Narrator: It's an early friday morning as Serena was peacefully asleep in her bed. Little did she know that a certain raven haired surprise was on his way to wake her up.
"We gotta stay quiet Pikachu." Ash wispered to his yellow buddy as both of them tip toe'd into Serena's room. Ash looked at Serena as she calmly in- and exhaled with every now and then a cute tiny snore. Slowly but surely both Ash and Pikachu made it over to the side of Serena's bed.
Ash looked at her. She looks so cute while sleeping. Especially those little snores. Do I really need to wake her up? Ash thought to himself.
"Pika." Pikachu said angrily in a low voice, trying not to wake Serena up while slapping his tail against Ash's shinbone. "Ow!" Ash muffled as he started to rub the exact spot Pikachu hit him.
"I'm sorry buddy..." Ash said sweatdropping before he returned his gaze to the sleeping Serena. "Now how do we wake her up..?" Ash thought out loud. Pikachu had a lightbulb moment and jumped on Serena's bed at the end of her feet.
"Pikaaaaa--" Pikachu started chanting as electricity started sparking from his cheeks. "No Pikachu!" Ash said as he grabbed his fellow partner quickly before he could shock Serena. Pikachu's cheeks stopped sparking and looked at Ash with a confused look.
"You should know better than to use Thunderbolt on anyone. Especially to the one who always makes those sweet treats for you." Ash scolded softly while Pikachu looked at him, rubbing the back of his head nervously with a guilty look on his face.
Ash sighed briefly in relief before putting his gaze back on Serena. Happy she didn't wake up from all the shenanigans. "Now let's see..."
Suddenly a lightbulb popped op in Ash's mind as a mischievious grin appeared on his face. "I know exacly how we're gonna do it Pikachu." Ash smirked as he took two party poppers from his pocket which he brought with him earlier.
Pikachu saw what Ash was planning and cheered. Ash carefully handed one over to Pikachu before he said. "Ok Pikachu, on the count of three. 1... 2... 3!"
*POP* *POP*
Both party poppers exploded open and some shot out of if. Serena's eyes popped open and she sat up straight immediately. "WHAT! WHERE, WHO!" Serena yelled in confusion before she saw Ash and Pikachu. "Pikachu...? Ash...?" She exclaimed after rubbing her eyes for a moment to make sure she wasn't seeing things.
"Happy Birthday!" "PikaPi--!" Both Ash and Pikachu yelled with wide smiles on their faces while holding their hands in the air. Slowly but surely, a smile started to form on Serena's face as she took the two in a giant hug, pulling them half over her bed. "Thank you both!" Serena said gratefully before planting a kiss on Ash's cheek.
"But this is not all!" Ash said, smiling as he pulled away. "Lucario! It's time buddy!" Ash shouted and from the door appeared the Aura pokemon with a tray in his paws, wearing a happy smile. "RRah!" He exclaimed as he walked over.
On the tray was a glass filled with milk and there were a couple plates with eggs, bacon and pancakes. Serena looked on in disbelief. "Y-You made breakfast--- For me?" She said as she glanced towards Ash while a smile grew on her face.
"To be perfectly honest, your mom made it. We're here to wake you up and deliver it." Ash chuckled as he sat down beside her while scratching the back of his head in a silly manner.
"Thank you! All of you!" Serena said gratefully before hugging Ash once more. Pikachu got off Serena's lap and climbed on Lucario's shoulder who managed to balance the tray as Pikachu's weight slightly made him move down to his right, not expecting the sudden move.
Serena backed up a bit so she could lean her back against the wall and sit up a bit more comfortable and Lucario placed the tray carefully on her lap. Serena looked at the food as hot steam rose up from the eggs, bacon and pancakes as the smell slowly made it's way to her nose.
Serena started eating while chatting with Ash. Every now and then Serena scratched Pikachu behind his ear, making him coo while Lucario leaned against the wall with it's eyes closed, enjoying the relaxed vibe in the room.
When Serena was done eating, Ash took the tray from her and stood up from the bed. "Now you go and prepare yourself, I'll be downstairs k?" Ash said in a soothing tone while smiling. Serena nodded slightly as she let go of Ash's hand.
Pikachu jumped back on Ash's shoulder before he, Ash and Lucario left Serena alone. Serena stood up from her bed and stretched herself. She stepped into the bathroom and twisted the knob as she stepped under the shower. Steaming hot water streamed down her body as she thought of the day ahead. I wonder what present Ash got for me. I can't wait! She thought.
After a good couple of minutes, she turned the shower off and dressed up for the day. She went to her room to do her make up before heading downstairs.
As soon as Ash heard the crunches from the stairs as Serena walked down, he looked up from his phone where he was looking up some stuff with Pikachu on his lap who was watching with him.
"Pi-Pikachu!" Pikachu exclaimed as he ran towards the stairs and jumped straight in Serena's arms, catching her by surprise. "Hi Pikachu! Hi Mom! Hi Ash!" Serena said as she entered the kitchen.
"Happy birthday dear!" Grace said in soothing tone while giving her daughter a warm hug. "Did you like your breakfast?"
"Ofcourse! It was perfect! Especially the delivery!" Serena said with a massive smile while winking towards Ash at the last part. Ash just casually smiled, he was glad to see her happy.
"Now for your birthday present." Grace said as she seperated from the hug. Grace grabbed a medium sized box from the kitchen table and handed it to Serena. It was wrapped in pink with a red string to keep the paper in place.
Serena looked in curiousity while smiling as she took the box from her mother's hands. She unwrapped the paper and opened the box. Her eyes popped as she saw what was inside the box. "Mom... This is--- Beautiful..." She muttered.
Both Grace and Ash grinned at eachother happily before returning their gaze on Serena. "Glad you like it dear. Try it on please!" Grace said.
"Okay!" Serena said as she quickly ran up the stairs with the box in her hands. A couple minutes she came back down. "How do I look?" She asked while winking.
"I-I-Incredible..." Ash stuttered, completely stunned by her appearance. "Aww, thanks Ash!" Serena said as she ran up to him and hugged him tightly.
"You look beautiful Serena." Grace said as she studied the dress once more. "But mom, how did you know I would like this one?" Serena asked in a confused manner.
Grace sweatdropped. "Well, I went shopping last week with Delia. We found two dresses, a blue one and this one. I chose the one which I didn't like the most, like you always do." Grace explained.
"Aww mom... You're the best!" Serena exclaimed as she ran up to her and hugged her aswell. "Serena, about my gift for you..." Ash started as Serena turned to him with a wide smile on her face and sparkles in her eyes. "You'll get it later when the others are here too k?" Ash finished.
"Sure! But I'll change back now and then we go to school!" Serena said as she started to run up the stairs once again. Both Ash and Grace chuckled at eachother, knowing their mission was accomplished.
A little while later Serena came back down in her usual outfit with her pink bagpack on her back. "Ready!" She exclaimed happily. "Let's go then!" Ash said as he extended his hand towards her and Pikachu jumped on his shoulder while Lucario walked over to Ash aswell.
Serena grabbed Ash's hand before walking towards the door with him. "Bye mom!" "Bye Grace!" Both Ash and Serena said in unison as they opened the door and walked out. "Bye kids, have fun!" Grace shouted back at them right before the door closed.
Back outside, Ash smiled at Serena. "Now, do you want to walk to school or fly? I know you hate it when you're hair gets messy." Ash asked. Serena thought for a moment. A walk with Ash alone except for his pokemon or flying. A morning view of Lumiose city from the sky ain't bad either. She thought, supporting her chin with her indexfinger. "Which pokemon do you have with you who can fly us to school?" She asked first before making her choice.
"Look for yourself." Ash exclaimed confidently as he unclipped a pokeball from his belt and threw it into the air.
"Starrrr--!" Exclaimed the massive bird pokemon that stood infront of them. It was a grayish-brown in colour. It had small, red eyes and a thin, yellow beak with a black tip. There was a circular white patch on its forehead, which is smaller on the female. Larger white markings cover the front of it's throat and chest, separated by a black ruff encircling the shoulders. A red-tipped, black crest extends over its head, nearly reaching the tip of its beak. Iy had a large comb which it used to appear larger and to frighten it's enemies. It had large wings, five black-tipped tail feathers, and yellow feet with black talons. It's powerful wing and leg muscles allowed it to fly effortlessly while carrying humans or Pokémon.
Serena's eyes sparkled as she saw the majestic pokemon infront of her. "Ash, Let's fly to school!" She said in a determined and commanding tone while she couldn't shake the excitement off her.
"Okay then. Staraptor, is it good with you?" Ash asked his Predator Pokemon. "Star--Staraptor--!" Staraptor exlcaimed as it spread it wings wide, showing off his might and power. Ash just chuckled. "Good you're excited buddy! I'll get you involved in a battle again soon. Promise!" Ash said while clenching his fist while walking up to Staraptor. He stood beside his big friend and petted him on his wing, causing Staraptor to chirp in gleefulness.
Ash climbed up on Staraptor's back before he stretched a hand out to Serena who took it gladly climbed up, sitting down right behind Ash, wrapping her arms tightly around his waist. Unfortunately, there wasn't any room for Lucario to sit but Ash had thought of that.
"Come on out buddy!" Ash yelled as he threw another pokeball into the air, revealing Talonflame. "Talon---Flame--!" Talonflame exclaimed as he, just like Staraptor spread his wings. "Thanks Master." Lucario replied through aura as he gave Ash a satisfied nod. Ash instructed Talonflame to carry Pikachu and Lucario who happily agreed. Talonflame loved to some extra exercise and with some extra weight added made it even better for the Scorching Pokemon.
What normally was a half hour walk, was now just a 5 minute flight thanks to Staraptor and Talonflame. However Ash and Serena took the long route so that they could do some sightseeing from the air. "There Ash! Prism tower really looks beatiful at sunrise, especially from this view!" Serena exclaimed in an admiring tone. Ash could only smile at her. He enjoyed every single moment of it.
A few moments later they touched down on the ground. They used the battlefield located in the school premises. Ash hopped off first and when Serena was about to get off Staraptor, she yelped as she lost her balance. Luckely Ash managed to catch her by grabbing her by her waist.

"You okay?" Ash asked in a concerned manner. "Y-Yeah-- thanks." Serena said, sighing in relief before giving Ash a brief peck on his cheek. Both Pikachu and Lucario landed safely on the ground. They we're used to jumping from higher places.
Ash thanked both Talonflame and Staraptor before he returned them to their pokeballs. Both Ash and Serena looked around the premises, seeing a few students walking by. "Looks like we're early." Ash said. "Yeah, atleast we can spend some time together before the others get here." Serena winked.
Ash smiled. "Let's go over to that three and sit there, what do you say?" He suggested, pointing to a large tree on top of a small hill on the school premises. "Sounds good!" Serena smiled.
Ash sat down first, leaning his back against the three, Pikachu laid down on Ash's lap, curling up and closing his eyes while Lucario climbed in the three and sat down on one of the bigger branches. Serena sat down, leaning her back half against the three and half against Ash's side while he wrapped his arm around her shoulder. Both of them had their eyes closed, enjoying the peaceful silence.
It wasn't for long before Gary, Shauna, Misty and Brock appeared. "Hey guys, congratulations with your birthday Serena!" They all said in unison. Both Ash and Serena looked up. "Thanks guys!" Serena greeted them back. Both Ash and Serena stood up and they started to talk among eachother until May, Dawn, Iris, Cilan and Clemont joined them and congratulated her aswell.
"Let's go to class now guys, otherwise miss Juniper is gonna yell at us all day." Dawn chuckled with the others following. During the first two lessons, nothing really happened. After some time it was lunchbreak and the gang sat down at a round table in the cafeteria with ofcourse, Serena taking her seat on Ash's lap.
"Guys! Are you all coming to my place after school?" Serena asked, wanting to know if they all came for her birthday. "We'll be there!" May and Dawn said in unison. "And we'll come too!" Misty added while elbowing Brock softly. "That's right!" Brock grunted.
"We'll come too but a bit later. I've got to update Drayden about my training while Cilan has a few things to discuss with his brothers about the gym." Iris explained. "That's right, Cress and Chili wanted to talk about some stuff, we'll join you guys after though!" Cilan added.
"And for me, I've got a challenger but after that, I'm there too!" Clemont said. Ash smiled. "Then it's settled!" He exclaimed, clenching his fist.
"Not to drop the mood but did you guys hear that Calem's returning to school on monday?" Gary asked in a serious manner.
"No?" When did you hear this Gary? It can't be true!" Brock asked in a curious tone.
"It is." Ash said, causing him to become the center of attention. "We saw him at Professor Sycamore's lab before we went over to you Clemont, earlier this week.
The girls had a shocked expression on their faces while Gary, Brock, Cilan and Clemont held a straight face. They knew what Ash and Serena went through with him. "We've made peace though. He seems to have learned." Serena added.
"We'll I don't trust him!" Misty said firmly while looking away and crossing her hands. "I hope you guys know what you're doing." Brock added. May and Dawn nodded at eachother. "We'll keep a close eye on him for you guys!" Dawn said confidently. "Yeah! No one gets in the way of our favourite couple!" May added, clenching her fist.
"Thanks Guys!" Serena said in an appriciative tone. Furthermore they talked about various things like that it was friday and that they had a couple lessons to go. May made a sleepy face as she was tired of the schoolweek. Also they talked about Ash's gym battle he would be having during the weekend.
A couple hours later, Ash and Serena, accompanied by Gary and Shauna walked back towards Vaniville Town together. Gary and Shauna agreed on helping with setting up everything.
"Mom! We're home!" Serena called as she opened the front door. "Hi dear! How was school?" Grace asked as she saw the four of them enter the house. "It was great mom! Also, Gary and Shauna agreed to help us set up everything for when the others come!" Serena exclaimed excitedly. "That's right!" Shauna added, smiling.
"Great! I already started preparing the cake and other desserts. Shauna, could you give me a hand?" Grace asked the brown haired teenager. "Sure mrs. Yvonne!" Shauna said as she followed Grace into the kitchen.
"Come on guys!" Serena said as she took Ash and Gary's hands and started dragging them to the backyard. "The weather is sure nice out here, good choice of doing it here Serena." Ash commented.
"Right!" Serena said, smilimg. Shall we get started?" She asked, looking at the two Kantonians. "Sure!" Ash replied as he threw his four pokeballs into the air.
"Rrraptor--!" "Ffflame---" Both Staraptor and Talonflame exclaimed, spreading their wings wide in an attempt to show off their power.
"Pig-Pignite-!" "Rroar-!" Both Pignite and Incineroar exclaimed as they flexed their muscles. Both Pikachu and Lucario made it over to them and stood beside them, ready to take orders.
"Smart idea Ash! Sylveon, Pancham, Altaria and Delphox! Come on out!" Serena yelled as she released the four pokemon who materialized right next to Ash's.
"What about you Gary?" Ash asked curiously. "Uhh--- I've only got Umbreon on me..." Gary sweatdropped. He grabbed the pokeball and released it. "Umbreon, help us out!" He shouted and Umbreon landed right beside Ash and Serena's pokemon.
"Let's see..." Serena said, putting her index finger under her chin as she was deep in thought. "Got it! Pignite and Incineroar, could you place the tables over there and there?" Serena said, pointing to two locations right beside eachother. Both pokemon cried out in agreement before they got to work.
"Altaria, Staraptor and Talonflame, since you three can fly, can you hang the garlands around this place?" Serena said to the flying types. They also chirped in agreement and started working.
"Lucario and Pancham, Can you two get the bowls for the pokemon food?" Serena asked. "Pancham-pan!" Pancham exclaimed before running back into the house. "Ofcourse mistress." Lucario said through aura which Serena learned to understand now before he walked away in Pancham's direction.
Sylveon, Delphox and Umbreon, can you help me decorate the tables and Pikachu can you get my music box so we can have some music here?" Serena asked the pokemon.
All four of the pokemon nodded. Both Ash and Gary were bewildered how well Serena handled all the pokemon. "Are you two gonna stand there all day or help out?" Serena said in a sarcastic tone, snapping them out of their trance. Both Ash and Gary shook their heads once before helping too.
After half an hour, everyone was finally done. Then Grace and Shauna walked into the garden with trays full of treats for humans and pokemon alike.
"Now everything is finally ready." Serena sighed as she wiped the sweat of her forehead. "I'll change up and I'll be right back. Serena said as she walked off towards the house.
Suddenly she heard the gate next to the house, towards the backyard opening. May, Dawn, Brock and Misty walked through it and greeted everyone. It didn't take long before everyone was present.
"Hi guys! Glad you could all come!" Serena said as she finally came back from the house and everyone dropped their jaws while Grace and Ash just smiled they had seen her like this already. Serena was wearing the dress she'd got from her. "What do you think of the dress I got from my mom?" She asked with her eyes closed while smiling brightly.
"So cute!" May and Dawn squealed. "I want one too!" Shauna shouted. Gary, Brock, Iris, Cilan and Clemont on the other hand gave her some compliments on how great she looked. Trevor and Tierno were present too and Trevor wanted to take a picture of her and Ash together who agreed on it. Tierno had hearts dancing in his eyes and almost wanted to make his move until, thanks to Shauna, he remembered she was Ash's.
"Now let me give me your present!" Shauna exclaimed happily as she took out a small box wrapped with a bow up top. Serena took it and unwrapped it. She opened the box which revealed a pair of beautiful pink coloured earrings. "Thank you Shauna!" Serena exclaimed, hugging her best friend tightly.
Gary followed, giving her a pair of red heels which he got with Shauna's help. One by one they all gave their presents until Ash was left. Everybody looked at Ash in curiosity. "Ash you do have something for me-- Right?" Serena asked in a sad manner as she looked to the ground.
"Ofcourse I have! But it isn't here yet..." Ash said, sweating. Ash checked his phone and as luck would have it, Delia sent him a text message. "Greninja is on his way." He read.
Ash celebrated in his thoughts as Greninja jumped right next to Ash out of nowhere, leaving some shocked expressions on everyone's faces.
"You got it buddy?" Ash asked, hopeful. "Gren--!" Greninja said nodding as he pulled out a envulope. Ash carefully took it and looked at Serena. "Serena---?" Ash started.
She looked at his in a curious manner. "Here's my present." Ash said as he walked over to her and handed her the envelope. Serena looked curiously at the envulope, thinking about all the possibilities of what could be inside.
She opened it and what she saw next made her face lit up with a massive smile. Inside the envulope were two tickets. "I promised to take you to Alola once, didn't I?" Ash chuckled.
Serena's smile grew even larger as she ran up to Ash and hugged him tightly. "This is great!" She squealed. May, Dawn, Shauna, Misty, Brock, Clemont, Gary, Tierno, Trevor and Grace looked on, softly smiling at the couple. "We'll go after the school tournament, during the break." Ash added, making Serena squeeze only tighter.
"But-- that's not all." Ash said. Serena broke away from the hug and looked curiously at her boyfriend. Ash grabbed a small box from his pocket. He grabbed Serena's hand and placed the box in it. Serena unwrapped the bow and oped the box. Her face lit up once more as she looked in disbelief at what was inside of the box. "Ash---" She muttered. She took out the bracelet with a keystone attached in the middle. The same keystone Ash found in the cave where he battled the aura Lucario.
"I bought it for you when Gary and I went to Shalure City. I found the keystone on Mega Island." Ash explained. Serena took out what was next to the bracelet. There was a necklace with a mega stone on it. "I asked professor Sycamore about it and he told me it's an Altarianite." Ash added.
Serena lost the ability to talk at this point, completely taken aback by what Ash just gave her. "W-What do you think Serena? This is my present for you." Ash said in a nervous manner. Serena looked Ash in his eyes as her eyes sparkled. Within a flash, she jumped in Ash's arms, wrapping her legs around his waist and arms around his neck, kissing him.
"This is the present I could've asked for!" She squealed. Ash chuckled while he wrapped his arms around her, holding her tightly. "Hey!" Gary shouted. "Where did you find that mega stone and why didn't you tell me and Korrina?" Gary asked with a slight frustrated expression.
Ash turned his head sideways to Gary, breaking the gaze he and Serena had on eachother. Ash smiled. "I found it on the beach in the sand on our way back to the gym. And why I didn't tell you? You wouldn't be able to keep your mouth shut. So that gave me no option to tell Korrina either." Ash replied. Gary grunted and everyone started laughing while Ash just stared back in the happy eyes of his girlfriend who was still in his arms. "Happy birthday Serena." He said in a low voice once more before he locked his lips with hers again.
Narrator: And so, after an exciting day for Serena, receiving a new dress and multiple other gifts. The ones she loved the most were the tickets to the sunny beaches of Alola and the bracelet with the keystone. Luckely the day went on great and everyone had a blast. What will happen next?
