Angry bc transferring my art lowered the quality and you can't see her freckles 🙃

Aria's POV

I shut my laptop with a heavy sigh. Standing up, I stretched and heard a few pops from my back and shoulders.

I'm finally done with work for today.

I pouted and looked around my office, putting my hands on my hips.

Of course the one day I need him, he decides not to stalk me. I want to ask him about these freaky dreams, and maybe he'll know how to get them to stop.

If they're even true.

Walking out into the living room, I shut my office door and locked it. Just then the hair on my arms prickled and that familiar creepy feeling of being watched set in.

I lowered my eyelids, slightly annoyed he's still hiding even after last night I told him he didn't have to.

Or more or less told him that...I said I knew he was there, so I don't see why he'd keep doing it.

"Alastor, stop being a creep. I need to talk to you anyway, so come out," I said, turning around.

He slowly formed in front of me, and looked down at me, still wearing that huge smile of his.

"Hello dear," he greeted me and I rolled my eyes.

"Hi, come here and sit down, we need to talk," I said sternly, and walked over to my couch. He sat right next to me and I scooted away from him before continuing.

"Ok I have a question for you..." I started, and he tilted his head. If the answer to this question is yes, then I know for certain I'm seeing into his past.

"Did you have a cat?"

He blinked. For just a moment he looked confused, then his eyes widened. Almost immediately after they widened they narrowed and he spoke lowly.

"How did you know about that...?" He asked and I drummed my fingers against my arm.

Remembering back to that dream made me wince slightly and I shut my eyes, shaking my head.

"I don't just know about that..." I mumbled, and he leaned towards me slightly, making me back away from him.

"What do you mean?" He asked, his voice sounding more confused now.

"The first night I was here I had a dream..." I met his eyes, "about you."

His smile widened, "well I sure hope it was appropriate," he teased and I rolled my eyes.

"It wasn't about you, it was literally...ugh...it was..." I stumbled over my words, putting my hands in front of me to try and explain through hand motions, "it was just like...you doing normal shit. Well...not normal you were covered in blood." I grumbled.

He just sat and stared at me, listening.

I sighed, "listen, all I know is I'm having dreams about your past in this house. I'm seeing things that have already happened, but when I dream it's like I'm there...you just can't see me." I said, looking up at him again.

"Oh...well..." he sat back slightly, looking away in thought, "that's...intriguing..." he mumbled.

My eyes widened, "so you don't know how to stop it?!" I asked him, exasperated.

He looked at me then, and he shrugged, "darling, like I said no one has lived in this house except for me since 1933...until you. So, everything from here forward is just as new to me as it is to you."

I put my head in my hands, "Alastor I don't want to watch you murder people in my dreams every night!" I said, my voice cracking slightly. I let out a frustrated growl, digging my palms into my eyes.

"Do you even realize how disgusting it was watching you eviscerate a grown man like you were performing an autopsy?!" I nearly yelled, looking back up at him.

He blinked, looking down at me.

I was about to keep yelling at him when I realized that would get us no where, and sighed heavily instead.

"Darling I'm sorry you had to see that, but is it not what you expected? I don't have the cleanest past," he said, chuckling slightly.

I glared at him, "just because I know what you did, does not mean I want to be there while it's happening!" I hissed at him.

He rolled his eyes, "I think you're being dramatic," he huffed and I gaped at him.

"Drama—I—puh—dramatic?!" I sputtered, raising my voice.

He glared at me and I returned it.

I pulled my phone out, sighing heavily and grumbling under my breath.

I starting dialing a number.

"What are you do—"

"Shut the fuck up." I said, stone cold as I looked up at him. His mouth shut immediately and he blinked at me.

I aggressively finished typing the number into the phone, jamming my finger onto the call button.

I put my phone up to my ear, glaring at Alastor the entire time.

"Hello?"

"Hi, Kelsie, you know a bunch of stuff about ghosts right?" I asked my best friend. Her and I both grew up in this town, and we both went our separate ways when we were old enough.

But she is my best friend. We always keep in touch.

Alastor's eyelids immediately lowered at the word "ghost".

"Uh, yea, why?" She answered, and I sighed.

"Because, I'm curious about something. If someone were to be having...I don't know...really vivid dreams about the past of a dead person, what would that mean?"

There was a pause.

"Ari, is your apartment haunted?"

Oh yea...she doesn't know I moved. No one does.

"Oh, uh...no, I actually just moved into a new house...or...an old house that's new to me," I said, and she hummed.

"Well...uh...what you said sounds kind of like...demonic," she said, sounding almost worried.

I pursed my lips, glaring at Alastor, "yea, that makes sense...anyway, why do the dreams happen?"

"If there's a demonic presence in a house that stemmed from its past, normally the energy is so powerful it projects itself...but you told me you never believed in that kind of stuff," she explained and I nodded.

"Yea, I know. Thanks Kelsie, I'll text you later, ok?" I said before hanging up.

I stared at Alastor for a second, an irritated scowl on my face.

He rolled his eyes, "would you stop looking at me like that. I didn't do anything, it's not my fault my house is showing you these things."

My eye twitched and I shook my head, "didn't do anything? You murdered people here! You killed people! And now, because of that, your stupid energy makes me see vivid hallucinations of your morbid hobby!"

I was yelling at this point, completely annoyed with the fact that I was just going to have to deal with these dreams. I didn't even take the time to process how bad of an idea it was to yell at him.

His entire demeanor switched within the blink of an eye. His eyes turned black and his teeth grew thin.

He got bigger, looming over me and making my mouth drop open as I fell back onto the couch, my eyes widening.

I stared up at him, immediately regretting my actions.

"Watch your mouth, darling." He growled out, his voice sounding just as horrifying as he looked.

I shut my eyes, my body trembling. Why does it seem every interaction I have with him includes and or ends with him scaring the ever living shit out of me?

"I-I'm sorry Alastor...really I'm sorry, please I'm just frustrated..." I whimpered, cursing this weak reaction he pulls from me so easily.

The rumbling growl above me slowly subsided. I kept my eyes shut, my bottom lip quivering just barely as I prepared for him to hurt me in some way.

There was a heavy sigh, and then I felt the smooth feeling of his fingers against my cheek.
Initially my reaction was to yank away, so I flinched.

I opened my eyes and he was still looming above me, but he was back to normal. I couldn't decipher the look in his eyes, but his smile looked worn.

His hand was inches from my face, and he looked to be debating whether or not he should try again to touch me.

My trembling subsided.

I just stared up at him, letting the tears in my eyes air dry. It was in that moment, looking at him, I realized we're both trying.

That I'm not the only one adapting to this situation.

I blew a soft sigh from my nose, glancing at his hand hovering by my cheek.

I furrowed my brows and pressed my cheek against his fingers, closing my eyes.

Immediately, he gently cupped my cheek, brushing his thumb just under my eye. This is how he seems to give comfort...through soft touches.

I wrapped my hand around his wrist loosely, just relaxing into his palm. My eyes opened and he was just staring down at me, his features looking calm. He still had me trapped under him.

"I think..." I started, "I think we both need to work on our temper..." I said, looking up into his eyes.

He sighed, "I suppose..." he mumbled and then my soft look turned irritated.

"Now get the fuck off of me."
