"are we almost there?" elliot giggles in the passenger seat of alejandro's car. "we're literally going to your moms house." "you always kill my fun." she rolls her eyes. she was unusually happy today and it had all to do with the fact that it was her birthday today. she was officially a 19 year old and no one was more excited than her. alejandro had been out planning her birthday for weeks and now that the day was here, he was shaking with anxiety. everything needed to be perfect. nothing could wrong. not today. while his leg was shaking, elliot was seemingly calm. her hand found her way to ales thigh and with one touch, his anxiety calmed down. "hey everything will be okay. you don't need to worry." he nods, and loosens his tight grip on the steering wheel. "okay we're here but you have to be blindfolded." ale announces as soon as he puts the car in park. "kinky me likey." elliot snorts at her own joke. "shut up and turn around." "yes sir." hand in hand, alejandro and elliot make their way through the house, and into the backyard, ale's grip never faltering. "okay you can take the blindfold off." "SURPRISE!" she hears and rips off her blindfold to find everyone she cares about in the living room in front of her. "happy birthday els." ale whispers so only she could hear. and the smile she flashed at him. the smile that could end wars and melt even the most heartless persons heart was meant for him and him only. he still couldn't believe that the girl that stood in front of him with nothing but pure love for him was his girl. naturally, the next few hours were spent with el giggling, dancing, and of course eating with her family. even kinsley was here. elliot and kins had drifted apart over the months, but once they were in the same room, it felt like old times again. even distance couldn't keep the two girls away from each other. "as much fun as i'm having, and trust me. i'm having so much fun," alvaro starts. "when the hell are we having cake." "sit your ass down." elliots mom scoffs from the doorway of the kitchen, carrying elliots favorite cake. "happy birthday to you. happy birthday to you. happy birthday dear elliot. happy birthday to you." the room sings, each voice different and each voice bringing a different type of happiness to elliot. "thank you guys for this. truly. this is one of the best birthdays i've had in years."
