Lauren's pov
I was in school at my locker when Shawn and Austin came over, they threw my stuff all over the place, shoved me and called me names. They threw me to the floor laughing as they walked away, I stay on the floor for a while because my back still hurt from a few days ago and I landed on it painfully. I take a deep breath and look around, people were just acting like nothing happened, no one asked if I was okay no one came to help me, they just walked around me and my stuff.
I sigh grabbing my things and walking to homeroom, all day my back hurt and I had no pain killers and I didn't want to go to the nurse again, so I just worked through the pain.
It was now lunch and I was walking to the cafeteria when Shawn shoved me into the wall, I felt a sharp pain shoot through my back and had to put my hand over my mouth to stop me from whimpering.
I rushed to the bathroom and broke down crying, one from the pain and the other from how I'm being treated. A teacher was right there, he just looked at me and then back to his phone he didn't care, no one cares.
I sit on the floor with my knees to my chest and my head on my knees, I stay there for a while until someone comes into the bathroom, I ignore them and I thought they would just going to ignore me, but I was wrong.
"Hey, are you okay? I'm sorry dumb question you're obviously not, what's wrong?" She asked, I frown and look up then away, camila cabello, of course it was.
"Yeh" I mumble whipping my eyes but it was no use they kept coming, she sits next to me on the floor causing me to frown.
"Do you want to talk about what happened?" She asked, I keep the same frown on my face and shook my head.
"Okay, we don't have too" she said, I look at her in confusion
"Why-I...why are you sat on the floor with me? Why are you talking to me?" I ask quietly, basically in a whisper.
"Because you're upset" she said softly, I frown
"Oh" I mumble, she nods and I look away from her
"What's your name?" She asked, I look at her then away
"Lauren" I mumble, she nods with a soft smiles
"I'm camila" she said, I nod
"I know" I whisper, she smiles softly
"What happened Lauren? Why are you so upset?" Camila asked, i shook my head
"I said I don't want to talk about it" I mumble, she nods
"Okay, have you had lunch yet?" She asked, i shook my head, why does she care?
"No, not hungry" I mumble, she nods
"Come sit with me and my friends" she said getting up, I look up at her like she grew another head
"What?" I ask, she chuckles
"Come on, it'll be fun" she said, I shook my head
"Why would you want me to sit with you and your friends? You just met me..I-I don't think you would want me too, or they wouldn't" I say, she chuckles.
"Just come on" she said still smiling, I frown and she grabbed my hands pulling me up, i wince at my back but she didn't seem to notice.
"They're nice I promise" she said, she grabs my bag and walks me there anyway
Why is she doing this? Is she going to make fun of me with her friends? Why did she care that I was upset? Most people just walk right past me like I'm not ever there.
We get to her table and I look at everyone a little scared, well maybe for than a little.
"Guys, this is Lauren, she's going to be sitting with us" Camila said, they all smile saying their names and things like that.
Camila pulls me to sit down and I look around and slowly do, they all start talking and I frown feeling extremely out of place.
"Hey Lauren, do you have food?" Camila asked, i shook my head
"Not hungry" I mumble, she nods
"You have to eat, I'll buy you some" she said, I shook my head
"I had a big breakfast, I ate before lunch too" I mumble a lie, really I'm just way too uncomfortable to eat right now.
"Oh okay, if you get hungry the offer will still be there" Camila said with a kind smile, I nod mumbling a 'thank you' then go back to looking at my hands uncomfortably.
She must pity me, seeing me crying in the bathroom, she must be doing all of this out of pity and it's nice of her too, I really don't want pity at all.
"Camila" I whisper, she looks at me smiling
"Yes?" She asked, I rub my hands on my thighs uncomfortably
"Thank you for this, but I don't want your pity, I'm going to go" I mumble, she frowns grabbing my hand before I could leave.
"I'm not doing this out of pity, just sit okay, it's fine" she said, I look at the others and then see Shawn and Austin looking at me, I tense as started to walk over and I sit back down.
"Hey, it's okay if you really want to go though, I'm not forcing you to be here but, I do want you here okay, let's get to know each other" she said, I look at Shawn and Austin.
"Hey Lauren" Shawn smirks, I gulp and look away
"Thank you" I whisper to camila, she smiles nodding
"It's fine" she said, she looks at Shawn and Austin as they started laughing
Camila talks to her friends for a while as I got my schedule to see what lesson I had, camila looks and smiles wide.
"Hey! We have the same class" she said, I look at her and nod
"Cool" I whisper, she nods and I grab my bag getting up
"Let me walk with you" Camila said, I look to see Austin and Shawn again, where one is the others not far.
"Okay" I say, she smiles and says goodbye to her friends, they say bye to me and that it was nice to meet me even though they didn't say a word to me, I just say the same back.
Camila and I walk to class in silence, as we walked by Shawn and Austin I decided to say something so Shawn or Austin wouldn't to me, when I'm talking to someone they seem not to do or say anything, I don't know why though.
"Thank you, for what you did you cheered me up a bit" I say, she smiles nodding and I wasn't lying she actually did, sitting with someone even if I was out of place, someone talking to me even if it was out of pity was nice.
"It's fine, I'm glad I could cheer you up a little bit" she said, I nod and we walk into the class and I sit down, camila sits next to me.
We worked and we only talked when we had too because it was a partner work. It was a little awkward but camila tried to make it as less awkward as possible, she's actually really nice and it was nice to work with someone who didn't make me do all the work.
When the bell went I quickly packed my stuff away, as did camila and when I was going to leave camila made conversation so I slowed down.
"It was really nice to meet you" she said, I nod
"Yeh, you too and thank you again" I say she smiles nodding, I thought that was going to be it but she carried on.
"It's okay, you seem like a really nice person" she said, I blush a little because I wasn't expecting a compliment, if she meant it or not didn't matter because it was nice.
"Uh, thank you, so do you and it was really nice that you talked to me when I was upset, if it was out of pity or not" I say, she nods.
"It wasn't out of pity I just don't like people being upset" she said, I nodded and when we got out of the school building is when we said our goodbyes.
"It was really nice to meet you and I hope to talk again with you soon, you can always come up and say hello and even sit with me and my friends when you want" camila smiles, I smile as well.
"Thank you, it was nice meeting you too" I say, she nods and we say our goodbyes and walk in different directions.
