The Sitri group and ORC reach the basement, and progress through the station made specifically for the trains which head to the Underworld.
They passed through the spacious atmosphere, and when they went to the right and to the left through the passage, they can suddenly feel a dangerous presence. Sharing a look of confirmation, they made a formation for charging in.
For the offence, the vanguards are: Xenovia, Irina, Saji, the Knight Meguri-san, the Rook Yura, and the twins.
The middleguards are Erissei, Akeno, Rossweisse, Shinra, and the Pawn Nimura-san.
The rearguards are Sona, Asia, and the Bishops Kusaka-san and Hanakai-san.
The formation is set so the close-range type members are positioned as vanguards, the members who fight from long-range are positioned as middleguards, and the rearguards consist of members of support-types and the person giving commands as the centre pillar.
After the team’s formation was set, everyone puts the Underworld’s communication item into their ears. They signalled each other for the final confirmation with their eyes before
progressing further through the passage.
The place they set foot into is an open space of the basement. The place is as large as the underground station, and the ceiling is also located up high. When the group looked ahead, there so many groups of magicians. Just from a simple look, there more than a hundred of them.
The Sitri and ORC took their distance, and confront the enemies.
“We came like you told us. Where are our juniors?” Sona asks and the magicians' response was to either laugh or shrug their shoulders.
"Just wait until I use my Booblingual skill on you, you idiots!" Issei sneered and Erin shook her head at this.
"I highly doubt that there will be female magicians accompanying them, Issei. Especially if they already learned about that skill of yours. The enemies seem to have researched thoroughly about our group's abilities." Erin narrowed her eyes. "The same goes for my Geass. They must have already placed a spell on themselves to counter mind-control effects."
One of the magicians steps forward and speaks.
“Oh my, if this isn’t everyone from the Devils. For everyone from the Gremory and Sitri of the “Rookies Four” to come here for us, it’s such an honor."
“What are your objectives? Phenex? Or is it us?” Sona said with narrowed eyes.
“Both of them. Well, we are treating the lady from the Phenex with care. We were ordered by our leader to do so.”
Another magician stepped forward.
“The issue regarding the Phenex is done, and what’s left is the thing with all of you. We can’t help ourselves but become concerned about it. The strength of all of you that were rated by that shitty chairman Mephisto and the shitty association. Well, it’s natural of us, wanting to test ourselves and see if there are strong young Devils, right?"
The magician clicks his fingers. Then, every one of his comrades activate a magic-circle for attack-type magic.
“Let’s start! Devils! The decisive battle of demonic-power VS magic that is!”
Magical attacks with different attributes of fire, water, ice, lightning, wind, light, and darkness, are released towards the group. The herd of monsters the magicians have under them also started to charge.
While avoiding the magical attacks, Sona orders the group through the communication device.
"Now, let’s show them. The power of the young Devils. Let’s make them regret turning the Devils of the Kuoh academy into their enemies!"
Hearing the declaration, Tsubaki, Azusa, and Xenovia leap forward. The twins transformed to their wolf forms and released fire and ice waves to the magicians.
Xenovia makes a big swing with Ex -Durandal, and she slams down the magic attacks headed her way with the holy aura.
Rossweisse who is the middle-guard also shoots her fullburst, and supports Xenovia’s attack. The herd of monsters that are charging towards the group are vaporised in one hit from Rossweisse's attack.
With the combo attack of Xenovia and Rossweisse, most magical attacks
and several monsters are taken down, but the magical attacks that have
escaped the attacks are still heading towards the group.
The Rook Yura who belongs to the vanguards stands in front of the Goddess, and she makes a huge shield appear in her hand.
“Expand! My shield, Twinkle Aegis!”
A glow spreads from the shield and changes into a giant shield of light. It’s a giant shield of light that takes half of the space they are in. The magical attacks that got through the group's counter attack pierced the shield—but the shield remain unscratched.
The shield doesn’t even crumble despite the number of magical attacks it withstood.
Erin received a call from Sona. The latter explained what Yura's gear is.
"That is the artificial Sacred Gear we received from Azazel. By making a pact with a fairy, then having it reside in the shield, it is able to change its ability."
"By combining it with the defence of a Rook, it does seem like it will pull out an insane amount of defence." Erin remarked in awe. She turned to Yura and held a thumbs up.
"Good job, Yura-san."
"Nah. It was nothing." Yura sheepishly said as a faint blush appeared on her cheeks.
A commotion arises from the group of magicians after seeing that most of the magical attacks and their monsters got stopped. They didn't think that the Sitri and ORC can handle them.
"We will be moving into offence."
With Sona's merciless command, the group begin to advance.
"Erin, Hyodo-san, please move around the battlefield all the time with the Skithblathnir just like I told you before. Once I give you an instruction, it will be very helpful if you use 'Transfer' to that location."
“Roger!”
Erin makes the magical ship—Galaxis appear. She and Issei grab on to it as
Galaxis continues to fly around
"Oh, it has amazing horsepower and strength despite having us hanging onto it!" Issei remarked in amazement.
"Yes! Galaxis is my ship of dreams." Erin grinned and spoke to the ship. "I will leave our support to you, Galaxis!"
Issei activated his gauntlet. He and Erin start doubling their power in order to prepare for Transfer.
The Vanguards then charged forward. Xenovia demolished the magical attack along with the magicians with a strike containing destructive power. The twins were quick to provide support as they mercilessy bit down the magicians who avoided the attack.
The Knight Meguri-san is carrying a Japanese sword type. The light and darkness atrributes in the sword appears to be blended.
"Tomoe’s artificial Sacred Gear is a katana-type version of “Blazer Shining and Darkness Blade”. I think the formal name of it is “Blazer Shining and Darkness Blade Samurai-sword." Sona informs

"S-Seriously? Isn't that similar to Azazel's weapon which he used in the Factions' sports event? The Blazer Shining- what was that called?" Issei's eyes widened in recognition
"Meguri-san, why did you pick that one!? Because of its features? W-Well, it has incredible destructive power, and it can even cause the wall and the floor to be grazed from the wave of the slash. Like I thought that artificial Sacred Gear is strong!" Erin commented.
“I won’t lose to Xenovia!”
Irina expands her pure white wings and glides in the air. She is wielding a mass-produced holy-demonic sword, and she is also shooting out a laser filled with the power of light.
Next is Saji. He is making the enemies bathe inside the black flames which is hard to de-curse, the Blaze Black Flare.
“Just stay there all together!”
He covers several magicians with a wall of black flames. The black flames appear from every direction and stop the magicians. The activation requirement will be fulfilled when they come within Saji’s range, and wall of flame appears around the place enemies are standing.
"That is one of the Vritra-type Sacred Gear, Shadow Prison. Vritra’s curse of fire swirls inside it, and the enemies will have their movements sealed. It makes those who have been captured suffer gradually by the fire’s heat. On top of that the Delete Field will be added onto it, and they will have their magical-power taken away. Once you get captured within that prison, you will continue to be captured until all of your power gets taken away."
"Woah. Saji's powers gets cooler and cooler every step." said Issei in awe.
“I will transform all of your magical-powers into demonic-powers!” Saji sends many lines, and connects them to the magicians.
"Saji’s original ability, the Absorption Line, will play a big role in this. By connecting it to the enemies, the magicians' powers will be absorbed away."
There are already more than ten lines connected to the enemies. The magical-powers flow into Saji through the lines.
“Shit!”
“Something like this!”
The magicians try to cut the line attached to them with magic, but it didn’t have any effect. Then the black flame passes through the lines and attacks the magicians.
"So you will be out of options once you get caught by Saji, huh. The line and the prison, if you don’t have the strength to slip out of it, then you are completely sealed. On top of these abilities he can still transform into a Dragon-King……" Erin mused.
"He really is getting powerful as a technique-type, that guy Saji!" Issei uttered
"Erin, Hyodo-san, Please transfer your powers to Saji!"
“Roger!”
Erissei dropped down to where Saji is and transferred their multiplied powers into the lines. Saji let go of the lines which were connected to him, and then connects it to the middle-guard, Rossweisse. The lines are linked between the magicians and Rossweisse.
"TRANSFER!"
*(Ching!)*
Several lines make a violent motion the moment Erissei transferred their powers, and the magicians' magical powers flows rapidly into Rossweisse.
The Magicians that had their magical powers absorbed faint and just drop to the floor. Overwhelming aura is now pouring out from Rossweisse's body.
Erissei stares in both shock and wonder at the result.
"The lines' ability to absorb magical powers has been enhanced. Originally the line could have been also connected to Gasper-kun. We could have absorbed the blood from the opponent by connecting the line to the opponent and Gasper-kun. After all, the line can also absorb blood. The opponent will suffer blood loss and Gasper-kun will power up by absorbing blood. The problem will be Gasper-kun's lung capacity……so I will ask him next time."
"Oh wow. Just how many ways to fight have you researched? Aren’t you too good at using our group?" Erin said in mix amazement and disbelief which made Sona chuckle lightly.
“Nimura! I will leave my back to you!”
“Please leave it to me! Genshirou-senpai!”
The Pawn Nimura Ruruko-san moves in to support Saji. She is using swift footwork to punch and kick the magicians bare-handed.
Nimura-san has armor only on her legs, and a strong aura jets out from
there.
"It seems like it’s giving her incredible speed and kicks. An artificial Sacred Gear equipped on her legs." Erin said as she observed the scene.
Nimura-san goes within the enemies range and makes a swift body
movement, which is similar to a dancing-like attack-style.
“Chi! It’s harder than we thought!”
The magicians are astonished with the variety of Saji’s attacks, and they
change their target. They directed their hands towards Xenovia who is attacking heroically.
“Chimera!”
The enemies summoned several Chimeras which then rushed to Xenovia. There is a giant bird type Chimera which is flying in the air, and a snake type Chimera which is crawling on the ground.
Xenovia makes a stance with her holy-sword, and increases the holy aura. Ready to attack.
Then, the third Chimera appears by breaking through the floor. It is a turtle-like Chimera with a hard shell. Xenovia takes down the turtle-type Chimera with an attack using Excalibur Destruction.
*(ZINK!)*
But, the Chimera's shell is harder than expected. Xenovia's sword is stabbed deep within and it doesn’t seem like it can be pulled from it anytime soon. The Chimera which is flying in the air and the Chimera which is crawling on the ground rushed towards a defenseless Xenovia.
"Heh. You thought you'll get me?" Xenovia smirked as she prepared her next move. She makes the shape of Ex-Durandal change just before being hit. It’s the power of Excalibur Mimic.
Then she swings up the holy-sword which is like a whip, and cuts the Chimera that is flying in half. An additional destruction follows when the sword makes an impact at the flying Chimera.
*(WHOOOSH!)*
The snake-type Chimera is still remaining. Xenovia changes the blade from a whip to its original shape, and increases the speed of her sword. She cuts the snake-type Chimera in half with its incredible speed. An additional destruction is also added to that swing and a crater is formed in the floor from the wave caused by the action.
It is a rapid succession of Mimic, Rapidly, and Destruction. Xenovia has just used three of the characteristics of her holy-sword.
"She isn’t a power-idiot!?" The magicians were in shock and shouted at the same time.
“Ku! Then I will strike with magic!”
One of the magicians creates a fireball using magic, and releases many of
them. The herd of fireballs is moving through the air freely as if it has a mind of its own. Xenovia tries to vaporize it with her holy-sword, but the fireballs dodge just before being hit, so she couldn’t take it down.
"Xenovia-san, use the power of Ruler."
“But, Kaichou. I can’t activate the ability of Ruler that well. And what are you planning to do by controlling the magicians?”
"No, you are wrong. Ruling doesn’t necessary mean that you can only control living things."
"……What does she mean? Even I don’t get it!" Issei said to Erin.
Sona hastily gives her order when Xenovia was about to get hit by the fireballs.
"Xenovia-san! Direct the ability of Ruler towards those magical fireballs! Think strongly. That, you want to stop those fireballs! If my prediction is right, the aspect of your sword will go one more rank up!"
Hearing the command, Xenovia concentrated intensely. Then the holy-sword glows as if it is responding to her. The fireballs which were heading towards Xenovia stop their movements, and remain still in their position.
"Did she stop it with the power of the holy-sword?" Erin was slightly shocked. "More precisely, she stopped it by ruling over the magic."
Xenovia is also in shock with its result.
“So there is also a way to use the power of Ruler like this…… Kaichou, what does this mean?”
"It’s just as I thought. Most likely, the things you can rule over aren’t just limited to living things. You were able to rule over the magic for a bit just now, but that isn’t the only thing that it is capable of. Depending on the way you use it, you should be able to rule over any phenomenon. If that is hard, then at least think of controlling the attacks from your enemies. Or you can support your comrades when their attacks miss."
“……So I can disturb the enemies attack with it, and support my comrades.”
"Yes. Looking at the abilities straightforwardly is good. But, depending on how you use it, you can use it in many ways. The way you used the power of Ruler just now is a good example."
"........................................."
"Holy.. fudge.. Even I didn't expect that one." Erin said who was gaping by now. Issei also shared the same expression and both were extremely surprised.
"I'm still shocked at the way Sona kaichou’s commands are working."
"She even thought up of a new move for our group..." replied Erin to Issei. "This battlefield, just what kind of imagination is she using inside her head?
The magicians sensed that Sona is a big threat so they focused their offence on her.
“Make sure to target the leader of the Sitri!”
