Chapter 39 - Found you

Start from the beginning

By the time they left the amusement park, it was already three o'clock. They ended up spending more than four hours there. He contemplated going to the hill before going home to watch the sunset but remembered that Amara was probably very tired from all of the walking and so dismissed the idea. It was better to head home and rest, maybe watch a couple of movies before heading to bed.

The two of them peacefully drove home in comfortable silence, the sound of the radio playing softly in the background. As the two spent more time together, he began to realise that neither of them was big talkers. It was never much of a problem since to them, an exchange of words did not equate to how deep their feeling was between them.

Using his peripheral vision, Austin glanced to his side to find Amara slowly dozing off.

Austin glanced to the side to find Amara slowly dozing off, the eventful day must have tired her out. He switched the pop music playing in his car to one which was softer and slower when his phone started ringing. He glanced at the ID before picking it up.

"Yes?" Austin tone was laced with seriousness, it was the tone he used when dealing with pack matters.

"Alpha, there are two people here on the beach, one man and one woman, they are speaking a foreign language but we heard one of them say Miss Amara's name. It could be just a coincidence but we wanted to report this to you. What should we do?"

Austin's eyebrows creased and his heartfelt a pang of surprise, he glanced at Amara 'Could they be... no way' it was only a couple weeks ago that he believed that sirens were mythological creatures and other than his mate, there could be two more?

"Don't do anything to them but keep them there, I'll be over in thirty minutes," he said before hanging up.

Not long after he hung up Amara stirred in her sleep, she could feel a slight pull in her chest causing her to wake. She drowsily opened her eyes to see a beautiful view of the ocean that stretched on for miles, it's been so long since she was able to drown in the saltiness of the sea and she was craving it badly.

Austin who's eyes had not once left hers could see the longing in them, his hand tightly gripped on the staring wheel. Though he said that he didn't want to trap Amara, he didn't want to let her go, so he pretends to not see the longing she has for her home.

He felt guilty, he felt like an asshole for feeling like this, but as long as she doesn't willingly run away from him, he'll pretend he didn't see what she craved.

A while ago

Two figures ascended from the water, one man and one woman. From afar it was easy to tell that they were bare from any clothing revealing their pearl-like skin and beautifully sculpted bodies.

The man and woman did not shy away from their nudity and continued walking as if being naked was the most normal thing to do, the cold wind that brushed against their skin did not affect them one bit. Compared to the coldness of the ocean this whether was considered warm to them.

"Are you certain she is here?" The woman says in a foreign language. The woman had the same black hair as Amara that reached to her chest but contrary to her emerald-green eyes, this woman possessed a beautiful silver. Her slightly deep voice sounded pleasant to the ears but at the same time seductive.

"Yes, I know you can sense it too. Though it's weak, it's here," The man with the pale pink hair replied.

The two figures attentively looked around them with cold eyes. Both of their expressions were devoid of emotion making it hard to know what they were thinking.

Suddenly the man glanced at the side and his eyes went a few degrees colder.

"Be careful sister, men are watching us,"

"Mmm I can sense them as well," she said lowly.

Hidden somewhere, the two men watching them couldn't help but gulp, 'they're beautiful' they were almost entranced by their beauty that for a second their mind blanked, but thankfully they had not only trained their physical strength but their mental strength as well.

'snap out of it!' They mentally slapped themselves and quickly averted their eyes.

"Do you think they went skinny dipping or something?"

"Probably, I've never seen them in town before so they might be tourists or something"

"But really? Skinny dipping at this time?"

The two men shook their head, and just as they were about to go off on their way they froze.

Amara

They might not have understood their conversation but as soon as they heard this name they immediately showed a serious expression. They walked out of their hiding spot and resolutely walked towards the two figures, their temperament was a stark contrast to before.
