Cheryl rested on the couch with Hunter on her chest while she watched a movie on the TV.
It's been a month since Hunter was born, the newest addition to the family brings them so much joy.
Right now Toni was at practice, so it was just her, Hunter, and Nala. The husky laid on the ground beside Cheryl's feet, her protective demeanor coming to play.
Hunter let out a small whine making his mother pout, "What's wrong, Hunter?" She asked, gently cradling the boy in her arms. He was hungry.
Cheryl grabbed the warm bottle that sat on the coffee table before replacing the pacifier with the bottle. He instantly began to drink, his tiny hand coming up to cover Cheryl's hand.
"You're just the cutest, baby boy!" She smiled, playing with his brown curls.
Hunter cooed when Cheryl removed the bottle once the milk was gone. She rested him on her shoulder, patting his back gently so she can get him to burp.
He let out a big one making Cheryl giggle, "Wow, baby!" She laughed, sitting him down on her lap.
The boy stared at her blankly, his blue eyes mesmerizing her as she placed him down into his rocker.
"It's naptime, my precious boy. Mommy has to pump more milk." She said, making sure he's buckled in, and placed his pacifier back into his mouth but the boy spit it out and started to cry.
"Hey, Hunty, baby. Don't cry, mommy's not going anywhere." The redhead pouts, picking him up again. The boy continued to cry and Cheryl huffed, picking up his pacifier. She rushed to the kitchen to clean it off before placing it in the boy's mouth.
When his cries subsided to small whimpers, Cheryl gently swayed around the living room, just to keep him quiet.
She heard keys jiggling in the door, making her smile. Her wife was finally home!
"Cher?" The brunette called as she took off her dirty soccer cleats.
"Hi, girl!" She greeted their husky. "Baby?" She called once more.
Cheryl made her way to the door, a smile on her face, "Hey, baby." She whispered, leaning forward to kiss her cheek.
"Hey, my love." Toni smiled, looking down at Hunter who was slowly falling asleep in Cheryl's arms.
"Is my little king grumpy?" Toni pouted at the boy. He was also fighting to keep his eyes open.
Cheryl sighed, "I tried to place him down for a nap, and he started screaming! He has a set of lungs." She scoffed.
"I just need to pump milk for him, " Cheryl groaned.
"Alright, baby. Let me shower first, then I'll take over, kay?" Toni said.
Cheryl nodded and Toni kissed her forehead before rushing upstairs. Cheryl sat down with Hunter, patting his backside gently to keep him calm.
The tiny brunette blinked as he fought to keep his eyes open, "Hunty, don't fight your sleep." She whispered.
When Toni returned downstairs, Hunter was whining and Cheryl was trying to calm the restless boy down.
"Alright, baby, I got it from here," Toni said, holding her arms out.
Cheryl sighed, gently handing Toni their son. "Why you gave mommy such a hard time huh?" Toni whispered.
Hunter's whining stops as Toni gently rocks him side to side, "How did you get him to hush so fast?" Cheryl asked when she returned with the breast milk pump.
"That's because he's a momma's boy! Aren't you a momma's boy, Hunty?" Toni smiled down at the 1-month-old. He closes his little eyes and Toni giggled lowly, leaning down to kiss his forehead, "Momma loves you, " She said.
Cheryl smiled, watching the moment. There was never a time where she didn't catch Toni talking to him, and whenever she does it's the cutest thing she ever laid eyes on.
"Once he's down I could make us some lunch, we could have a little lunch date." Toni smiled at her wife.
"Sounds good to me, baby." The redhead smiled.
Toni gently placed their son down in his rocker, hushing him when he showed a look of discomfort.
"What should I make?" Toni asked, sitting down beside Cheryl who placed the now filled bottles on to the coffee table.
"Uhm...I'm in the mood for some macaroni and nuggets..." The redhead smirked.
"Keep putting on that smirk and you'll be my lunch..." Toni said, getting up and leaving Cheryl with a blushing face.
********
Toni placed soft kisses on Cheryl's neck and the redhead giggling lowly every time the soft plump lips touched her neck.
The couple had their mini lunch date, and they went up to their bedroom after Toni laid Hunter down in his nursery.
"How did we go from watching a movie to this?" Cheryl asked.
Toni shrugged, continuing her delicate kisses. The brunette started to go lower, littering love bites on Cheryl's pale neck and chest.
Cheryl let out a soft moan, pulling Toni's face-up to kiss her slowly. Toni tilted her head, deepening the kiss before pulling away and continuing her kisses down her chest.
Toni moved to zip down Cheryl's sweater making the redhead stop her.
"What's wrong?" The brunette asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Mm? Oh...nothing, it's nothing, TT. Can...can we just finish the movie?" She cleared her throat.
Toni knew something was up but before she could ask her wife what was bothering her, Hunter started to cry from his room.
Toni pressed the button on the monitor, "Okay, baby, I'm coming." She said and left the room.
Cheryl quickly grabbed her phone, opening Betty's contact.
Cheryl[3:12 PM]: I'm freaking out!
Betts💚[3:14]: Cheryl, Toni loves you more than anything. She doesn't care about your body weight or size, she loves you for you.
Cheryl[3:14]: I just...what if she gets disgusted? I mean, my pregnancy bump is finally going down...
Betts💚[3:15]: That's because literally 4 weeks ago you gave birth!😃
Betts💚[3:15]: How about you talk to your wife about your concerns? I'm sure she can reassure you better than I can.
Cheryl[3:16]: Yeah...I'll talk to her...if she brings it up again.
Betts💚[3:17]: Alright❤️🩹
Toni entered the room with Hunter in her arms. "Look who wanted to see mommy!" Toni smiled.
"Hi, baby boy!" The red-haired mother smiled, taking her son from his momma.
"Oye, you're wide awake huh? Did you sleep well?" Cheryl cooed.
Toni smiled watching them together, "What movie were we watching?" Toni asked, grabbing her PS5 controller.
Cheryl brought it for her on her birthday last month, the brunette was extremely excited when she opened the day they got home from the hospital.
"Uhm...I don't remember, " Cheryl blushed. What? When a very sexy woman is kissing on your neck, you tend to lose track of things.
"Oh well, I'll just pick another one." She chuckled, clicking on another movie. Cheryl sighed when she felt Hunter straining, "He needs a diaper change." She said, standing up and going into Hunter's nursery.
When Cheryl returned, Hunter was wrapped in a blanket, his little eyes staring up his mother's matching ones.
"Did I miss anything important?" Cheryl asked. Toni shook her head and cleared her throat, "What was that about?" She asked.
Cheryl's stomach filled with nerves as she avoids eye contact with Toni. "W-What are you talking about?" She asked, fixing Hunter's little hat.
"Come on, Cher. You know exactly what I'm talking about!" Toni said, careful not to startle Hunter.
Cheryl shook her head, "It was nothing, TT. I just wasn't in the mood, that's all."
Toni raised her eyebrow, "Babe, you know you can't lie to me right?"
Cheryl kept her eyes on the precious boy in her arms, tears pricking at them.
"Cher..." Toni whispered, gently taking the boy from her wife's arms and placing him down in the side bed they had for him.
Cheryl quickly wiped her tears away, "I-I'm sorry." She sniffled.
"Baby, you don't need to apologize. I just want to know what's going on." Toni said, caressing her pale cheek.
Cheryl looks up at her, letting another tear roll down her cheek, leaning into her hand on her cheek.
"I feel...I feel like once you see my body after pregnancy...you won't like it. I just-I feel-"
"Insecure?" Toni piped in, wiping away the redhead's salty tears. Cheryl nodded, looking down in her lap.
"Baby, you have to know that you are the most beautiful, sexiest, prettiest, attractive woman I've ever laid eyes on in my 26 years of living. You're so smart and funny, anyone would kill to be you." Toni said.
"I don't care about what other people think. I just care about what you think..." Cheryl mumbled with a sniffle.
"Well, you want me to tell you my honest opinion of you?" Toni smirked. Cheryl nodded, bracing herself.
"Cheryl...when I think of your name, I think about how caring you are. How you put others first and jump to help others in need. I think about those capturing blue eyes, the ones that I fell in love with, the ones you gave our son. I think about your smile...lord knows when I see that smile all my worries melt away, and I fall in love with you all over again. I think about your soft lips, how they feel against mine, and the fire they cause in the pit of my stomach when we kiss. I think about how you can light up my whole day just by saying one word about your job or when you see something you enjoy and your eyes light up. I think about my Cheryl, my wife, my best friend." Toni listed, wiping away the flowing tears on Cheryl's cheek.
"I can't express how much you make me feel, baby. I need you to know that I don't care about that stuff, I don't care about your small back pains because then I get to take care of you, I don't care about the baby bump because, surprise, you just had a baby! I know this may take a while to get used to, but you don't have to worry about me being 'disgusted' about this. It just makes me think about how strong you are, and I admire that so much! When it's my turn to carry our future children, you'll get to see me in that same light, and I promise you that you will see how strong you really are, baby." Toni tucked ginger hair behind Cheryl's ear.
Cheryl looked into her wife's eyes, finding nothing but compassion and love. Cheryl giggled through her tears, "I-I don't know what I was so worried about."
"It's fine to have these thoughts, and I need you to know that you can come to me whenever you feel that way. Okay?" Toni said.
"I love you, TT. Without you I'd probably be that shy redhead all my life, so thank you." Cheryl said.
"I love you more, baby. And thank you for letting me love you in your darkest moments." The brunette said.
Cheryl leaned in to kiss the brunette, making Toni pull her closer, craving the redhead's touch just as much Cheryl was craving hers.
Hunter started to cry making the couple pull away with a giggle, "It's okay, Hunty." Cheryl said, going around to pick up their fussy boy.
Hunter finally stops crying once Cheryl unwraps him from his swaddle. The boy stretched his tiny limbs out with a adorable grunt.
"He's just so adorable!" Toni giggles, playing with his little toes.
*********
~Next day~
Cheryl buckled Hunter into his car seat, being sure to put his pacifier in his mouth.
"All safe and sound." The redhead smiled, kissing his tiny forehead before gently shutting the door.
They had to take him to his doctor's appointment where they will give him his shots. Toni was dreading this appointment ever since they called the new parents to inform them about it.
"What if he cries?" Toni sighed when Cheryl got into the car.
"Then we will be right there to comfort him, baby. He's our strong boy!" Cheryl said, pecking Toni's lips.
Toni instantly relaxed and nodded her head, "Okay..."
"Oh, and don't forget while we're out there we're getting his ears pierced, better to get it over with now." Cheryl shrugged.
"Gah! My baby boy is going to be stuck with so many needles today and now you want him to be stuck with two more! In his ear lobes?! That's evil, Cher. Evil." Toni said once she stopped at a red light.
Cheryl chuckled, looking in the rearview mirror at their sleeping newborn, "He'll be fine! He has Topaz blood, and formerly, Blossom blood. He's strong." Cheryl said.
Toni rolled her eyes, "Wait until I tell him about how his mother is planning his pain!"
"Quit being so dramatic!" Cheryl giggled.
Toni rolled her eyes, continuing to drive down the road, her hand on Cheryl's thigh.
Once they arrive at the hospital, Toni unclips the car seat and carries it into the hospital, Cheryl's hand in her free one.
"Afternoon, ladies." The woman at the desk smiled at them.
"Good afternoon, we have an appointment, " Cheryl returned the friendly smile.
"Patient's name?" She asked, typing at the computer.
"Hunter Topaz, " Toni spoke up.
"Okay, wait in the waiting room, Dr. Mackenzie should be out soon." She told them.
"Thank you."
Toni took a seat, taking Hunter out of his car seat. Cheryl smiled, watching the boy squirm in his momma's arms.
"You're gonna be in a lot of pain today, papa, but I promise that I will be there to comfort you." Toni whispered, fixing his hat.
"Hunter Topaz!?" The doctor called.
"Right here, " Cheryl said, grabbing his car seat while Toni carried Hunter into the room the doctor led them to.
"Hello, ladies, I'm Dr. Mackenzie. I will be Hunter's doctor until age 18." She told them, sorting through papers.
Cheryl nodded and Toni laid the blanket down on the bed before gently resting Hunter there.
"So from my documents he will be getting 2 shots." She told the couple.
"Oye, why so much?" Toni pouted, letting Hunter play with her finger.
"It's his 1-month-old shots,." She explained.
"Oh, " Toni frowned. Dr. Mackenzie got everything ready, slipping on her gloves.
"Okay, just keep his hands together so he doesn't move." She told Toni.
The brunette took a deep breath while she stuck the needle into Hunter. The baby cried out and kicked his legs.
"I know, papa, I know. It'll be over soon." Toni cooed, using her free hand to caress his head.
Cheryl felt bad for the boy, but he had to get them. "Just one more, Hunty," Cheryl cooed.
He was turning red from all of his crying, "There, all done!" The doctor smiled, placing the 'paw patrol' bandage on his arm.
Toni frowned as she picked up her distraught son, "Shh, shh, it's okay." She gently rocked him. Cheryl gave Toni his pacifier, the brunette placing it in his mouth and his cries instantly died down.
"The pain should subside in about 2 hours. Just make sure he eats, and he'll be fine." She said.
"Okay, thank you." Cheryl smiled, signing the papers Dr. Mackenzie gave her.

Cheryl sat on her phone while Toni fed Hunter. They were in the parking lot at Claire's, but Hunter had to eat first.
"Can't we do this another time? I hate seeing him cry." Toni pleaded.
"Baby, whenever we do it, he's still gonna cry." Cheryl chuckled.
"Don't you feel bad when you hear his little whimpers?"
"All the time, baby. But we have to get this over with, okay?" Cheryl said, "It'll only take 5 minutes." She adds.
After Toni got Hunter to burp, the couple made their way into claire's. "Hi, we'd like to get our son's ears pierced," Cheryl spoke to the woman.
"Over there to your left." She instructed them.
Once they made it to the back, the guy asked them to choose what earring they wanted. Cheryl pointed to a pair of diamond ones, and Toni agreed.
"Just take a seat there, and hold his arms." He explained, cleaning the needle gun.
"1,2,3." He fired it, fixing the earring. Hunter let out a grunt and Toni sighed with relief when he didn't cry.
1,2,3." He fired it again, fixing the earring. "All done." He smiled at the boy.
Toni turned him around so he'd be facing her, "Thank you, " Cheryl smiled, paying the man.
"No problem. And uhm, I was wondering if I could get a picture? My daughter is a huge soccer fan, and she has 2 posters of you on her bedroom wall." He chuckled.
"Of course, " Toni nodded, gently handing Hunter to Cheryl.
They took the picture, "Also, congratulations!" He nodded at them.
"Thank you so much." Toni smiled and they left the store.
