His hand inches toward my stomach. I cant control the smile growing on my face.
"What?" I question.
"We're gonna be parents." The excitement in his voice melts me.
"Oh my god," I say, my eyes welling with tears. In one quick movement, I'm facing Grey. Our hips touching.
"Wait how far along would that make me?" I ask, sniffling.
"I don't know. We've had a lot of sex." Grey laughs, as I lean my head into his chest.
"Grey," I let out a deep breath. "This isn't just going to affect us."
"What do you mean?"
"We have two separate companies, who are technically still rivals. This is going to cause, a lot, of problems."
"Hey, listen okay? I'm not going to let this affect anything. Not you and me, not KlineCo and WrightLen, nothing."
"You don't know that Grey. We don't know how terribly wrong this could go. " My voice raises.
"Or how right it could go. There isn't always one side to every situation Eva."
"I know that. I just want what's best, for everyone."
"And what's best for everyone is not letting a company rivalry break us apart."
I rub my hands down his chest. He tenses as I touch him. I sneak my hand under his shirt, feeling for his heart.
"What are you doing?" His hand grasps my wrist, stopping me.
"I just want to know if your heart is beating as fast as mine right now."
"I can promise you it is love."
"Are you scared?" The question itches in my brain.
"Of what?"
"Having a child? Like knowing that this could most definitely be actually happening, and we could be parents?"
"Oh absolutely- But I wouldn't want to go through it with anyone else." He gently cups my cheek.
"I wouldn't either."
