Daryll's POV
Well here we are... hiding in a cave along with Hogsworth... who had recently broken us out...
This is as boring as heck...
"Let me guess," Hogsworth said. "You're bored."
I glared at him. "Of course I am!"
"Well, you didn't have to be rude about it," he grumbled, before tossing us some digital screen.
"What the hell is this?" I asked.
"Dunno," he said. "I stole it."
"It's dark..." Dexter whimpered.
"You're a full grown adult," Hogsworth snorted. "And you're afraid of the AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
Dexter had chucked a knife at him.
While Hogsworth was sobbing, Dexter audibly sighed as she came over to join me.
"I wish Azura was here," I said. "She'd at least know how this works."
"...I think you're supposed to press the "on" button," Dexter said.
Shit, she's right.
"I knew that," I quickly said, clicking the button.
A little image of a koala popped up.
"What?" Dexter whispered.
I was confused as well, so I tapped the koala, wondering what the hell was it supposed to symbolize.

What?!
I opened my mouth to say something, but before I could process anything...
A bright light filled up the entire cave.
And then I died.
The end.
Just kidding.
But it did suck us into another dimension.
"Oh my god!" I said. "Are we dead?"
"No," Dexter replied. "I think the machine wanted to show us something.
We looked around, we were floating above this strange world, where a small boy, no older than eight, was walking around.
He walked up to a tall muscular man.
HIIII! I'M LOOKING FOR MAH FAVOURITE KOALA BEAR!" He said.
"DO I LOOK I GIVE A SHIT ABOUT YOUR KOALA?!" The man asked.
Silence.
Then all of a sudden, the little boy beheaded the older man.
"Holy sh-" I swore.
Then a portal opened up and a thirteen year old girl appeared out of nowhere. Looking around in concern until she saw the young boy.
"Oliver!" She exclaimed. "There you are! What are you doing?"
"TORTURE TIME!"The boy shouted.
"Oh that's cool!" The girl said. "Come on! Let's go find your koala bear!"
The two walked through the portal.
"Wait come back!" Dexter shouted, as she floated after the two.
I quickly chased after Dexter, because I was not going to miss anything.
"Hey Blaze!"
A fifteen year old russet hair boy looked up. He was tall for his age, and something told me he would get even taller as he got older.
"So you found Oliver," Blaze said, nodding at the little boy.
"Yep!" The girl said, saluting.
"No sign of the koala," Blaze sighed.
There was a pause while the two older kids pondered over this.
"Oliver," Blaze said. "Where did you last see your koala?"
"Um... from the town that we just left!" Oliver replied excitedly.
Silence.
"What?!" The girl exclaimed. "We just left that area like twenty minutes ago!"
Blaze placed a hand on the girl's shoulder. "Relax Rieka ," he said. "Let's just go get Oliver's koala bear."
Rieka nodded. "Okay!"
A new portal opened up and the three hopped into it.
Sure enough, the koala bear was laying down about ten feet away.
"My koala bear!" Oliver said, running towards the stuffed toy.
"Wait!" Rieka shouted after the boy. "It's a trap!"
Suddenly a dark purple hand appeared and slapped Rieka and Blaze away.
"What is that thing?!" Dexter screamed.
I stared at the hand with equal horror, as it stared at the eight year boy.
"̶̡̠̪̍H̵̘̟̎̐e̵͎̼͆̕r̸̲̘̉̈́̅o̶̺̝̐.̵̩̅̑͝.̶̧̛͔̀͊.̴̗̱̎̕͝"̵̩̉̃ the hand whispered, before grabbing Oliver.
"No Ollie!" Rieka screamed, running towards the boy.
The hand slapped Rieka away, and she crashed into a wall.
"Guardians?" Oliver asked. "What's happening?"
Then he let out a horrified scream of agony as red lightning shot through his body.
The two guardians stared off in horror as the little boy was being killed.
"No!" Blaze screamed. "We can't let the kid die!"
And with that he yeeted Rieka towards the hand, who pulled out a diamond sword, ready to stab the hand.
The hand merely knocked Rieka away from Oliver and the girl crashed into Blaze.
The two guardians were unconscious, having been knocked out.
"DEXTER!" I shouted. "WE HAVE TO HELP THEM!"
I started to float towards the fight, but Dexter stopped me.
"We can't..." she said.
"No..." I said quietly as we continued to watch the scene.
Slowly, the two guardians began to lose their features, as the boy started to die.
"̵̻̗̑̌͑H̴̨̤͗̌̃é̸͎̄ļ̸͉̽p̵̤͕̑.̶̧̎.̸̹͔̰̑.̵̤̒̀"̷̱͋̈́
Then the boy collapsed, his giant cracks crippled his features, his eyes dissolved... nothing of him remained.
"OLIVER!!!" Rieka shrieked.
Blaze walked over to check the boy's pulse, but there was no point in doing so,
"He's... dead," Blaze said quietly.
"N-NO! IT CAN'T BE!" Rieka cried. "THERE WAS SO MUCH WE STILL WANTED TO DO TOGETHER!"
She yanked out a diamond sword and glared at the hand. "WHY CAN'T YOU UNDERSTAND!!! KILLING US WON'T FIX WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU!!!"
The hand tried grabbing the small girl, however her friend pulled her out of the way in time.
"There's no purpose in doing that!" He scolded her. "We failed our hero, and with him dead, this world is going to fall apart!"
Sure enough, the corruption was spreading across the world.
"Holy shit..." Dexter swore under her breath.
I couldn't say anything, it happened too fast, and I knew that this world was no more.
Rieka wasn't giving up just yet though.
"But we can't let that monster get away with this!" She protested.
Silence.
"He won't."
Blaze turned towards the hand.
"Leave him to me," he said. "You go get as many civilians as you can and get out of here!"
Rieka looked horrified at this comment.
"But..." she protested weakly. "You said wee need to stick together-"
"JUST GO!!!" Blaze shouted at her, before dodging one of the hand's attacks.
As Blaze drew out a diamond axe and charged, Rieka ran away crying, looking back as her friend fought this beast.
A flash of light surrounded us before another scene took place, Rieka was evacuating everyone, getting them through the portal.
"GET IN IF YOU WANT TO LIVE!" She yelled.
Most... got in.
Except for that one memer who just yelled "YOLO!" And jumped right into the fire.
Rieka scanned around the area as if to check for any survivors, but it was clear what she was looking for.
Her best friend.
When he didn't appear, Rieka let out a choked sob as she turned around...
And saw Blaze's body dangling in front of her.
Rieka let out a scream, as a shadow loomed over her.
Turning around slowly, Rieka saw the hand, as it grabbed her and slowly spikes pierced through her body.
"Oh god..." I whispered as Dexter closed her eyes.
Then I saw the boy... lift his hand up to reveal a stopwatch. "You may have won the battle," he croaked out. "But... you haven't won the war."
And with that he used the stopwatch...
And time stopped...
But the boy and girl turned into dust.
It was a horrifying scene... and before we knew it, we were thrown out of the flashback and into the real world.
Dexter collapsed and I held onto her, trying to keep her steady.
What was that thing?
