Moon's POV
My threads were pointless against the mutant zombie.
I thought I was going to die.
My eye was swollen shut and my entire body was aching from bruises.
I was about to die.
And now, here I was, silently praying that Cari would come back to the surface.
I never expected her to turn into a seal.
"Cari is a selkie," Alan had told me. "She turns into a seal when she's fully submerged in water."
Probably a half an hour had passed, and still no Cari or the mutant zombie.
The battle was yet to cease and it wouldn't until one side was completely wiped out.
But right now, at this moment, I couldn't care less. Cari was only sixteen years old, the same age as Meeps, just shy of five hours younger.
Then I saw the lake turn red.
Bloodred.
"Oh gosh no!" I screamed, forcing myself to stand up.
Running inside a building, I knew I that there wasn't a lot of choices I had, because most of everyone was preoccupied with the battle.
Actually, there was only one, and I hated to do it.
Because I might lose a friend because of this.
But, I had to try.
She's going to be so pissed off when she finds out what I did.
But I'm going to anyways.
I knew that Stella wouldn't be able to do much now, being completely blind.
However there was another one.
Forbidden to fight by her older sister, who's also one of my best friends.
Sheila is never going to forgive me.
