Part XI - It Would Be Easier If You'd Hate Me

His apartment looked like a bunch of homeless people lived in it. Wrappers, microwaveable containers and take-out food boxes were littered all over floors and counter tops. Glasses and bottles were everywhere as well. Not to mention that amongst all of this trash were many, many beer cans and bottles. In the middle all of this sat Naruto, in one lone chair at a very cheap so-called kitchen table.

His apartment was bare, must like how his feelings were at the moment. How his feelings had been for a week straight now. All the furniture that he owned consisted of the small cheap table, two small chairs, a small television with very static-y, bad cable, and a small kitchen and bathroom. The kitchen only had one counter, a refrigerator and a microwave. The bathroom nothing but a sink, toilet and small stand up shower.

Truthfully, Naruto hadn't done much of anything this past week. He hadn't showered, shaved, he ate unhealthily, he drunk himself into stupors where he'd forget the world that he was in, but most of all he'd forget her.

He looked like a homeless person..

The low blow to all of this was, when he called work to tell them that he wouldn't be in for a while and asked for a leave of two weeks; Kiba had granted it to him. He wasn't sure if that's because he knew that Naruto knew about the affair. Or if it was because Kiba felt guilty about the whole ordeal. Whatever it was, Naruto despised him more and more with each inhale and exhale that he breathed.

He hated him. He'd never hated anyone in his life.

Naruto lay his head on the table before him. He was tired of looking at the lonely chair in front of him, reminding him that he was alone and that [Name] wasn't with him anymore. Everything in his life felt... like it was upside down and he was living a nightmare. One long, horrid nightmare.

He wanted to cry, but he had cried himself dry. When he first left home, [Name] had called his cell phone non-stop. Left sad,  depressing voice mails, apologizing to him and telling him how much she loved him.

Love, he hated love. Well, at least he did right now. He honestly didn't know if he could ever get over this. He didn't know if he could ever forgive her. Hell, he knew that he'd probably never forgive Kiba. Though, Naruto wanted to ask them both their sides of everything. Ask them why they did this to him.

He sighed and sat upright, rubbing at the scruffy facial hair on his face before he stood up. Before he could take a step though, his cell phone's ring tone blared out from behind him on the table. He prayed that it wasn't [Name], he couldn't take her name lighting up on that screen one more time. However, she hadn't called him in two days, it could be her.

        Shikamaru Nara

Damn, he hadn't talked to Nara for a week either. His reached out to grab the phone with a shaky hand, and his voice trembled as he said, "H-hey".

"Naruto, hey, where have you been man? I haven't seen you in a while."

Naruto waited before he replied, "Been here and there..."

Shikamaru waited a few long seconds before he spoke again, "Are you-" He must of thought better of saying anything because the silence continued afterward. That was until he heard someone say, 'give me the phone'.

"Dobe, where the hell are you? What's going on?"

Sasuke. Shikamaru must not have said anything to anyone, good.
