hwayoung and minhee went for a walk around the neighborhood, while her parents had a talk in the kitchen

her dad was staring at her mum with his eyes wide open

"what?" she asked

"are you agreeing with their relationship?"

"yes. why? minhee is a nice kid. working at such young age, im sure he's capable of taking care of her"

"i know. i also like that kid. but don't you remember our promise with the ham family?"

"please. let's just cancel it. im sure they would understand."

"no we can't. it's a promise"

"do you think she'll be happy marrying someone unwillingly? besides, you were the one who made that promise. she didn't agree with anything"

"jagi, please.. "

"no! if you still wanna continue with it, do it on your own. im not taking the risk" she stood up and went upstairs, leaving her husband alone in the kitchen

"hwayoung! come down!" her mum shouted from the living room

"what's going on?" she replied while running down the stairs. her mum in the living room was crying

"hwayoung listen to us. we know you are still young, but we want you to get married"
his dad declared

"pfft you're joking right?"

"no hwayoung. im serious"

"mum? what is all this?"

"don't blame me it's your dad's fault" she replied, still sobbing

"dad! what is this?!" she thundered

"calm down.. im doing this because i never expected you to have a boyfriend"

"so you're angry because i have a boyfriend?! why? i can't have a partner like other teens?!"

"please! listen to me!"

"i already made a promise to the ham family. you will be marrying their first son, ham wonjin"

"no!"

"why? he's a nice guy.. and besides he has a proper job so he can take care of you"

"oh so you don't want me to be with minhee because he only works part time? shall i remind you he's still studying. maybe one day he'll also find a decent job!"

"we are not sure if he will get a nice job but wonjin will inherit their family's company"

"no! you can't make me marry someone i mever liked or loved"

"im sure you'll slowly accept him after the marriage. who knows who will actually love him and start a family together"

"no! im not doing this!" she fought back

"if you don't do it, i won't approve your relationship with minhee" he said sternly

"you're a cruel! you're selfish! i hate you!" she screamed and ran out of the house

"hwayoung!" he yelled

"if something happens to her, i swear i'll never forgive you" she muttered
