NANDINI POV
"Manik wait" I yelled when he left the class as our class gets over
MANIK: "What do toy want Nandini?" he asked when I finally walked next to him
"Gosh, chill"why was he in a bad mood all of the sudden?
"What was that in class?"I asked
He stopped and looked at me, I did the same and waited for a response.
MANIK: "What do you mean?" he said with a smile, which I know was fake
"Don't act like nothing is wrong, you coughed up blood!"I said annoyed
Why was he acting as nothing happened?
MANIK: "I don't know what you mean Nandini" he responded and walked away from me again.
"Manik don't lie, just tell me what's wrong?"I said when I was walking behind him trying to keep up
MANIK: "Nandini! Leave me alone will you" he said on a loud volume which made everyone look at us
Manik looked around and looked back at me, "Leave me alone, I didn't see any blood" he said and walked away
I walked to my next class which I had with Navya and Arya. I'm not telling them what happened.
After a heavy day, I only had one class to go to. I had it with Manik but he was nowhere to be seen, why wasn't he in class?
Manik skipped the class and it was soo bad that even the teacher noticed it, he asked me to stay after class and asked me where Manik was. Like I know where he was hanging out.
I was annoyed because every teacher thinks I have something with Manik just because we hang out from time to time
I walked to the exit of the school and Manik was the only person I could think about. What if something is really wrong with him? I was thinking about when everything was different between us, the time he said he loved me or the time he was holding on to me.
"Why are you smiling like a crazy person?"
"Huh?"I said when Aryamaan pulled me out of my flashback.
ARYAMAAN: "Who are you thing about huh?" he said pushing me with his arm,
ARYAMAAN: "You know what don't answer that, I know who you were thinking of" he smirked
"Shut up!" I said pushing him back
"What are you doing here anyway? I thought you left?"
ARYAMAAN: "Well, with everything that happened, I thought it would be a great idea to hang out like we used to do..Have some fun, what you think?" he said
I looked at him whilst he was looking at me enthusiastically, why not
"Sure like old times huh!" I said
And that's what we did, we went out, ate something, and hung around whilst busting out in laughter like we used to do. We used to laugh at the random person on the streets, we would sit down next to each other on a bench and stare at people that walked by
Yes I know, not that nice but we were really lowkey so nobody really noticed us
It was getting pretty late, Arya brought me home and hung out with my older brother afterward. When I finally opened my phone after 4 hours, I saw that I had 5 missed calls of Manik and 4 unread messages
What was wrong with him?
I opened the messages, one said that he needed to see me and so did the other two. The last one was him telling me to meet him at the park.
It would be dark in like 30 minutes, I can't go out now? My brother would kill me.
I looked at the message again and wanted an explanation for what happened in class, so I decided to meet him.
I sneaked out of the house without my brother or Arya noticing me
I arrived at the park and saw Mnaik waiting on a bench with his head in his hands.I was late so as soon he wanted to go home, he saw me. I looked at him confused as I was walking closer to him. He better has a good explanation for dragging me to the park at this time
MANIK: "You came," he said surprised and you could see that he was somewhere relieved
"Ofcourse, so what's wrong?"I asked
MANIK: "I'm sorry, but I can't do this anymore," he said looking me directly in the eyes
"What what what do you mean, I don't understand what y..."I couldn't even finish my sentence
I suddenly felt this warmth glow going through my entire body. He was kissing me, he actually was kissing me for the first time. It was so wrong but it felt so good
It was magical, the way his lips connected with mine. It was right, and somehow, among all of the dizziness and the clinging to him like a lifeline, something inside me changed, never to be reversed
This new feeling could be dwelled upon later because for now, I was content to feel his breath come and go with mine. But I knew that I would regret getting this close to him, I would hate myself for doing so.
He let go of my cheeks which he was holding on to when we were kissing more like he was kissing me, I didn't kiss back, I was in shock I guess
And he left, he kissed me, let go of me, and left. What kind of guy left when he just kissed a girl? I didn't scream for him to come back mostly because my brain didn't comprehend what just happened. My brain was all over the place, but my heart was beating at a speed I have never experienced before
MANIK POV
As our lips crushed together, I felt like I was walking on air. She didn't budge nor did she kiss back but it was then that I realized that I could never be with her
She can't be mine and I would never be hers
