Sipping on freshly brewed coffee while listening to everything Grimmjow was telling you, your focus broke when you saw Maleeka with a bag on her back and Hisoka trailing not far after her.

"Morning Grimmjow and Y/n!'' Maleeka beamed.

Fist bumping Grimmjow, Maleeka sat next to you, eyeing your sandwich.

"You want it?" You asked amusingly.

Not letting even seconds pass, Maleeka nodded immediately and took it. "Thank you!"

"You made this isn't?" Maleeka muffled through her chewing.

"Y-yes, how did you know?" You curiously asked.

"Because you have been making food for me for years everyday. I know the taste of your food." Maleeka tried to resist the urge of calling you mum.

"O-oh have I? Well I'll try my best to continue making you food. However you'll need to remind me of your favorites. I'm sorry." You sincerely replied.

"It's okay!" She said, gobbling down the sandwich.

"Y/n."

Instant shivers sent straight down your spine after hearing him utter your name. His voice screamed authority and order. Lord, you couldn't understand how your were such casual friends with someone intense like Hisoka. Not to mention you were afraid that you said something upsetting to him last night.

Averting your gaze to his, you dryly gulped, "Yes?"

"After I drop Maleeka at school, I'm returning back to my place. Are you coming with me or staying here?" Hisoka asked, still, in that scary undertone.

Remaining silent, you shifted uncomfortably in your seat. Both father and daughter staring at you.

Based on how intimidating Hisoka was this morning, you wanted to answer 'I'm staying here.' However you thought about the fact you have been 'living with him' for years, like Hisoka informed you were. Recalling the few pictures he showed you yesterday, surely it depicted that Hisoka wasn't this scary man. You seemed happy around him for a reason.

At least he was kind enough to give you the option on where you staying.

"..I'll come with you Hisoka."

Although he didn't physically express it, he was beyond relieved and glad you picked him. Despite starting over with you, Hisoka loved the fact you would finally be living in his house again. Seven years without your presences in his house was torture. You were the one that made his house a home.

"Very well. We leave in 5 minutes."

Finishing your coffee, you excused yourself to go to the bathroom before departure.

Looking at his daughter, he noticed she stopped eating and frowned deeply at him.

"What?"

Sighing, she bit aggressively into the sandwich. "How do you expect mum to fall in love with you again if you talk to her like that!" She childishly yelled.

"Like what?"

Chuckling obnoxiously, Grimmjow replied. "Like a cold expressionless asshole."

"Yeah whatever he said!" Maleeka innocently agreed.

Before Hisoka had the chance to reprimand his daughter for agreeing he's an asshole, Grimmjow spoke again. "But don't worry Maleeka. Hisoka was like that towards her before, if not a bigger prick towards her. If your mother is still the same, she'll fall in love with him regardless."

Scowling at Grimmjow, "If you ever have kids I'm going to make sure I talk trash about you to them too." Hisoka annoyingly remarked back.

"Oi, c'mon now. It's not talking trash if it's facts, am I wrong?"

Smoothly rolling his eyes at him, Hisoka merely grunted in response.

"You might be wrong though Grimmjow, because back then Hisoka was extremely flirty and charming. He lost all of that throughout the years. Became closed off. Introverted and cold, so you might want to look into that Hisoka. It'll be harder to win her over if you continue being aloof with her. " Sabastian informed whilst walking into the kitchen too. Unable to help himself from eavesdropping.

"What does aloof mean?" Maleeka asked.

"It means cold, unfriendly and distant." Sabastian warmly answered her question with a sweet smile.

Walking out of the kitchen with another grunt of annoyance, "I think I know how to attract my own woman. Come on Maleeka." He commented with a servere irritated undertone.

"Don't worry! I'll make sure dad isn't aloof to mum!" She whispered to Sabastian before following Hisoka.

Jumping into the passenger seat, since Maleeka occupied the back seat, the silence between you and Hisoka was uncomfortable.

Glancing discretely at you from the corner of his eyes, he picked up you weren't relaxed.

"How are you feeling today?" He finally broke the silence.

Peering your eyes off the wet window, you exhaled lightly, causing a bit of mist to be released because of how cold it was today.

Stopping by the the traffic light, Hisoka continued to analyze you. Smooth and effortlessly with such casual demeanour, he slipped off his jacket and handed it over to you. "Wear it. You look cold. You can change into your clothes when we get back." He curtly replied. Maybe Sabastian was right. Things like this were easier for him years ago because he was naturally flirty and forward. However now, he felt stiff and almost shy? As if he was new to the game.

He was so used to being alone and uncaring of others ever since you left. His daughter is a different story, but with you, it was almost as if he was nervous and unsure.

Was he actually scared of messing up with you on his second chance? He didn't and couldn't be flirty with you like he used to be, however Sabastian is right. He won't win you over if he continues being aloof with you. You might get the impression he isn't available romantically. Or worse case, he might push you into the arms of another man one day because you'll assume he isn't interested in you at all. That you and him were truly just friends.

Reluctantly, you took his jacket. "Thank you.." You whispered back.

Through the rear view mirror, Hisoka partially rolled his eyes at Maleeka grinning. Probably happy that he offered you his jacket to wear.

"I'm feeling okay I guess. Just slightly frustrated that I can't remember anyone and the back of my head is a bit sore." You replied, quite enjoying the warmth and smell of Hisoka's jacket.

"Don't worry about not remembering anything. It'll come to you eventually, and even if it doesn't, it's not a big deal. I'll take care of you." He couldn't help but say that. He was reluctant, however he decided to let his subconscious self take over and do all the talking.

"And, I made a call to my doctor this morning. He'll come over and examine you later today." He added.

"Personal doctor? I noticed the place your friends live in. It's very beautiful. What do you do for a living?" You asked.

"Daddy is a businessman! He's the boss of all of them!" Maleeka butted in, saving Hisoka from having to answer that question.

Smiling warmly, you looked at Hisoka impressively, "Wow that's amazing." You admitted, causing Hisoka to silently smirk from the praise.

Falling into eerie silence again, you couldn't resist gently burying your nose in his jacket collar. "Your scent is relaxing.." You blurted out accidentally.

Hearing that, Hisoka couldn't help but feel nostalgic. You were still the same Y/n.. Well, parts of you was still there, deep down. He could work with that.

"My scent used to help you sleep. It always brought you comfort." He replied with a longing undertone.

"O-oh really? Did I struggle to sleep?"

Keeping his eyes focused on the road by force, "Yes. You would keep yourself up because you chose studies over sleep and you suffered from bad nightmares whenever you mistakenly fell asleep. The first time you ever fell asleep was in my car with my jacket next to you. After awhile, I figured it was my scent that put you off to sleep and warded off your nightmares. Since then, I gave you my favorite jacket to sleep with. That, or you would fall asleep with me." Hisoka decided to push the boundaries just a little by mentioning the last part.

Looking at him with partially shocked eyes,"Sleep with you?"

Huffing amusingly, "Don't worry, it was innocent. Although there was a lot of bickering, stealing of the  blanket off each other and irritating each other." Hisoka half lied.

Lightly giggling at the thought of someone like Hisoka's caliber and yourself bickering, you were starting to feel more comfortable around Hisoka. The nervousness you experienced slowly started to fade into oblivion. You needed to keep reminding yourself that you and Hisoka were close friends.

"Well, in case I haven't thanked you back then, thank you for bringing me comfort." You sincerely replied.

If only you knew, sleeping next to you brought him peace too. The days he slept with you were his most peaceful and longest sleeps. He was one of not sleeping often too, however with you, he slept for over 10 hours plus. You distressed him. Made him forget about his responsibilities. He looked forward to coming home. Looked forward for nightfall knowing he'd have you in his bed.

In response to your gratitude, Hisoka remained quiet for the remaining drive to Maleeka's school.

"Bye!" She beamed before running out of the car.

Reaching his mansion only a few minutes later, you couldn't help but admire his home. It was slightly smaller from the one you were in earlier, but it was breathtaking. Somehow you could see Hisoka in this mansion's design. Classy and mysterious. Somehow the mansion captured Hisoka's sense of personality.

Hearing him instruct the guard to return the G-wagon back to Grimmjow, you trailed behind him to the entrance. If you didn't lose your memory, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between what the repaired mansion from the major blowout you and him had a few days ago.

Hisoka had instructed the builders to repair his house to the exact design it was before and replaced his cars with the exact models. The only car he didn't replace but rather fixed the windows you smashed, was his favorite car. He wanted nothing to change a single bit at all.

Stopping abruptly at the door frame, you accidently bumped into his muscular back.

"O-offph, I'm sorry." You immediately apologized, taking a few steps back.

Turning to face you, a sense of nostalgia filled Hisoka's eyes. As if he was looking at a younger version of you. You noticed he extended his slender hand out to you. "I don't want you to get lost while I show you around." He said, reliving this exact moment he had with you seven years ago.

Not letting your hesitation and doubt overpower you, you slowly slipped your hand into his. Feeling awfully comfortable with his hand engulfing yours.

Hisoka showed you every inch of his house in the exact order he did before. Ending off with the bedrooms on the third floor.

"I doubt you will feel comfortable sleeping with me, so pick a room." He offered you once again. He was fickle to mention it again. Almost as if he was reminding you and assuring you that if you ever had to fall asleep in his bed again, it would be completely normal.

Analyzing both of them, Hisoka couldn't help but smile to himself when you picked the same room you did before. "This was actually the room you picked when you first moved in. Your clothes are still in the cupboard. Washed and dried. Some of your stuff like jewelry, are still laying in my room. Bedside table."

You would think it's all recent belongings of yours laying in his room, if only you had known he didn't move any pieces of jewelry you left on his bedside table for seven years.

Walking towards your cupboard, you cautiously opened it, and true to his words 'your' clothes were all hung and folded.

"I guess I should get out of your clothes and change into mine." You informed.

Taking the hint, "I'll be in my room." He said before closing the door.

Not long after he heard you gasp and abruptly opened the door.

"What happened to my leg?" Panic laced your voice.

Averting his eyes to you, Hisoka's past memories of you flashed before his eyes. He loved seeing you walk around his house with just his shirts on. Bare foot, no pants. Just his shirts that were baggy over your body.

Not letting his stares creep you out, Hisoka mused himself out of his thoughts. "You got hurt a few days ago. I actually need to change the bandage, sit." He instructed, pointing to his bed while he opened his drawer. Pulling out a med kit.

Reluctantly, you sat on his bed. "How did I get hurt?" You asked.

Sitting on the edge of the bed, Hisoka gently bent your knee up so he could take off the bandage.

"You hurt yourself badly playing with Maleeka." He lied. Of course he wasn't going to tell you he shot you. Doing this, it reminded him to check on his gunshot wound too.

"I can't believe I didn't feel this at all." You thought out aloud.

Smirking partially, "You have always had a high pain tolerance. This will heal in no time don't worry."

Falling into silence, Hisoka noticed that you pulled his shirt down and held it there to cover your panty. Obvious that you were feeling shy.

"You don't need to do that. I know what your body looks like already." He smoothly stated. It was odd. Not a trace of pervertedness was found in his thoughts and tone. What he said sounded like it came from a place of maturity and pure familiar comfort.

"O-oh, but s-still." You meekly responded, trying your best to mask your rosey cheeks.

Noticing you were pulling his shirt more down and were embarrassed, Hisoka stopped unwrapping your bandage and placed his hand over yours.

"Stop. I know what you look like. Your body is prefect. There's nothing to be ashamed about." He sternly said, causing you too freeze.

Realizing that might be pushing the friend boundary a little too much, Hisoka reverted to a much more teasingful response. "Besides, you are stretching my shirt."He added.

Letting go reluctantly, you looked away, cheeks reddening more." Sorry." You whispered.

Finishing up, Hisoka removed his hands off your thigh. Fingers lingering against them more than it should. Your thighs were still so soft and smooth. Any contact he had with you triggered him mentally and emotionally - that's how badly he missed you.

"Thank you Hisoka." You sincerely uttered.

Getting off the bed, you headed back to your room. After a few minutes, you walked into Hisoka's room again.

"I'm I someone that would wear tight clothing or did I gain weight in a few days?" You asked with embarrassment flooding your tone of voice. Trying your best to cover your chest.

Looking away from his phone, Hisoka humorously smirked.

"The dresses, pajama's and coats still fit me. But the individual shirts and pants are really tight." You added.

Analyzing every inch of you, yes it was tight against your body. Your breasts were practically bulging out.

Weight gain naturally so. After all, you were pregnant and worked out more - gaining 2 times extra muscle and fat. Especially on your legs.

"I'll get you new clothes. It probably shrunk in the dryer. In the mean time you can wear my clothes. " Hisoka answered in the least insensitive manner he could. Even he knew to never tell a girl she gained a bit. Yet alone tell you that your breasts have gotten partially bigger because you were pregnant.

"O-oh n-"

"It's okay. I don't mind spending on you. I got the money." Hisoka halted the protest he knew you were going to start.

"..But just because you do, doesn't mean I should take advantage of you or let yourself be taken advantage of." You replied.

Looking at the cute small crease in between your eyebrows form from your frown, Hisoka smirked more. "It's neither. I told you I'll take care of you. Let me do my job."

"Besides, even if you were taking advantage of me. There's no amount of shopping you could do that will dent my account. That's unless of course you buy something for 38.6 billion dollars. Then you would have to wait for a few days for my bank account to replenish. " He smoothly stated. Hisoka wasn't really egotistical when revealing his bank balance because he was so used to having money like that, but he lowkey was a bit boastful when telling you.

Maybe apart of him wanted you to be impressed by his empire and know that when he said 'I'll take care of you' he truly meant it. He wasn't some fly-by-night boy that goes around telling girls they can take care of them but truly couldn't. Not just you, but Maleeka too.

"I-I assume that's a lot of money?" You questioned, feeling more embarrassed you couldn't remember nor comprehend how much is 38.6 billion dollars.

Transitioning his smirk to a humbled smile, Hisoka lightly nodded. ''It is."

"Hm.." You hummed, before slowly walking back into your room. Hisoka could tell your demeanour changed into a much depressive one ever so suddenly.

After a few hours passing, Hisoka noticed you weren't coming out your room. Knocking lightly on the door, no response was given. Opening the door, Hisoka saw you were sitting at the far end of the room on the floor, by the window. Just like Maleeka.

Soundlessly walking to you, Hisoka sat down next to you, studying your eyes. They were wet, red and filled with distance.

"What's wrong Y/n?" His low voice asked.

Sniffling lightly, you pressed your forehead against the window. "I'm just frustrated.. Apparently I'm some genius, but now I can't even remember or comprehend anything. I don't remember my studies and work. I don't even know the value of money. From a supposed genius to being point blank stupid. It's frustrating Hisoka.. " You couldn't help but cry a bit more.

The Joker wanted nothing more than to wipe your tears away and hold you. You were the only person besides Maleeka, in his past and present he still feels sympathy for and hates seeing you unhappy despite his ruthless personality.

Since he informed you that you and him were just good friends and he wasn't too keen on blurring the boundaries incase it might spook you away, Hisoka gently took your hand and held it assuringly.

"Losing your memories doesn't make you any less intelligent. You will either remember again or learn again Y/n. I am here to help you. Just rely on me for everything. I don't mind." Hisoka genuinely replied. He'll be damned if anyone but you ever heard him talk like this or expose so much emotion.

Through your sniffles, you looked at Hisoka through your blurry eyes. '' Why do you c-care so much?"

Holding your gaze, Hisoka's eyes grew hard.

"..I have never always given you my time and attention Y/n. I should have. But I failed too. I want to make up for lost time. I'm just fulfilling my duties as your best friend. And I really want to take care of you." He said in a soothing undertone, almost slipping up about his seven year absence.

Sitting in tearful silence, you continued to hold Hisoka's still eyes. Feeling a wave of instinctive gratitude flood your senses, you scooted over in between Hisoka's legs and dived for a hug - wrapping your arms around his neck. "Thank you for being here Hisoka.. I'd feel so helpless and lost without you." You whispered against his ear. Genuinely trusting him now. Oh, if only you knew the manipulation tactic. Him installing a dependency mentality onto you. Yes, he was genuine with his words, but Hisoka was smart. He knew how to mould you into getting his desired outcome. However, his actions and words this time around seemed to be coming from his heart. Maybe it wasn't him trying to create dependency, but solely him wanting to do everything and anything for you to ease his guilt for failing to be there for you.

Unable to resist, the feeling of happiness surged throughout his veins. You were finally in his arms willingly.

Letting his instinct take over and his feelings overwhelm him. Hisoka hugged you back immediately. Unaware that his left hand slipped underneath your shirt - pushing and pressing your body desperately against his chest. With his right hand placed at the back of your head, Hisoka buried his fingers deeper into your hair, almost lightly clutching it dearly - pressing your face against his neck even more. Like a desperate lover giving his partner a last hug.

His entire body language and actions depicted how deprived he was of your body and presence against his. The countless of years imagining this moment finally came.

The longer he had you against him, the more each cell in his body lit up. His old Joker self was gradually being awaken and the suffocating weight on his shoulders were finally lifted. He just needed you..

You were still his one true weakness and strength.

"I'll always be here with you Y/n." He whispered back, hugging you even tighter. This time he genuinely meant it. He wasn't going anywhere, and you most definitely weren't leaving either.
