Chapter 2 - Connecting Through Aura!
Hello new reader and welcome to the 2nd chapter of my story! This is the first time I'm writing my own story so don't be too harsh on me. Anyway, I hope you like my work and maybe I might see you in the next chapter again!

Narrator: After leaving Alola behind them, Ash and Pikachu were now on their way back to Kanto and to finally go home. But little do they know there was something about to happen...
''Everyone hold on tight! There will be some turbulance and unfortunately we have to land in the Sinnoh region. Don't worry, as soon as the storm passes we'll let you know when we will continue the flight towards Kanto.'' The flight attendant spoke throught the intercom.
"Ah man... I was really looking forward to get back home as soon as possible!'' Ash said, feeling a little bummed. However, de didn't really mind spending some more time in Sinnoh. ''There is nothing we can do about it, so let's make the best out of it Pikachu." Ash said, with a small smile on his face.
''Pika pi.'' Pikachu agreed.
20 minutes later when the plane safely landed at the airport in Veilstone City. Both Ash and Pikachu hopped off the plane and left the terminal. it wasn't long before they were back on the familiar streets of Veilstone City.
"We're here Pikachu. What do you say, wanna explore a little?" Ash suggested, clenching his fist as he couldn't hide his excitement.
''Pika!'' Pikachu nodded, feeling excited.
"Great, let's go then!" Ash flashed a smile. ''Honestly, it feels good to be back in Sinnoh again. Maybe we should go to Reggie. Maybe we can see if Paul is home. Then, we definetly challenge him for another battle!" Ash grinned, already getting excited by the prospect of a battle against one of his strongest rivals.
Pikachu, just like his trainer, started feeling excited aswell. He jumped of his trainer's shoulder and started running into the direction of Reggie's house. But as they were running, they suddenly noiced something. There was a bidpedal blue and black pokemon running away. it looked hurt and Ash was quick to identify it as a Riolu.
''Come Back here!'' One of two men yelled at the hurt fighting pokemon. "Machoke!'' The man's partner yelled. but there were two of them aswell.
''That doesn't look good Pikachu!'' Ash shouted. ''Let's follow them!''
"Pika!" Pikachu shouted with his face turned serious. The two of them immediately started running after them.
Ash and Pikachu chased them for a while. but then,they saw Riolu getting cornered by the two men and their Machoke. They became worried and picked up their pace.
"Now we've got you little one!'' One of the men shouted. ''Come with us or we'll take you with force!" The other ordered.
Suddenly, Riolu put it's paws together and formed a blue orb between them. then, it fired it straight at their Machoke. However, both Machokes hands started glowing orange and they blocked the attack with the Karate Chop move.
"Now I see why the boss wants you.'' One of the men grinned wickedly. ''You are a Riolu who can use Aura Sphere. You will definetly earn us some good money." The other man said while he looked at the young Emanation pokemon with disgusting looking interest.
"Machoke use Brick Break!" They shouted in unison while pointing at the hurt Riolu.
Both Machoke start running towards Riolu with their hands glowing while holding them in an X shape. Riolu's eyes widened. The pokemon wasn't able to defend itself anymore due to tiredness and damage taken. But then, when they were about to hit Riolu, the two Machoke got hit with a crackling beam of electricity.
"What was that!" One of the men shouted in confusion while both men shot their heads into the direction where the attack came from.
"LEAVE RIOLU ALONE!" Ash shouts as he and Pikachu jump infront of Riolu while spreading their arms.
"How dare you kid, Interfearing with our plans!" The man says as he looks angrily at Ash and Pikachu.
Ash: That Riolu clearly doesn't want to go with you so you better leave it alone!
The other man smirks as he says. "Well, you certainly are brave, how about we teach you the hard way not to mess with us, Machoke use Take Down!"
"Yeah! Machoke you use Take Down aswell!" His comrade says.
Ash however is quick with his command for Pikachu as he says. "Pikachu dodge with Quick Attack and follow up by catching them with Electro web!"
As the Machoke run towards Pikachu trying to slam into him. However Pikachu easily dodges them by jumping up while he creates a sphere of electricity on his tail and throws it towards the stunned Machoke. The sphere changes into a web and traps both Machoke in it.
Ash: Good job Pikachu, now finish it with 1 more Thunderbolt!
"PikaaaCHUUUUU!!!" Pikachu chants as it jumps into the air while he slaps his cheeks, creating a powerful jolt of electricity.
Pikachu fires of a bolt of electricity while landing safely on the ground. As the powerful Thunderbolt hit the Machoke they both fell uncounsious on the ground.
Hunter 1: Hmpf, we'll get you for this kid!
Hunter 2: Count on it! Machoke return!
After returning their Machoke they run away into the distance, leaving a happily smirking Ash and Pikachu.
"We did it Pikachu!" Ash says while throwing his fist into the air before he notices Riolu passing out. Ash quickly picks up Riolu before he says. "Quick, we need to bring him to the pokemon center!"
"Pikachu pi!" Pikachu says as he runs next to Ash.
After a couple minutes of running, they finally reach the Pokemon Center of Veilstone City. Both of them burst through the doors, only to stop infront of the desk, panting.
"N-Nurse Joy! We need your help right now!" Ash manages to say as he tries to catch his breath.
"What can I do f-" She says until she sees Riolu in Ash's arms. "Oh right this way! Chansey get the stretcher quickly!" She yells.
Suddenly a round, pink pokemon with an egg in it's pouch appears from the doors behind the desk which chants "Chansey chan!" As it runs over to Ash and nurse Joy.
"Place it here on the stretcher and explain me what you did to him!" Nurse Joy says as she talks in an angry tone while pointing her finger into the air.
"You see, we saw it hurt and getting chased by pokemon hunters.
We immediately chased after them and before they could hurt Riolu more, we managed to scare them off. After that I noticed how bad Riolu's situation was, we immediately rushed over here with Riolu." Ash says as he looks down to the ground, feeling bad he couldn't stop them earlier.
Nurse Joy quickly starts to feel guilty for lecturing Ash after hearing the full story. "Oh, i'm so sorry. I didn't know you tried to save it. But don't worry about a thing! We'll make sure he is in top shape in no time!" She says in a reassuring manner.
"Thanks Nurse Joy!" Ash says as he starts to feel a bit of hope.
It takes a while and Ash and Pikachu wait impatiently in the waiting room. Ash feels really unsecure about the whole situation.
"I hope Riolu is gonna be okay..." Ash mutters under his breath.
"Pika pi..." Pikachu chirps as it looks down to the ground.
Then suddenly nurse Joy walks into the room and makes her way towards Ash.
"Ash?" Nurse Joy says, causing the Kantonian to look at her with a hopeful expresion all over his face. "It's good you made it so quickly. Otherwise Riolu would take way longer to recover. I'm glad that I can tell you that Riolu is fine and just needs a good rest."
"Really! That's amazing!" Ash says as he begins to smile at Pikachu who does the same.
"But there is one more thing Ash." Nurse Joy says, causing Ash to look at her in confusion. "It's just that this Riolu is very lonely."
Ash: How do you know?
"The way it tried to resist as I was treating it. I'm afraid that it doesn't have much good experience with humans." She explains.
"Thats awfull! Could I see him please?" Ash asks in a sincere tone.
Nurse Joy: Sure, follow me.
They walk towards Riolu's room and when they walk past the window, Ash sees him sleeping on the bed. Nurse Joy opens the door and Ash and Pikachu quietly enter the room. Nurse Joy leaves them so she can take care of the other injured Pokemon who need her.
"Hey Riolu, how are you feeling?" Ash asks quietly, not wanting to disturb Riolu.
"It hurts but i'm feeling better now. Tell me, were you the one that saved me?" Riolu asks while trying to sit up straight.
"You can talk???" Ash asks in a confused tone.
Riolu: No, your aura is strong enough that you can understand my feelings.
"Hmm, I think I understand... And to answer your question, yes me and my buddy Pikachu managed to save you.
"Thanks..."Riolu wispers.
"I'm sorry to ask but nurse Joy told me you haven't had much interactions with humans before. Is that right?" Ash asks, trying to comfort the young Emanation Pokemon.
"Yes..." Is all Riolu could say as tears takes control over the small pokemon
Ash slowly tries to get closer until he's hugging Riolu. He pets Riolu's back, trying to comfort it while he says. "I'm sorry for everything that happened to you." But suddenly an idea comes up in Ash's mind as he says. "You know what? If you want, you can always come with us? Me and Pikachu would happily add another friend to our family, right buddy?" Ash says as he smiles at Pikachu.
"Pika-chu!" Pikachu cirps as he clenches his small paw into a fist while smiling at Riolu
"Huh? You want me to become your... friend...?" Riolu asks in confusion.
Ash: Yes, Atleast if you don't have any other plans...
Riolu takes a moment to think before he ultimately nods.
"Great!" Ash says as he grabs a pokéball from his belt, enlarges it and taps it carfully on Riolu's forehead.
The pokeball shakes 3 times before it clicks.
Ash smiles before he throws the pokeball into the air and says. "Come on out Riolu!"
When Riolu appears from the pokeball, Ash smiles as he says.
"Welcome to the family buddy!"
Riolu smiles at Aah's words before he says. "Can I stay outside? I don't like staying inside a pokéball."
Ash: Sure! Pikachu hates it aswell, hop on my free shoulder.
Riolu smiles before he hops on ash's free shoulder. Ash walks with Pikachu on his right shoulder and Riolu on his left shoulder to the main lobby of the pokemon center where he sees nurse Joy.
Ash: Nurse Joy, Riolu decided to come with us. Is that okay with you?
Nurse Joy smiles before she replies. "Sure Ash! I'm glad you take care of it, now he's got someone who really cares about him a lot and there is no doubt in my mind that you'll let it being captured again.
"You got that right!" Ash says before he turns to the clock. "I'm going now, my flight will continue in 20 minutes!"
Nurse Joy: Sure Ash, have a save trip and take care!
Ash: Thanks! We'll do, Bye!
Nurse Joy: Bye Ash!
Ash, Pikachu and Riolu needed to run for a bit but luckely managed to make it on time at the airport. There, they make their way on the plane and take the same seats Ash and Pikachu had before they landed in Sinnoh. As Riolu stares out of the window. Ash smiles at it, glad he can add another member to the team.
"I'm glad guys, after some unfortunate events we still end up lucky to get another friend. Hope you like my home Riolu!" Ash says as he smiles while petting both Pikachu and Rioly on their heads.
Riolu: Rioo!!
Pikachu: pika!!
