Ash's Rotom phone started ringing. Ash looked at it curiously and recognised the number. "Nurse Joy?" He said, looking at Serena with a flat face.
Serena nodded in a way that she thought he should answer the call. Ash pressed the green button on the phone. "Hello? Nurse Joy?" He asked.
"Hello Ash? Is Serena with you? You two need to get here quickly! Your eggs!"
"What do you mean our eggs!? What's wrong!?" Ash asked worriedly, gaining a concerned look from Serena. They had left their pokemon eggs at the pokemon center so that nurse Joy could care for them while they enjoyed their vacation. Not that they wanted to keep it with them but knowing Nurse Joy, she could do a much better job than they ever could, caring for the eggs. Not to mention all the special equipment they had at the pokemon center.
Ash pressed on the speaker button so that Serena also could hear what Nurse Joy had to say.
"We just saw both eggs glow brightly. That means they will hatch soon." Nurse Joy spoke in a cheery voice.
Ash and Serena sighed in relief before a wide smile appeared on their faces. "We'll be right on our way!" Serena yelled loud enough so that nurse Joy could hear her. She herself couldn't wait for this day to happen. She had been wondering numerous times about what kind of pokemon would be inside the egg.
"Okay, I will do the preparations right away! I'll see you soon!" Nurse Joy said before ending the call. Ash put the phone down and he and Serena stared at eachother in utter silence.
"Gaaaaahhh!!" Serena squealed, jumping up and down.
"Alright!!" Ash yelled at the same time, jumping up and pumping his fist into the air.
"Let's get there immediately!" Ash announced excitedly, standing up and grabbing his bagpack. Then, he ran over to the door.
"Wait Ash!" Serena called out. Ash stopped dead in his tracks and looked over his shoulder to look at her. "Can we finish our breakfast first?" She asked.
Ash sweatdropped. "Sure, sorry." He chuckled before putting his bag down again and sit down infront of Serena. He himself gulped down the last of his food down in a matter of seconds. Then, he looked at Serena, smilingly watching her eat. He admired her in so many different ways, he couldn't describe it, even if he wanted to. She was special to him, that's for sure. But she was more than that. He had never cared so much for anyone else than her. Sure, he loved his mom, pokemon or friends, but not like he loved Serena.
Serena giggled slightly, covering her mouth with her hand, which he found so cute. "Ash..." Serena giggled.
"Yeah?" He asked, not changing his stare at her.
"You're drooling." Serena giggled. As soon as the words hit him, he chuckled in embarrassement as he sat back up straight. "Sorry... Couldn't help it." He defended himself, chuckling while scratching his cheek in embarrassement.
Serena stood up from her seat and walked around the table. When she stood next to Ash, she bowed froward slightly and kissed him on the cheek. "Don't worry about it, it's cute." She wispered with her lips still against his cheek. Then, she stood back up straight and grabbed her glass and plate. "Let's put this in the dishwasher and go to the pokemon center! I can't wait to see what pokemons are gonna hatch from our eggs!" She exclaimed excitedly.
Ash grinned widely at her. Her upbeat voice, the way she talked. After all this time of being together, it still made his heart warm and fuzzy. He picked up his glass and plate and placed it in the dishwasher. Then, he walked over to Serena and hugged her from behind. "I love you." He wispered, brushing his cheek against hers. Serena tensed up as his warm breath tickled her neck.
She turned to Ash and gave him a quick kiss. "Come on Ash, let's go! Our future pokemon are waiting for us!" She announced, releasing herself from Ash and now grabbing her bag and walking towards the door excitedly. Ash smiled at her excitement as he grabbed his own bag and followed her out of their hotelroom.
Fifteen minutes later, the couple walk hand in hand through the automatic doors of the pokemon center. "Nurse Joy!" Ash called out. He was greeted by a friendly wave from the Alolan version of Nurse Joy. "Ash and Serena, you're here, good!" She said as she stepped away from behind the counter. "Follow me please." She gestured them as she pushed two doors with a red cross on it open.
Ash and Serena nodded to eachother. They couldn't wait to find out what was inside the eggs. But whatever pokemon it would be, they would love it.
They followed nurse Joy through the hallways and past the corridor, where they were met by another set of double doors. "Here it is." Nurse Joy announced, pushing the doors open.
Ash and Serena followed her inside. They were met my a room full of medical equipment. They soon noticed the eggs that were placed inside a small container, on top of an iron coated table. They were normal, just like when they brought it here.
Lucario and Pikachu looked at eachother confused. To them, it was like nothing had changed. It was the still the same and they couldn't tell why nurse Joy called them here as it seemed they weren't ready to hatch at all.
Even Ash himself wondered why nurse Joy had asked them to come, seeing the eggs. He shared his pokemons opinion, even though he didn't know they thought the same.
Ash only had Lucario and Pikachu with him as his Alolan pokemon wanted to stay at Kukui's house. Despite being Ash's pokemon, it was their real home after all.
Ash and Serena walked closer to the eggs. A few wires were attached to them. Nurse Joy was typing on a computer which seemed to gather all the data about the eggs.
"Nurse Joy? Are you sure they are gonna hatch soon? I don't see any difference from when we brought them here." Ash said in a confused tone. Serena flicked her gaze between Ash and Nurse Joy, waiting for an answer.
Without looking at them, nurse Joy kept typing on her computer. "Don't worry, it's ready alright. You can see it about--- now!" She said, switching her gaze from the computer to the eggs.
As if it was right on cue, the eggs glowed once brightly. The moment was brief but Ash, Serena, Pikachu and Lucario looked at it in amazement. "Awesome..." Both Ash and Serena murmured under their breath.
"So is there any way how we can speed up the process?" Serena asked. Excitement started to take over her emotions. She couldn't wait any longer. She felt like a kid who went to the amusement park for the first time.
"Let see... There actually is a way..." Nurse Joy answered, putting her indexfinger into the air in a way that she was about to make a point.
"Tell us!" Ash shouted excitedly. He couldn't contain himself anymore. He felt like he could run fifty times around Manalo Stadium without getting tired.
"Well... there is an ability called Flame Body. It helps eggs hatch much faster but unfortunately we don't have a pokemon with that ability here..." Nurse Joy said in a sad tone.
"Flame body...?" Ash wispered to himself until he suddenly had a light bulb moment. "That's it!" He yelled, hurrying his way to the doors.
"Ash!!? Where are you going?" Serena yelled in confusion. "I'll be right back! Gotta make a quick call!" He answered as the doors closed on its own. "Good thing I left my pokemon at professor Kukui's house!" He said to no one in particular.
A few minutes later, the doors opened again. "Here it is!" Ash yelled excitedly, holding a pokeball in his hand. "What is here, Ash?" Serena asked.
"Our solution!" He smirked at her, winking. "Talonflame, come on out!" Ash yelled, throwing the pokeball up in the air.
"Talon---Flame!" Talonflame roared, spreading its wings majestically in a powerful manner. Serena looked quizzingly at Talonflame, not connecting the dots yet.
"That's brilliant Ash! Talonflame has the flame body ability. Now it can help with hatching the eggs much faster!" Nurse Joy commented.
"Exactly what I thought!" Ash agreed. "Now Talonflame, you know what to do!" Ash smiled excitedly at his fire bird. Talonflame nodded and flew over to the eggs. It wrapped both of his wings around the two eggs and then a fiery aura surrounded Talonflame at it emitted a lot of heath.
Now, the eggs started to glow brightly. "Good, it won't take much longer now!" Nurse Joy commented, looking at the screen with all her data on it.
As if it was right on cue, the eggs glowed even brighter. Talonflame released its wings from the eggs and flew over to Ash. Ash held his arm forward, so that Talonflame could land on it. "Thanks Talonflame, good job!" Ash said to his loyal, Kalos regional bird.
Both eggs started to expand in size and started forming. While Ash's egg became longer, it gained three claws at the end of its body.
The other egg however changed in form completely. It gained a head, a tail and four legs appeared from it. The light stopped glowing and the pokemon revealed itself.
"Dum---!" "Sol!" Both pokemon cried out. Ash and Serena looked at the two pokemon with a open mouth smile. "Awesome!" They yelled. Both of them took out their Rotom phone and scanned their pokemon.
Ash aimed at it at the first pokemon. "Beldum, the Iron Ball pokemon. A Steel and Psychic type pokemon. It is believed that Beldum uses the magnetic force at the end of its body to lure in its prey. Then, it skewers it with its sharp claws."
Serena aimed her white Rotom phone at the other pokemon. "Absol, the Disaster pokemon. A Dark Type pokemon. It is said that, whenever an Absol shows itself to the people, a disaster is about to happen. Therefore, most people believe it to be a cursed pokemon."
Hearing the description of Absol, Serena looked at it in a sad manner and walked over to it. She stroked her palm over the head of the pokemon. "Don't believe what it said, how could a cute and beautiful pokemon like you cause bad things." She smiled at it. Absol looked at Serena in a hopeful manner with shining eyes. "Ab- Absol!" Absol chanted as it started to lick her face. "S-Stop it!" Serena laughed loudly but the new born Absol kept showing its affection for its new trainer.
Ash looked at Beldum and walked over to it. He put his hand on top of the Steel type's head. "Hey Beldum, to me, you look like an awesome pokemon. I hope we can become great friends and get strong together." He said in a passionate and determined voice. "Dum! Beldum!" It chanted happily as it's eyes looked at Ash in a smiling manner.
Ash was happy to have a Beldum. Except for Noctowl, which came the closest of being a Psychic type, this was the first ever Psychic type he owned. Not to mention that it had an amazing potential.
Then, both Ash and Serena noticed something. Absol's face and horn were pink coloured instead of the usual black. And Beldum was white, with golden claws.
"It's very rare to see a shiny pokemon. But seeing two hatch at the same time has never happened before. You could call yourself fortunate, y'know." Nurse Joy commented.
Both Ash and Serena nodded gratefully at her before turning back to their new pokemon.
"It seems both are in perfect health. You can take them with you if you want." Nurse Joy added smilingly.
"Alright! Now, let's catch them, what do you say Serena?" Ash said excitedly while looking over at Serena who smiled at him. "Sure! Absol, I hope we can become a great team! Let's work together from now on okay?" She spoke as she unclipped a pokeball and gently pressed the button against Absol's head. Absol closed its eyes, waiting for it to hit it but it was gently. She got sucked into the pokeball and the button on it started to flash red a few times.
"Beldum! Together, you, me, Pikachu, Lucario and Talonflame, and don't forget Serena and Absol, together we'll conquer the world and show everyone how amazing you are! Are you ready to overcome every obstacle by our side?" Ash said soothingly to the Iron Ball pokemon. "Dum! Beldum!" Beldum screeched happily. Then, Ash took out a pokeball and just like Serena, he tapped it gently on Beldum's head. Just like Absol, Beldum got sucked into it and the button flashed red.
After flashing a few times, a *DING* sound could be heard, indicating that the capture was successful. "Alright! I caught a Beldum!" Ash yelled, throwing his hand, containing the pokeball into the air. "Pi-pikachu!" "Rrah!!" "Talon!" The three pokemon added, cheering aswell.
"And I've got an Absol! And it's all mine!" Serena held her pokeball forward with both of her hands, like presenting it to someone. Ash smiled straight her. "Good for you Serena!"
"Thanks Ash." She replied gratefully before releasing Absol from its pokeball. Ash did the same with Beldum. Both pokemon appeared infront of their trainers. Absol was due to being just born, still a small pokemon. Both Absol and Beldum were infront of eachother and chanted happily together.
"Being born at the same time, they already show that they've got a brotherly/sisterly bond together." Nurse Joy smiled at the two young ones. Then, she turned to Ash and Serena. "Take good care of them and make sure you'll protect them. Shiny pokemon are rare but a Beldum and Absol are exceptionally rare."
"You can count on us Nurse Joy!" Serena nodded to her. "We'll take care of them like they are our own children!" Ash clenched his fist determinedly. Serena looked at Ash with a blush on her face. Kids with Ash? It sure was a dream for her and hearing him say something like this did catch her of guard. She looked at the two pokemon who were playing with Pikachu. She could imagine it already. Holding her future son or daughter while Ash sat beside her, hugging her and their baby.
"Uhh Serena? Are you okay?" Ash asked her in confusion. She didn't know she was drooling but immediately snapped out of her thoughts, hearing Ash's voice speak to her. "Y-yeah! I'm fine!" She squealed. Her face had become even redder in embarrassement.
"Okay... if you say so..." Ash murmured, looking at her suspiciously. Then, he turned to Nurse Joy. "Thanks for everything you've done for us Nurse Joy!" He thanked her gratefully. "Yeah! We couldn't have done it without you!" Serena added with a smile.
"That's nonsense, you would've done perfectly fine without my help!" Nurse Joy retorted, waving her hand like it was nothing.
Ash turned to Serena. "Let's get back, we've still got a lot of things to do, don't we?" He asked her. "Yeah! And now with Beldum and Absol, it will be even more fun!" She agreed. "But first, let's get you back home. Staraptor, Unfezant and Swellow can't grow lazy, can they?" Ash grinned at Talonflame. "Talon---Flame!" Talonflame chirped happily.
Ash returned Talonflame back to its pokeball and went over to a transfer machine. He dialed his mom and sent Talonflame back. After a small talk with her and Serena, introducing Beldum and Absol to her aswell, they left the pokemon center and went back to their hotelroom.
Ash looked at the time. 11.00 AM, he read. "We've got like an hour before we go to Mallow's family restaurant for lunch. I'd say let's sit back and relax a bit." He suggested, looking over at Serena as he sat down on the sofa.
Lucario, Pikachu and Beldum were already released from their pokeballs, just like Pancham, Delphox, Sylveon, Altaria, Absol and Deerling. After introducing themselves to the new members of their family, Pikachu, Deerling, Pancham, Beldum and Absol started playing.
Sylveon smiled at them. She had a few times where she found herself staring at Pikachu but luckily for her, Pikachu was too busy playing. Delphox and Altaria decided to close their eyes for a moment, enjoying the peacefulness.
"Sure!" Serena said, sitting down next to Ash on the sofa with her chest against his shoulder. She laid her head in his neck and wrapped her arms around his other shoulder. She let out a satisfied sigh. "I'm so happy right now." She said softly.
"Yeah, me too." Ash sighed happily. He placed his hand on her cheek and gave her a soft kiss. "Especially with you here." He wispered, breaking apart from the kiss.
They cuddled a bit more as they watched TV. Suddenly a news report appeared on it. There was a woman standing infront of a large, round building. It looked like a building where large amounts of people gathered to watch shows or something.
"Greetings people of Alola! My name is Elizabeth and today I can finally announce Alola's first upcoming contest! With a lot of help from the man standing next to me, Professor Kukui and his students, we finally managed to get the entertainment which is so popular in Hoenn and Sinnoh, here in Alola!" The reporter said in a cheery voice. Ash and Serena watched it with loads of interest, closely listening to what the reported was explained.
"That's right! We got inspired when we were watching some contest performances from last year in Hoenn during one of our classes!" Kukui said as a small part of a contest was shown on TV. Ash and Serena gasped at what they saw. "Serena! That's you!" Ash grinned widely at her. Serena didn't turn her eyes from the tv at all, watching how she executed a move. She remembered that performance. It was the contest that she won in order to win her fifth and final ribbon in order to participate in the Grand Festival.
"So professor, when are we finally able to see this event start?" The reporter named Elizabeth asked. "I'm glad that you're asking! In three days, the contest will start." He explained. They continued talking a bit more while Ash turned to Serena.
"That's our final day in Alola. What do you say? Wanna compete?"
Serena looked at Ash, taken aback. Then, she smiled competitively. "Ofcourse! More than ever!" She smiled determinedly. She loved her performances but contests were just as much fun. It was also a way to get closer to her dream, making as much people smile as she could.
"Great! Let's tell professor Kukui as soon as we've had our lunch!" He said, standing up and taking Serena's hand. He pulled her into his grip and lifted her into the air. "Ash!" Serena shouted in panic from his sudden actions.
"To Alola's first Queen!" He shouted happily before putting her back down again. Serena giggled and hugged him tightly. "We'll have to see that first, don't we?"
"No need, I know you'll win!" He grinned at her. "Now! Who's in for some lunch!?" He yelled, looking at the pokemon. They all cried out, matching Ash's energy. Serena giggled. When it came to food, even her own pokemon were as loud as Ash. He had an effect on all of them, maybe he had the most effect on herself. She could see so many things that she picked up from his positivity and she wouldn't deny that it made her much stronger than she was when she started her journey to find him. Now, three, almost four years later, she couldn't be happier to see how things turned out.
"Alright! Let's get some lunch!" Serena cheered happily along.
Meanwhile over at Akala Island, near the peak of Wela Vulcano.
*BOOOOOM*
A gigantic ball of fire smashed into the rocky side of the volcano. Smoke rose up and when it dissapeared, it revealed a ginormous crater into the mountain side of it.
"Good job Turtonator." Said the shirtless, red-haired boy. It was Kiawe who had a serious look on his face. Sweat was dripping all over his body. He was also covered with some marks of injury.
"Tuurtonatoorr---." Exclaimed the Blast Turtle pokemon, looking over its shoulder, facing its trainer. It was breathing heavily as it just had performed a Z-move.
Kiawe took a step forward, standing infront of Turtonator who stood behind him. Then, two shadowy figures appeared. It revealed to be his loyal Charizard and Marowak, covered in the same injury marks as Kiawe and Turtonator.
Another set of three shadows slowly appeared into sight but it wasn't possible to make out what they were.
Kiawe clenched his fist infront of his chest. "We're ready." He murmured under his breath as his pokemon let out a cry in agreement. "Watch out Ash. Soon, I'll take the title of Alolan Champion from you!"
Narrator: Now, with a new born Absol and Beldum at Ash and Serena's disposal and Kiawe preparing to challenge Ash for the title of Alolan Champion, what will happen as our heroes journeys continues? Stay tuned...
