Wilbur yawned as he ran a hand through his messy brown hair; he had finally finished his work. He pushed his glasses that had slipped down, back up his nose to glance at the time: 1:07AM. "Time for bed," He whispered to himself, turning in his chair to leave when his phone buzzed.

The phone being on silent mode, just vibrated up and down on his desk. The man just looked at the device for a moment, contemplating if he should pick up or ignore it.

He decided on the former, chewing on the inside of his cheek as he picked it up, standing from his chair. Looking at the caller ID, Wilbur noticed it was George that was calling him, with his name of 'Gogy' on the screen.

The man answered, putting it up to his ear as he made his way to his bedroom. Wilbur listened as the call connected and the soft background noise came from his friends side. "Hey," Wilbur started, his voice tired  and scratchy due to the lack of usage. "What'd you need?"

A few moments pasted of silence and just as Wilbur went to open his mouth to speak again, the other man spoke up. "Hi Wil,"

The usually ebullient voice was scratchy, and tired -- probably more so than Wilbur -- with a hint of uneasiness. Silence settled over the call once more. It was rather weird as George didn't call often, but even if he did, it was short and quick, never dragged out and silent. Although they were good friends, good enough to meet in real life, they weren't super close.

"What's going on George? You okay?" Wil said, before bringing the phone down, muting himself and putting it on speaker phone as he changed into sleep wear.

The voice echoed from his phone, "Can you- just-" George mumbled the rest intelligible. The brunette finished changing and undid his changes to the call, putting it back over his ear as he sat down on his bed. "Say that again? I didn't hear you." Wilbur put simply, ignoring his other questions of concern.

After a moment of anxious quietness, the twenty-four year old over the phone spoke in a concise way. "Let's chat." There as no room to decline, as much as Wilbur did want to at least get six hours of sleep.

The brunette hummed, his free hand feeling the soft blankets under him -- oh, how he wanted to sleep-- and silently complained on how he was being kept up. The feeling of the blanket tingled under his fingertips, calling for him (he wished he could answer those calls.) "Chat about what?" Wilbur questioned, tilting his head although the other couldn't see it.

George seemed to think about it for second before answering, "I don't know, what's on your mind?"

Wilbur frowned, unamused on how George just wanted to have a casual conversation past one in the morning. "Well, you're the one who called, what's on your mind."  He replied, looking up at his ceiling, awaiting his answer.

"Well I-" George seemed to have not thought this entirely through. "Can we just talk?"

"George its past one AM-"

"I know,"

"-Why do you want to talk so bad-"

"I'm scared," George blurted out, stopping Wilbur from finishing his sentence.

Wilbur sat up straight as silence settled over the call, him thinking briefly before saying, "Why didn't you tell me earlier than?"

George muttered, "Well, it seems stupid,"

The brunette frowned, "Why're you scared?"

"I watched some stupid horror movie." Wilbur could practically hear Georges embarrassment over the call. "And now I can't sleep."

The man sighed, laying down on his bed but not on the pillows. He let silence consume the call purposely breaking it. "Well, what do you wanna' talk about?" Wilbur asked, closing his brown eyes behind glass frames.

Georges voice was nice to hear in the dark, he decided, when the other spoke. Him and George weren't super close compared to how some others were, but maybe they could change that. Wilbur absentmindedly hoped that they could as sleep was forgotten and all his attention was placed on his friend.

And maybe somewhere he also hoped for George to watch more horror movies.
