Carter's p.o.v
I ran into the emergency room of the hospital as I saw Kendra's brothers and our friends gathered at the waiting area.
"What happened? What's going on? Where is she?" I yelled frustrated as everyone looked at me. I was panicking deep inside, I didn't know what to do, I just found her after so long and here I am about to lose her once more.
I looked over at Aria as she cried profusely into Devon's chest.
"Kendra and I were supposed to go to her office together today" she said with a sob.
"I was waiting for her downstairs, but she didn't come down, I was worried because she was always on time and never late, so I called her, but she wouldn't pick upppp" she said crying.
"I went upstairs to her apartment and when she didn't open the door, I got worried because I thought something bad had happened to her heart, so I-I-I pulled out the emergency key from the hidden section and I went in" she said as she started crying harder.
"Aria what happened goddamn it" I said angrily and scared.
"I was so scared Carter, I thought we had lost her, she was lying there at the corner of her room on the ground bleeding and lying there lifelessly. Something was seriously wrong though, her veins, they were blue" she said crying out loud as she hugged Devon again.
I combed my hands through my hair as I felt despair run over me. I couldn't lose her again, not so early, it was too soon.
We sat down in the waiting room of the hospital for a few hours and still there was no word from the doctors. After a few more hours the LAPD showed up, they had already gotten evidence from her room, now they were here to get a statement from Ari seeing that she was the one who found her.
We waited for another hour before finally the surgery lights went off and the doctor stepped out of the room.
We all crowded him immediately hoping to get good news from him.
"Family of Sanders?" he asked as Devon nodded his head at him signalling him to speak.
"I'm afraid it doesn't look too good. The good news is that she survived, the bad news is that we have no idea what was injected into her system before she was knocked unconscious, we have tested it with every known drug we could obtain in this short amount of time but couldn't get a match. The drug is reacting with her body in a way that we don't fully quite understand, but we know for sure its not helping her case because she rejected almost every medication, we had put her on while in the surgery. Apart from that she sustained a crack to her skull which was caused probably by a hard blow to the head, there are a few worries about her spine at the moment, but that will heal in time. What I would like to talk about now is her heart, obviously this was a huge deal, so it caused a large strain to her heart, we had to replace her IUD with a new one and I'm afraid to say that if she doesn't get a transplant sooner or later, she may not survive for much longer. We tried our best Mr Sanders but at the moment Ms Sanders is in a coma and we don't know when or if she will wake up. Our concern is whatever was injected to her because it is causing a negative reaction with drugs given to her" The doctor finally concluded leaving us all dumbfounded.
I turned around as I took a sit on the chair closest to me, I could faintly hear the girls crying as I held my head in my hand. I had a faint idea on who would be doing this to her, but I knew that was impossible because if it were really him then she'd be dead by now.
"How long?" I heard Killian ask frustratedly tears in his eyes.
"How long doctor?" I heard Stephen yell angrily as he wiped angry tears from his eyes.
"I would say two to three months."
Kendra's p.o.v.
Flashback
Everything was wrong, nothing was going right. I loved Andrew so much, so why was fate doing this to me, why couldn't they just let me be happy.
I ran down the corridor in fear as I heard him laugh at my feeble attempt to escape him. I felt tears run down my eyes as thought of Andrew.
This was not how it was supposed to go, we were supposed to get married and then he would turn me into a vampire, I thought once that had happened, I would be free from Hath-Seth, of the curse that plagues me, but I didn't know it would turn out like this.
It was not fair, he showed up too early, he usually showed up after Khufu and I were together, it usually takes him years to track us down. I didn't expect him to find us so soon, it was still early, this was not supposed to happen.
I ran as fast as my legs could take me as tears burned my eyes. Andrew and I had gotten married already, so I was now a vampire.
I thought I would be safe from him after becoming a vampire, but I was so wrong, now I have doomed Andrew and this entire kingdom. I had no idea that turning myself into a vampire would trigger the curse earlier.
I ran with all my might not knowing what to do next, I think I had been running for hours when I finally couldn't hear him anymore. I stopped for a break when I saw the coast was clear and fell down on the ground beside the pond in a heap.
I looked down at my body as I saw my blood covered dress, I looked at my hands which had recently been covered with the blood of Khufu. I should have listened to him. We should have run while we had the chance, but he stayed because of me, because of my foolish ness and now he's gone.
I sobbed as I remembered how Hath-Seth had killed everyone in the palace, from my parents to my brothers and even the vampires.
It was really hard to kill a vampire because they were faster and stronger than humans, but Hath-Seth killed them off like they were nothing. I watched as he dipped his hands into them ripping their hearts one by one.
And then there was Andrew, how fortunate I was that he went to another Kingdom to talk treaties, the thought of him dying because of me brought pain to my heart.
I heard a crack from behind me and knew that he had found me once more. I had to leave quickly, he just killed Khufu so he's probably stronger now. I stood up to run when I felt something grip me from behind and then like I weighed nothing I was thrown across the forest.
I hit the tree with a crack as the tree fell behind me. I stood up and looked his way in anger and pain. I knew I was going to die, nothing was going to change, but I'd rather go down fighting I thought to myself as I growled at him angrily baring my fangs.
I yelled out as I ran towards him with all my might and I was thrown across the forest again without even laying a scratch on him, I felt my bones heal quickly as I stood up and tried another attack again.
This went on for a while until I started healing slower and then I just couldn't take the pain anymore. He was just toying with me, he could've killed me the first time I attacked him, but he wanted me to suffer and feel pain, he wanted to play with me for a while and enjoy my torment before killing me off.
"Had enough yet" he said with a sinister smile.
"No" I growled out as I dragged my body up for one last attempt.
"Well, I have" he growled angrily and within the blink of an eye I felt a large blade pass through my stomach and out my back pinning me to the tree behind me.
I screamed in pain as I felt the hand of the sword right in front of my stomach and the end of the blade embedded deeply into the tree. I hadn't even seen him move.
"What did I ever do to you" I screamed out loud as I felt blood seep out of the wound without stop.
"Oh, trust me, this is nothing but fun to me" he said as he watched as the blood started to drain from my body.
I felt myself getting weaker due to the bloodlust, I couldn't stand anymore but I feared that if I moved even for the slightest, but the blade would cut more around my stomach.
As Hath-Seth walked up to me I couldn't just help but think about my life and how everything went wrong. I thought of Andrew and hoped that he would not be the one to discover my body in these woods.
They say vampires don't have a soul, so I hoped that I wouldn't get reincarnated again.
With that thought onmy mind I looked at Hath-Seth with a smug smile on my face. I had finally donesomething right. I thought to myself as I took a deep gasp in pain as his handsplunged into my chest and I felt a painful squeeze around my heart before itall went dark.
