Chapter 7- Helping Maya through a rough patch

It's after shift and Maya has thought about what she is going to say to her mum. Casey drives her to the hospital and they arrive a short time later
"Can you come in?" Maya asks
"Sure!" Casey says getting out the car
"You can do this!" Casey says reassuringly
They walk in and walk into Mayas mums room
"Hey mum! I know you can't talk back to me but I know you can hear me!" Maya says sitting down
"God this is harder then I thought! I guess what I wanna say is thank you! For always sticking by my side even when I had lost my self! You always saw the good in people even when they couldn't see it them selfs! I love you mum! I never got to tell you that enough!" Maya says with tears in her eyes
Casey comes over and stands next to her
"Matts here!" Maya says smiling
"Hey! Mrs Avery! You can go now! And don't you worry! I'll take good care of your daughter! She will be safe with me!" Casey says looking down at Maya
"And I'll look after Dad and Dean! I'll make sure there not too sad because I know you don't like people making a fuss over you!" Maya says taking her mums hand
"You can go to sleep now mum! Go and get that much needed rest! Build us a lovely house up there and I'll be there as soon as I can! Then we can be together!" Maya says just before the monitor starts beeping
The doctors run in but it's too late
"Time of death 17:20" The doctor says
Maya let's the tears roll down her face but doesn't say anything. She zones out for a second and remembers all the good times she had with her mum. Like the coffee dates and the shopping trips
"Let's get you home" Casey says with a warm smile on his face
"Okay" Maya says with a shaky voice
They drive back to Mayas place and Casey walks her up the stairs. Casey turns to walk away
"Matt!" Maya shouts
"Yeah?" Casey says as he turns around
"Can you stay with me tonight? It's just Boden and Herrmann are at mollys doing some things" Maya says
"Of course I can!" Casey says walking in and closing the door
Maya gets changed and sits on the couch next to Casey. They watch a movie and after a while Maya falls asleep on Casey and shortly after Casey falls asleep too. Herman walks in along with Boden
"Shhh!" Herrmann says
"There the cutest" Boden says smiling
