This imagine is just a few numbers shy of 7,000 words. I planned to have it published on Christmas Day but I wasn't finished and little did I know, I had a long way to go. It's finally finished and I hope you all enjoy it!
I'm very proud of this one :)

I tried to proofread this but there might still be mistakes. Don't mind those haha

Large, white flakes of snow fall from the sky outside, blanketing the town of Whoville in its stunning wintery cloak. Everyone's house is lit up from top to bottom with dazzling Christmas lights, the mouthwatering scent of fresh baked goods lingers in the frigid winter air outside along with the faint smell of pine from the trees surrounding the town; the two scents mingling and mixing together in the most magical way.

I stare up at the ominous, snowy mountain towering over the small town, my head resting on my hand as I peer out the window. Whoville is a bright, bustling town, but not all that glitters is gold. There's a mysterious and malicious man who lives in those mountains looming above. He's heinous, lowdown, abominable, rotten, and foul. Well, that's what the townspeople say anyway. They call him The Grinch. He hates anything and everything that sparks happiness. He's a hermit that hides in his hollow hideout; holed up and hidden from civilization.
Alone.
I can't help but wonder how he must feel, all alone in anguish. Silently suffering, too scared to seek support, finding solace in silence—or perhaps he likes being alone.

"Y/n!" My dad calls out, the sound of the front door closing following behind.
I stand up from my window nook and make my way into the foyer, my dad shrugging off his jacket coated in a light layer of snowflakes.
"How was work?" I ask.
"Busy." He sighs, clearly exasperated. "The post office is absolutely packed. People are bringing in presents like there's no tomorrow."
"Well it is Christmas after all." I comment.
"Yeah." He huffed, kicking his shoes off by the door.
"I uh, made dinner. It's just spaghetti, but it should still be warm."
"Thanks sweetheart." He gave me a grateful smile before making his way to the kitchen.
I follow behind shortly, walking over to the cabinet to retrieve my favorite Christmas mug. My dad takes a look at the bowl of spaghetti I left for him on the counter as I fill my mug with milk, popping it in the microwave for a couple minutes.
"Hey dad?"
"Yeah?"
I grab a packet of hot cocoa mix from the cabinet. "Do you think The Grinch is a nice person?"
He stiffened at the mention of the green grump.
"I'm not sure."
"I was just thinking, maybe what people say about him isn't true."
"You've always been such a sweet girl. You try to see the good in everyone."
I give him a small smile.
"Unfortunately, I think he's truly as bad as they say."
"Maybe-" I'm cut off by the sound of the microwave beeping.
I pull the warm mug from the microwave and start mixing in the chocolatey powder.
"What were you going to say?" Dad questioned.
"Oh. It's nothing." I shake my head.
"Alright." He places his bowl of spaghetti into the microwave.
I reluctantly turn and leave, taking a seat in the living room, my eyes landing on the bright and glittery Christmas tree as ideas brew in my mind.

"That mountain sure is creepy." Yugyeom shivered.
"An eyesore is what it is." Jaehyun shook his head. "It totally messes up the vibe of our town."
"You're right. It's a vast contrast from our bright little town." I nod.
"Hey." Jungkook nudged me. "We should go up there and ding dong ditch The Grinch."
"What? No." Yugyeom shook his head violently.
"Why not?" Jungkook crossed his arms. "You too chicken?"
"Yes!"
"Geez Jeon. Do you have a death wish?" Jaehyun scoffed.
"No, but I like excitement." He shrugged.
I stared up at the mountain, my friends' conversation becoming background noise as the gears in my head began to turn.
"Let's go." I spoke up suddenly, the group going silent.
"That's what I'm talking about!" Jungkook exclaimed, giving me a firm pat on the back. "Y/n knows how to have fun."
"Are you insane?!" Yungyeom exclaimed.
"It won't be that bad." Jungkook reasoned.
"I don't know." Jaehyun trailed off, clearly unsure about the whole thing.
"I'm not going." Yugyeom muttered.
"Are you kidding me?" Jungkook deadpanned. "Neither of you have to do anything."
"If he catches us we'll all be dead whether we did something or not. It'll be death by association." Yugyeom whined.
"Tag along if you want. I'm not forcing you." Jungkook waved his hand dismissively as he turned away from the group.
I look over at Jaehyun expectantly.
"I guess I'll go." He shrugged.
"Alright c'mon." Jungkook grabbed mine and Jaehyun's sleeves, tugging us along.
"H-hey! Wait! I'm coming too!" Yugyeom ran after us.
