03 : lunch date

"hey hwayoung~~" called heejin.

"what?" i didn't look at her because i was busy scribbling in my notepad

"is it true you went on a date with minhee yesterday?" asked aecha, her voice was loud enough to make the whole class look at us

"oohh someone's dating our class president" haeun teased

"that's not true..." i denied

"what are y'all fussing about?" said a cold voice. it was minhee. he's not usually like that because he would always be cheerful. i assumed he was in a bad mood

he could be really scary sometimes. he sat at his seat and opened a textbook. maybe he was doing revisions. a few minutes later the teacher entered our class and learning session begin

[ lunch break ]

"hwayoung.. you wanna have lunch with me? " minhee asked with those puppy eyes

"wait let me ask-"

"hwayoung you can go with minhee" aecha blurted and winked

"yeah have fun!" heejin added and they both run to the cafe

"i guess that's a yes. anyways we should go now before the cafe is full"

"i don't wanna go to the cafe" he muttered

"huh?" i asked confused

"my mum packed lunch enough for two. can we go to the rooftop?" he requested while holding a bag

"oh okay. let's go!" i pulled his arm and we ran to the rooftop

there were no chairs so we just sat on the floor. we didn't really mind because the floors were always kept clean

it was just the two of us there and we could clearly see the view of the city. he took out two lunch boxes from the bag and gave one to me. "i asked my mum to make extra"

"you didn't have to do that. i can buy lunch" i said sheepishly

"it's okay.. homemade food is better. now let's eat" i opened the box and it was bibimbap

we had a peaceful lunch that day. the faint sounds of the traffic, the windy weather, it's cold breeze softly hitting our face.
it feels like a date..

until we heard the bell rang. i stood up, wanting to get to class but minhee grasped my hand making me sit back down.
"let's skip class. biology is exhausting" he sighed

"are you sure?" i asked

"yeah. let's just sit here until it's time to go home"

so we sat down again and started a conversation

"im glad that we are getting more and more close everyday" he uttered

"me too. im sorry if you once thought i was arrogant. honestly im just shy" i confessed

"it's okay. that's me as well. by the way,"
he cleared his throat before he continued

"i have basketball practice tomorrow. you wanna come see me play?"

"i can?"

"of course. besides.. your brother is also there"

"okay but i can't promise" i answered

[ time skip, the bell rang and it was time to go home ]

"hwayoung..serim hyung is waiting fo you" he pointed at a car

"oh yeah..bye minhee!" i cheerfully waved and ran to the car

minhee's pov

"bye.. jagiya" i whispered to myself and walked home like always
