maya's POV
"dad," I say loudly as he turns his head so he's looking right at me
"What are you doing?" I ask
"This bitch told me to get lost," he says
"Why do you have a gun?" I ask calmly
"Well, I was coming here to kill you, but I have a few extra bullets, I was just planning on killing that faggot you're with too but I guess I can use one on this bitch" he says with no emotion
"Let her go," I say quietly
"And why would I do that?" he says as I start to get up and walk over to him
"Because I need you dad and if you kill her you'll be arrested. I want to go out for the Olympics again, I want to beat my time and I need you to help me" I say directly to him
"that's what you said last time" he growls "look how that played out"
"I know, and I'm sorry, I really wanted to, but Stephanie tricked me. I need you, Dad, you were the best coach, I was stupid to leave you, I want to be the best, eyes forward, I need you to get me to the Olympics again" I say, walking closer to him
"That would be hard, there's only a year until qualifiers," he says thoughtfully
"I know but I've been thinking, and I believe that we could do it, I'll do double training and cut the food down again, I can get there. You could be the coach who gets Maya bishop to two gold medals and beats the world record" I say as he moves the gun to face me, and I motion for Arizona to get away
"We can do that," he says as I move my hand behind me
"Ok, but first" I start as I reach in my back pocket and pull out a gun of my own, pointing it directly at him as I hear the room fill with gasps
"What are you doing," he asks
"Making this fair, put the gun down dad," I say calmly
"Put yours down," he says angrily as I see security behind him
"Give your gun to him," I say, gesturing to dean who was standing next to him "and I'll give my gun to him," I say, motioning to jack who was next to me "I'll leave with you after you put it down," I tell him
"Fine, but we do it at the same time, I don't want you playing any of your tricks," he says
"Ok, go on," I tell him as he begins to lower it and I do the same, giving it to jack
The second the gun leaves his hand, security manages to tackle him from behind, getting him on the floor and handcuffing him
"Be careful with him, he's got out of that place more times than I can count" I say, turning around and going back to carina and ava
"Thank you, Maya," Arizona says with tears now running down her face
"I didn't do that because I like you, I did that because I'm not as cruel as you are, don't confuse the two," I tell her strongly
"don't ever do that again!" ava says, wrapping her arms around me and crying
"I'm sorry baby, I'm ok," I say through my own tears
"Why did you have a gun?" Vic asks, coming up to us
"The prison called this morning and told me he was released on bail; I knew he would try to find me. I didn't plan on using it though"
"Come here," carina says as I go over and hug her as the entire room stayed silent, everyone in shock
"Why can't we just have a break, just a week where everything is ok, nothing bad happens," she says
"I know," I whisper as everyone starts clapping which we ignore
"I can't keep doing this" I whisper so only carina hears
"Bambina," she says sadly
"I'm trying not to let myself go there right now but I just don't want to do this anymore," I say as the tears start flowing again
"Ok, it's ok Maya"
"we're going to go," she tells bailey as we turn to leave with the rest of the team

Not long after we got home, I decided to take a shower which seemed like a good idea at the time but that quickly changed when I saw the razor on the shelf
After spending a few minutes fighting myself on what I was going to do I finally gave in to my thoughts and took apart the razor, getting just the blades out and running them quickly over my stomach. It burned but I didn't care, I liked it.
Ava's POV
"Can I come in?" Maya asks, standing at the door
"Yeah, everything ok?" I ask as she lays next to me, clearly something wrong
"I did something bad" she whispers
"Hm?" I mumble, confused
"I'm sorry," she says as her voice breaks
"what did you do?" I ask seriously
"I cut," she says through tears
"How bad?"
"they're deep"
"Have they stopped bleeding?" I ask as she nods
"You need to tell carina," I say quietly
"I know" she whispers as we lay there in silence as I try to absorb what I just heard
Carina's POV
"I need to tell you something," Maya says as she lays in bed with me
"Yeah?" I ask
"Promise me you won't get mad," she says as her voice breaks
"I promise Bambina"
"I saw the razor in the shower," she says as a tear falls
"Oh Maya," I say, immediately knowing what she means
"I'm sorry" she sobs
"it's ok, where did you do it?" I ask as she stays silent, "I won't get angry Bambina; you can tell me"
"My stomach" she whispers
"Can I see?" I ask quietly
"they're deep," she says
"it's ok" I reassure as she lifts the bottom of her shirt up revealing 4 deep cuts crossing over each other
"I'm so sorry" she sobs
"Come here Bella," I say, pulling her into me as tight as I could
"I'm sorry, I'm supposed to be better" she continues sobbing
"it's ok, you're allowed to have a slip-up Maya," I say, trying to calm her down
"They hurt" she cries
"I know, they're deep Bella, they might need stitches"
"No hospital" she demands
"Ok, that's fine," I say reassuringly
"Can I call someone Maya?" I ask
"Who?"
"Bailey, I'll get her to bring the suture kits so I can sew it up for you" I whisper as she nods gently, and I get up and leave the room, so she doesn't hear me talking to her
"DeLuca? Everything ok?"
"Sort of, can you bring a few suture kits around?"
"of course, but why?"
"I'll explain later"
"Ok, I'm on my way"

"What happened?" bailey asks as soon as I open the door
"Maya cut again but they're really deep" I sigh
"Oh, I'm sorry," she says
"it's ok, I'll be back out soon," I say going back into the bedroom
"You ready?" I ask Maya, with the numbing shot ready
"No, but I don't think I'll ever be" she sighs as I begin
I manage to close all 4 cuts up without causing her too much pain before convincing her to come back to the living room
We go outside and she lays with her head on my chest, her cheeks tear-stained making it obvious to bailey that she's not always like how she was today, standing up to everyone strongly
"I should check on ava" Maya whispers, "I told her I cut again; she's probably terrified," she says as her voice breaks
"Can I speak to her?" bailey asks
"sure," I say as she gets up and we point her in the direction of her room
Baileys POV
"Hey," I say as I see ava sitting on the bed against the headboard, staring down in front of her
"Why are you here?" she asks
"I brought a suture kit for carina," I say, knowing she wouldn't appreciate it if I lied
"Is Maya ok?" she asks quietly
"yes" I start as I sit next to her "she's worried about you though"
"Why?"
"Because she knows you're probably scared"
"I'm fine, I should be asking her that"
"I have 2 boys at home," I tell her "I have tuck who is your age, he is mine and my ex-husbands, and I have joey who is 2 years older than you. We adopted him after ben found him on a call. They both hate bens job because they know that there's always a chance he won't come back from a shift" I say, "You can be scared" I add
"I've already lost one mom and now I have another one who won't eat and one that cuts herself. I can't blame them for anything though, they saved me from an abusive household, and I wouldn't trade that for the world, but I miss not worrying about anyone. If anything happened to my dad I couldn't care less but if anything bad happens to them I don't know what I would do" she says quietly
"I bet they feel the same way, the first thing Maya said was that she wanted to make sure you're ok, you're allowed to tell them you're scared, they're scared too"
"Why did this have to happen?" she mumbles
Maya's POV
"You ok?" I ask ava who comes and cuddles up next to me
"yeah" she whispers as we put something on the tv
We watch it for a while, while carina gets her feeds before ava comes out with something randomly
"Can I tell you something?" she asks quietly
"of course," I say
"I... I have a little sister"
