6x03 JAGGED LITTLE TAPESTRY ~
••••••

Lexi found herself walking towards the choir room for the first Glee meeting of the school year. As she was walking, she was joined by Sam who was making his way to the boys locker room. The two of them had been hanging out again, and yes, they were very well, still hooking up every few days, releasing tension, and using each other as alternative pain relief.

"Hey." Lexi smiled.

"Hey." Sam smiled back.

"How's your day been so far?" She asked, deciding to break the ice that day.

"Good, yours?" Sam asked, as they stopped walking so they could look at each other.

"Also good...had to send a few students to detention, but other than that, it's all going smoothly." She rambled.

"I'm glad to hear." He nodded, both of them laughing quietly. "I don't recall us ever getting detention."

"We were good kids." She shrugged. "I do recall Mr. Schue suspended Marley, because she didn't wear the provocative clothes back on Katy vs Gaga week...and he suspended me." She sighed.

"You never did anything wrong, you know that, right?" Sam asked, knowing that she felt guilty about her outburst almost two years before.

"I know." Lexi nodded. "I just think about the whole thing from time to time." She admitted.

"Well, if I'm being honest. I thought you never looked hotter in that moment." He teased.

"Oh really?" She asked, teasing in return. "When you performed Centerfold/Hot in Herre, I'll admit to being a little turned on."

"You did, did you?" He asked.

"I really did." She nodded, as she looked up at him. They found themselves getting lost in each other's eyes again. It had been happening a lot more frequently.

"So..." Sam coughed awkwardly, breaking eye contact. "Are we still good to go out for dinner tonight?"

"Yeah. I'm all game for that." Lexi smiled softly, snapping out of her trance.

"Great, I'll meet you at Breadstix tonight at six then." Sam smiled, leaning down and pressing a quick kiss to her lips, before he walked in the other direction. She frowned, because they only kissed if they were hooking up, and letting off steam. But this, this was different. Why? She was racking her brain for answers, and explanations. For now, all she could say was that it felt right.

As soon as Sam had turned down the corridor in a sort of trance, he suddenly realized what he'd done. He'd kissed Lexi, and not because they were letting off tension or steam. It was an instinct, and he subconsciously did it. He hoped that this wouldn't set an awkward atmosphere for them at their dinner that night.
----------
The first Glee meeting of the year had gone somewhat smoothly. Although, Kurt and Rachel were having a semi-argument while they tried to collaborate and teach the class. Lexi overheard them say something like "why are you interrupting me?" amongst the various things. It was a little chaotic and unreasonable.

One thing she loved about this week's assignment was that it was a mashup of Jagged Little Pill and Tapestry. It was a creative and beautiful idea, and Brittany and Santana volunteered to start the week off tomorrow which Kurt and Rachel had agreed to immediately.

As Lexi, and Quinn were walking down the hallway when Becky stopped them. They had been hanging out and catching up between some of Lexi's free time, when she wasn't with Sam, or Blaine, or anyone else. In fact, Quinn had helped her coach Cheerios and assisted in biology that past week. To sum it up, she was a great help, and their friendship bond was as strong as ever.

"Becky" Lexi said, with a small smile. "I thought you were in college."

"I am, idiot." Becky replied, causing Lexi to stand back. "I came back because I'm in trouble. I need help." She confessed, as the two older girls exchanged glances. "I met a guy named Darrell, and now he's my boyfriend. And I'm madly in love."

"Well, that's amazing." Quinn smiled, only to have Becky interject.

"Shut up. I know. I brought him home to Lima so he can meet my parents."

"Okay, so what's the problem?" Lexi asked, a little confused.

"Bitch! The problem is that I lied to him. I told Darrell that I was the president of every club at school."

Becky, that's an insane web of lies." Quinn pointed out.

"I know, whore. But that's not the worst part. I told him that I was in Glee Club." The girl continued.

"Wait, why would you tell him that?" Lexi asked.

"Because he was in Glee Club in high school, and I want to impress him by my singing voice. You got to let me sing at the glee club when Darrell comes to school tomorrow.

"Becky, we will do whatever it takes to help you." Quinn assured.

"Thanks, Kitty." Becky smiled, before walking away from them.

Quinn frowned, slightly annoyed with being called Kitty for what felt like the hundredth time. She shook it off and turned to Lexi who was snacking on a red pepper, why? There was no explanation.

"Hey, you okay?" She asked.

"I've been going through a phase lately, where I've been eating a lot of food, and that's not me being biased." Lexi answered, once she had finished chewing.

"Have you by chance, been having any cravings?" Quinn asked, with a slight frown. She had noticed some things with her friend lately, and frankly, she was concerned.

"No...why would you ask that?" Lexi scoffed quietly, as she pulled out a bag of grapes from her bag.

"I thought that you might be...you know..." Quinn stammered.

"Oh god no." Lexi shook her head. "That ain't happening...this is just a phase of consuming a little more food than usual. It's nothing more."

"Are you sure?"

"Just walk, Fabray." Lexi joked gently, as both of them laughed, heading down the hallway.
----------

Lexi and Sam sat at a booth in Breadstix that night, chatting and eating their dinner together. It wasn't a date, but both of them suspected that they'd end up at one or the other's house by the end of the evening.

After some minutes of silence, Sam decided to bring up the thing that had been on both of their minds lately. The one important and lingering question.

"Okay, so I'm just going to ask...what are we?" Sam asked, as Lexi looked up from her plate of pasta.

"You mean, where are we standing relationship wise?" Lexi asked, needing some clarification.

"Yeah." Sam nodded. "Because..." He paused, arguing with himself if he should say the words. "Because, I still love you, Lexi. I'm still in love with you, and this hook up thing? It's no longer feeling like we're letting out steam, or tension out. It's no longer alternative pain relief. It's starting to feel a lot more meaningful than that...I'm getting the same feeling I got when we were together." He explained, as she listened to all his words, trying to process every word that was coming out of his mouth. "And that same feeling is something I want to name..."

Lexi took a few moments, before she looked back at him. "Okay..." She finally answered, as he sent her a small genuine smiling. "I'll admit that I'm still in love with you too...and that, I've been feeling the same way as you about our hookups..."

"Really?" Sam asked, a glimmer of hope in his eyes.

"Really." She nodded, taking a sip of her water.

"Oh good." He let out a sigh of relief, as she chuckled. "I really needed to get out how I've been feeling about you lately, but I never knew how or when to do it."

"I have too. You're not alone in that, Sam." She smiled, as she went back to eating her food.

"So just to be clear, we're labeling that we're semi-officially back together?" Sam asked, wanting to ensure he knew what they were before spreading the news everywhere.

"You could say that, yeah." Lexi agreed, laughing when Sam smirked slightly at her. Both of them were relieved to have that lingering label and relationship question sorted out.

"On a different note, what's with all the food, Lex?" He asked, a little concerned at the amount of food she was consuming.

"I've just been really hungry lately." She shrugged. "It's just a phase, Sam. I can guarantee you that."

"Okay then." Sam replied, as Lexi sent him a reassuring smile.

{Hand In My Pocket/I Feel the Earth Move - Sung by Santana Lopez and Brittany S. Pierce}

Santana and Brittany were the first to perform a song for Glee Club that week. They had chosen to do a mashup of I Feel the Earth move by Carole King, and Hand in My Pocket by Alanis Moresseitte. It was a lovely and energetic mashup, and great introduction for the assignment.

And only, Lexi was aware of what surprise Santana had planned for after the performance. Everyone else, like Brittany, were oblivious to what was coming.

"And that is how a mash-up is done, everyone." Rachel smiled, clapping her hands.

"No, actually this is." Santana spoke up, as she pulled a chair to the middle of the room for Brittany. She turned to her girlfriend. "Britt, can you take a seat?" She asked, as Brittany complied, sitting down and waiting for her to continue.

"So, I figure that this is as good a place as any to ask you this question." Santana said, facing Brittany, so her back was to their friends. "Um, mainly because it's gonna really upset all the single guys and gals in here. But.... I want to mash up with you forever, Britt. I mean, some people love someone because they make them a better person. And that's not why I love you, because you've always wanted me to be myself. You're my favorite person in the whole world, and we're a big deal, you know? Like, no matter how many times we've tried to put our thing down, and walk away from it, we can't because I don't want to live my life without my one true love. And....I normally use a lot of words when I'm saying negative, so since this is the most positive thing I'm ever gonna do, I'm gonna keep it simple."

After she said those words, Santana got down on one knee, causing everyone to gasp at the sight in front of them. Lexi felt a smile growing on her face as she squeezed Quinn's hand in anticipation.

"Brittany S. Pierce... Will you marry me?"

Lexi squealed quietly, being the only one aware of what was unfolding. Tina, Quinn, and Rachel smiled, and giggled at the sight, while Kurt sat looking unimpressed. Some of the others, including Roderick, were quite confused as to what was going on.

"Wait, what is happening?" He asked.

"This kind of thing happened in here all the time." Puck answered, still making it confusing for the guy.

"Oh, my god." Brittany let out a little gasp, as she saw Santana pull out the velvet ring box. "I would love to."

"Really?" Santana asked, a little shocked, although a smile tugged at her lips.

"I would love to." Brittany nodded, confirming her answer, as Santana laughed, pulling her fiance into her arms as they kissed. Everyone, excluding Kurt clapped and cheered for the newly engaged couple.

"I'm sorry, I-I just have to speak now or forever hold my peace." Kurt interrupted the celebration.

"Um, normally you save that kind of thing for the wedding." Quinn pointed out, clueless as to why the man was upset with the engagement.

"Did you learn nothing from me and Blaine?" He asked. "We're too young to get married. All of us." He continued with his concerns.

"You're just bitter because of your breakup. Try to be happy for them. They don't need a lecture." Lexi commented in a low voice, before turning her attention back to the couple.

Santana sent Kurt a deadly glare, ready to launch herself at him, but Tina spoke up, stopping her from doing so.

"As somebody who has lived their life jealously attacking the happiness of others, even I can't hate this engagement. You guys are perfect together." She smiled.

"I have to agree with Tina. You girls are soulmates and endgame." Lexi smiled, wiping her tears that had fallen.

"Thank you." Santana nodded gratefully, laughing when Lexi rushed up to them for a hug. Everyone eventually made their way in to see Brittany's ring, forgetting about Kurt's objections. Well, Santana Lopez never forgot anything. And if you knew her well, she was going to deal with Kurt's objections after. She had unfinished business, you could say, but for now, she chose to celebrate with the group.

Lexi decided to pay a visit to the nurses office that night. She was starting to worry about the amount of food she had been consuming, and hoped that the nurse could give her answers.

"Ah, Ms. Torres." The nurse smiled, as Lexi walked in through the door.

"Oh." Lexi waved her off with a scoff. "Call me Lexi."

"Lexi." The nurse nodded, as Lexi walked up to the desk area. "I've been wondering if you'd come to see me."

"You have?" Lexi frowned slightly.

"Well, I've seen changes in your body...and you've gained some weight, you've been eating a little more."

"Wow, I didn't know this was somewhat mutual. Do you like, stalk me?" Lexi asked, jokingly. She realized what she'd said, and sighed, shaking her head.

"M-mutual?" The nurse asked, confused.

"This is really awkward." Lexi admitted, chuckling quietly.

"Are you here for a check up? Or because of your pregnancy?" The nurse asked.

"Not pregnant." Lexi laughed in disbelief. "No. No. I've just gained a little weight." She answered, as if she was trying to assure herself of the changes. "No, and I'm not coming for a check up." She assured the nurse. "I've been consuming more food than usual...and feeling these curiosities...well, uh, surges if you will." She rambled nervously.

"Ah yes, sexual cravings are intense during most pregnancies."

"I-I'm not pregnant." Lexi repeated. "No...." She shook her head again. "I've just been eating a lot...Sam eats a lot." She pointed out."Listen, uh..." She paused when the realization hit her.

"Oh my god...." She mumbled, once she'd finally recovered from the shock.

"When did you have your last period, Lexi?" The nurse asked, although Lexi was too shocked to answer.

"Oh my god." She repeated, knowing that she was pregnant. Her mind was racing at a rapid speed, as she tried to process everything.
