artem, Luke and Marius crowded around Y/n. luke held tears in his eyes, marius looked more relieved than Y/n had ever seen him, and artem was crying.

vyn was pushed back. he clenched his jaw as the three took turns hugging and holding her hand, confessing how worried and upset they were. why were they even here? did they think vyn couldn't take care of her? of course he could, hed never let his darling lover get hurt.

his expression was cold and dark, every time artem or luke or marius touched her, his fist got tighter. he had been in the hospital the entire two days she was asleep, he had been there signing papers and making the decisions, not these three. and now they were stealing his sp-

"vyn?"

vyn was dragged out of his fuming thoughts by a quiet, hoarse voice.

the three boys in front of him parted and moved to the side for him, he walked to her side, a smile immediately hitting his face.

"vyn, can you help me sit up?" she asked.

"we could've helped you with that heh." luke said.

he tried to move forward but VYn blocked him. he smiled gently at y/n and slipped his hands under her. her eyebrows creased with pain as his cold hands brushed the various cuts on her back.

"im sorry." he murmured.

he lifted her slowly, and gently moved pillows around. her face was slightly paler as he did so, the pain almost unbearable. y/n didn't want to worry him, so she bit her tongue to calm herself.

"is this good?" he asked.

he was overjoyed. she had asked him for help. not the others, even thought they were so close, she went out of her way to call out to him. maybe that night was a blessing in disguise. maybe now she only wanted to rely on him. no one else.

he smiled a little more and brushed a stray hair out of her face.

once again Vyn was pushed back. luke began chatting about some odd mystery series, artem watched with a small smile as the color gradually returned to Y/ns face.

vyn took his spot back in his chair, trying to ward off the anger burning inside. he just wanted to hold her, make sure she felt safe and warm. why did they have to come near her? why did they have to interrupt?

after a few minutes there was a knock on the door, it opened to show the surgeon and doctor who Vyn had personally requested take care of her.

"oh, well its quite the party in here?" Dr. Harris teased.

"hello miss Y/n, its good to see you awake." Dr. thompson said.

artem and Vyn stood, both of them trying to take control over the situation. Vyn easily stepped in front, extending a cool hand and shaking with the two doctors.

"she woke up not long ago, maybe an hour?" vyn said.

they reviewed her chart with furrowed brows.

"yes, you endured quite the beating. and I've still got some concerns about the sepsis. do you have any preexisting conditions dear?" Dr. Harris asked.

luke and marius moved out of the way as the two doctors went to her bedside. Vyns eyes narrowed as Dr. Thompson began a physical exam, gently touching over her stomach. he knew it wasn't malicious but he hated the idea of a strange mans hands all over HIS y/n.

"no she doesn't." luke said.

the doctor glanced at him before looking back at Y/n for her answer. lukes cheeks grew a little pink with embarrassment.

"no i don't." she said.

the doctor nodded and wrote some things down.

"that makes things a little easier for us, have you been filled in on the extent of your injuries?" he asked.

her face paled a little bit and Vyn noticed her eyes dimming. he stood up and moved his chair back beside her. her hand was still out of her blanket, so he rested his hand on top of hers to show his support.

"no." she said.

the doctor nodded.

"would you like to know?"

she nodded her head.

"when you came in here you were in bad shape. lung collapse, about 3/4 blood loss, three fractured ribs, one broke, and a total of 30 lacerations to your chest, back, and abdominal area including one that nearly tore through your stomach. most of them were minor, not even needing stitches. but the ones that did need stitches, were very very deep. if he had cut another inch to the left of your back, you would be in a wheelchair the rest of your life." the doctor said.

"do you mind if i look at your back?" Dr. Thompson asked.

she shook her head, and with effort, leaned forward.

"after that, because of the rust and bacteria you went into septic shock. the low blood count, was making your body shut down. we put you on a vent, and you need IV antibiotics for the next week." Dr. Harris said.

"im going to be here another week?" she asked.

"yes, im afraid you'll have to have some dull conversations with me." he teased.

it brought a small smile to Y/ns face, but to Vyns relief it didn't look genuine.

"hopefully my insurance will pay for this." she sighed.

the doctor looked confused and looked at Vyn.

"ah, Y/n, i took care of it." Vyn said.

her eyes shot up to his face, total shock all over it.

"that's gotta be thousands of dollars Vyn, why did you do that?" she asked.

"well, my insurance took care of it, not me." he lied.

vyn hardly ever got sick, and he had more than enough money to pay for the costs.

the doctor didn't say anything else.

"she looks good, there's some redness and irritation, but nothing that is to bad." the surgeon said.

he let y/n lay back, her face had once again drained of blood but her color began coming back immediately.

"good, i also think its best that we have one designated person here with you, and of course others can come during visiting hours, but i do not want you to be crowded for more than a few hours. you need rest." the doctor said.

vyn had to suppress a smile.

"vyn, you don't mind staying right?" y/n asked.

vyns heart melted, her voice sounded so sweet and gentle. of course he would stay, hed do anything for her.

"yes, i wouldn't dream of leaving." he said.

he smiled kindly and Y/n let out a sigh of relief.

luke, artem, and marius were both surprised by her decision, luke expected her to ask him to stay, they had been friends forever. he didn't dare try to say anything though.

"alright, visiting hours are about over so i suggest you all say goodnight." Dr. Thompson said.

vyn shook hands with both men before they walked out. the three boys all crowded Y/n with goodbyes.

"make sure you call us Miss attorney, and if Vyn ever bores you then you can always ask me to come and stay." marius teased.

vyn almost rolled his eyes. he was so immature.

luke leaned down and hugged her, his eyes flicked to Vyn before he leaned down one more time and kissed her cheek.

vyns hands balled into a fist, luke smiled at Y/n before walking out, shooting a smirk at Vyn. that little bastard had no right to even be in the room with her, much less kiss her. he was pissed, not at Y/n, she couldn't ever do anything wron.g

artem took her hand and gently patted it, letting her know that she needed to take as much time as possible.

"take care Vyn, if you need any help or clothing call me and ill drop something off." Artem said.

Vyn nodded, the two had a bit of newfound respect for each other. artem had agreed to help Vyn avoid any charges for his horrible killing of Charles, the others had no idea just what happened to him. they only knew that he had been taken out with a body bag already on him.

when artem left the room was silent.

"Vyn."

he turned quickly to look at his darling, her eyes looked so tired, dark circles were underneath them. seeing so many people so quickly must've exhausted her.

"yes?"

vyn moved his chair back to her side and sat down.

"im kind of thirsty, do you know if im allowed to eat?" she asked.

he was happy that her appetite was back, seeing her not eat for so long made it difficult for him. he nodded and took the phone from her bedside along with her menu.

"lets start off with something gentle on your stomach." he said.

"yes, if they have rice and broth. maybe some juice." she said.

he smiled gently and nodded.

"beef or chicken?"

"chicken. apple juice if they have it." she said.

vyn nodded, his slender fingers sliding over the buttons on the phone to quickly dial the food courts number.

he placed the order quickly, it would be about thirty to forty five minutes before it could get here. he put down the f=phone and leaned in closer. y/n was still awake, staring up at the ceiling.

"whats wrong?" vyn asked.

she glanced at him and smiled slightly.

"just thinking. im glad we got Charles." she said.

vyn nodded, reaching out and taking her hand.

"talk to me about it, tell me what your feeling i know your holding things back." vyn said softly.

y/n wasn't surprised, Vyn was a talented psychologist. the others wouldn't be able to tell very quickly wether or not something was wrong.

"i just... i don't know what to do. i didnt expect something like this to happen, and i know its good that we caught him but, i cant help but wish we hadn't." y/n admitted.

she was staring down at her hands, eyes riddled with shame.

"i don't think you wish he hadn't been caught, i think you wish he hadn't been caught the way he was. you wish you hadn't had to get hurt right?" vyn asked.

he hated seeing her so upset. her eyes were glistening with tears as she fiddled with her hands. it was big thing to admit, Vyn understood. but it was alright to be upset.

y/n slowly nodded her head, feeling her shame build in her chest. she didnt want someone else to get hurt, but if she hadn't been taken then Charles would've hurt someone else. she couldn't help but almost wish... wish that it had been someone else.

a warm tear rolled down her cheek at that though. was she a bad personfor wanting that?

vyn noticed her internal struggle and gently touched her cheek. his fingers were cool and comforting against her warm cheeks. she felt silly for being so upset around him.

vyn forced her to look at him, a very serious expression on his face.

"its okay to think that. its normal. no one should have to go through that and your not bad for wishing it had been someone else. please don't beat yourself up for it." he said.

another tear splashed onto his fingertips. he wiped them away gently and smiled.

"i-i feel like a bad person." she murmured.

vyn shook his head.

"no, a bad person wouldn't feel guilt, they wouldn't think they were a bad person. its alright, what happened was horribly traumatizing. its okay." he said gently.

her lip trembled slightly, it broke his heart to see so much conflict behind her eyes. he leaned forward and pressed a warm kiss to her cheek. his lips tingled as he pulled back, surprising the young women.

"i know my words don't mean much but you arent a bad person. you could never be a bad person. your perfect." he said gently.

her hand rested on top of his and she smiled sadly, her eyes closed and her remaining tears fell down her face. y/n felt relief when he talked to her. vyns encouragement towards her was reassuring, she felt better, like a weight had been lifted from her shoulders.

vyn smiled at his lover, her tired eyes slid shut as she leaned into his hand.

"vyn, we should probably talk about... what happened before."

it was sudden, but her eyes slowly opened. her cheeks grew a little pink as she glanced into his golden eyes. his hands went numb and his breath felt like it was stolen. was she about to reject him? no. no it wasn't possible he had helped her out, hed been perfect she wouldn't reject him.

"of course." he said gently.

she lifted herself up, sitting up further so she could look at him.

"vyn i-i haven't really done that, kissed someone in such a way before." she said quietly.

her eyes were staring holes in the floor.

"really?"

it made him happy to know that she wasn't really involved with anyone before him.

"yeah so i don't- dont really know what to do." she said.

vyn smiled gently and tilted her chin up. her face turned a deeper shade of pink when she met his eyes.

"well, if you'd like we could take things slowly. most people enjoy the beginning stages of relationships, but we dont have to say we are dating right now. id actually prefer if we wait until this is all over." vyn said.

he looked around the room.

"but id be ecstatic if you'd consider labeling us... more than friends." he said.

she bit her lips for a moment and nodded. vyn was ready to jump for joy. he never imagined it happening this way, but he knew that he would have her for himself. it also meant that artem, luke, and marius couldn't latch onto her anymore. he could have this small women all to himself.

"does that me we would... ah nevermind nevermind."

her face went bright pink and she covered it. there was an embarrassed smile on her face that made Vyns stomach turn. how could one person be so damn beautiful? how could she steal his heart everytime he looked at her.

vyn gently removed her hands from her face.

"tell me." he said firmly.

she blushed furiously, avoiding eye contact.

"does that mean you want to... you know."

she wiggled her eyebrows suggestively before laughing.

"i-im sorry i dont know how else to ask." she laughed.

i couldn't help but chuckle. which soon turned into the both of us laughing. she held her chest, trying to ease the pain that came with it.

"o-okay we have to stop laughing. but i dont know how else to ask i just wanna be clear on things." she said.

vyn slowly stopped laughing, admiring the sparkle in his lovers eyes as she slowly regained control.

"hm, if you are referring to sex, in your currents state im not sure if that is something you would want. and-"

he cleared his throat, for the first time his own face turned slightly pink. y/n had never seen the always composed Vyn embarrassed. he drew in a little bit closer to her.

"i should remind you i am a man and... those more indecent thoughts about you have come across my mind, and while ravaging your pretty body would be wonderful, i would like to do so when your ready." he said softly.

she blinked a few times. his words rang in her head. he had thought lewd things about her? the gentleman in front of her didnt seem capable of it. but a teasing smile came across his face.

there was a knock at the door that interrupted the two. it opened to reveal a women carrying a tray.

"i have some food for you." she said.

vyn cleared his throat and moved the small table closer to Y/ns bedside.

"right here, thank you." he said.

she nodded her head, wished the two a good day and left.

vyn smiled and unwrapped the utensils.

he ignored Y/ns outstretched hand to hold the soup.

"let me, its hot." he said.

she lowered her hands and nodded. vyn held the spoon in front of her, allowing her to blow on it to cool it down. she ate quickly, although Vyn paused multiple times to give her stomach a moment to settle. he was happy to see her eating so much, th eone things her body couldn't stand was no eating. he was practically glowing when she finished the entire bowl.

her eyes were much heavier now that she had something in her stomach.

"here, have some rice before you sleep." he said softly.

she nodded her head, her eyes halfway shut. he spooned rice into Y/ns mouth and set down the cup, he poked a hole in the juice box and held it to her lips for her to drink from.

"good girl." he said softly.

she drank slowly and let her head fall back.

"tired now?" he asked.

she nodded her head, exhaustion starting to settle in. she was happy, beside her was her more-than-friend, and she had gotten to see her actual friends. her body hurt a little less now, and she was able to get something to eat. her whole body felt warm.

Vyn took her blanket and set it back down on top of her before he tucked her in. he enjoyed taking care of her, this way he knew she was safe and properly handled. there was nothing he wouldn't do to ensure her safety.

"alright, i think its time for some sleep now." he said.

"make sure you eat." y/n murmured.

her concern was touching. he smoothed her hair down and out of her face before leaning forward and kissing her warm forehead. he smiled when her breathing evened out and quiet snoring was heard from her.

he would do anything to keep her by his side, he wouldn't be able to leave her, ever.
