A/N: THIS IS A FEW WEEKS LATER FROM THE PREVIOUS CHAPTER. JUST WANTED TO CLEAR THAT UP.
It was morning. The sun was already out. Rosalie walked into the ops center leaning on one of the tables.
She didn't feel that great.
Alec was about to make an announcement.
Rosalie looked up as Jace, Clary, and Sebastián walked in.
Jace and Rose made eye contact, making Rosalie smile and slowly look back to Alec.
"We've lost seven of our own, but we can't allow a single, radical Seelie to define the entire Downworld, any more than we can allow Valentine to define all Shadowhunters. So, to restore unity with our allies, I will be hosting regular Cabinet meetings here with the Downworld leaders of New York."
"I'm all for unity. But does he have to bring them here?" The dark haired Shadowhunter that was beside Izzy and Rosalie, said to the guy beside her.
"What do you expect? He's dating a warlock." The guy said.
"Still can't believe Alec Lightwood is in charge."
"Just wait. In a week, it'll be someone else."
Rosalie was a bit irritated. That was her brother they were talking about after all.
"Hey. If you don't want your mouths sewn shut, I'd suggest you shut up and show some respect." She told them before returning her attention to her brother.
"Please, let's make the Downworlders feel welcome." Alec said before coming down the steps towards the others.
"Look at you. In charge for a week, you're already shaking things up. I think this Cabinet thing is a good idea." Jace said.
"Yeah, I'm not sure everyone agrees."
"All the more reason to do it. How can I help?" Clary said.
"Actually, I need you and Jace for a mission. You're going to the Seelie Court. " Alec told her.
"Where is that?" She asked.
"The nearest entrance is in Central Park. But it's in another realm. Where the Seelie queen lives." Rosalie said.
"I requested an audience with her to discuss Kaelie's crimes. But she said she'll only meet with Valentine's experiments." Alec said.
"Wow. Charming nickname. What about Rosalie though? Shouldn't she go with us?" Clary asked.
Rosalie shook her head.
"You two can go. I think I'm just going to help out around here. Besides, I don't really feel that well."
That earned a look from Izzy.
"Okay. So, you think the Seelie queen is responsible for Kaelie's attacks?" Clary asked.
"That's what I want you to find out." Alec told her.
"It would make sense. Those murders weren't exactly Kaelie's style." Jace commented.
"How did you know Kaelie? " Clary asked.
Jace shared a look with Rosalie.
"Book Club." He said looking from Clary to Rosalie and then to Alec.
Alec just looked at him. An unimpressed look on his face.
"You read?" Clary asked, causing Rosalie to smile slightly.
"Yeah. Why does everyone find that so hard to believe?" He asked looking at Alec.
"Look. Focus. We need to find out if she's complicit. An entire faction could be turning against us." Alec said.
"That shouldn't be too hard, right? Seelies can't lie." Clary said.
"Technically yes, but...." Rosalie started.
She stopped as she felt like she was going to be sick.
"Oh god." She mumbled before she left for the nearest bathroom.
As she was puking her guts out, she felt someone pull her hair back for her to keep it out of the way.
When Rosalie was done, she sat with her back against the wall.
She noticed that the person who held her hair back was Izzy.
"Here." Izzy handed her a glass of water.
"You okay?" She asked.
Rosalie took the cup.
"Yeah. Thanks."
Izzy gave her a small smile.
The two left shortly after going their separate ways.
Rosalie, after spending at least an hour in her room went to the ops center to find work.
She sat at the computer for a while searching and reading.
She noticed her mother standing by the stairs.
Rosalie went over to her.
"Are you okay?" She asked her.
"I think you should know something. I know you and your father used to be close when you were younger."
Rosalie and her mother did end up talking and were a little closer than the first time she saw her.
"Is this about dad cheating? I know. I made Izzy tell me. I could feel that she felt guilty about something. I swore to her I wouldn't tell anyone. Not even Alec." Rosalie told her.
"You need to leave him. You deserve to be happy." Rosalie added.
"So do you. Don't ever give up on love. Fight for it, like your brother."
She brought Rosalie into a hug.

Rosalie found herself in the room with the piano. She played around a little before she started a song.
She didn't realize that she was being watched.

"That was really good. I didn't know you could play or sing." Jace said as he moved from where he stood in the doorway.
Rosalie looked up, smiling slightly.
"Oh, uh... yeah. I always had a thing for singing. Playing the pianois kind of new. How'd it go?" She asked.
"Not so well." He sighed.
He seemed off.
"You okay? What happened?" She asked turning towards him.
"Well... the queen loves her games. As we were asking permission to leave, she trapped Simon and I. Yes, Simon insisted that he had to come along. She trapped us with Vitis Veritas.." he paused.
"Enchanted vines?" She asked hearing about them before.
"Yeah. She had Clary play a game. The queen would set us free for a kiss. In her words "the kiss that will set them free is the kiss you most desire." Clary had to kiss one of us...." he trailed off.
"And she kissed you?" Rosalie asked.
She wasn't surprised. She wasn't mad either.
"It only lasted less than a second. I swear. " He said.
He started to ramble on, worried she'd be mad at him.
"Jace." She said and he continued on.
"Jace." She said again a little louder.
He stopped talking.
She laughed slightly.
"It's okay. Really. Stop worrying."

Jace woke up the next morning to an empty bed.
Hearing noises in the bathroom, he got up and went to the door. It was wide open.
Rosalie was leaning over the toilet puking her guts out.
"Are you okay?" He asked as he held her hair back.
He let go when she went to get up.
"Yeah. I'm fine."
After getting cleaned up and changing, the two went downstairs.
Alec, Sebastián, Izzy, Jace, and Rosalie all stood by a table in the ops center.
"I've requested that we move Valentine to the Gard in Idris. The Clave approved the transfer." Alec told them.
"You told them about the assassination attempt?" Jace asked.
"No. I explained to them that moving Valentine out of the city is the best way to restore relations with the Downworld. I left Luke out of it." Alec explained.
"It is the right decision." Sebastián said.
"But we have not given up on finding who orchestrated the hit on Valentine." Alec said.
"I actually have a few leads on that. I'll get a report in by the end of the day." Sebastián said walking off.
"Great. Izzy, you'll be leading the transfer mission. Jace you will assist. Rosalie, if you are feeling up for it you too can assist. If you aren't, then you need to rest."
"I feel fine." She immediately said.
"You just threw up before you got down here. You are resting. If you feel better later then you can." Jace just said leaving no room to argue.
"We need to remove Valentines Circle rune. The new wards in Idris won't let him pass with it on. Jace, do you want the honors?" Izzy said.
"Thought you'd never ask." He said.
Izzy left and Alec turned to the two.
"Tell me I'm making the right call. Cause between you and me, I'm just not sure I'm good at this."
"Alec, you are doing great. Really." Rosalie said.
"Yeah. What are you talking about? You were born for this job. Think of it as archery. Okay? Just trust yourself. Don't hesitate. And beyond that, just cross your fingers."

Rosalie woke up sometime later that day.
She felt better than before.
She got to thinking,, which distracted her but she still went to help the others.
She walked into the ops center and to the table they were at.
"Okay. Let's do this." Rosalie said getting Jace and Izzy's attention.
"The transfer is set for 0200. Jace, arm up the transport team. I want everyone carrying additional weaponry. Duncan, prepare Valentines restraints. The rest of you secure the perimeter. Dismissed."
Rosalie tried to focus as best she could as after a few hours they went to get Valentine.
They chained him and escorted him right outside of his cell to where Magnus and Alec were waiting.
"Valentine Morgenstern, by order of the Clave, you are hereby remanded to the Gard in Idris." Alec said.
Izzy nodded at Magnus and he opened the portal.
"I may be in a cell, but at least I'll be in Alicante.... where the air doesn't reek of Downworlders." Valentine said.
"Get him out of here." Alec said.
On their way through Rosalie watched as Duncan grabbed Valentines shoulder.
At first she didn't think anything of it, until they were on the other side.
They all made it through except for Duncan and Valentine.
"Where's the prisoner?"
"I dont know. Consul Dieudonne." Izzy answered.
"What happened to Duncan?" Jace asked.
"Where the Angel is Valentine?"

The next day around 11 in the morning, after Rosalie once again got sick, she made a realization.
She went to Clary first. She knew she wouldn't say anything to anyone.
Izzy other other hand would most likely slip and accidentally tell someone.
She knocked on the door.
Clary opened the door.
"I need your help."
"Okay. Come in."
Rosalie went inside and shut the door behind her. She paced the floor.
Clary was confused and concerned.
"Rosalie what is it?"
"I'm late. I think I'm..." Rosalie ran a hand through her hair.
"You're pregnant?"
"I don't know. Probably."
"Don't worry. I'll get you a test. Ill be back in no time. Just wait here."
Rosalie anxiously waited for at least 20 minutes or more before Clary came in.
She handed her the test and Rosalie did went and did what the box said.
She set the test on the counter and waited for the 5 minutes.
"If it's positive.... Clary, what am I gonna do?"
"You will tell him. Okay? It'll be fine. I'll be there for you."
When the time was up she was too scared to look so she held it up.
"I can't do it. What's it say?"
Clary smiled as she saw it.
"It's positive."
Rosalie took in a breath. She was happy but scared and nervous at the same time.
"Don't say anything to anyone. Please."
Before she could respond a knock sounded.
It was someone getting us because Alec was asking for us.
The two made their way downstairs to the ops room.
Rosalie was lost in thought until she made it to the table.
"Any word from Magnus or Luke?" Clary asked.
"No. With Valentine free, the Downworld Cabinet has been holding secluded meetings at the Seelie Court." Alec said.
"Well, that's not good." Jace said.
"You think anything good happens in the Seelie Court?" Clary said.
"The Clave isn't gonna let this go unpunished. The Inquisitor's sent an envoy to assess the situation. Chances are they'll be the ones replacing me as the Head of the Institute."
"Not if we can recapture Valentine. Sebastián and all available personnel are searching. We already know Duncan managed to hijack the portal." Izzy said.
Rosalie stood silent listening as she was distracted.
"If he was Luke's accomplice, he could have been orchestrating the secret transfer all along." Jace said.
"Listen... I appreciate the effort, but Valentine escaped on my watch. I deserve to take the heat for it."
"This isn't your fault, its mine." Izzy told her brother.
"I was the one on charge of the transfer team." She said.
"Hey, we both were. Look Alec, you are a good leader. You can't just let Imogen fire you over something you didn't do." Jace said.
"Alec will do as he's ordered." Robert Lightwood said.
"Dad?" Izzy asked.
That got Rosalie's attention.
"What are you doing here?" Alec asked.
"I'm the Clave's envoy. We need to talk." He told Alec.
Rosalie continued to stand there for a few minutes.
"Rosalie. Hey, are you okay? You seem distracted." Izzy asked her.
"Oh. Uh... yeah. I'm fine. It's nothing really." She told her before leaving and going to the roof to think.

Rosalie walked past the library, stopping as she saw Alec and Izzy inside.
The room was a mess.
"What happened in here?" Rosalie asked.
Alec picked up one of the shards.
Looking at it, it was a lake.
"Is that a lake?" Alec asked.
"What are these things?" He asked after a few minutes.
"They look like portal shards." Izzy said.
"So Jace and Clary are at this beach?" Alec asked.
"Assuming they went through together. But none of it makes sense. How were they able to create a portal inside the institute?" Izzy asked.
Rosalie was looking at all the pages on the floor.
"Clearly, it wasn't a normal portal. Whatever it was, there's something strange about this portal for the wards not to recognize it." Robert said walking into the room.
"That should explain these." Izzy said holding up the shard.
Robert took it and looked.
"This isn't a beach. It's Lake Lyn."
"The Lake Lyn? How can you tell?" Alec asked.
"Because Jace requested a portal to Idris this morning. He thought he might have a lead on Valentine, but the Clave denied it."
"The cabin." Rosalie mumbled. Jace told her about it.
"Seems like he went anyway." Izzy said.
"We need to help him. We have to get that portal approved." Alec said.
"I'll try my best, but the Clave-"
"I don't care what the Clave says. Jace is in trouble." Alec cut him off.
"I agree, but as long as your acting head of the Institute, you need to remain here."
"Jace is family. You can't expect Alec to abandon his Parabatai."
"No. Dad's right. I need to put the institute first. Listen.... I'm not abandoning anyone, I'm sending my best two Shadowhunters to go and rescue them." Alec told the girls.
"Get us a portal to Idris." Izzy said.
"I will... but there something you should know about this Lake." He said and then explained.
The two were now ready to go.
They showed up on the land right beside the lake.
The two were silent as they walked. Wolves were heard growling and howling.
Noises of nature everywhere.
Rosalie felt as if someone was behind her. Swinging her blade back as she turned around, she stopped it in time to notice it was Jace.
"Hey." He said putting his hands up.
Rosalie put the sword down.
"I'm guessing Alec got my message, huh? I had to do something to get your guys' attention." he showed us the cut on the palm of his hand.
"Can I use your Stele?" Rosalie took hers out and handed it to him.
"What happened to Clary?" Izzy asked.
"Thank you."
He picked up his shirt, tracing his iratze rune.
"I don't know. One minute, we were looking for her stele by the lake; the next, she was gone."
"You didn't drink any of the lake water, did you?" Rosalie asked.
"No, but Clary did."
Rosalie shared a look with Izzy.
"What?"
"Lake Lyn has hallucinogenic properties. An Iratze should be able to cure her, but we need to get to her soon." Rosalie said.
"Or what?"
"Or she could lose her mind forever." Izzy finished.
The three walked through the woods. Rosalie fell back slightly.
"You're distracted. What's wrong?" Jace, who Rosalie now realized was walking beside her, asked.
"It's nothing. Really, everything is fine." She gave a small smile.
He was going to say something, until we found Clary.
"Clary?" Jace asked.
Clary stood up. Scared.
"Who are you?"
"It's me. It's Jace."
"I don't know you."
"You're confused. We're here to help you."
He and Izzy walked forward. Rosalie stayed back watching.
"Just hold still." Izzy told her. Going up and holding out her stele.
"Where's Jace?" Clary asked before seeing the stele and swinging at Izzy.
Clary fought the two.
"Look, we're not gonna hurt you." Jace said.
"You're not gonna get the chance." Clary broke Izzy's stele.
"Hey. Stop. Stop, look. I know you're scared. But its me. Its Jace." He tried to calm her down.
She tried to swing but he grabbed both arms and now basically hugged from behind.
Her back was towards his chest and his hand held her arms so she wouldn't get free.
His runes then started to ignite.
He let her go immediately after that happened and took a step back.
"Jace? Izzy? Rosalie? What?" She asked confused and looking around at them.
"Someone will explain on the way to the cabin." Rosalie told her.
The four of them made their way to the cabin.
Jace and Rosalie were in the front. A good ways away. Out of ear shot from the other two.
"Jace. I uh... have something to tell you when we get back to the institute." Rosalie told him.
"Okay. Yeah."
A few minutes later.
"I haven't been to this cabin in years, but I'm pretty sure it's just past this hill." Jace told them.
They walked past the hill and there it was. Right in front of them.
"There it is."
Smoke came from the chimney.
"Someone was just here. " Izzy said.
Once inside, there was nothing.
They saw a chair with chains.
"We're too late." Jace said.
When they got back it was getting dark.
Jace was in the library reading Valentines journals for any idea where he went.
Rosalie appeared in the doorway. He didn't notice she was there, so she quietly walked in.
She walked up behind him whispering into his ear.
"Find anything?"
He jumped slightly before turning to look at her, who moved beside him.
"Don't do that." He smiled slightly.
She grinned before she sat down in the chair beside him.
"Nothing other than the fact that Jonathan is still alive. But... anyway. You said earlier that you had something to tell me?"
Rosalie got up.
"Don't worry about it. I don't even remember what it was now. Come on." She held out her hand.
He looked at her for a second before a mischievous smirk crossed his face.
He grabbed her hand and stood up. When he went to take a step, he picked her up bridal style and carried her to his room.
She laughed slightly.
"I could've walked." She said as he sat her down on the bed.
"I know."
The two soon found themselves asleep.
Rosalie resting her head on his chest and his arm around her.
She'd tell him her secret eventually. Just not tonight.
