***Laxus's p.o.v***
"Oh no, his leg is shaking," Ever commented.
"Somebody's worried about his sister," Bickslow teased.
"Bickslow leave him be, he's allowed to be worried," Freed commented.
"May will be fine, you all worry too much," Bickslow reassured.
"It's her first ever solo mission," Ever argued.
"And she was supposed to be back hours ago," Freed added.
"But this is May we're talking about. She can kick butt just as easily as Laxus. She's fine. You guys are being ridiculous worrying so much about her," Bickslow argued.
That's when Laxus had enough.
"You realize I can hear you guys right?" I growled across the table at them.
"Yup," Bickslow smirked.
"Sorry Laxus," Freed apologized.
I sighed, sitting up straighter and turned my gaze to the guild doors.
"Where is she?" I questioned, more to myself.
"Maybe she ran into trouble?" Ever stated unsurely.
"If she did, whoever caused it is going to have hell to pay," I growled.
"Maybe we should check with Master Makarov on the mission?" Freed suggested.
I sighed, "No, May didn't want us to know the mission so she could be assured she'd do it on her own."
"Perhaps the mission just took longer than expected," Freed suggested, trying to ease the tension.
"May did say she'd call us if anything went wrong," Ever agreed, gesturing to the lacrima in front of them.
Bickslow rolled his eyes, crossing his arms, "Guys, you're worrying over nothing."
Just then, the lacrima at the table started buzzing, gaining the table's attention.
"See," Bickslow confirmed, gesturing to the lacrima as Laxus rushed to answer it.
"Hello? May?" I questioned.
A very distressed May showed up on the lacrima screen.
"Umm, Laxus?" May uttered out.
"May what's wrong? Are you alright? Are you hurt? If your hurt, I'll-" I started standing up.
"I'm lost!" May shouted distressed.
Well, this caught the group off guard.
"What?" I questioned.
"I can't find the guildhall or our house," May spoke distressed.
"Wait, you're in Magnolia?" I gapped at her.
"I've been in Magnolia since this morning," May answered upset.
"This morning?! It's midafternoon! You've been lost for that long?" Ever exclaimed in shock.
"Why didn't you call us sooner?" Bickslow questioned.
"I wanted to find my way back on my own," May croaked, tears falling from her cheeks.
"Hey, it's okay May, we'll find you. Just stay where you are, ok?" I reassured her, standing up straight to leave.
May nodded wiping her tears before I hung up.
Ever and Bickslow stood up as well, but Freed stopped them all.
"Hold on a second," Freed said placing his hand to his chin as his eyebrows drew together in thought.
"Don't you think this happens a lot?" Freed questioned.
"What do you mean Freed?" Ever questioned confused.
"Once or twice is understandable, but haven't you ever noticed that it seems that whenever May's on her own she always seems to get lost?" Freed questioned.
Everyone stopped, pondering it.
"Now that you mention it, May always seems to get herself lost," Evergreen commented.
"Yeah, she even took a wrong turn leading us to the guild on Christmas," Bickslow muttered.
"You think there might be a reason?" I questioned Freed.
"Possibly. Once we find May, we can ask Porlyusica about it," Freed stated standing up as well and joining the rest of us.
I nodded, "Let's go."
***Timeskip***
We stood outside Porlyusica's hut waiting impatiently as Porlyusica inspected May.
Suddenly, the door opened and Porlyusica walked out with May timidly behind her, looking upset.
"So?" I questioned.
"Well, I figured out what's wrong," Porlyusica responded as our attention drew to her.
"It's nothing harmful, but she has directional dyslexia. Basically, she can't tell the difference between her lefts and rights, which can get her lost often. As I said nothing harmful, she'll just need someone with her so she can get back safely without losing her way," Porlyusica explained.
I nodded in relief as the others sighed in relief as well.
"That's good, thank you Porlyusica," Freed said politely.
Porlyusica nodded before she left, closing the door to her hut behind her as we headed back to the guild.
May trotted behind us sadly, looking rather upset.
I smiled softly, slowing my pace to walk beside her.
"Don't be so down May, cheer up. Everything's fine," I said patting her head.
"But there's something wrong with me," May muttered upset.
"We all have flaws May, it's only natural, there's nothing wrong with you," I reassured her.
This didn't seem to cheer up May at all unfortunately as May mumbled, "Easy for you to say, you guys are perfect."
I huffed in amusement, Bickslow outright cackled, Ever snorted, and Freed chuckled in amusement at her statement.
May glanced at us in surprise.
"We, are not perfect," Ever chuckled.
"Far from it," I added.
"That's for sure," Bickslow cackled.
"We all have parts of us we aren't proud of," Freed told her.
"What parts of you aren't you proud of?" May questioned worriedly.
We all chuckled nervously.
"Well, it wouldn't hurt to share," I mumbled.
Turning to her, I spoke, "Well, I've always had a bad temper I'm not proud of."
"I'm a terrible procrastinator at cleaning," Bickslow chuckled nervously.
"I can be a brat sometimes," Ever confessed.
"Sometimes?" Bickslow, Freed, and I exasperated.
"Hey!" Ever shouted back.
May turned to Freed who chuckled, nervously scratching the back of his head.
"I- I tend to overthink things. Which usually leads me to jump to conclusions, a lot," Freed confessed.
May looked down.
"I don't have a lot of confidence in myself, and I also get lost, a lot," May confessed looking back up at us with a smile.
We smiled back.
"See, we all have our flaws," I said patting her head.
May nodded with a smile.
"Thank you guys for telling me," May smiled gratefully.
"Of course May!" Bickslow grinned.
"Anything to help cheer you up," Freed smiled.
"It was worth it to see you happy," Ever responded.
May blushed.
"Alright, let's head back to the guild," I spoke up.
The others nodded in agreement as we reached the edge of the East Forest.
May suddenly turn right, heading the wrong way. I grabbed the back of her hood and lifted her up, turning her around.
"The guild's this way," I chuckled, placing her on the ground next to me, now facing the left side.
May blushed embarrassed and followed beside us as we headed back to the guild.
"From now on, somebody's sticking with you on missions," I smiled at her.
She blushed.
"So May, how did your mission go?" I asked her.
"Yeah, did you kick some butt?" Bickslow grinned.
"Yeah! I kicked lots of butt! It was easy, and the clients were so nice!" May beamed.
"Well, that's good," Freed smiled.
"Yeah, Laxus was going to tear apart the guildhall if something happened to you," Ever chuckled.
"I wasn't that bad!" I retorted.
They all laughed happily as I grumbled at them with a smile.
