from the cloud of smoke with its eyes closed into the water down below. Groudon and Kyogre saw this as a small victory as they took down the one they shared more hate for than one another. Now, they could continue their battle. And that, they did as Kyogre launched a Hydro Pump at Groudon while Groudon fought back with a Solar Beam.

"I'm coming Rayquaza!" Ash yelled immediately as he jumped into the water. Everyone was shocked by his sudden move, even Pikachu and Charizard. Zinnia was about to follow but got held back by Alain and Riley. She wanted to glare daggers at them but realised that they were right and the only thing they could do is wait.

Ash quickly dived under water and swam as fast as he could towards Rayquaza who was slowly sinking to the bottom.

Ash took a hold of Rayquaza, grabbing it with his hands in order to try and shake it, hoping he could wake Rayquaza up again before he ran out of air.

"Come on Rayquaza!" Ash tried to yell but due to the water, he couldn't really scream any words and instead made only some noises that could be interpreted like that.

On the coast, everyone looked on until Steven suddenly got an idea. "Brandon! We need to help them!" Steven said sternly, facing Brandon, the Pyramid King.

"Yes we do, but how?" He asked in return.

"The Meteorite." Steven said in complete seriousness. Brandon's eyes widened at the remark. "Ofcourse! How could I forget! The Meteorite is said to be the power source of Rayquaza's mega evolution!"

"So that's why it didn't work." Zinnia remarked, to which Steven and Brandon nodded.

"It's in the pyramid, come and let's get it quickly!" Brandon said as he started running towards the large structure. Steven and Zinnia followed while the others decided to try and find a way to stop Groudon and Kyogre.

Soon, they entered the pyramid where an anxious Joshua was walking up and down nervously. As soon as the doors opened, he looked into their direction. "Brandon, sir! Do you know what's happening?" He asked in almost a yelling manner.

"No time to explain right now." Brandon stated as he walked right past Joshua, followed by Steven and Zinnia. He walked over to the door of the control room and opened it before going inside. While he did, he motioned Steven and Zinnia to wait.

Brandon closed the door behind him and walked over to the piece of wall where the safe was located at. He pressed the wall, revealing an opening and a handle. He typed in a special code and pulled the handle down before opening up the safe.

"This better be worth it." He stated as he took out the Meteorite and closed everything up again. He put the Meteorite in a special, protected case before he opened the door again and was met by Steven, Zinnia and Joshua.

"Do you have it?" Steven asked with a concerned look on his face. "Yes." Brandon said, giving him a brief smile before walking out of the room before walking out of the pyramid again.

Joshua stayed behind while Steven and Zinnia followed Brandon as they made their way back as quick as possible.

(---)

Ash just went up for some air before taking a deep breath and diving under again. Don't worry Rayquaza, I'll help you out, no matter what! Ash thought to himself as he determinedly swam down deeper before he reached Rayquaza again.

"Come on Rayquaza! Wake up!" Ash tried to exclaim which was due to the water impossible. Then, suddenly, Rayquaza's eyes opened as it looked at Ash. It saw the determination Ash had in its eyes.

For a long time, Rayquaza believed humans to be bad and never really trusted anyone. Except for one boy it met in Hoenn where he helped him to solve a mystery that surrounded two Deoxys.

But taking a closer look at Ash, Rayquaza noticed a few similarities between that boy back then and the one infront of him right now.

Ash saw the weak look in Rayquaza's eyes. It had suffered from some powerful hits and was in a bad condition. But Ash knew that he had to help it to the surface again. So with all his might, he tried to pull Rayquaza up.

Rayquaza looked at Ash, too weak to move on its own but then, something happened. Ash was completely forgotten how long he was already under water and soon noticed that he started running out of air. He felt the pressure on his lungs become very difficult to handle and it wasn't long until he gave in and breathed in some water, causing hun to loose consciousness.

Rayquaza felt Ash's grip weakening and immediately knew what was going on. While itself didn't have trouble to breathe under water, he knew that humans couldn't stay under water for long.

Rayquaza closed its eyes before opening them up determinedly as it grabbed Ash with both of his claws.

(---)

Brendan, Alain, Riley Pikachu, Charizard, Floatzel and Krookodile looked on worriedly now it had been some time that Ash had been up for some air. Floatzel had already dived under to try and find anything that was related to Ash but without any success.

"We've got it guys!" Steven said as he, Zinnia and Brandon came running over to them. Steven was first to notice that something was going on. "What's wrong?!" He asked in concern.

Brendan faced them with a saddened look in his eyes. "It's Ash. He's been under water for a while now and hasn't come back up yet." He said.

"And Floatzel has searched for him under water multiple times without any success." Alain added, sharing the sad look on his face. Pikachu, Floatzel, Krookodile and even Charizard were on the brink of tears as they stared at the water, realising the worst could have happened.

Brandon, Zinnia and Steven gasped at hearing the new information. All three of them shared a look of uncertainty and felt pity for Ash's pokemon but then Brandon realised something. Something that could boost their spirits as he walked over to Charizard and placed his hand on it.

He grinned as everyone gave him questioning looks. Alain was about to speak up in anger due to Brandon's rudeness but Brandon beat him to it. "Ash is OK. And the reason why I know this is because Charizard is still mega evolved.

Everyone gasped with wide eyes in shock and hope that he was right.

"Yes! Without a bond between trainer and pokemon, Mega Evolution wouldn't be possible. So this means Ash is still out there!" Steven agreed as a small smile crept onto his face as he patted Pikachu on the head who gave him a hopeful look.

Then, suddenly the ground started shaking as a large area of water shot up into the air. This caught the attention of Groudon and Kyogre aswell as they turned and looked at the large outburst of water.

A loud cry could be heard as the legendary green serpent emerged from it again, hovering in the air. At first sight, it looked beaten, weak and it was clear that it couldn't take much anymore. But what everyone then noticed was someone in its arms.

"Pika-pi!!" Pikachu cried out in happiness as he recognised who was in Rayquaza's arms.

"Ash!" Alain was first of the humans to shout in happiness as Rayquaza flew towards them and gently placed Ash on the ground.

Everyone's happy faced immediately turned into one of concern. "What happened to him!" Brendan called out extremely worried.

"He's uncounsious Riley observed. "He must've been for too long under water where he couldn't hold his breath anymore. Good thing Rayquaza saved him so that he didn't drown.

"Thank you Rayquaza!" Zinnia spoke full of gratitude as she kneeled down for the mighty legendary Sky High pokemon. The pokemon nodded, accepting the gratitude.

"Rayquaza!" Brandon yelled on top of his lungs, earning its attention. "I think you need this!" Brandon exclaimed, revealing the Meteorite inside of the suitcase. Rayquaza looked at it as Brandon took it out of the case and threw it towards Rayquaza. "Catch it!" He yelled.

Rayquaza grabbed it with its mouth and swallowed it immediately. Suddenly, Rayquaza became engulfed in a bright flashing light, earning the attention of Groudon, Kyogre, Team Rocket, the group and every wild pokemon who was around.

Ash suddenly opened his eyes slowly. The blinding lights around Rayquaza caused his awakening as he stared at the legendary pokemon. "Rayquaza..." Ash mumbled, earning a look from Alain and Brendan.

"Pika-pi!" Pikachu exclaimed as he immediately started nuzzling Ash's face, followed by Charizard who pushed his head between Ash's hand and body, Floatzel who hugged Ash's other hand and Krookodile who bursted out in tears of happiness, giving Ash a bone crushing hug.

"You guys!" Ash exclaimed weakly as he returned the affection towards his pokemon as he got up.

Ash stated back at Rayquaza as the lights stopped flashing. A loud and mighty roar was heard as Rayquaza revealed itself in it's mega evolved form.

Ash smiled at the legendary, Mega evolved pokemon. "Thank you Rayquaza, for saving me." Ash thanked. Rayquaza nodded and for as far as it could, it smiled at Ash, happy to return the favour.

Suddenly, two loud cries could be heard. Rayquaza turned around and was faced with a roaring Groudon and a roaring Kyogre.

"KKKRGGHHHHH" Rayquaza roared itself, overpowering the roars of Groudon and Kyogre who flinched at hearing the pure power Rayquaza showed.

Rayquaza glared at the two legendary pokemon who readied themselves for another attack. But before they could, Rayquaza looked up right to the sky as an orange glow surrounded it. In one swift movement, Rayquaza shot a orange ball of dragon energy into the sky which flew higher and higher until it couldn't anymore. At that point, when it was hanging high into the air, it exploded in multiple, what looked like hundreds of orange meteors which rained down on the two pokemon.

*BOOM* *BOOM* *BOOM*

The meteors hit Groudon and Kyogre one after another. The two pokemon roared in pain while Giovanni watched everything with a devilish smirk on his face.

"Finally! It's finally time!" Laughed hysterically like a maniac. He grabbed some kind of walkie talkie which connected to the earpieces every executive wore. "Aim the lasers and prepare to fire." He commanded. The truth was that he couldn't contain his excitement. Years of planning, hunger for controlling this power that he had studied for so long. Things now finally looked to be in his favour and some stupid people and certainly not Steven or Brandon would stand in his way.

"Jessie, James, Meowth!" He yelled as he faced them. The trio got shocked by hearing their names and immediately put their hands next to their heads, ready to get any command that their boss would order. "Yes sir!" They all said in unison.

"It's finally time for you to make yourself useful." He smiled evilly. The trio looked at him curiously as he continued to explain his plans.

"You see those people over there?" He asked as the three of them looked at where he was pointing at. For one moment, their eyes widened in recognition. "The twerp?"

"That's how you call them? Fine. I want you to get rid of them. I don't want them involved with my plans. Do this and you are certain to make a promotion." He said with the last part in a teasing manner.

Jessie, James and Meowth perked up immediately, hearing the word promotion. "Yes sir! Right away!" They yelled out immediately.

"Wait." James said all of a sudden when he realised something and turned back to the boss. "Sir, I don't want to go against an order of you but how do you expect us to beat them? Like even without all of our pokemon, they outmatch us massively in numbers."

Giovanni didn't take James's question in any wrong way. Instead, he grinned. "Don't worry, your help is right behind you."

James turned around and saw the three legendary pokemon fighting. "Them?" He asked in surprise.

"Yes, and us."

The trio turned around to see a red haired woman with a large R on her chest of her white dress like outfit. She also wore white, long boots.

"Ariana is the name." She introduced herself, placing her hand on the back of her head and closing one eye, like she was a model who was taken pictures of. Even though she was known throughout the whole organisation as one of the highest ranking executives, she liked to introduce herself this way. There were even rumours going throughout the whole organisation that she seemed to have a special type of affair with Giovanni and rumours said that once Giovanni finished his mission of world domination, the two would get married. Therefore, Ariana's loyalty had no bounds and she was willing to do everything to make that happen, even if it meant to kill.

Behind Ariana stood a platoon of what looked like 20 grunts who were all ready to assist in any way they could.

"Giovanni sir!" Suddenly a voice spoke through the walkie talkie thing Giovanni had on him. "Team A is in position!"

"Team B is in position Sir!"

"Team C is ready to attack Sir!"

Giovanni pressed the button, allowing him to speak to the teams. "Perfect! Stay on standby until I tell you to attack." He said.

"Roger that Sir!" The three teams replied.

In the meantime, Ariana, accompanied by Jessie, James, Meowth and the grunts started making their way over to Ash and the others.

(---)

"KKRRRRGGGG" Rayquaza roared as it became engulfed in green and started speeding at incredible pace towards Groudon and Kyogre.

"Let's help Rayquaza guys!" Ash said determinedly as he walked over to Charizard.

"Hold it twerp!"

"Huh?" Ash mumbled, hearing some sort of familiarity in the voice that spoke to him. "Team Rocket!?" Ash yelled. The others gasped at hearing it.

"That's right twerp! We're back!" Jessie grinned evilly. "Now let's introduce ourselves the proper way." James spoke.

"Prepare for trouble! We're back after a while."

"And make it double! Back with a smile."

"To protect the world from devastation!"

"To unite all peoples within our nation!"

"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"

"To extend our reach to the stars above!"

"Jessie!"

"James!"

"Meowth, now that's a name!"

"Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light!"

"Surrender now, or prepare to fight!"

"Meowth, That's right!"

"Wobbuffet!"

Ariana sighed and shrugged. Then, she gave them an evil smirk. "I'm Ariana." She said, posing with her hand on the back of her head again while winking with one eye.

"Never heard of them." Zinnia said, completely un-interested. "Same here." Riley said, causing the team Rocket members to sweatdrop and fall in anime style.

"You'll pay for not knowing us!" Jessie yelled angrily, being the first one who composed herself. "Gorgeist, Serviper! Come on out!" Jessie yelled.

"Inkay, Carnivine, let's win this!" James roared but as soon as he released Inkay and Carnivine, Carnivine turned around and bit on James's head which caused him to yell in pain while he ran up and down.

"Get a grip of yourself!" Ariana commanded sternly, causing both James and Carnivine to stop and with that, Carnivine released itself from James.

"Let's teach these kids how to battle Ariados!" Ariana yelled as she grabbed a pokeball herself. The pokeball however was different. The top half was black with yellow stripes on it, indicating that it was an Ultra Ball.

"Arrriaaaa---!" Ariados sizzled as it appeared from its pokeball. On the meantime, all the grunts released their pokemon aswell which consisted out of numerous Zubat, Golbat, Houndour and a Graveler.

"Ash! You need to focus on helping out Rayquaza! We'll deal with them!" Steven said as he drew another pokeball and threw it. "Go Aggron!"

"Aggronnn---!" Aggron roared as it came out of its body. Its head was shaped in a skull, coloured in white with two white horns sticking out. It had a dark grayish, metallic body with a large, long tail in the same colour. The difference between this Aggron and the ones Ash had seen before, this one was bigger and stronger looking which didn't surprise him. After all, it was a champions pokemon.

"Alright, thanks!" Ash said as he ran towards Charizard. "Krookodile and Floatzel, help them out!" He commanded before he hopped on Charizard and took to the skies with Pikachu sitting right infront of him.

Ash looked back as the pokemon of both sides unleashed attacks at one another. He turned back to look infront of him. How bad he wanted to help them, there was no choice. He had to help Rayquaza to stop Groudon and Kyogre and with Team Rocket distracted, who apparently were behind all this, this was his chance to do so.

"OK Charizard and Pikachu! This is how we are gonna do it." Ash said focusing his mind as it was racing, brainstorming idea after idea to find ways to help out.

Groudon slammed the ground and multiple rocky pillars shot up. Rayquaza zig-zagged effortlessly past them and closed the gap rapidly before engulfing itself in green again, using its most powerful move and signature attack, Dragon Ascent.

*BOOM*

(---)

Giovanni looked on, closely eyeing Rayquaza's movements. "Everyone, line up your line of sight immediately. Once I give the command you need to fire immediately." He said through his walkie talkie once again.

"Right Sir! We're ready to fire once you give the command!" The four teams communicated back. "Good." Giovanni replied as he watched Rayquaza fly around. It was engulfed in green as it crashed straight into Kyogre who roared in pain.

"NOW!" Giovanni yelled. Seconds after his command was given. Red laserbeams hit Rayquaza from four different directions. The red flashes surrounded Rayquaza, engulfing it completely as it roared in pain.

"What's that!?" Ash yelled, cocking his head towards Rayquaza. Then, he noticed the red beams. "Ah! Rayquaza!" He yelled. "Charizard, let's help it out! Quick!"

"Grrrrr---!" Charizard roared as it turned direction and flew straight towards Rayquaza.

"We need to interrupt those lasers some how." Ash brainstormed as he looked at the beams hitting Rayquaza. "Charizard use Flamethrower to cut through it and Pikachu use Thunderbolt!"

"Pikaaa----CHUUUU" "Grrrrr---!" Both Pikachu and Charizard roared as Charizard breathed out a streak of flames and Pikachu engulfed itself in electricity before releasing a powerful bolt towards one of the lasers. Much to their surprise, the lasers cut right right through the two attacks and kept on hitting Rayquaza.

"What!?" Ash yelled in shock as both Pikachu and Charizard stopped their attacks in shock aswell.

Giovanni watched from a large distance. He grinned devilishly as Charizard and Pikachu's attacks didn't do anything. "Try all you want. These lasers are so strong, nothing can cut through it."

Ash growled. "Seems like we need a different approach." He spoke out to no one in particular. He looked into the far distance, towards the sources of the lasers. That's when he had a lightbulb moment. "Ofcourse!" He exclaimed.

"If we destroy the source, it can't be used on Rayquaza anymore!" Ash flicked his fingers and furrowed a confident smirk. "Fly up Charizard!" Ash commanded.

Charizard took to the skies, flying higher and higher before they decided it was high enough. They flew over the sea, towards the piece of land where one of the lasers was standing. Hang on Rayquaza. We'll help you, no matter what! Ash thought.

Once they closed in on one of the lasers, Ash noticed a small group of grunts standing, accompanied by a muscular man who had an eyepatch infront of his left eye.

"Hmmm, so Team Rocket is behind all of this. No matter, we've got to stop them!" Ash said to himself as he drew another pokeball. "Unfezant, come on out!" He yelled as he threw the pokeball. Unfezant appeared and flew steadily next to Charizard.

"Pikachu, hop on Unfezant and you two need to take care of those grunts there. In the meantime, Charizard and I will destroy the machine, ok?" Ash explained his plan.

"Pika." "Un-unfezant." Both nodded in agreement as Pikachu switched from flyer. As soon as Pikachu landed on top of Unfezant, Unfezant dived down immediately, cutting through the clouds.

Gozu looked up to the sky, seeing Pikachu and Unfezant approaching fast. "What's that?" He asked. But before he could get an answer. Pikachu jumped up and released a bolt of electricity while Unfezant flapped it's wings powerfully, releasing saw like disks and sending them straight for Gozu and the grunts who were taken by surprise.

"Ahhh---!" All of them yelled, shielding themselves from the attacks as small explosion occurred and dustclouds emerged.

"This is our chance Charizard. Use Slash on the machine!" Ash commanded. "Grrr---!" Charizard roared as it dived down rapidly. Gozu noticed this and had no time to reach the machine in time. "NOOO----!" He yelled as Charizard slashed the machine in half with its glowing claws.

"Alright!" Ash cheered. "One down, three to go!" Charizard took to the skies again, followed by Pikachu and Unfezant. "Alright guys! Next up is that one!" Ash pointed intront of him, towards another laser.

They applied similar tactics, rapidly taking out the second laser aswell, without giving Team Rocket a chance to defend themselves and the machine. Ash looked at the two lasers who kept Rayquaza in check. They were visibly weaker yet still strong enough to keep it under control.

Ash, Charizard, Unfezant and Pikachu were on their way towards the 3rd laser turret but as they were flying, all of a sudden an orange coloured Hyper Beam was shot their way, narrowly missing them.

"What was that!?" Ash yelled in shock.

"Remember me?" Giovanni asked, standing in top of the cliff with Persian growling viciously next to him.

"So there you are!" Ash yelled gritting his teeth as Charizard flew towards Giovanni and landed on the opposite side of him where Ash stepped of his trustworthy partner. Ash looked angrily at Giovanni, clenching his fists as Charizard snarled at Giovanni. Pikachu and Unfezant landed aswell. Pikachu's cheeks sparked as he viciously looked at Giovanni.

"Stop it Pikachu." Ash said, much to its surprise. "I need you to take care of the other turrets, together with Unfezant. We've got this." Ash said, smirking slightly at Giovanni.

"Pika." Pikachu nodded as he quickly hopped onto Unfezant again and took off into the air. Pikachu trusted Ash's judgement and knew whenever he was confident about something, he'd pull through, no matter what.

"My my... Such confidence." Giovanni spoke, smirking slightly. "Alright then kid, show me what you've got! Nidoqueen, come on out!" He yelled, throwing a pokeball into the air, releasing a blue coloured, dinosaur like pokemon.

Nidoqueen has a blunt snout, narrow brown eyes, and large ears with brown insides. There is a small horn on its forehead, a single spine on each ear, and a line of toxic spikes running down the length of its back. Each hand has three short claws and each foot was two claws. Its lower jaw, the front of its abdomen, and two plates on its chest are cream-colored. It has a thick, powerful tail. It let out a loud, competitive roar as it landed infront of Giovanni, ready to take down whatever was thrown its way.

"Beldum! Its your turn!" Ash yelled as he threw Beldum's pokeball forward. "BELLDUMMM---!" Beldum screeched in its metallic, robot like voice. Ash knew Beldum was one of the weaker pokemon he had with him but without Pikachu, Unfezant, Krookodile and Floatzel being busy dealing with Team Rocket separately, and with Charizard being needed later on, Beldum was pretty much his only choice.

"Hahah! You think you can beat me with such a weak, pathetic pokemon?" Giovanni mocked.

"Don't judge a book by its cover Giovanni! Sure, my Beldum may not look as impressive as your Nidoqueen but it has strength, determination and compassion! With all of those abilities, there is no doubt in my mind that we can beat you, right Beldum?" Ash asked confidently.

"Bel--Beldum!" It screeched as it gave Nidoqueen a determined look.

"Do as you see fit." Giovanni scoffed. "Nidoqueen, use Dynamic Punch!"

"Nidooo---!" Nidoqueen roared as it started running towards Beldum with its fist engulfed in white.

"Meet it head on Beldum! Use Take Down!" Ash countered as Beldum launched itself as fast as it could towards Nidoqueen. Both pokemon met in the middle, clashing head on with either wanting to give an inch.

"Stop this nonsense! Nidoqueen, Hyper Beam!" Giovanni roared.

"Keep going Beldum! Give it all you've got! Take Down!!" Ash encouraged. He smiled as Beldum kept pushing harder while Nidoqueen charged her Hyper Beam. Then, As Beldum gave another push, Nidoqueen opened her mouth wide and released an orange beam of energy.

*BOOM*

"Beldum!" Ash yelled as smoke filled the area. Giovanni smirked as his plan on taking down Ash was working well. But deep down, he had another reason to battle Ash. It was to stall him so that time could help him in order to get the inevitable.

Both Ash and Giovanni looked at the cloud of smoke. Ash had a look of worry and distress on his face while Giovanni wore a smirk of pride and confidence. Nidoqueen stood right infront of Giovanni, patiently waiting for the smoke to dissapear and destroy Beldum if needed. If it was able to come out of the smoke at all.

Then, all of a sudden, bright, shining lights pierced through the smoke. Ash gasped, Giovanni and Nidoqueen were shocked to say the least as what they never expected was about to happen.

Lights went brighter and brighter, taking control of the thick cloud of black smoke which started to dissapear. The light flew above the smoke. The light was expanding in a different form. It had a round middle and it seemed to gain two arms. On the middle it gained a large spike while on the sides of its body, it gained two minor spikes. When the light dissapeared, it revealed that the icy white being had red, round rings as it's eyes.

"Metaa---!" It exclaimed in a robotic voice as it revealed itself.

"Alright! Beldum you've evolved!" Ash exclaimed happily, clenching his fist with a wide smile plastered on his face. Even Charizard let out a roar of satisfaction.

Giovanni let out a low grunt. "If you think this will give you an advantage, you're in the wrong. You're no match for us." He spoke with venom in his voice.

"Then we'll just have to prove you wrong!" Ash smiled with new born determination. He put his rotom phone away he just used to check the new moved Metang had learned now it evolved and to say that it had a nice variety of moves was an understatement.

"Let's show some of that new power Metang! Use Confusion!" Ash commanded, pumping his fist forward.

"Metang---!" It exclaimed in a robotic voice as it's eyes started to glow blue. Then, suddenly Nidoqueen was surrounded by a blue energy aswell. It looked around, being freaked out as it got lifted up in the air.

Giovanni grunted and gritted his teeth. He was seen as an evil person but back in his day, he was quite the trainer. He had won multiple league titles but never managed to beat the champion. Therefore he was the Viridian City gym leader for a very long time. But unknown to others, he had been polishing his skills as a trainer and he always had a few tricks up on his sleeve. Given his experience over all these years, he always knew a way out of though spots when he was battling.

He looked at Nidoqueen, specifically at its tail when he suddenly got an idea. "Slam your tail against the ground!" He ordered. Nidoqueen, who trusted its trainer without question did as he asked and slammed its tail straight onto the ground. This created a shocking vibration in the ground which made Ash nearly lose his footing. Metang noticed it and gave Ash a quick glance, wanting to make sure he was ok.

This moment in loss of concentration was the moment Giovanni needed. "Now, Ice Beam!" He commanded quickly. Nidoqueen roared as it opened its mouth and released multiple beams of icy blue energy.

"Metang watch out!" Ash yelled but it was too late. As soon as Metang turned back, it got hit by a powerful beam of ice into its face. The ice was freezing Metang's body rapidly and it was visibly struggling against the cold.

"Don't give in Metang! Try to burst through it with Bullet Punch!" Ash called out, hoping it could give them a break through.

"Metaaa---!" It screeched as it punched its fist at incredible speed, cutting through the Ice Beam and aiming straight for Nidoqueen.

"Block it with Dynamic Punch!" Giovanni countered quickly. And just as instructed, Nidoqueen's fist became engulfed in white energy and punched straight forward, meeting Metang's head on.

The two fists collided, pushing back and forth as sparks sparked due to the sheer amount of power. Ash however smirked. "Gotcha..." He mumbled, grinning. "Use your other arm and use Brick Break!" Ash yelled on top of his lungs.

Giovanni's eyes widened. He was used to expect the unexpected but he never saw this move coming. Metang raised his free arm before slamming it down hard on Nidoqueen's head. Ash smiled as Nidoqueen roared in pain, getting hit by the super effective move. Ash had to thank Paul for the inspiration. It was him who used this trick with his Elekid and later with Electivire against him.

"Now finish it with one more Brick Break!" Ash yelled. Giovanni stood nailed to the ground as Metang launched towards Nidoqueen and slammed it against its gut with full force, sending it flying.

*BOOM*

Nidoqueen slammed into a large pile of rocks, creating a decent sized cloud of smoke and dust on impact. Giovanni kept staring at Ash. Both knew the result and Ash was grinning. But what surprised him the most was that Ash actually managed to take down one of his strongest pokemon. Giovanni had to give him respect for that.

"Pika-pi!" Pikachu yelled all of a sudden as he came flying on Unfezant towards Ash. "Hey buddy! Did you two do it?" He asked.

"Pi!" Un! Fezant!" Both exclaimed, pointing towards Rayquaza. Ash turned around and looked at Rayquaza. There weren't any laser beams on it anymore however it was still engulfed in red.

"You think you've won already, don't you?" Giovanni spoke as he returned Nidoqueen.

"What do you mean? We've beaten you fair and square! It is over Giovanni!" Ash yelled, turning back to him with an angry look on his face.

"If you really think so, you're more of a fool than I thought." Giovanni said, causing Ash to twitch his eye a bit. "Yes, you're fool! You maybe don't know it but you've actually helped me out. By stalling you and everyone else who accompany you in this pathetic attempt to stop us, my team was able to get complete control of Rayquaza. Even now the lasers aren't working anymore." He grinned maniacally at the last part.

"You're wrong!" Ash yelled, causing Giovanni to stop laughing and look at him. "Rayquaza is much stronger than that stupid machine of yours! You could never control it, never in a thousand years!" Ash spoke in determination.

"You really think so? How about a demonstration?" Giovanni mocked. "Rayquaza!" He shouted. Suddenly, Rayquaza opened its eyes and looked straight at Giovanni.

"Get rid of this pest!" Giovanni commanded. What happened next shocked Ash as Rayquaza became engulfed in green and flew at incredible speed towards Ash and his pokemon.

Ash's eyes widened as he quickly took out two pokeballs. "Unfezant, Metang return!" He yelled as Giovanni laughed hysterically. "We need to move now!" He yelled as he jumped on Charizard, followed by Pikachu.

Charizard flapped it's wings as fast as it could to get out of the way in time. Ash watched Rayquaza getting closer and closer as anxiety build up quickly.

*BOOM*

(---)

"NOO ASH!!!" Serena yelled in disbelief as she saw Rayquaza slam into Ash, Pikachu and Charizard as well as crushing the cliff they were standing on which was now covered in a large cloud of thick black smoke.

Tears escaped her eyes as she watched what was happening. Her biggest fear was becoming reality as Ash, Pikachu and Charizard were falling down, out of the smoke, falling down the cliff before falling on the ground, uncounsious or maybe even worse.

Everyone had sweat on their foreheads, watching what happened on live TV. Gary and Shauna were first to turn to Serena with a look of pity and worry. "Serena..." Shauna spoke softly, trying to place a hand on her shoulder which immediately got pushed back by Serena as tears started to drop down on the floor.

Lucario, who also watched was in a state of shock. He didn't feel any connection with Ash anymore, nothing. The only way that the connection could be broken was if either Lucario or Ash was dead.

Lucario also felt his eyes water but it was determined not to cry. It had to stay strong for Serena and give her hope. But what hope was there to give if his master wasn't there anymore? Lucario didn't know what to do anymore as he shook his head, not wanting to face reality. He looked at Serena who was crying fully now.

He subconsciously placed his left paw on her shoulder, causing her to face him. Then, he used his other paw and placed it on her heart. Immediately, their surroundings dissapeared and turned into darkness, only seeing eachother in a blueish colour. The colour of Aura. Their aura was connected, just like their hearts now were.

"Lucario..." Serena wispered as she stopped crying and looked at Lucario, not moving an inch. Normally she didn't really understand Lucario except for one random occasion. This time however was different. Words weren't needed to understand their mutual feeling. There was one thing they needed to do and both of them knew it. Both gave eachother a nod and everything turned back to normal.

Tears were escaping both of their eyes but they knew what they needed to do. Suddenly, both started running out of the assembly hall. "Serena!" Shauna shouted, wanting to run after them but was held back by Gary. He gave her a nod, saying that she needed to give the two of them some space.

Serena and Lucario ran down the hallways of the school. Serena couldn't help but cry on her way to get outside. Her Ash was gone and she felt destroyed from the inside out. Her heart felt like it was ripped to pieces.

Ash she reached the set of double doors which lead to the outside perimeter of the school, she pushed herself through it. She took out a pokeball and threw it forward, releasing Dragonite.

"Burrr---!" Dragonite roared and was about to fly in for a hug but right before she had a chance, she saw the look of distress on Serena's face. "Burrr?" Dragonite moved her head slightly sideways in a questioning way.

"It's Ash... we need to go there as fast as we can!" Serena said desperately. Dragonite immediately had a shocked look on her face and leaped up, spinning around rapidly as an orange energy surrounded it.

"Dragonite!" Serena yelled in frustration. "We don't have time to dance! We need to go to Ash!"

"Burrr---!" Dragonite roared as it kept spinning faster. The orange energy was now becoming a tornado, surrounding the Dragon Type.

"Hhrrah!" Lucario grunted, causing Serena to turn towards him. Lucario closed its eyes and placed his paw on his chest. His ear like appendages started to float as he became engulfed in Aura.

"Master Serena. Dragonite is using Dragon Dance in order to become faster." Lucario spoke through the Aura. Serena felt like she could understand the words Lucario spoke as things started to become clear for her now. A small smile formed on her face. Now she understood that Dragonite wasn't dancing for fun but that it wanted to help her out.

Then, Dragonite stopped spinning and offered Serena and Lucario to hop on. Both Serena and Lucario climbed on top of Dragonite. As they were seated, Lucario spoke once more through his aura. "Hold on tight, this might get rough!"

Before Serena could ask, Dragonite flapped it's wings powerfully and launched away as if it was a rocket.

Gary just walked out of the school in search for Serena, only to meet a powerful gust of wind that was blasted in his face by Dragonite's take off.

"Ugh! What was that about?" He asked himself, scratching his head as he looked up at the sky.

Meanwhile in the sky, Dragonite flew as fast as it could, faster than a bullet and even a rocket was no match to it. Both Serena and Lucario had to put their bodies against Dragonite's and close their eyes in order to protect themselves from the powerful wind that they were slicing through. There was only one thing she kept repeating in her mind as they went. Hold on Ash, were coming!

(---)

"Charizard, Blast Burn!" Alain yelled as an Aura Sphere flew right past his Mega Charizard X, slamming into Graveler who roared in pain before it collapsed. It had swirls in its eyes, showing it didn't have anything left to battle with.

"Grrrrr----!" Charizard roared loudly before slamming its fist into the ground. A streak of molten rocks and magma shot up from the ground, hitting multiple Houdour and Zubat on its way before finally striking Carnivine.

"Metagross, Flash Cannon!" Steven commanded. Immediately, Metagross blasted a beam of white energy from its mouth, obliterating a few Golbat that flew infront of it.

"Let's keep this up everyone!" Brendan said as his Mega Sceptile used Leaf Blade on Seviper.

"Right!" Everyone agreed, smirk8ng as they started gaining control of the battle.

(---)

Dragonite just came flying in over the large city of Slateport. Serena and Lucario closely watched the pieces of land, ice bergs and layers of frozen water that Kyogre had created. She searched and searched, desperate to find Ash.

Then, all of a sudden, she saw something big and orange. There was no doubt in her mind what it was. "There, dive down Dragonite!" She instructed.

"Burrr--!" Dragonite exclaimed before taking a steep nose dive before leveling itself and landing right beside what Serena saw. "Charizard! Pikachu! Ash!" She exclaimed as she immediately jumped of Dragonite, followed by Lucario.

The three of them were laying on the flat surface of ice, all three uncounsious. Serena rushed over to Ash while Dragonite and Lucario went to Pikachu and Charizard. "Ash! Please, wake up!" She exclaimed with teary eyes as she kneeled down next to him and scooped his head up, placing it on her lap.

However, there was no sign of life and Serena started realising it. Tears streamed down her eyes. "No! This can't be! Please Ash, wake up!!! I-I beg you!" She cried her heart out, hugging him as tight as she could while the tears kept flowing down.

In the meantime, Charizard and Pikachu regained consciousness. Charizard was back in its normal form and both were bruised and had numerous injury marks all over them.

As soon as they realised Ash wasn't back yet, they understood the seriousness of the situation. Both couldn't believe their trainer was possibly gone. Lucario felt powerless. Normally he could sense something with his aura but even being so close to him, there was no connection. It felt like an empty, bottomless pit which could never be filled.

Dragonite was first to tear up, followed by Pikachu and Lucario. Charizard tried to stay strong but eventually also couldn't hold back the tears. All of them couldn't believe it and didn't know what to do now their trainer was gone.

"Ashh...." Serena cried, hugging his head tightly to her chest while rubbing her cheek against his head, crying her heart out. At first, she couldn't believe it but now that she saw it, she couldn't contain her pain and sorrow. Her grief for the one that she cared so much for. As she cried, she talked, talked about the things they wanted to do together.

"Ash... you can't leave me yet! Y-you still have to compete in the Kalos League... w-what about the journey we would go on together? What about that!? You can't leave me yet Ash! We have so many things to do still! Ash, I-I need you, please!" She kept crying as tears started to drench his shirt.

The tears that represented all the love Serena had for him, the current pain, grief and sorrow she was suffering. All her passion for the boy she loved. Her sole mate, everything that she felt for him was now pouring out of her eyes in the shape of tears.

One of the tears that fell from her eyes dropped on the necklace. As the tear landed, a small piece of the necklace flashed gold for a small moment. That small flash was noticed by Serena as she decided to take it off his neck.

While crying, she carefully pulled the necklace from his neck and looked at it. Tears kept streaming down as she softly spoke, looking at the necklace. "P-please Ash... c-come back to me..."

Another tear dropped on it as the necklace started to flash in a golden colour again, but this time, it became engulfed in gold and stayed like that as it became brighter and brighter.

(---)

"Where am I?" Ash asked, looking around. He was in a complete black space. A void that seemed endless. He looked at his arms and then at his legs. Everything of his body was grey.

"Pikachu? Charizard?" He called out but there was no reply. Ash decided to walk around and try and search for them. "Pikachu! Charizard!" He called out but it was useless as, just as the first time, there was no response.

"Guys! Where are you!?" Ash shouted, putting both of his hands at both sides of his mouth in order to shout louder.

"Ash..." a voice spoke all of a sudden. The voice sounded heavenly. But the strange thing was, to Ash, the voice sounded familiar.

"Who's there!? Where are Charizard and Pikachu!" Ash shouted back.

"Ash..." the voice spoke again. Ash started to get slightly annoyed, seeing only darkness while circling around in all these mysteries. "Show yourself!" Ash shouted in a hopeful attempt to get answers.

Suddenly a white, golden light flashed infront of him. The once dark space was now completely white. Ash looked on his feet and he could see that he was standing miles above a crystal blue see. His feet were carried white clouds. All of it looked like he was in heaven. He looked infront of him and finally saw the being infront of him. It was Arceus itself. "Arceus, where am I? Am I---" Ash dreaded the question but he had to ask. "---dead?"

"Saying that you're dead is harsh. You are currently in a sort of trance. Your body isn't functioning currently but your mind is. To all the other people, you are dead but truth to be told, you're just in a sort of coma, let's say uncounsious for the time being." Arceus explained.

"So if I'm uncounsious and this is all playing inside my head. Where am I then?" Ash asked curiously.

"You are in a special world that your mind created. You're in a sort of dream currently but it isn't really a dream."

"If it isn't a dream, then what is this? Where are Pikachu and Charizard?" Ash asked.

"Pikachu and Charizard are safe. Both of them are conscious again. The only one who isn't right now are you. And to tell you where you are, once people reach the state you are in now, your mind allows you to travel to a world between the living and the dead. I'm this world, it is I who judge if you're worthy enough to pass on to heaven or not. If you're not worthy, you're doomed for eternity."

"B-but I can't be dead yet! I've still got so many things to accomplish! There are still people and pokemon who need me. Serena---"

"Don't worry Ash. You aren't dead yet. My plans with you aren't over yet. You are a very special person to me. More important than any human has ever been, even Damos. do you understand that?"

"What is it that you want from me then?" Ash asked.

Arceus let out a soft chuckle. "Don't worry, you'll find out when it's time. Now, I need you to wake up and save the world..."

As the last words were spoken, all light started to dissapear, aswell as Arceus, leaving Ash alone back in the darkness.

"Now I need to wake up again, but how..." Ash mumbled to no one in particular. "Focus on what you care for the most..."

Ash looked up, listening to the words who Arceus spoke through his head. He closed his eyes and entered a deep state of thinking.

"Ash, please wake up! I can't live without you!"

Immediately, Ash's eyes opened as a bright light appeared infront of him.

"Come on Ash, I need you! We need you!" "Pika-pi!" "Grrrr----!" "Rrrahhh!!" "Burrrr---!"

He heard multiple voices cry to him as the circle of light grew bigger and started to float away from him. "Hey wait!" Ash yelled as he started running after it, stretching his arm to out to it.

"Ash...."

"I'm coming Serena! Pikachu, all of you, I'm coming!!" Ash yelled on top of his lungs as he ran as fast as he could. But the ring went faster and faster.

"Serena wait for me!" Ash yelled. His breathing grew heavier and tiredness started to take over.

"Ash please wake up! Remember the words we live by? NEVER GIVE UP UNTIL ITS OVER!"

As if he received a thousand bolts from Pikachu, Ash's energy was renewed by an unstoppable determination. With all the strength he had, he ran towards the ring of light, finally closing in on it.

"I'm coming!" He yelled with one last jump, jumping through the circle.

(---)

Serena kept crying. "NEVER GIVE UP UNTIL ITS OVER!" She cried her heart out, hanging onto Ash's lifeless body as much as she could. Suddenly Ash's eyes opened slowly.

"H-hey, I'm here..." Ash mumbled weakly.

Hearing the words, Serena froze in place. She immediately looked at Ash who had a small, weak smile on his face.

"ASH!" She exclaimed hugging him as tight as she could. "I thought I lost you..." She cried as she held onto the hug, refusing to let go.

Ash weakly placed his arms on her back and stroked it gently. "I would never leave you alone. You know that right?" He asked but Serena didn't reply. She kept hugging like as if a miracle had happened, which it actually did.

Pikachu, Lucario, Charizard and Dragonite were ecstatic with Ash alive again. They couldn't really process it but they didn't want to think about it either as they clinged onto their trainer, happy as ever.

(---)

Rayquaza, Groudon and Kyogre kept battling but the only difference was now that Rayquaza was under Giovanni's control.

"So, how are we gonna stop them?" Serena asked as she had finally let go of Ash.

"I don't exacly know how but I do know what to do." Ash said. As he looked at Serena's hands, seeing the necklace. "Can I have my necklace?"

"Huh? Sure..." Serena said with, doubting. She only knew that he had his keystone attached to it and she still found it weird that it flashed gold earlier.

She handed it over and Ash took it. He gave her a 'I'm sorry' look before he held it up high. He faced her and said, "I'm sorry for not telling you but I wasn't expecting to ever use this."

"Sorry? Using what, how?" Serena asked in complete confusion.

Ash took a deep breath. "Here goes..." He spoke as he released the air from his mouth. He looked up at the sky and held the necklace high.

"You told me whenever I needed your help, you would help me. Now, the time has come! Arceus, I summon you!"

Immediately, a sound appeared, a sound that sounded like a thousand explosions in the air. Everyone and everything stopped with what was going on. Giovanni, the legendary pokemon, the Team Rocket members and everyone who fought them looked up at the sky.

The once stormy looking sky turned completely white, only to be cut apart by golden rings that appeared in the sky. From those golden rings, a golden light flashed through it. Then, something happened that no one could predict. From the golden light, a portal opened.

Something flew through the portal. Something that made everyone gasp. It was Arceus, the Alpha pokemon and the god of their world.

"No way..." Steven mumbled. "I only thought it was a legend..." Riley added. Alain and Brendan looked in disbelief, aswell as the Team Rocket members, the trio and Ariana. Brandon, who was always cool and collected, couldn't believe his eyes. Everything the ancient scripts foretold about Arceus were actually true.

Giovanni looked at Arceus with his mouth wide open, in disbelief.

Serena looked at Ash, who had his eyes fixated at Arceus as the god pokemon slowly descended towards him. "You are able to summon Arceus and you never freakin' told me!?"

"I'm sorry..." Ash chuckled slightly before pulling her towards him. No matter the situation, he felt happy and more powerful as ever with her by his side. "No more secrets. This was the last one."

"It better is." Serena said in a stern tone before giving a small kiss on his cheek. "I missed that." She mumbled. "Me too..." Ash agreed, loving the small piece of affection. Even in these moments where the world seemed to collapse, it gave him strenght.

Ash looked up at Arceus who was floating right infront of him. "Arceus. Without your help, we have no chance on stopping Rayquaza, Groudon and Kyogre. Team Rocket took control of them. So please help us!" Ash shouted.

Arceus looked down on Ash. "You have helped me in the past by giving back the Jewel of Life. It is that you have done for me, I, Arceus will help you stop this once and for all and bring justice to the ones who try to disturb the balance."

With that, Arceus floated up again and faced Groudon, Kyogre and Mega Rayquaza. "You three! You are all creations of mine. Now, show me what you've got!" Arceus shouted with a bit of confidence and venom in his voice.

Ash couldn't see it but he knew Arceus was smirking. It happened once before that legendary pokemon tried to test its powers and ultimately were no match to it. Ash was glad that he was at Arceus's good side in this.

Kyogre was first, it fired multiple beams of compressed water towards Arceus, using its signature move Origin Pulse.

Suddenly, the golden ring around Arceus's back turned blue and it absorbed the move. Then, when the move was absorbed, purple, whitish rings surrounded Arceus before the same coloured particles shot towards Kyogre like bullets. Kyogre roared in pain as Arceus used its Cosmic Power.

"Take that!" Arceus roared as Kyogre crashed into the thick layers of ice that coveted the sea. Groudon roared in anger as it smashed its gigantic arm at the ground, sending pillars of molten rocks towards Arceus.

As the pillars closed in rapidly, Arceus surrounded itself in a purple like ball. The pillars struck the ball but couldn't break through. It was clear that Arceus was lots stronger than Groudon. It showed that it was the Alpha pokemon for a reason.

As the ball dissapeared, Arceus glowed in a golden light as he revealed all of his 17 plates which spinned slowly around its golden ring.

"Don't try to test my limits!" Arceus roared as it shot a purple like tornado which looked like twister but much stronger towards Groudon.

The tornado connected and Groudon roared in pain. But unlike Kyogre, Groudon managed to stay on his feet. Light particles rained down above his head. It was charging up for one specific move. Then, Groudon opened its mouth and shot a large, powerful white beam towards Arceus.

"Do you think you can defeat me with that!?" Arceus then fired a white, orange beam, surrounded by red, fiery circles towards the incoming Solar Beam. To Ash, it looked like a more powerful Flametrower. He had seen Arceus's power before but now, now it seemed like it was on another level. Arceus was compared to last time, in control of himself and not lost in anger.

*BOOM*

The Solar Beam and the overpowered Flamethrower of Arceus connected but soon, the Solar Beam was getting shredded to pieces as the flames sliced through it like a hot knife through butter.

*BOOM*

The flames crashed into Groudon who shot back due to the raw power the move possessed.

"Now, who's next!?" Arceus mocked as it looked at Rayquaza. Rayquaza became angered, still in control by Giovanni, it opened its mouth and shot a large orange beam towards Arceus.

"It's useless!" Arceus roared as the ring on its back now turned into a greyish colour. Arceus absorbed the Hyper Beam like it was nothing. Then, the ring turned back to gold again and Arceus smacked its head forward, releasing a freezing cold gust of wind which looked more powerful than a hurricane.

The gust of wind hit Rayquaza head on. Rayquaza tried to fight through it but the move slowly started to overpower it as it was super effective on it. However, Rayquaza wasn't planning on giving up as it surrounded itself in green and suddenly launched itself through the Blizzard and went straight for Arceus.

"Haven't you had enough yet!?" Arceus exclaimed. Rayquaza roared loudly as it charged at Arceus faster and faster. "Fine then, have it your way!"

Arceus surrounded itself in the purple ball again and went straight for Rayquaza, meeting it head on.

The two clashed. Arceus noticed that Rayquaza was stronger in its mega evolved form. However, Arceus knew that it wasn't strong enough and eventually had to give in.

Suddenly, a beam of water and a streak of fire shot up from beneath them. The two attacks engulfed Arceus's ball it was in. Quickly, the attacks managed to break the ball and surprise Arceus who didn't expect it at all. The moves hit Arceus, aswell as Rayquaza who still was using Dragon Ascent.

Arceus roared in pain as it became surrounded by a big, black cloud of smoke. The weather trio however, saw this as an opportunity. Now they, finally found a weakness in Arceus's 'unbreakable defense'.

Giovanni saw it aswell. "So that's how it is. It can stop any attack head on but when using multiple moves at once, it can't absorb it." He smirked, seeing an opportunity to take down the god of pokemon itself.

Knowing that his machines were destroyed, he couldn't take control of Arceus. Therefore, he had to do something else. "Rayquaza! I order you to destroy Arceus, once and for all!"

Rayquaza screeched out loud, letting out a deafening sound before it engulfed itself in a green aura again before it flew straight at Arceus.

*BOOM*

"ARCEUS NO!!!" Ash yelled as he saw Arceus drop down from the big cloud of smoke. It crashed into the icy ground, creating a big crater.

"Arceus!" Ash yelled as he started running towards the Alpha pokemon. "Ash wait up!" Serena exclaimed, stretching her arm out towards him while she started running aswell, followed by Pikachu, Lucario, Dragonite and Charizard.

As soon as Ash reached Arceus, he placed his hands on it. "Arceus, are you ok!?" He asked in concern. Instead of a full answer, Arceus groaned in pain.

"Ash!" Serena shouted as she reached him. "Is Arceus ok?" She asked in a concerning voice.

Ash stood up and faced her, closing his eyes. "I don't know but if Arceus can't fight, we have to!" He said, opening his eyes at the last part.

Serena's eyes widened. "Are you sure?" Ash nodded. "If we stand here and do nothing, the world is gonna be destroyed!" Ash felt determined. He had to do something and now was the time. He looked at Charizard and both nodded to one another. "Let's do this!"

Ash pressed the keystone in his necklace. "Charizard! Mega Evolve!" He exclaimed as blinding white and yellow lights fused with one another, transforming Charizards appearance again. The lights exploded into sparkles and Mega Charizard Y appeared infront of Ash.

Rayquaza roared as it flew around through the sky. Groudon and Kyogre looked at one another. Their battle was over as Rayquaza once again stopped them. But now, now that Rayquaza stopped them. They had to help it. They didn't know it was under mind control and thought that now Arceus was threatening them.

"Pikachu, hop on Charizard! Dragonite go with them aswell. Lucario, I've got something else for you." Ash instructed. Immediately, Charizard, Pikachu and Dragonite took to the sky.

"What do you want me to do Ash?" Serena asked, placing her hand on her chest, not wanting to be useless.

Ash looked at her and smiled. "Stay safe and close to me. I need you." Serena gave him a heartfelt smile, touched by the love he had for her.

"Ok Lucario, we might not be able to heal Arceus, but since you have a strong Aura, we might be able to patch it back up, just enough to battle again." Ash suggested.

"That's brilliant Ash! That might work!" Serena complimented as she took a stance next to Ash.

Lucario placed his paws on Arceus and shockwaves of blue energy started to go through its paws, into Arceus's body.

Then, Ash placed his hands on Arceus aswell. Serena looked at him in confusion. "Ash? What are you doing?"

"I'm helping Lucario. There was a time, when I was in Rota with Brock, May and her little brother Max. There, I met a Lucario that belonged to an ancient aura guardian, Sir Aaron. Together with that Lucario, we managed to save the tree of beginning. That Lucario showed that i have a strong aura aswell which means that I should be able to help out aswell." Ash explained himself, full of determination.

Serena nodded in determination and also placed her hands on Arceus. "Maybe I do have some aura in me aswell. I can communicate with Lucario now so maybe I'm able to help out aswell!" She winked at Ash before closing her eyes in deep concentration.

Ash smiled at her before closing his eyes aswell. Then suddenly, shockwaves of blue energy moved from their hands into Arceus aswell. They were significantly weaker than Lucario's but they boosted Lucario's powers.

Then, Arceus opened its eyes. It stayed silent but watched Ash, Serena and Lucario's dedication to help it. Arceus felt touched by it. This was the second time that Ash saved it. Arceus felt grateful. Then, Arceus let out a low grunt, causing Ash, Serena and Lucario open up their eyes and look at it.

"Arceus!" Ash shouted. "You're back!" Serena added with a wide smile.

Arceus looked at the three. "You... you helped me..." Arceus spoke.

"Ofcourse! Why wouldn't we?" Ash asked. "We help anyone who needs help!" Serena said sweet but determined. "Rrah!" Lucario added in agreement.

They couldn't see but Arceus smiled as it stood back up. "Ash, Lucario and..."

"Serena." Serena introduced herself, smilingly. "Yes, Serena. Thank you all for helping me." Arceus said as he stood back up at its four legs.

*BOOM*

"Charizard!" Ash shouted as he saw Charizard crash into the ground a few feet away from him. Ash immediately looked up at the sky. Dragonite was using Dragon Rush while Rayquaza used Draco Meteor. Dragonite, with Pikachu on her back dodged one after another. But the meteors were to big and to fast. Suddenly one of the meteors crashed into Dragonite who grunted roared in pain before it crashed into the ground.

Arceus saw this. He noticed that the pokemon gave everything to protect the world they loved so much. He saw Riley, Steven, Brandon, Brandon Jr. And Zinnia fight against the team Rocket members.

Arceus looked up at Rayquaza again. A sudden burst of determination coarsed through its godly body. Then, he looked down at Ash. "Ash, lucario, I need your help."

"Huh? With what Arceus?" Ash asked curiously, yet confused. His pokemon were giving it all. How was he supposed to help more?

"Touch your keystone." Arceus said. Ash was a bit confused but decided to thrust the matter. He touched his Keystone and blinding lights appeared.

"Good, now you and Lucario need to concentrate your aura on me." Arceus said. Both Ash and Lucario nodded at eachother. They folded their hands and closed their eyes, concentrating deeply. Serena looked at them curiously until Arceus spoke to her. "You should grab his hand and help him focus. With the love I can see that you two share for one another, it can strengthen the powers that are within."

"Uhh... okay..." Serena said, feeling a bit doubtful but she wrapped her arm around Ash's and put both of her hands in his. She closed her eyes and also focused her mind. However, she focused on all the love she shared for him.

Then, all of a sudden, a blue glow started to emit from Ash and Lucario while Serena emitted a pink glow. "Keep focusing and focus harder." Arceus said.

Then, as they put all their minds to it, Arceus started to glow white. Somehow, it started transforming. Ash, Serena and Lucario focused to the best of their abilities.

The bright lights stopped glowing as Arceus's mega evolved revealed itself.

Ash, Serena and Lucario gently opened up their eyes again as the lights stopped. All of them had an astonished look on their face as Arceus stood infront of them in an unknown form.

"Did you just...?"

"Yes. This is my Mega Evolved form." Arceus interrupted Ash.

"But in order for mega evolution to work, you need a strong bond between trainer and pokemon." Serena spoke in a questioning manner.

Arceus let out a soft smile. "That is correct young lady. Why do you think I asked Ash to do this?"

"Wait... does that mean...?"

"No Ash. We do have a strong bond as you are the only human who has laid contact with me multiple times and saved me already twice now. That doesn't mean that I will become your pokemon." Arceus chuckled before he looked up at the sky. "Now, how about we save this world?" He suggested as he floated back up again.

Ash and Serena looked at one another with a smile. "Let's do this! They exclaimed both at the same time with determination. Both if them climbed onto Charizard's back. "Are you ready Charizard?" Ash asked.

"Grrrr---!" Charizard roared more determined than ever. Ash grinned as he looked over at Dragonite who had Pikachu and Lucario on its back. "How about you three?"

"Burrrr---!"

"Pikaaa---!"

"RRRAHH----!"

Serena wrapped her arms tightly around Ash's middle, making sure she'd hold on tight as Ash instructed Charizard to take towards the skies.

As Arceus floated at a good enough height, still far enough away from Rayquaza, Groudon and Kyogre to notice it, Charizard and Dragonite flew at either side of Arceus.

"Now that you've saved me, let's return the favour by granting you some extra power to take them on!" Arceus spoke as it started emitting a rainbow coloured light. Both Charizard and Dragonite started to glow lightly, receiving almost more power than their bodies could handle.

Dragonite changed shape while Charizard changed colour. Lucario mega evolved while Pikachu received a huge power up boost.

"What happened?" Ash asked.

"I granted your pokemon a special power. A power that can only be used once. Normally Dragonite isn't able to Mega Evolve but now, for this I made an exception. Now, all of your pokemon are able to compete with legendary pokemon." Arceus explained.

"Awesome..." Ash wispered to himself, causing Serena to giggle slightly.

Arceus floated infront and soon closed in on Rayquaza, making itself noticeable. "Remember me?" Arceus taunted.

"KGGGGHHHHH----!" Rayquaza roared in anger. Giovanni looked on with astonishment, seeing an unknown form of Arceus right infront of him.

"Now, it's time I'm bringing you to justice!" Arceus roared as he smacked his head up towards the sky.

The wheel on Arceus's body glowed brightly in rainbow colours, and an orange orb appeared on top of Arceus's forehead. It then launched the orb into the sky, which left behind orange streaks as it fired. The orb then exploded in the air, releasing multiple pink meteors to come crashing down, destroying anything that could come in its path.

Rayquaza engulfed itself in green, dodging as many meteors, as quick as it could. But it was to no avail as one of the meteors hit the Sky High pokemon, followed by several more.

Rayquaza roared in pain but wasn't planning on giving up as it fired an orange beam towards Arceus who countered with its Flamethrower. However. This time, the once white-orange beam of flames was now turned into a rainbow coloured streak of flames.

*BOOOOOOOM*

A massive cloud of thick black smoke filled the air. Groudon and Kyogre, still in their primal forms saw this as an opportunity to attack Arceus.

Groudon slammed the ground, shooting up pillars of molten rocks again while Kyogre released multiple beams of compressed water, both using their signature moves.

As the moves closed in on Arceus, Groudon and Kyogre were met by a surprise. The pillars were met and crashed by incoming Aura Spheres, a Thunderbolt and an Ice Beam from Mega Dragonite, Mega Lucario and Pikachu.

Kyogre's beams of water were met head on by a black, combined with blue and red flames, burning through the water, evaporating it.

"Don't think so!" Ash smirked as Charizard growled at Kyogre, more than ready for round two. As Pikachu, Dragonite and Lucario focused on Groudon, Arceus fought Rayquaza, Ash, Serena and Charizard aimed for Kyogre.

"Now, let's stop them and save the world once and for all!" Ash grinned. "Right with you!" Serena smiled happily while she placed her head against Ash's back. Charizard snarled and roared ecstatically.

"Flamethrower, once more!" Ash commanded. "Grrrr----!" Charizard roared as it released a black, orange and blue streak of flames from its mouth towards Kyogre.

Kyogre opened its mouth, blasting a large beam of water towards them, using its Hydro Pump attack.

*BOOOOOOOM*

Alain looked up at the sky and his eyes widened. "What's going on here!?" He yelled all of a sudden.

Brandon and Steven just tied up the last members of Team Rocket as Alain's sudden yell caught their attention. They looked on wide-eyed, aswell as Zinnia, Brandon Jr. And Riley, seeing a large black Charizard, a strange looking Dragonite, but more surprisingly Arceus in an unknown form.

Even the Team Rocket members looked on in astonishment. But now they were distracted, Jessie, James and Meowth saw this as their opportunity to secretly get away.

"We need to help them!" Alain shouted as he was about to run over to Charizard but was held back by a hand on his shoulder. He looked around to see Steven.

"Even if we wanted to, we can't even put a dent into them and that!" Steven said, pointing up to Charizard and Kyogre. Charizards flames evaporated Kyogre's Hydro Pump and the flames struck Kyogre head on, causing it to screech in pain. "They don't need our help." Steven smiled.

Alain relaxed his body and turned towards the Team Rocket members. "Let's make sure they get caged up then." He said.

(---)

"Solar Beam!" Serena yelled. Ash smiled at her as Serena gave Charizard a command this time. Serena felt great, also being in control as Charizard released a large, white beam, surrounded by green rings towards Kyogre.

Kyogre used it's Origin Pulse but to its surprise, the move didn't stand a chance as the Solar Beam cut right through it some how. The attack hit head on, becoming stronger by the second as Kyogre felt the destructive power burn its body.

"Now! Let's finish it!" Ash yelled, ready to give his final command. He looked at Serena who nodded determinately. "BLAST BURN!" Both of them yelled.

Charizard let out a deafening, almost prehistoric roar as it slammed the ground with its fists. The ground bursted on impact as magma shot up everywhere. Molten rocks in rows of what seemed like twenty went straight for Kyogre who's eyes were wide.

*BOOOOOOOOOOM!!!*

The heat that radiated from the move caused the ice in a radius of 250 meters to melt and turn back into sea water. Kyogre was engulfed in the flames as it ultimately gave in and turned back in its regular form, landing into the water.

As soon as the move was over, Kyogre surface again from the water and if seemed calmed down completely.

Ash looked towards Dragonite, Lucario and Pikachu as Pikachu just struck Groudon with a combination of an severely overpowered Iron Tail, Aura Sphere and Hyper Beam. Groudon was also turned back to normal and calmed down completely.

"Alright! Only one left is Rayquaza." Ash celebrated with Serena and Charizard. Just then, Arceus launched another orange orb into the sky. "Stop this nonsense! I'm bringing you back to justice!" Arceus roared as the meteor exploded into multiple pink orb raining down as Rayquaza flew straight through it, using its Dragon Ascent.

Ash noticed that Rayquaza was biting its way through the Judgement attack and saw it closing in on Arceus.

"We need to help Arceus!" Ash stated. "Charizard! Flamethrower on Rayquaza, quick!" He commanded.

"Grrrrr----!" Charizard roared loudly before blasting a beam of black, orange and blue flames towards Rayquaza.

*BOOM*

The Flamethrower hit Rayquaza in its side, causing it to lose its control and abruptly stopping the attack. Then, a meteor struck it on the head, causing it to screech out in pain.

"Now let me finish you, you ignorant being!" Arceus roared as he charged up a Blizzard attack.

"WAIT----!"

Arceus stopped, hearing the voice that seemed all to familiar. Suddenly Ash, Serena flew on Charizard's back between the two. "Arceus stop it!" Ash shouted.

"And why would I!?" Arceus roared, angry by the fact that Ash stopped his attack.

"Rayquaza is hit by mind controlling lasers, it doesn't know what it's doing!" Ash shouted in return. This seemed to calm Arceus down a bit. "Who is this foolish person who thinks he can control it!?"

"It's Giovanni!" Ash said, pointing down to the cliff where Giovanni stood. A look of anger and disgust coloured Arceus's face as it floated down to Giovanni.

Giovanni got scared as Arceus rapidly closed in on him and stopped right infront of him. In the panic, he dropped the remote that he used to keep control of Rayquaza.

Ash saw this and immediately knew what to do. "Pikachu! Thunderbolt on that remote!" He ordered.

"Pika-----" Pikachu chanted as it leaped up from Dragonite's back, engulfing itself in electricity. "CHUUU---!" Pikachu exclaimed, releasing a bolt of electricity, burning the remote to a crisp.

The red flash in Rayquaza's eyes dissapeared and it immediately turned back to its normal form, looking around in confusion.

"It's not what it looks like." Giovanni pleaded.

"YOU FOOL!" Arceus roared over Giovanni's voice, causing him to flinch. "YOU THINK YOU CAN CONTROL US FOR YOUR OWN SELFISH PURPOSES!?" Arceus roared in anger.

"Pssst, boss!"

Giovanni slightly turned his head to the noise, seeing the trio, hiding behind a few rocks. A small smirk appeared on his face. "Yes! I thought I could control Rayquaza and I still think I can!" Giovanni countered.

"NO! LET ME BRING YOU TO JUSTICE!" Arceus roared.

"Maybe next time!" Giovanni smirked. Then, suddenly he threw something on the ground that exploded into a cloud of smoke. Arceus, aswell as Ash and Serena looked on in surprise. The smoke quickly faded, revealing that Giovanni was gone.

Arceus roared in anger, not being able to bring it to justice as he wanted.

"Calm down Arceus!" Ash shouted. "It's over now!"

Arceus turned to Ash. "No its not! He escaped!" Arceus retaliated.

"We'll get him once we see him again." Ash said in confidence. Going against the god of pokemon wasn't a small thing to do, yet he did it now.

Arceus breathed, relaxing its mind and body. "You sure are stupid to go against me. Maybe that is what I like about you." Arceus spoke, letting out a small chuckle.

"Yeah, he sure is!" Serena giggled in agreement as Charizard landed on the ground, as well as Dragonite. Ash, Serena, Pikachu and Lucario hopped off and as soon as they did, Charizard, Dragonite and Lucario turned back to normal and collapsed in exhaustion, aswell as Pikachu.

"Guys!?" Ash shouted in concern, kneeling down by Charizard's side.

"Fear not. The amount of power that was used just took a toll on their energy. They will be back to normal in no time." Arceus spoke, washing a wave of relief over Ash.

Now, Arceus also turned back to its normal form as it looked at Groudon, Kyogre and Rayquaza. "You three should go back to your homes. You have my permission to rest up and I will make sure you will not be bothered again by evil do-ers."

The three pokemon that symbolised the weather trio nodded and then Kyogre dived into the water, Groudon walked back to the vulcano it rested in and Rayquaza flew back up, high into the clouds.

"Thank you for helping us save the world Arceus." Ash said gratefully. "Yes, without your help, there was no way we could stop them." Serena added with a smile.

"No, I have to thank you for your wonderful efforts. Therefore Ash, I have decided something." Arceus said.

Then, the Charizardite Y changed from colour. Arceus brought out it's 17 plates and they merged together. From each plate, a small peace was taken off and formed into a small round stone. The plates turned back to normal and dissapeared back into Arceus while the stone floated infront of him.

"What did you do?" Ash asked.

"Take this. It is a special crafted mega stone for Dragonite. I also changed the Charizardite Y into a Charizardite Z. This allows you to Mega Evolve these two pokemon into the shapes and forms you was today. But keep in mind, they won't be as powerful as they were today since I boosted their powers to come close to my power." Arceus explained.

"I--- I don't know what to say..." Ash said as a wide smile turned on his face.

"It is a reward for what you have done today. Now, Serena what would you like to have?" Arceus asked, looking at Serena. Serena thought for a moment, putting her index finger on her lip. Then, she closed her eyes and smiled before opening them up again. She wrapped her arm around Ash's and said. "Nothing, I've got everything all I've ever wanted right here." She looked at Ash with a heartfelt smile which he returned.

"I see. Then let me give you this." Arceus said, forming another golden shape like the ring like structure on its back and handed it over to Serena. "Just like how I trust Ash with this, I trust you aswell. You can call on me whenever you need me." Arceus said.

"Thank you Arceus!" Serena thanked, more than happy as she accepted the gift from Arceus.

"There is no need to thank. The two of you saved the day. And Serena. Keep an eye out in the future. There might be another reward for your bravery today." Arceus spoke.

After that, Arceus looked up at the sky. "It is time that I shall take my leave. Take care of eachother you two."

"Thank you for everything Arceus!" Both Ash and Serena said as they waved Arceus goodbye while it floated up higher and higher.

"Ash!" "Serena!?"

Hearing the voice, Ash and Serena turned around, seeing Brandon, Zinnia, Brendan, Alain, Riley and Steven run up to them. Steven, Alain and Brandon were confused to see Serena here but didn't question the matter as they looked up at the sky, seeing Arceus.

A rainbow coloured portal opened, looking a lot like a ultra wormhole and Arceus went through it before it dissapeared.

"You two have a lot to explain." Alain said in a mocking tone as a smirk plastered on his face. "Especially about how you know Arceus." Brandon added.

"Sure! But first..." Ash said as everyone looked at him in anticipation. "Can we eat? I haven't had any food since this morning and I'm starving..." Ash groaned, wrapping his arms around his stomach.

Everyone sweatdropped and laughed. Ash joined the laughter aswell while Serena wrapped herself around Ash, placing her head on his shoulder. She closed her eyes. She was happy that she was reunited with him again and that he was safe in her arms again.

And that's a wrap guys! The movie chapter is done and I hope that I accomplished in fulfilling your expectations. Let me know your thoughts on the introductions of Beldum's evolution into Metang, Mega Charizard Z and Mega Dragonite!

I know, Mega Charizard Z is just a shiny version of Mega Charizard Y but I think this is the coolest version of a mega Charizard Z there is. For your information, it is the first and for now the only triple type pokemon in my story. Dragon/Fire/Flying.

Again, thank you all for the patience and hope you enjoyed! See you all next Friday!
